  Dedication

I dedicate this to crazed Shyt List fans everywhere!

  Note To The Readers

Since the real Gabriella has been introduced in Shyt List 3, we have decided that in Shyt List 4 we will always refer to the Gabriella in Yvonna’s mind in italics as such: Gabriella. And the real Gabriella will appear without italics.

  Thank you.

  Prologue

  In A Bind

The temperature was chilly in the extremely dark room that held Yvonna captive. It smelled of mold and motor oil and the odor, coupled with the fact that she was hungry, made her stomach rumble. She was lying against a cold concrete wall and one of her wrist was tied with rope that looped into a rusty latch that was embedded into the wall.

“Awww,” Yvonna cried out holding her bruised neck.

When she placed her hand in front of her face, she couldn’t even see her fingers wiggle.

Dropping her hand to her side she said, “Where am I?” Someone in the world wanted her dealt with and had ceased an opportunity to catch her ass slipping. “I need to get out of here! I need to leave! Please! Let me out!!!”

  Silence.

“You know, if it was that easy we’d be gone already.” A female voice said.

  “Who is that?”

  Silence.

Yvonna outstretched her arms trying to touch the person who had just spoken. But the pitch-blackness provided no direction. “I said who the fuck are you?”

  “It’s me. Gabriella.”

Hearing her name Yvonna’s raspy laugh filled the room. She immediately noticed her throat was dry and that she was extremely thirsty. She didn’t know how long she’d been there without water, or how much longer she’d be able to live without it, but felt if she was going to die, she’d at least get the answer to a question she always wanted to know.

“So they got your ass too, huh? After everything, you right in here with me.”

“If that’s what you want to call it.”

“That’s exactly what I call it.”

Loud rumbling outside of the room caused them to swallow any upcoming words. Sure they hadn’t been given any orders to remain quiet, but until they knew what was going on, neither was taking any chances. After a few more minutes of silence Yvonna felt bold enough to speak again.

“Are you there?” She whispered into the darkness. “Can you hear me?”

  “Yes.”

“I wanna ask you something, and this time I want you to be honest. After all, what do we have to lose? Right?"

"We’re both about to die, so what is it, Yvonna?”

“Why did you leave the home when we were kids? I mean, why did you leave us knowing we needed you? And why didn’t you take me with you? I was being raped and tortured, too. It ain’t like I didn’t need an escape. You were all I had.”

“We are about to die, and you want that question to be your last?”

“Yes.” She paused. “I guess I gotta know.”

Irritation sounded off in her tone. “Yvonna, I can’t remember that far back. We were kids, and all I wanna do now is make it out of here alive. And that should be all you’re worried about, too.”

“I’m worried about a lot more than that. I can’t help but believe that if you took me with you, that I would’ve had a chance at a real life.”

“Whatever, Yvonna. I’m thinking about my life right now. All that other shit you saying don’t make a difference to me anymore. We adults, get over it!”

Her words hurt. “Well it should matter to you. Because for each day you were gone, during that time in my life, your absence mattered to me.”

“Well it doesn’t matter to me.” She was cold.

  “It should.”

  “Why?”

“Because if we are able to get out of here, alive, I’m going to kill you myself.”

  “Is that right?”

  “That’s mothafuckin’ right.”

“Well what if we don’t make it out of here alive?”

“Then I’m gonna meet you in hell.”

  Silence.

“Whatever,” she said brushing her threats off, “We’ll worry about that bridge if we get there.” She paused. “Do you have any idea who would want you this bad?”

“You mean other than you? And them?”

  “Yes.”

Yvonna searched her memory and unlike some folks who didn’t have enemies, there were too many people who wanted nothing more than to see her ass dead, but most of them were in their graves and unable to do anything about it. After all, she’d seen to it herself.

“Could be anybody, but it’s probably Swoopes. I mean, he was in the room with us, too. Why isn’t he here?”

There was a brief silence before they heard another movement. Both of them sat up straight in fear that someone inside the room with them had heard their conversation.

“Naw…bitch. Wrong again. ‘Cause whoever wanted your ass dead got me wrapped into this shit, too.”

  “Swoopes?”

  “What you think?”

  THURSDAY

  **Three Wild Ass Days Earlier**

  Sin City

  Yvonna Harris

The sweat forming on Yvonna’s forehead immediately evaporated after she stepped into the Aria hotel’s revolving doors in Las Vegas, Nevada. The heat outside was unbearable but the air conditioning was exactly what was needed to put her and Ming at ease.

Yvonna’s heart thumped in her chest, after all, she never left her hideout in a quaint part of town in Virginia. People were trying to murder her and it had gotten so bad, that any move she made, including going to the grocers had to be thought out in advance. She knew Swoopes was trying to kill her, and whoever else she’d done wrong. Always feeling threatened, she had to leave her fly pad overlooking Baltimore City because of the death threats on her life and the firebombs placed in her cars. Had it not been for Uncle Yao and Bricks she would be dead by now.

The hotel was packed this Thursday night as it played host to several celebrity parties. The fight between Urban Greggs and Armando Santiago was taking place Saturday and anybody who was anybody was attending the event. Oh yes, the best of the best was in attendance until Yvonna and Ming walked in. Five Asian men clad in black suits with wired ear sets tucked into their ears, disappearing into their blazers, looked at everyone through their dark shades as if ‘they wished a mothafucka would’ touch either one of the ladies.

Yao sent his best men to guard her, after all, he had a mission he needed completed and only his best assassin, Yvonna, could handle the job. He knew that without the men, Yvonna’s life was in danger. Outside of Bricks she didn’t feel she could trust anyone enough to bare her soul and express her fears. But just like Bricks, Yao proved capable of protecting her.

Yao would not have pulled out all the stops if she wasn’t worth it. The best security for his best assassin. But although he knew no one could kill a mothafucka as smoothly as her, he also knew that when he sent her on prior missions, she always managed to kick up a little shit along the way.

Like the time he sent her to murder Bandwagon Sade at a picnic. When on the way to the hit, a little girl unrelated to Sade said her ass was way too fat in the undercover Parking Attendant uniform she wore. Yvonna got so mad she slapped the shit out of the child sending her crying to her mother. Then there was the time she had to kill Brash Billy in a convenience store parking lot. Instead of things going as planned when she pulled her rental car up towards an available parking space, a lady stole it from her and refused to move. Her mind went into overdrive and she forgot all about the mission Yao had given her.

In a blinding rage, she opened the lady’s car door, pulled her to the ground and threw her car into drive. Both watched as the woman’s car crashed into ten parked vehicles totaling her Honda beyond repair. The mission was foiled and Yao had to get someone else to kill Billy and he was angry about it.

No this time had to be different, Uncle Yao told her. He demanded that she remain focused or else the consequences could be dire.

“Complete the mission I’ve assigned, get out and get paid, Yvonna. Don’t let that temper of yours get you into trouble with me.” The only thing was, he forgot he was trying to direct one crazy ass bitch.

Yvonna moved swiftly through the lobby bumping into anyone in her way. Her walk couldn’t be fucked with as she was clad in a black one piece BCBG short set which displayed her perky breasts, phat ass and firm thighs. A pair of dark shades rested on her face, and a brand new cognac colored MCM bag swung from her arm. Her short spiky hair was flyer than usual because she loved all eyes on her. Oh yes, the bitch was back and she was bad.

To her left was her best friend, the sexiest Chinese bitch in the DMV (DC, Maryland & Virginia). Five foot two inch Ming Chi sported a tight red shirt, which led to her brand new phat ass, courtesy of Dr. Ryan Martin, plastic surgeon to the ghetto stars. She even had to get her True Religion jeans tailored because they didn’t make them for the body of black girl, which thanks to several thousand dollars, Ming now possessed. Her brown eyes sparkled like the diamonds on her neck and fingers as she gave eye contact to those who had chosen to be her audience.

“Ming hopes you know she’s gonna get some dick while she’s here.” Ming said. “Just cause that wretched uncle of mine has you out here on business, doesn’t mean I’m not gonna have a good time. What are you doing for him anyway?"

“Nunya," she paused. "And you get dick all the time. Why should coming to Vegas be any different?”

“Well Ming is getting more dick than usual this weekend. We are in Vegas and what goes on in Vegas stays between Ming’s legs.”

Although they were in Vegas on a mission, they both had all intentions on getting fucked and having some fun before they boarded their plane back to DC on Monday. They were rich, evil and horny…three dangerous combinations.

When they walked up to the reservation counter, all side bar conversations ceased. Who are these bitches? A few girls said to themselves. Watching the women approach the counter followed by their bodyguards.

“I don’t know why Yao insisted on having them come with us. They making us hot. I need to be low-key and this ain’t hardly low.”

“Because he care about you,” Ming said, “He care about you more than he do his own niece.”

“Look, don’t blame ya’lls fucked up ass relationship on me.”

“Ming isn’t blaming anything on you. Ming is just stating the truth.” Almost to the counter, a nearby clucker checked her man for eyeing Ming’s ass. Giving him what he wanted, Ming winked and the disrespectful ass nigga blushed.

“Take a picture it will last longer,” the girl said causing Ming to roll her eyes.

“Ming hates jealous bitches,” she said loud enough for the girl to hear. It didn’t bother her that she was dead wrong for flirting with the man in front of his girlfriend to begin with.

“Ming, when will you realize, haters are good for the planet? That’s how we know we keep the world turning.”

Ming had succeeded in talking Yvonna’s head off the entire flight. If she wasn’t talking about all the new nail salon drug fronts Yao opened in her name, she was talking about her mother in China and how the family hated that she was still under Yao’s control.

Most of the time, Ming held one-sided conversations because all Yvonna could think about was the fact that she hadn’t taken her Clozaril and Lithium in four hours. And her bag with the meds was packed and under the plane. And alth
ough Gabriella came and went as she pleased, the medicine prevented the frequency of the visits. She also missed her daughter Delilah and wondered what time she would be landing with Terrell and Boy.

Her heart was filled with so much love when it came to Delilah, still she was in Vegas to do business and she would not have had her with her if Terrell and Quita weren’t in town. Ever since someone had attempted to take her life, she made it her business to take Delilah everywhere she went when she was out of town, just as long as she provided the proper precautions. And because she was afraid of losing her, she felt bad for what she had done to Bilal Jr., when she poisoned him as a child. In fact that was the only thing she regretted in all her years of living, and she often said that if she could make things right with him, she would.

Pulling her phone out of her purse, she texted Urban, the man who she was in town to kill. There was no reply. Rolling her eyes she wished Ming would shut the fuck up for five seconds. She needed to get her head right for what she had to do…kill.

Yvonna had been seeing Urban Greggs, the heavyweight champion of the world, for a few months. She enjoyed his company even though their union was business, not personal and Urban had no idea. In the beginning he was doing everything possible to win her over to no avail.
