“I didn’t want to risk anybody hearing anything,” he said. “I need to talk to you.”

  “About what?”

He looked around like he was making sure nobody was following him then stepped inside of my apartment. He immediately noticed all of the bags of food on my kitchen table.

“All that food and you haven’t eaten yet,” he said.

“Uriah’s working late at the office. But he’ll be here any moment now. I suggest you get out of here. Please, Cade. I don’t want to have to deal with you two getting into it again.”

  “Don’t worry. This won’t take long… Why don’t you have a seat?”

I walked the short distance to my living room and collapsed on the couch. My eyes were closed but I could still feel him walking back and forth just across from me. A kind of nervous pacing that I didn’t usually see from him.

  “How was work?” he asked.

“It was fine. I mean, I’m a little more tired than usual but nothing I can’t handle. The baby is still just a few weeks away. Male Omegas are only pregnant for a month before birth. I think I can work the whole time.”

“You might be able to work while you’re pregnant but after… Being a father is a full-time job.”

“I won’t be alone. I think Uriah and I will manage.”

  “Uriah…”

I could hear the skepticism in his voice.

“You really believe in him, huh? You really believe that he’s the one.”

“Cade, he got me pregnant. He wouldn’t have been able to do that if that weren’t the case.”

“There are plenty of single Omegas who raise children by themselves. You and I didn’t have any parents. I think just you alone will be able to do a hell of a job. I know you can.”

I slowly opened my eyes. My brother was still smiling at me.

“I love you,” I said. “I’ll always love you. But I just don’t understand, after all this time, why I haven’t been able to get through to you.”

  “I’m not—”

“If you say that you’re doing this for me one more time…”

He put his hands up as if to tell me that he understood.

“I have to tell you something,” he said. “About the deal.”

  “What is it?” I sighed.

  “Tomorrow night. It’s happening.”

I raised an eyebrow at my brother.

  “What’s happening?”

He pulled his phone out and started typing on it.

“The police are behind,” he said. “Rivera blew up his old facility but he already has one up and running. Things are moving a lot faster than even he anticipated. I’ll send you the address right now.”

My phone vibrated in my hand and I saw that Cade was telling the truth.

“Tomorrow night,” he repeated. “First shipment is going out. It’s moving onto the streets. Dealers will get their hands on it and start spreading it through the West Bay. Rivera has most of the territory in this part of town for himself now, so the money is gonna come in real fast. He’s got my first payment for me.”

  “Does he?”

“Yes. That’s what we were talking about at Brickstone earlier. Confirming everything as planned. It was quick.”

“Cade… Why are you telling me this?”

“Because I want you to know everything that’s happening. I know you don’t wanna hear me tell you that I’m doing this for you, so I won’t so anything. But you know that I would never betray you. I’m always on your side.”

  “I know you are but…”

I looked down at the message. All I could do was shake my head because I couldn’t figure out what he was really doing. If I asked him, I knew I wouldn’t get an answer. Cade was always up to something. This time was no different.

“I can’t keep this from Uriah,” I said. “I have to tell him.”

His throat shifted with a swallow and he nodded.

“Anybody who’s there with Rivera will go down, too. I can’t ask Uriah to go easy on you.”

“I don’t know Uriah very well. But he seems to make you happy.”

“He does. He’s a good man.”

The look in Cade’s eyes almost seemed like he was regretful. All of the worst kinds of thoughts started to swirl around in my head.

I jumped up from the couch and put my hands on his arms.

“Please,” I said. “Whatever you’re doing, don’t go through with it. This is a mistake. Don’t make me choose.”

  “Then don’t choose, Bryce.”

He smiled at me but that look on his face was still there. He narrowed his eyes like he was trying to hold something back. My mouth hung half-open as I tried to search for something else to say.

“Uriah’s probably coming soon,” he said. “I should probably get out of here.”

He turned around and left my apartment. I watched him head into the parking lot and get on his bike. He didn’t even wait a second before revving his engine and speeding into the darkness.

I stood at the doorway, not sure what to think. My phone vibrated in my palm again and knocked me out of my trance.

It was Uriah. He was on his way.

I clicked on his number then put the phone to my ear.

  “Bryce. Are you all right?”

  “I’m fine. I…”

  “What is it?”

“There’s something I have to tell you.”

  Chapter 23

  URIAH

“You don’t get to the point Rivera is at without making some enemies. He came to Snow Falls acting like he owned the place. You can imagine it didn’t sit very well with a lot of people.”

  “That’s not hard to imagine.”

“We started pushing people. Any dirt on what he was up to. That’s how we got the location of his facility.”

  “The meeting with Cade…”

“That’s right. We started pushing again but they were reluctant. They were scared. Rumors going around that Rivera already roughed up some people just looking for answers. But we eventually got a location out of one of them. Sorry for being late.”

Bryce grinned and I almost forgot everything we were both dealing with.

“You got the location then?” he said.

  “That’s right. There’s a meeting tomorrow night.”

“Then I suppose it’s not a big deal that Cade gave me the address.”

“No, that’s important. It confirms the information we were given. It also tells me that Cade will be there.”

  “Right…”

Bryce shook his head and sighed a deep breath through his nose.

“…I wish I knew what the hell is running through his damn mind.”

“I don’t know your brother as well as you do. He seems headstrong. He’s confident. He’s brave, too.”

“He’s always been like that. That was just the way we were raised. We had to grow up fast. Cade saw that everybody was pushing him so we worked together to push back.”

  “You guys got pretty far.”

“But this… Dealing with a man like Rivera is a line that he shouldn’t have crossed.”

Bryce stared at me with a worry in his eyes I would do anything to ease.

“What’s going to happen?” he asked.

“The PD is already setting up their operation. They’ll be ready to jump on the whole thing at the first sign of anything. The whole building will be surrounded. Every entrance and exit will be monitored. If Cade is in there…”

“…Then there’ll be no way for him to get out.”

“I’m sorry, Bryce. If there was any other way—”

“My brother made his choice. He made it a long time ago. If I couldn’t change his mind before, I can’t change his mind now.”

Bryce and I sat together on his couch. His living room was dark except for some light creeping in through the window.

I put a hand to his cheek. I trailed my fingers along his chin and he closed his eyes in response. I could almost feel how fast h
is heart was beating in his chest. His whole body was vibrating.

There was no more time to do anything else. Tomorrow night, everything was going down. I had to go through with it.

“You know… It’s funny,” Bryce started. “Cade was always the most important person in my life. He’d been there since the beginning. There are some regulars at the bar that I’m friends with but Cade was always the one I knew I could depend on no matter what. I could tell him anything and it always seemed like he would make everything better. I guess that’s why I feel like I need to be there for him now.”

“You’ve done everything you could do, Bryce.”

“I know. It’s okay. I have you now, too.”

  “You’ll always have me.”

“I need you here with me. I need you, Uriah. Just help me through this.”

I moved my face closer to his. I breathed softly on his lips.

“Anything,” I whispered. “Anything for you.”

I closed my eyes and pushed my lips on his. Just a kiss was enough to make everything around me disappear. The stress of the case. The threats from Rivera. The problems with Cade. The operation tomorrow night. There was only Bryce. And I wanted to do everything for him.

I stood up straight and wrapped my arms around him. I picked him up from the ground and carried him into his bedroom. Our tongues tangled together, loud kisses and soft moans filling my ears. The kind of music that ignited a fire inside of me.

We worked together to get our clothes off. Shirts. Jeans. Underwear. We tossed our outfits in every direction until we stood naked in front of one another. I stood at the edge of the bed and watched as Bryce took a seat before me.

He looked up at me. A handsome face with eyes as innocent as ever. But that was the only thing innocent about him now. He stuck his tongue and licked the underside of my hard shaft. The coolness of the night air brushing against my slick, tight skin sent a shudder through my spine.

Bryce grabbed my cock at the base and shifted his focus. He sealed his lips around the tip and sucked on it gently before lowering his face down. Every inch of my dick that disappeared into his mouth sent more and more violent trembles through my body. I gripped his shoulders to stop my buckling knees from knocking me over.

  “Bryce…”

I gasped his name. My throat dry, I was already beginning to work up a sweat even though he was doing all of the work. I turned to the side and through narrowed eyes, I saw the image of us in the mirror.

A young, fit, handsome man like Bryce, sitting naked on his bed, bobbing his head back and forth on my cock. It was something out of the best kinds of dreams a man like me could have. The sight of him sucking me off was enough to make me burst. And with how tight my balls were against my body, I knew I was close. I couldn’t hold back.

I grabbed Bryce’s arms and picked him up from the bed.

“I want you,” I whispered into his mouth between messy kisses. “I want you—”

“Just fuck me. Make me forget about all of this. Please…”

He fell back on the bed and flipped over onto all fours. He presented himself to me, ass pointed toward me with his entrance glistening wet. If his ass wasn’t enough, the rest of his body was something to marvel at. His belly protruded with the child I’d impregnated him with. Knowing that I’d taken him before only made my cock that much harder.

I crawled on the bed behind him and grabbed my shaft. I was so thick that I could barely fit my entire hand around it. I’d never wanted anything as bad as I wanted Bryce right now.

My tip moved to his asshole like a magnet. His wetness touched my tip and we gasped in unison. I pushed myself in and let him swallow my cock. I didn’t have to push very hard because he was so wet and slick that his asshole sucked me in.

I planted my cock comfortably inside him, burying myself to the hilt. I kept myself there and leaned forward. I mounted him completely, my chest pressed against his back. My hands moved down on top of his. I kissed his cheek and whispered into his ear.

“I want you. I want you so bad.”

  “Fuck me… Please… Alpha…”

The desperate pleas of an Omega were music to my ears. My body could do nothing else but comply.

My hips shifted back and forth. I moved slow to enjoy the friction of his wet walls tightening around my cock. The feeling was enough to send more violent shivers from my spine all the way down to my toes.

My body took over completely though. With a man like Bryce, I couldn’t hold back. I rammed my cock into him, each thrust harder than the last.

“Yes…” he gasped. “Just like that… Give it to me… Please…”

I slammed my cock into him so hard that he squealed with every thrust. I grunted harder and harder. Every deep stroke made the mattress shake underneath us.

My hands tightened around his as I held him in his position. I kissed the side of his cheek, breathing hard and whispering into his ear.

  “I can’t hold it… I’m gonna come…”

“Come… Wherever you want… Whenever you want… Just give it to me… Harder…”

The desperation in Bryce’s voice had never been so clear. It only made me work even harder. I was pounding Bryce so hard that I forced him prone onto the mattress. I clapped my hilt against his ass. The mattress squeaked like it was going to break but I didn’t care. I gave it to Bryce like I would die if I didn’t get to it.

  “Bryce… I…”

I moved away from him and pulled out. Bryce quickly flipped over onto his back and moved his cock toward mine. I grabbed his cock and he grabbed mine. I stared into his eyes before finally losing control.

I grunted hard and gritted my teeth. Bryce’s mouth fell open but stifled groans got caught in his throat before he finally let it out. We moaned in blissful agony, milking one another to an end. The thick ropes of semen fired out of me and landed on his belly, dripping down his skin in a thick, white glaze.

Bryce himself came more than I was used to seeing. The amount of come firing from his tip and covering my hand made it that much easier to squeeze it out of him.

He kept jerking me until there was nothing left inside of me. The two of us stared down at the sticky mess we’d made on one another. A combination of cum and sweat trickled on us. Lungs gasping for air. Hair messy. Hearts racing. We had pushed ourselves to the edge and found our desperation.

I collapsed on the bed next to him and tomorrow night immediately entered my thoughts. But being here with Bryce, I knew I couldn’t be worried. It wasn’t fair to him. I wouldn’t allow anything to ruin this moment together.

  “It always happens,” he sighed.

  “What?”

“This baby… He’s starving. I can feel it.”

“I did notice all of that food on the kitchen table.”

Bryce gave me a mischievous smirk that made me chuckle.

  “Late dinner?” he said.

  “Let’s do it.”

Nothing was more satisfying than being with Bryce. I planned on enjoying every second with him until the time came when I had to make the last decision.

  Chapter 24

  URIAH

“We’ve got everybody stationed along the perimeter for a few blocks. We’ve got eyes on every entrance and exit of that warehouse. Nothing will happen that we won’t see.”

“Except on the inside,” I said.

“Not on the inside. That’s why we got you. You up for this, kid? Last time it didn’t go so well.”

“Don’t worry. I’ve got my head on straight. We’ll catch Rivera red-handed no matter what.”

“Security will be a lot tighter this time.”

“It doesn’t matter. I know you’re all watching my back. Rivera tries anything with me, that’ll just make it worse for him.”

It was a quiet night in the West Bay. The entire city was on pause. Nothing was moving. Not the traffic in the streets. Not the clouds in the sky. All that was there was the cold night breeze blowing through the air.
<
br />   “All right,” I said. “No communication from this point on. Can’t risk them hearing anything. Just give me five good minutes and I’ll contact you.”

“I know you can do it, Kennedy.”

I grabbed the door handle to get out when Sanders grabbed me by the shoulder.

  “Hey.”

He held a donut up to me.

“Take a bite,” he said. “Sugar. For good luck.”

Even at a time like this, the old man still managed to make me smirk. I grabbed the donut and took a bite then tossed it back to him.

  “I’ll be right back.”

I got out of the car and braced myself. I pulled my hood over my head and looked up and down the streets. A car hadn’t passed by in so long. It was as if everybody in the West Bay had gotten the news and knew what was going down.

I moved quickly until I was in the darkened alleyways. The address of the meeting was in a storage warehouse a few miles from the last place. Most buildings in this area were abandoned and at night, that became even more apparent. With the police not bothering to patrol the area, it was the perfect place for someone like Rivera to do what he wanted to do. I grew more anxious with every passing second, knowing that tonight would be the end of it.

There were a couple of security guards standing at the door.

  “Dammit…”

I looked up but there was no fire escape to climb. There were no windows to sneak through. All I could do was search for another way inside.

I kept my distance as I made my way around the building. There were a couple more guards posted on the other side.

  Now what?

The only way I could get in was if I had a distraction. I had to get those guards away from the door.

I inched closer to the building, making sure to stay in the shadows of the alley I was in. I was only a few meters away from the entrance. The guards were at full attention, looking back and forth to make sure that nobody even got near.

  Something… A distraction…

  “Lost?”

My thoughts were interrupted by a familiar voice right next to me. Then I heard it. A hammer cocking on a handgun was the last thing anybody wanted to hear. And in most cases, it usually was the last thing anybody heard.

I slowly stood up straight and turned around. Cade stood right in front of me, his gun pointed right at my face.
