“Yvonna, come.” He said extending his hands toward her. She walked toward him and he kissed her softly on the forehead. “Where were you? Are you okay?” He said massaging her shoulders.

“I’m fine. But how did you get in?”

“Doors can’t hold me out or in.” He grinned. “Now are you okay? Onik said you were missing, and that stupid niece of mine didn’t know where you were either.”

“Uh…yes.” She was still taken by his response. “I’m fine. Everything’s fine.”

“Are you sure?” he gripped her tighter forcing her eyes wide open. “Because we can’t have any problems this weekend. Now I need him taken care of. And I don’t need any trails leading back to me.”

  “You can count on me.”

“Great, because I don’t want you getting caught up in frivolous matters while you’re here. There are other more important things to care for.”

  “I understand.”

“Good…now when are you meeting him?”

“Tomorrow. Although he hasn’t called yet.”

“Don’t worry, he’ll call.” Then he paused. “But remember, our plan has two parts. First you get him to drink the poison the night of the fight and then you wait until after the fight to kill him.” Then he handed her the vial of poison. “Put this in his water right before the fight. It’ll take hold slowly. You understand?”

“I understand, but is it possible to call the men off? If Urban sees me with a band of Chinese men he’ll be suspicious. I’m trying to stay low-key.”

“And I’m trying to save you. How many attempts have been made on your life?”

“Many, but no one knows I’m here. I’m safe. But the more attention I bring by having them follow me, the harder it will be to complete your mission.”

“I understand. It’s done.” He said looking at them all. “I’ll just keep Onik on you.” He eyed Onik who nodded. “But don’t worry, he’ll stay in the background. And if you need any of my men for any reason, they are yours.”

  “Thank you.”

“Don’t thank me yet. Because I think the biggest distraction of all is that niece of mine.”

  “She isn’t a distraction.”

“Don’t let her twist your mind. She’s a disgrace to me and had it not been for your affiliation with her, and the fact that I’m using her name for the salons, I would’ve had her murdered.”

“Uncle Yao...” He put a finger over her lips.

“I will stop at nothing to see this mission through, even if it means killing a person whose bloodline resembles my own. Am I understood?”

  “Yes. You are.”

  Swoopes & Crystal

Heavy laughter filled the MGM Grand hotel in Vegas. People were buzzed from the steady flow of alcohol and excited about the fight between Greggs and Santiago. Amongst them sat a couple whose only mission was to take what didn’t belong to them, at any cost.

Crystal laid eyes on the perfect couple to rob while she and Swoopes were in Vegas. Funds were severely low and they needed a come up and he figured his gun skills coupled with her charms would do the trick. A pretty girl was better bait than a man missing his fingers and an eye so he sent her along to make a friendly connection.

Ever since she met Swoopes on the prison pal site, she’d dedicated her life to him. Whether it was to sleep with Chavis, one of his gang members that he killed the moment he left her pussy, or giving up her kids because he didn’t like them, she proved over and over that she was down for him, every step of the way.

“Please tell me ya’ll didn’t lose as much money as we did,” Crystal said approaching a young couple that looked solemn at the casino bar. She sat in one of the four available seats next to them. “I need to know somebody came out on top.”

“Giiiirrrl, we did alright,” the pretty girl said, twirling the straw in her cup, “but damn, them tables cold right now.”

Swoopes sat behind her and watched her work. For a brief second the couples observed each other and gave their silent approval. Both were in their late twenties to early thirties and both were stylish. The only thing off putting was Swoopes’ eye patch and the three fingers missing off his right hand. But even with the patch Swoopes wasn’t hard on the eyes and had amazing swag and confidence about him that made him appealing to strangers.

“What were ya’ll playing?” Swoopes asked the dude.

“Black Jack. Nothing serious.” He responded. “I told my baby to get the fuck up when she was winning but she didn’t. Before I knew it she lost almost everything.”

  “Almost everything?” Swoopes repeated.

“Yep. I stopped her before she got too far.”

“Why you put me out there, honey.” The girl said. “You was the main one handing me chips and shit.”

“This girl crazy,” he said, “she thinks just because chips are on the table you’re supposed to use ‘em all. I told her you gotta quit while you’re ahead.”

Swoopes and Crystal laughed. “Well we have some vouchers for a nice restaurant at Bellagio’s. If ya’ll up for it we’d love the company.” Crystal said.

“I don’t know,” the girl said looking at her man. “We don’t want to intrude.”

“Come on,” Crystal insisted. “Drinks on us. You can’t beat them odds.”

The girl looked at her boyfriend and he said, “Fuck it. We ain’t got nothing else to lose.”

When they made it to the restaurant the couples drank liquor and had a good time. Crystal and Swoopes found out the young couples names were Gerron and Ginger and they were from Atlanta. He liked that they seemed naive and trusting, and they were just the type of people they wanted to meet and deceive.

Although plotting was in full mode, Swoopes and Crystal were surprised at how much they had in common but knew they had to push forward with the plan. They needed enough money to get as close to Yvonna as possible while she was in Vegas, otherwise they’d lose her again. But if their current plan didn’t work, he had Plan B formulated in his mind and ready to go. Through the grapevine, he learned that the only regret Yvonna had in life was poisoning Bilal Jr., almost killing him, and if things didn’t work, he had plans to capitalize on that weakness.

If Swoopes wasn’t fucking around with drugs, and if he went back to work with the YBM he wouldn’t be in this situation. But he vowed not to hit the streets again until Yvonna’s heart stopped beating. It wasn’t easy because Yao’s people were gunning for him as much as he was gunning for her and it made it difficult to move.

After they finished their meals Swoopes and Crystal were trying to formulate in their minds how to get the couple alone. But then Gerron said, “We got some drinks in our room. Ya’ll wanna go back there and play cards or something?”

“We don’t want to put you guys out,” Crystal said.

“It’s not a problem,” Gina replied, “It would be our pleasure.”

This was better than Swoopes and Crystal could have hoped for. In their room they could take them for all they had. “Sounds like a plan to me,” Swoopes said giving him dap.

Within twenty minutes they were back in the hotel, and Swoopes’ entire demeanor had changed. On Beast-Goon mode, he thought about how much a nigga like him must’ve had on him, and better yet, how much he had access to from the ATM.

“We’re going to freshen up. But we have some Berry and Coconut Ciroc on the table. Make yourselves at home.” Gina said.

“Thank you.” Crystal said as they took their seat on the couch.

When they disappeared into the bedroom portion of the suite Swoopes whispered, “This plan could not have gone any better.”

“Did I make you proud, God? Did I do what you wanted?”

He pulled her closely. “If this shit works out you did better than make me proud. And I’ma show you how much I appreciate your loyalty, too.” Swoopes checked for the gun under his shirt and was waiting for the best time to pull it out. “Now in a minute, babes, it’s gonna be time to push
. I’ma put the heat to the nigga’s head and you drop his bitch. I need you to hit her hard like we talked about.”

“I got you, God.” She said with wide eyes. “I won’t let you down.” After he killed Newbie she promised to always refer to him by the name he loved, even if he was nowhere near deserving.

“Good.” He said planting a kiss sloppily on her lips. She wrapped her arms around him tightly not wanting to let him go. “After we rob these mothafucka’s I’ma take you out and show you a good time, and then we can get at that bitch.”

You would’ve thought he asked her to marry him the way she was acting. Days of sleeping in airports, and abandoned cars had taken its toll on her body.

They were involved heavily in another kiss when they felt a barrel on the back of their heads. The pressure of the guns gave them temporary headaches as they realized they’d fucked up majorly.

Swoopes was about to reach for his whistle when Gina walked around them and said, “Don’t move, baby boy. Get your mothafuckin’ hands in the air.” Then with her free hand, she relieved them of their weapons.

With the guns in her possession she stepped back to Gerron who planted a kiss on her lips.

“That’s my bitch, nigga!” He laughed. “That’s how we do it!” She winked at him and looked back at Swoopes and Crystal. “You know what time it is, nigga!” Gerron said with his gun planted on the back of his skull. “Give it up, ‘fore I blow your other eye out from the back.”

  Quita

Quita was taking Chomps back to Bricks and she had Delilah and Boy with her for the walk. As usual the two were fighting about anything and everything under the sun. She tried not to let them blow her, but that was becoming next to impossible. Fixing herself up before she knocked on Bricks’ suite door, she adjusted her earrings and her itty-bitty jacket. When the work was done she knocked two times before Kelsi appeared.

“Is Bricks here?” Quita found herself adjusting again, she hadn’t expected to see Kelsi’s fine ass.

“You must be Quita,” he said staring at her.

“You got it, cutie.” She smiled.

Quita wasn’t the only one who was taken by Kelsi. Delilah had never seen a man more handsome in her life.

He smiled at Quita’s comment and said, “Come on in.”

While Boy, and Chomps moved into the suite, Delilah was stuck in her steps. She couldn’t move. Kelsi picking up on the little girl’s crush said, “Why you out there pretty? You ain’t coming in?”

“You think I’m pretty?” Delilah asked stuck on stupid.

“Yeah. If I were your age you’d be my girlfriend.”

Delilah’s heart beat rapidly as she moved into the suite. If only it could be true. She thought, having developed her first big boy crush. When she was inside Kelsi closed the door and swaggered to the couch to finish his beer. Delilah didn’t take her eyes off of him the entire time.

When Bricks came out Quita said, “I’m bringing Chomps back. I told you he coulda stayed if you wanted to have some fun. I mean, you are in Vegas, boy.”

“Naw, I gotta make sure my lil man straight.”

“Whatever,” she sighed. “Let me know what time you want me to pick him back up tomorrow.”

Bricks gave Chomps a pound and said, “Aight, I’ma holla at you.”

Quita was just about to move for the door when she saw the handle of Kelsi’s weapon imprinting his shirt.

  “You police?” She asked.

Kelsi frowned. “Naw, why you say that?”

“I thought I saw a gun.” Kelsi pulled his shirt all the way down and shook his head at the stupid bitch standing before him.

Bricks irritated said, “Fuck is you talking like that around them kids for? Matta fact, get your ass out of here before I fire you.” He pushed her toward the door and said goodbye to Delilah and Boy before slamming it in her face.

  Yvonna

The TV was playing in the background in the suite as Yvonna was playing with Delilah on top of the bed. This was their nightly routine and Yvonna tried her best to never miss a night when she wasn’t out of town on business.

She wasn’t the kindest human being, but when it came to loving her daughter, as best she could, she came through. Her mind was on the events of the day and she hated how as it stood, Carmen had gotten the last laugh. For now, bitch. She thought. For now.

“Mama,” Delilah was playing with the rings on Yvonna’s fingers, “I saw the two scary black lines again, when I went to Quita’s room. They were right outside the door.”

Yvonna held on to her hand and said, “Delilah, I told you to stop making things like that up.”

“But it’s true, mommy. I saw them at the daycare and now in front of Quita’s room.”

“Delilah! Stop it!” She looked at her seriously. “Now let’s talk about something else. Anything good happen to you today?”

  She frowned and said, “Kinda.”

  “Okay. What happened?”

“I think I have a boyfriend.” She smiled. “I think his name is Kelsi.”

Yvonna rolled her eyes and said, “Delilah, Kelsi is a piece of shit with legs and arms and you are not allowed to like him. Plus he’s too old for you.”

“Okay,” she paused, “even though I still like him anyway.” Delilah looked out ahead at the TV and said, “How do you kill somebody?” She played with the contents of her pink Juicy purse.

“What?” Yvonna asked shocked at her daughter’s question. It was like she was hitting her with blow after blow.

“If I wanted to kill somebody, how would I do it?” she threw the purse on the table next to the bed. “The question is very simple, mama. You should really go ahead and answer it.”

“Delilah, I don’t like that question and I’m your mother so I don’t have to answer. You on the other hand don’t have that option. Now why did you ask me something like that?” Delilah furiously pulled the covers over her head and clapped her eyes closed in frustration. “Okay, if you want to be that way.” Yvonna got out of the bed and walked to the door. She didn’t want her thinking she could always have her way. “Good night, Delilah.”

She sighed and pouted. “Night, mother.”

Feeling bad, she was unable to walk out of the door. “Is someone bothering you?”

“Yes, mama. Why else would I ask you how to kill? Think, mama.”

“Delilah, don’t get smart or I’ma smack you in the mouth, okay?” She lied, never wanting to beat her child. “You cute and all, but not cute enough to be rude.”

“Sorry, mama. It’s Little Davie. He says you’re crazy and that his mother read about you in the newspaper. Said you were claiming to have different personalities so you could kill as many people as you wanted. Said you got away with it and everything. And you know what I decided mama?”

  “What?”

“I decided after listening to Little Davie, that I understood why some people need to die. And I want to kill Little Davie. I want him to be my first. Ra Ra told me he would be a good person.”

“I told you Ra Ra is not real!!!!! Don’t say that again!”

“But I hate him! And he must go!”

Yvonna heard that the sins of a mother always found their way to her children. She had killed, betrayed and hurt many people in her lifetime. And she wondered, could all of her sins come home to roost on her child.

  “Delilah, killing is…killing is…”

“Go ahead and lie to her,” Gabriella said appearing to her left. “Go ahead and tell her that killing is wrong when you know that it’s right. How many bodies you have on you now? One hundred? Two hundred?”

“Shut up, Gabriella!” She hated when she appeared around Delilah.

“Mama,” she frowned, “Aunt Gabriella isn’t here.”

  “I know, baby.”

“Killing is a way of life, Yvonna. Stop lying to your daughter. Tell the mini you that she will continue the legacy. I’ve seen the future and in
it she carries a gun.”

“I said shut up!” She screamed and rubbed her temples vigorously. “Stop it!”

“Mama, is that your imaginary friend?”

  “What?”

“I said, is that your imaginary friend?” A hopeful smile spread on her face.

“There’s no such thing as imaginary friends. Hearing voices from other people means you are crazy and your mama isn’t crazy.”

Delilah looked sad but Yvonna, wanting to prevent the aura that was Gabriella from being around her said, “I love you, baby. Goodnight.”

She was out of the room and on to the next thing the moment the door closed. When she went into the living room, Terrell was sitting down watching TV and she sat next to him.

“Where’s Ming?” Yvonna asked, expecting to see her in the living room.

“She said she went to get some dick,” he laughed. “Boy is in her room sleep.” He paused, “And Onik is standing outside of the suite door. Baby, what do you really do for Yao?”

“Nothing. I just run for him sometimes.” She appeared uneasy.

“He sure goes through a lot to make sure you’re safe. With the bodyguards and all, and moving you from place to place.” She was silent not wanting to tell him that she was a paid assassin. Terrell fell back into the sofa, “So what’s up with you? Something on your mind?”
