by Gregory Gates

Gabe looked puzzled. “You don’t know?”

Jeff shook his head. “Know what?”

  “Sue hasn’t told you?”

“Told me what? What are you talking about?”

  “I thought you knew.”

He shook his head and frowned. “Knew what? Gabe, get to the point, you’re making me nervous.”

She glanced down for a moment, then back into his eyes, and then whispered, “Jeff, I’ve never had sex, I’m a virgin. I don’t know what to do.”

Jeff stared at her, wide eyed. “You’re kidding.”

  “No.”

  “Never?”

  She shook her head.

“Not even like, you know, making out in the front seat of a car?”

She shrugged. “The closest I ever got was parked in front of the house after my high school prom. My date started kissing me, which was… kind of okay, I guess. But then he started groping me. I slapped him, jumped out of the car and ran into the house.”

Jeff looked askance at her. “Huh. Gabe, you are devastatingly beautiful, incredibly talented, extremely well educated, intelligent beyond measure and, dare I say, very desirable. So, pardon my curiosity but, how’d you make it to 30 without ever having sex?”

She looked away and shrugged again. “Well, in high school I was a good girl. And in college and grad school I was busy, and nobody ever came along that lit a fire in me. Then one day you appeared and took me out of circulation and… here we are. So it’s partly your fault.”

He smiled. “I’ll be damned. Sorry about that.”

“I’m not.” She looked into his eyes longingly. “You’re the only man I’ve ever loved, the only man I’ve ever wanted. You’re not, um, disappointed, are you? I mean, that I have no experience?”

Jeff smiled softly at her, “No, Gabe, I’m not disappointed.”

“You’re not going to go bragging to your buddies at the bar about how you conquered a virgin?”

“Uh, no. In case you haven’t noticed, the nearest bar is about 90 million miles from here.”

  “No, I mean later.”

“No, I’m not going to do that.” He paused and gazed her into her eyes.

  “What?”

“Oh, I was just savoring the moment.”

  She frowned. “Savoring what moment?”

“Well, I’ve known you for four and half years and we finally found a subject that I know more about than you do.”

She grabbed his coveralls with one hand and punched him in the arm with the other.

  “Ouch.”

Jeff grasped her arms, pulled her to him, and kissed her, passionately, lovingly. Gabe wrapped her arms around him and responded, ardently. When their lips parted, she just floated in front of him, eyes closed, mouth open, panting. “Is there a fire in your belly now?”

  She nodded.

“Would you like to do something about it?”

She nodded again, opened her eyes and gazed into his. “Uh huh.”

“Me too.” He smiled softly. “Your place or mine?”

Gabe cringed and bit her lip. “Um, is your dirty laundry floating around in your room?”

  He chuckled. “No.”

“Alright, then we better go to your place.”

  He grinned. “Okay.”

As they pulled into the truss, heading for Jeff’s room, he shouted down the tunnel, “Hey…”

A moment later, Abby and Susan stuck their heads in. “Yes?” said Susan.

Jeff grinned, sheepishly. “Uh, yeah. Um, Gabe and I are gonna, um… go get better acquainted. We may be a while.”

Abby chuckled. “Better acquainted? Is that what you call it?” She shook her head.

  Jeff waved. “Uh, yeah. Later.”

“If you need a hand,” said Susan, “just holler.”

  Gabe’s head jerked around. “What?”

“You’re weightless, this may not be easy.”

  “Eeew.”

Jeff smiled. “Um, thanks, but we’ll figure it out.”

  Susan shrugged. “Just saying…”

“Yeah. Bye.” He grabbed Gabe around the waist.

Gabe stared at him. “Is she serious?”

“Yeah, probably. She’s got a point, this may take some work.”

“Jeff,” she groaned, “it’s my first time. I don’t want it to be work, I want it to be enjoyable.”

He kissed her cheek. “Relax, it will be. I promise.”

They pulled into Jeff’s cabin and he closed the hatch behind them. Gabe floated in the middle of the room, her back turned to him. He swung over to his desk, turned on the reading lamp, selected his favorite Joaquin Rodrigo playlist on the computer, turned off the overhead light, drifted over to Gabe, tucked her three-foot-long braid between them, wrapped his arms around her waist, and started kissing her neck. “How’s that?”

Gabe leaned her head back on Jeff’s shoulder. “Hmmm, nice.”

  “The music to your liking?”

“Of course. Zarabanda lejana. You know how much I like this.”

“Yeah. You remember the first time I played it?”

She chuckled. “Yes, at the villa. Why do you keep asking me if I remember things?”

“Well, because you don’t remember everything.”

“No, I don’t remember things that aren’t important to me.” She tilted her head back and kissed his cheek. “But Jeffrey, you’ve been the most important thing in my life since the day we met. Do you think there is anything at all about you that I don’t remember?”

Jeff nibbled her ear and whispered, “That’s going to get me into a lot of trouble one of these days, isn’t it?”

  Gabe smiled and nodded. “Probably.”

“Uh huh. I suppose I can also safely delete the phrase ‘I didn’t say that’ from my vocabulary?”

She giggled. “Yes, you won’t be needing that again.”

He slowly groped his way up across her abdomen and ribs, finally cupping her breasts.

  She gasped softly.

“Oh, you feel really nice.” He nibbled her earlobe and whispered, “You’re not gonna slap me, are you?”

“No. I’ve dreamt so many times of feeling your hands on me.”

  “I thought you didn’t dream.”

  “Daydreams. Don’t stop.”

Jeff gave a tiny chuckle. “As you wish. Just a second.” He reached up to her collar, grabbed the zipper of her jumpsuit, pulled it all the way down, pulled the top off her shoulders and arms to her waist, then returned to her breasts, and fondled her very hard nipples through her sports bra. “Better?”

  Gabe moaned, “Uh huh.”

“See, it’s not so difficult. Just little steps.”

  She panted, “Uh huh.”

Jeff raised her arms and grasped the hem of her sports bra.

  “Wait.”

  “Huh?”

“Just a minute.” Gabe reached into her pocket and pulled out her glasses case, took them off, stuck them in the case, and shoved it back in her pocket. “I don’t think I’ll be needing those for a while.”

  Jeff smiled. “Probably not.”

She raised her arms over her head. “Okay.”

He pulled the bra out over her breasts, then over her head and arms, and tossed it in the direction of the wall, where it stayed, floating. He resumed the neck and earlobe nibbling and breast fondling. Gabe leaned her head back on his shoulder and moaned, “Oh, that’s nice.”

He smiled. “Gabriel, do you know what would please me most?”

  She shook her head.

“What would please me most is you allowing me to please you. Will you let me do that?”

Gabe bit her lip and nodded.

“Good. Because if I can do that, everything else will fall into place. Okay?”

  She nodded again.

“Alright. So, here’s what I want you to do. If I’m not pleasing you, I want you to tell me what I’m doing wrong, and we’ll fix it. Okay? Will you do that?”

&nb
sp; She whispered. “Yes.”

Jeff slowly ran his hand down across her belly, slipped it inside her panties, down between her thighs, and began caressing her.

Gabe gulped a breath and gasped aloud, “Oh god! Uhn.”

“Mmmm, seems I found the right spot.”

“Uh huh!” After a minute or two, she grasped his arm with one hand and the hand on her breast with the other. Her body quivered. “Faster.”

  He complied.

Another minute later, her body convulsed as she climaxed. “Oh! Oh god!”

Jeff whispered, “There, that’s the idea.” When she was finished, hanging limp and breathing hard, he withdrew his hand, turned her around, clutched her firmly, and kissed her, long and deep. When their lips finally parted, he gazed into her eyes and smiled. “Nice?”

She nodded. “Uh huh. Very nice.”

“Good. I hope you’re not worn out, cause we’re just getting started.”

Gabe bit her lip and grinned, then shook her head.

“Okay.” He worked his way down her body, pulled off her socks and jumpsuit and, finally her panties, and discarded the lot. “Oh my.”

  “What?”

  “You really are blonde.”

She gently slapped the top of his head and giggled. “Of course I am.”

He worked his way back up to face her. “Okay, your turn.”

  Gabe undressed him.

Jeff pulled her up and embraced her again.

  She gasped, “Oh my god!”

  “What?”

“I can’t believe how good you feel.”

  “That’s kind of the idea.”

  Gabe moaned, “Yeah.”

Jeff quickly discovered that in the weightlessness of space, the term ‘foreplay’ took on an entirely new dimension. As Gabe floated in the middle of the room, he nuzzled her flaxen patch, then spread her legs and pulled down between them. His mass being slightly greater than hers put them into a slow spin.

She groaned, “Oh god, I’m gonna get dizzy.”

“Close your eyes.” He began pleasuring her with his tongue and lips.

Gabe shuddered and gasped, “Oh my god!”

He reached up and fondled her breasts as he slowly worked her to a frenzy. She let out a soft cry as what definitely appeared to be another orgasm racked her body. When she seemed to be finished, he pulled her back into an embrace and gave her a long, sloppy kiss.

She reared back a bit and grinned, then wiped his face with her hand. “Your face is all wet, and you taste like me.”

  He grinned. “What a coincidence.”

Gabe leaned her forehead against his and whispered, “I’ve only dreamt of how that would feel, and it feels so much better than I ever imagined.” She clung tightly to him. “Oh god Jeffrey, if I’d known then what I know now, I never would have run out on you that first day at Wrentham House.”

  “No?”

“No.” She smiled. “I would’ve sneaked into your bed the first night.”

“Wow. Then I guess we have four years to make up.”

  “Uh huh.”

Jeff nodded toward the bed. “Well, would you like to join me in bed now?”

She smiled wantonly and nodded. “Yes.”

He glanced around and couldn’t find anything in the room he could reach. “Um, we’re stuck.”

Gabe giggled. “Are we gonna need Sue after all?”

“Nah.” Jeff took hold of her waist and gave her a little jerk to the left, then a gentle shove. “Grab the bed.” Gabe drifted toward the bed while he drifted toward the opposite wall. When he reached the wall, Jeff shoved off toward the bed and arriving, grabbed Gabe. “There, that wasn’t so hard.”

She smiled. “I wonder if Isaac Newton ever contemplated this problem?”

Jeff laughed. “My guess would be… no.” He glanced at her breasts and chuckled. “Um, I see what you mean about momentum.”

She looked down, giggled, and grabbed her breasts, halting their bobbing.

“Ah, shucks. That’s actually kind of entertaining.”

She snickered and shook her head.

He switched the fan at the foot of the bed to HIGH, they squeezed under the jersey coversheet, and the foreplay continued. After a time, Jeff slid atop her, spread her legs with his, and very gently entered her.

  “Uhn!”

  “You okay?”

  “Yes.”

  “I’m not hurting you?”

“No. Oh god, it feels wonderful.”

Jeff wrapped his arms and legs around Gabe, and they made love. In time, when the climax had passed, they kissed. He reared up and frowned. “Your mouth’s bleeding.”

Gabe grinned sheepishly and whimpered. “I bit my lip.”

Jeff licked her lips. “Now, see what you’ve been missing?”

“Uh huh. It’s not at all like I thought it would be.”

“What did you think it would be like?”

  “Painful, quick, and unsatisfying.”

“Well, maybe you should have submitted to your high school prom date.”

She wrinkled her nose. “Eeew. No, he was a nerd.”

He laughed softly. “Then why’d you go with him?”

“Because he was the only one that asked me, and I really wanted to go. I wanted to do something… normal, just for once.”

Jeff frowned. “Why didn’t anyone else ask you? That’s kind of hard to believe.”

“Because everybody in school hated me.”

  “Huh? Why?”

“Because all our teachers graded on a curve.”

  “Uh oh.”

“Yeah. By my junior year there was me…” she shrugged, “and the lower 50%.”

Jeff laughed, “So…” He couldn’t stop laughing. “Sorry, that’s hilarious. So, why’d the nerd ask you?”

“Because he was a nerd, and every other girl he asked turned him down. Besides, I was six inches taller than him.”

He still couldn’t stop laughing. “What’s that got to do with it?”

Gabe smiled. “When we danced close, he could rest his head on my chest.”

“Ah ha, I see. That would do it.”

They rolled on their sides and Gabe cuddled, snuggling in Jeff’s arms. “Oh, I can’t begin to describe how good I feel.”

  “Well, that’s good.”

“Uh huh.” They lay quietly together for a time, then Gabe sighed and chuckled softly.

  “What?”

“Oh, now I understand why Abby was so upset that afternoon by the pool when she took your car and stormed off.”

  Jeff smiled softly. “Oh?”

“Yes. I can’t imagine going six and a half years without making love with you again.”

He nodded. “If you’d felt that way then, would you have gone with her?”

“No. I would have waited until the house was dark and quiet, then sneaked down the hall and into your room.”

“Ah. You always could have done that anyway.”

“I was afraid of what you’d think of me.”

“I told you a long time ago that I loved you.”

“I know, but I was still afraid.”

“You’re not afraid anymore, are you?”

  “No.”

  “Good.”

Gabe kissed him again, then yawned. “Sorry. Suddenly I’m sleepy.”

Jeff smiled. “It’s all that exercise.”

  She grinned.

  “Go to sleep.”

“Will you be here when I wake up?”

He kissed her. “You know I will.”

Sometime later Jeff awoke to the tickle of Gabe’s fingernails gently scratching his chest. “Hi.”

She smiled. “Hi. Did I wake you?”

  “Uh huh.”

  “I’m sorry.”

He yawned and stretched. “No, that’s fine.” He glanced at his watch. “Good grief, almost five.”

“Yeah, we’ve been asleep all afternoon. I can’t imagine what Abby and Sue must be thinking.”r />
  Jeff grinned. “I can.”

  Gabe giggled.

“I don’t know about you, but I’m hungry.”

“Yeah, me too.” She frowned. “But first, um,” she bit her lip, “I need to use the bathroom.”

“Okay. Meet me in the kitchen?”

  “Alright.”

Jeff started to slip out of the bed, but Gabe hung on to him.

  “What?”

“I don’t want to let go of you.”

He kissed her and grinned. “I’m not going far. No place to go.”

  “I suppose not. Okay.”

They got up, dressed, Gabe headed for the bathroom, and Jeff for the commons. Pulling through the truss, he found Abby and Sue at the table, wearing soft smiles and staring at him. He drifted over to the table and sat. “Uh… hi.”

“Hi.” Abby smirked, and said with a note of sarcasm, “Have a pleasant afternoon, did you?”

He nodded slowly. “Very. Thanks for asking.”

She looked off to the side.

Jeff glanced back and forth at them. “Um, are you two gonna be able to deal with this?” His eyes settled on Susan.

  She nodded. “Yes, of course.”

He looked back at Abby. “Abigail?”

She continued staring off for a moment, then nodded and looked at Jeff. “Yeah. Just don’t forget we’re here.”

He smiled softly, reached across the table and took both their hands. “How could I?”

She shrugged. “Alright then. Where’s Gabe?”

“Bathroom. Be here in a minute.”

Susan raised her eyebrows, questioningly. “All went well?”

Jeff chuckled. “Yeah, all went well.”

  “No, um, difficulties with microgravity?”

He shook his head. “No, a few minor adjustments. It’s not that hard. The fact we’ve been living in microgravity for six months probably helped. I think we all have a pretty good grasp of Newton’s Third Law by now. And of course, being a physicist, Gabe understands it better than anyone.”

Abby and Sue both grinned and chuckled.

Gabe popped out of the truss, took her seat at the table and, grinning sheepishly, glanced around at everyone. “Hi.”

The three of them smiled. “Hi.” Abby and Susan stared at her inquisitively.

  “What?”

Abby shook her head. “The expression on your face. Somebody get a camera.”

Gabe blushed and covered her cheeks with her hands. “Oh god, is it that obvious?”
