Startled, she looked up. “I’m sorry. I thought you’d gone to bed.”

“I wanted a drink.” He nodded at the glass. “I see you did, too.”

“Yes. I guess I was too wound up to sleep.”

“Me, too.” What kind of this conversation was this? He wanted take her with his mouth, eat her cream and drink her juices, and then fuck her senseless, and all he could manage was trite chitchat about why they couldn’t sleep? What would Micah do in this situation?

“We have to stop meeting like this, in studies and libraries, late at night.” Drew closed the door, strode across the room. He reached down and stole her glass. Taking a healthy slug, he let the fire slide down his throat. Siobhan watched silently, but he saw her pulse tick in that place where her throat met shoulder. He handed her back the glass, and she sipped, watching him the whole time. Finally, he took it back and emptied it, then set it aside before pulling her to her feet.

They kissed and kissed, soft touches and deep explorations. He tasted the whiskey on her lips and licked it from the roof of her mouth.

He backed her to the desk. With one arm he swiped folders and papers from the edge and lifted her. Her wrap was nothing to push aside, her gown a simple matter to wrest to her waist. His trousers took a bit more effort to release, with his erection pressing against the material so tightly, but he managed. With a single touch of her pussy to ensure she was wet he dove into her depths.

For just a moment, he froze, wonder stunning him. Then Siobhan wrapped her legs around his waist and flexed her hips, pulling him farther into her. She framed his face with her hands and leaned up to kiss him, this time forcing her tongue between his lips, and he sucked hard. Then he breathed again, and moved, thrusting hard, meeting her hips, pushing her into the desk. When she came and tantalized his cock with damn hard contractions, he gave in and shot his seed into her.

With a groan, he dropped his head to her breasts. With one part of him still semihard in the recesses of her woman’s passage and his head nestled between her breasts, he didn’t want to move. But the reality was, they were in the study, with mess strewn all over the floor, and she was back down on a hard desk, and holy mother of God, he had just fucked his brother’s wife.

Drew raised his head and saw her steady regard.

  “I’ve dreamed about this.”

  He nodded. “I have, too.”

  “I think Micah wanted it.”

Does he? Drew tried to remember exactly what Micah had said in the office yesterday. “I agree.” He hoped like hell he was right.

“So, where do we go from here?”

He smiled and kissed one of her breasts through her clothing. “To bed for now, if that’s what you want?” Pleased beyond measure when she nodded yes, he continued, “Then we’ll talk this all out when Micah returns. I know neither of us wants to do anything that would hurt you.”

“I want you, Andrew, and I want Micah. But I told him last night I wouldn’t do anything that would hurt him.”

“I feel the same. This is new to all of us, uncharted territory. We’ll have to figure it out together.”

He stood and fastened his trousers so he could walk. Then he took Siobhan in his arms and carried her to her bedroom where he began to explore her body, mapping the areas her gasps and moans told him gave her the greatest pleasure. Like the intrepid adventurer he felt, he noted the path she helped him lay out so he would remember each curve, each smooth, silky inch of skin, to return there again and again.

  Chapter Nine

Siobhan was trapped in a dream. She lay on barren desert. The sun beat down, and she was hot, unbearably hot. Sweat soaked her naked skin. She thrashed her head left and right, and from the corner of her eye she saw a snake slither toward her. She’d never liked snakes, and not only because of Sunday school teachings relating snakes with sin. However, this snake didn’t frighten her. Neither did the idea of sin, now.

“Please,” she begged, “please, yes.” She reached her arms over her head, giving the serpent complete control of her body. She licked her dry lips and tried to control the yearning, the need, that threatened to overpower her. The snake slid over her breasts. Her sensitive nipples sent warnings to her pussy of what was to come, though she didn’t yet understand it herself. The only thing certain in her mind was a terrible desire, like thirst after days without water.

Its tongue darted out, touching her lips.

She looked up and saw a face. Hair black as coal dangled over his forehead. Eyes, blazing with a piercing blue fire, saw into her damaged soul. His jaw was tight with lust. This was no desert. She was in hell, and Satan himself, surely a serpent of the highest order, reigned over her. Looking down his body she saw his cock, hard and long and aimed for her.

Arching her back, she offered herself to him, twisting, writhing beneath him, displaying her breasts, tempting him with her pussy. She had no pride, no moral certitude. Satan or not, he possessed what she wanted.

Siobhan extended her tongue, and Satan used his own to tease her, twist around hers, and invite her to places dark and unknown. She longed to go. God help her, she needed to go wherever he led.

Finally, he slid down over her abdomen and to the place where she wanted him to be. She spread her legs and waited for blessed relief.

It came in seconds. He sought out her clitoris and used his mouth to tease it to the point of explosion. When he poised his cock at the entrance to her pussy, she came awake in an instant.

Micah’s dark head—or maybe Andrew’s—dipped and swayed, licking her nearly to distraction. She stroked his head and lifted her hips to his hungry mouth.

She was ready, so ready. He teased her entrance with his fingers, pressing the spot just inside that could jolt her into an orgasmic paroxysm in seconds. With his other hand under her, he bedeviled her bum hole, stroking it, probing for entrance, and gaining just a bit. She wanted it. She wanted it all.

  “Don’t stop.”

Raising above her, her lover inserted his cock, inching inside her at a deadly slow pace.

  “More. More!”

“Patience,” he whispered, sounding like neither Micah nor Andrew. Perhaps it truly was Satan penetrating her in the darkness of the room.

Finally they lay groin to groin. His labored breathing filled the room as he withdrew just as slowly. She wanted to scream with frustration. He should be inside, all the way inside, into her very soul. And moving, always moving.

He glided in again, keeping to his own pace. She jerked her hips, thrusting up, drawing down, nearly screaming in frustration with how close she was to relief. She closed her eyes to concentrate on reaching her goal. Almost there, almost there…

Then she fell, as though off one of the cliffs she’d seen coming through the western mountains, falling, falling, her breath dragged out of her, and her body feeling every exhilarating moment. She let go and let it happen. If she died at the end of the drop, it would be worth it.

When Siobhan opened her eyes, she gasped for breath openmouthed in her bed. Sweat covered her skin, and she held on to the spindles of the headboard with clenched knuckles.

Her lover poised above her like a god. Her legs were wrapped around him. He leaned back slightly, and his cock slid from her pussy.

“I thought when we started you were awake. You even told me not to stop when I kissed your pussy. I’m sorry to have taken you while you slept.” He lowered himself to her side, but wrapped his arm around her and pulled her close.

“Don’t be sorry.” She wrapped one arm across his waist, where his skin was cooling. He tugged the covers over them and rested his head on hers. “It was quite different,” she added.

  “Different how?”

She couldn’t tell him about the snake—even to her the analogy seemed obvious but also a little wanton and a lot sinful. The snake, after all, represented evil and sin in every connotation. Sighing, she knew the analogy to be apt. She wanted her husband’s brother and her husband.

  “Very
intense,” she said. “My body was consumed with fire.”

  “Did it scare you?”

“I wanted it,” she blurted out before thinking. “I mean, it seemed comforting.”

He chuckled. “Comforted wasn’t how I felt. I wanted to be so far inside you that you would feel me in every part of your body.”

Siobhan swallowed her pride. “That’s how I felt, too,” she whispered. “You set me on fire. Under my skin, you raged through my veins. You were in the air I breathed. Your scent filled my nostrils. I wanted you with a strength that frightened me. And yet…I’m so ashamed.”

He lay quietly for a moment and then said, “You didn’t know who you were with, did you?”

She shook her head, too overcome to speak. In no way could she tell him that at one point she thought she was having sex with Satan, and that she lusted for more.

  “It’s Andrew,” he said.

“I know that now. I’m so sorry,” she mumbled.

Instead of rising and stomping away in disgust, he pulled her closer to his side. “Don’t be sorry. If you truly want to be part of the two of us, we’ll spend many nights together or separately. With the two of us inside you, you’ll experience this again only more intensely. If there’s one thing the Berwick twins know, it’s how to please a woman. And you are the one woman we both want to please.”

“Oh,” she said, and drifted off to sleep.

  * * * *

Good God! Siobhan wore him out and wrung him dry. After the fucking in the study—for no pretty words could transform their primal, earthy actions into anything other than fucking—they retired to her bedroom where they came together again. During the night she woke him, moaning and writhing, practically begging him to take her, and he obliged with passion he’d rarely known.

Just minutes ago, she wakened him once more, this time with her mouth on him. Feverishly, she sucked him, licked him, and took as much of him as she could handle. He was so surprised, before he could stop himself he came in her mouth. She choked trying to take his cum, but still kissed his cock before crawling up his body and cuddling by his side.

She was fast asleep now, whereas he lay awake mulling over his position in their threesome.

Obviously, Micah had the lawful claim on Siobhan. Siobhan herself seemed to have other ideas. Yet even though she had blown him moments ago, yes, and taken him into her body, she had emphasized that she would do nothing that hurt Micah. Did she love him? He didn’t know if he wanted her to or not. Loving Micah might mean not wanting him any longer, and the sad fact was, she’d spoiled him for any other woman. From the moment he held her in his arms at her wedding reception, he’d known he was a fucked man.

The precariousness of his position bothered him. If either she or Micah changed their minds about their arrangement, he would lose not only this remarkable woman but his brother because he couldn’t remain here, wouldn’t stay in the business. He didn’t believe the Southern girl from the North Carolina mountains had any inkling that she held more than a marriage certificate and two randy men’s cocks in her power. She controlled so much more.

One more worry crossed his mind—the servants. How his man, Martin, and the rest of the staff would deal with this new love triangle, he hadn’t a clue, but the three of them should face it as soon as Micah returned. Until then, he owed it to Siobhan to protect her reputation as much as possible.

Weak light showed through a break in the curtains. He disentangled himself gently and rose to dress. Slipping into his trousers and pulling on his shirt, he looked around the dim bedroom, ensuring he had everything that belonged to him. Instead of leaving the room by her door, he exited into Micah’s room, dark and still, and then to the quiet hallway—where he met Ching Li, Siobhan’s maid. Shit! So much for discretion.

She bowed. He gave a kind of abbreviated bow in return. She kept her eyes downcast, so he couldn’t tell what she thought.

“In my country,” she said in a low voice, still staring toward the floor, “a man have many wives. Why should my mistress not receive blessings from many men?” With that, she opened the door to Siobhan’s room and disappeared inside.

Drew heaved a sigh of relief. If everyone in the household had such open minds, there would be no trouble at all.

Later that day, try as he might to keep his mind on business, the figures in the ledgers eluded him. Around noon he gave up. The woman had him in knots, a situation in which he’d never found himself. He’d been through any number of lustful infatuations, but no woman had ever distracted him so much he couldn’t work.

  “Chester!”

“Yes, sir?” The office manager stuck his head in the door.

“I’m going out.” Grabbing his coat off the rack he escaped, leaving an astounded Chester behind.

The fresh breeze struck him. Now that he was on the sidewalk, he hadn’t a clue what he intended to do. If he had any idea where Siobhan was, he would “accidentally” run into her and take her to lunch. Or what he really wanted, to bed her in a lunchtime tryst. But simply spending time with her would be the next best thing.

“You’re a grown man. Stop acting like an idiot.”

“What?” A stranger stopped and turned to him.

“Sorry, I wasn’t talking to you.” Get control of yourself, for God’s sake.

With no goal in mind, he caught a cab and rode to the docks on the other side of town where the fishermen brought in their catches. He bought a packet of crab meat and a hunk of bread and settled on the sea wall to watch the men work. Within an hour of lunching and feeding the gulls the remainder of his bread, a great weight had lifted from his shoulders. Life was changing. It was high time he changed with it.

In all his years of working for his father, he didn’t remember ever taking off an afternoon to do nothing. That kind of thing was for Micah, who worked hard for five to six hours a day on the factory floor, but then headed for the river or into town or wherever he found inspiration for his passion, his art, that week. Micah had asked Drew to accompany him years ago, but after so many negative responses, he’d accepted the fact that Drew didn’t take time off. He worked ten or more hours a day, put in weekends, and traveled frequently to help make the family business a success. And for what? Thinking back, he’d hardly ever found greater satisfaction than he had right here, taking in the clean salt air off the Bay and letting his mind wander. Who would have thought? Micah had it right all this time. Life was to be enjoyed. Gulped, not sipped.

And when he reached home later that evening, assuming Siobhan’s willingness, he would begin worshipping the wonder of life by sharing the night without self-doubt or guilt with his gorgeous, sexy sister-in-law.

  Chapter Ten

Siobhan wished she was willing to share with the men the news that she was also a business owner in the city. Then she could claim part of the study in which to work on her books instead of keeping them in her vanity drawer.

She added up the day’s orders and checked her bank deposit again. Assuming that day’s orders all went through, she would have over ten thousand dollars in the bank by the end of the week. She nearly swooned at the figure. And all in a few short weeks!

It seemed women here in the West desired fashion as much as women in the East. And Mai’s work, as well as the styling of their newest member, Lo Li, could best any dressmaker Siobhan knew in New York or Boston. Their styles were slightly different than the norm, with touches of hand embroidery and the most amazing combinations of color and fabric.

Another thing that satisfied her about the shop was that her employees—as well as Ching Li—all benefitted from the shop’s success. She paid them a generous salary, but also shared profits. Mai had already moved from her crowded building into better quarters. Siobhan felt she had found not only colleagues but friends in her staff.

A soft tapping came at her door. Siobhan hoped it was Andrew and not Ching Li coming back to attend to something she forgot.

She closed her ledger and stowed the book and
day’s proceeds in her drawer. “Come in.”

A dark form with his coal black hair and black robe, he came into the room silently. He could have been Micah. She wished for both of them, so alike, so different. Dark, sober Andrew and sweet, fun-loving Micah who made her laugh. She wanted both of them in every way—around her, inside her, a part of her.

Siobhan stood from her dressing table, wearing nothing but her shift. Earlier that evening, she had determined how and where to pose to present the most seductive picture. She decided to keep the light at her back, which should produce a tempting silhouette for his examination. And he did examine her, slowly and thoroughly.

“Are you only going to look at me, Andrew?”

Only then did his gaze meet hers. He appeared calm and totally possessed of his faculties. Hardly the picture of a man bent on debauchery. Her heart sank a little.

“No, my dear. I do not intend only to stare, though you present a seductive image sure to drive a man crazy.”

It was then he took action. Striding to the bed, he ripped the covers off. Her bedtime wrapper lay across the chaise in the corner. He removed the tie and then turned toward her.

Her breath hitched. She was the rabbit and he the lion. He stalked her, as surely as the cat did the hare. The difference was she wanted to be caught, to be handled and eaten alive. More than anything, she wanted to be at the mercy of the beast.

For a moment, she quaked inside. Did her desire to experience everything sexual with the men she cared for make her a bad person? She had been raised in the Church and told since childhood that the body was evil and that sex was only for procreation. Did that mean she was never to feel, to enjoy being touched and loved in every way? She closed her eyes as he took her lips, his breath hot and his lips hard and demanding. No, this couldn’t be wrong. She didn’t believe it. She wouldn’t let it be.

He ripped the shift from her. “If you and Micah don’t stop tearing my clothes, I’ll have to spend more time at the dressmaker’s.”
