Jessie claims that the third boy was never raped but that he may have been the one that Damion took his penis and put it in his mouth (the young boys penis). Jessie said at one point Damion and Jason had one of the boys in a headlock with one he believed had his penis in the boys mouth while the other one had him from behind. Jessie said he did not mention the "ears" to the police, only a headlock. Jessie also mentioned that "sticks" had been used to beat the boys.
At one point, Jessie said that Jason had a "bucktype locking knife" and "cut it all off and threw it in the weeds" saying the boy was alive and tied at this point and that he was surprised blood did not get on him because blood went everywhere and he was about a "car length" away. Jessie said "they" threw him into the water and "he was still squirming around in the water" at which point he left. Jessie said he does not know what happened to the knife. Jessie said he believed the other two boys were not conscious when he left but were not in the water.
Jessie also stated that Jason called him "later" and asked him why he left and he told them he could not watch it any longer. He claims the only other contact with Jason and Damion were a couple of times at the skating rink but they were mad at him.
OTHER INFORMATION
Jessie claims his lawyers asked him if he was innocent and that he had lied to them. Jessie said the boys had a clubhouse and that's why he thinks they were in the area.
When talking about the "meetings" they had, Jessie could remember about nine people showing up and at one particular meeting "Kent" was to bring a dog "as his treat," the dog was taken away in the woods where it was killed and skinned. The dog was brought back and cooked in something that looked like Crisco in a "washing machine type bucket." Jessie said he eat a little one time and got sick. "Kent" was to catch the dog at the trailer park and Jessie believed they had killed about four dogs altogether. Jessie said Jason and Damion would both have sex with Dominique [Domini] at these meetings.
Jessie said he lied about the time and the rope to "trick the police and to see if they were lying."
Jessie says he feels the other boys tricked him into what he did.
Jessie claims he has felt sorry for what has happened and talks as if he wants to testify against the other boys so they will not go free and to help himself.
Jessie did say the photograph showed to him was a group picture of the boys "riding" their bicycles in front of a house.147

Bible Confession
Any observers of the West Memphis Three case who have doubts about the original confession of Jessie Misskelley on June 3rd, 1993 should consider this confession, commonly referred to as the "Bible Confession." Recorded in Pine Bluff, Arkansas by Detective Stidham, Misskelley put his hand on a Bible and reveals in graphic detail the events of May 5th, 1993, describing the route to the crime scene where he disposed of his Evan Jones whisky bottle (which was later found), and includes details such as Damien masturbating over one of the boys "just to be sick.” The entirety of the this lengthy confession is located in Appendix B.

She knew Jessie Misskelley, Jr., who she reffered to as a "weasel" and stated to police that on one occasion he had forced her son to huff gas. In her opinion, Jessie had no morals and that she has known his father to allow young girls to stay in Jessie Jr.'s room where they had sex. She referred to Jessie, Jr. as very mean and abusive. Comer added that she believed Jessie and Damien could have been responsible for the murders.148

Police Interview
L.G. Hollingsworth was seen washing clothes at the laundromat on the night of May 5th and was brought to the West Memphis Police Station for an interview with Detective Sudbury. He verified the stories of Narlene and Dixie Hollingsworth and provided additional information about Damien Echols and his penchant for ultra-violence:
L. G.: Damien asked me could I kill somebody, and I says, “I don’t think I could kill them unless they did something really bad to me.” I said, “I’d probably hurt them bad first.” And then I says, “Why you ask?” He says, “Cause I’m thinking of killing somebody.” I says, “Why you thinking of killing somebody?” He says, “They’re fucking with me.” That’s what he told me. I says, “If there’s some man, then you just go and you beat his ass or you get your ass whooped. If it’s some little teenager, you tell his parents or you call the police.” I say, “You don’t need to do that, because that’s not cool, you know. You’ll go to jail for that.” And we keep walking and stuff and he says, “Just say that you would kill somebody.” I says, “OK, say I would kill somebody.” He says, “How would you do it?” I says, “Well it depends.” He says, “What do you mean it depends?” I said, “It depends on what they did to me to make me kill them.” I says, “I’d probably put a bullet in their head, and if not I’d probably break both of their arms and make them wish they was dead.” And um I says, “Well, what’s up?” or you know, “Would you kill somebody?” And he says, “Yeah.” He says, “I’m thinking of killing somebody” is what he told me. I said, “OK,” I says, “you don’t need to do that. That’s gonna fuck your life up.” I says, “it will mess you up altogether.” He says, “Well” like that, and we left it at that and we kept walking for a little ways more. And he says, “If I was gonna kill somebody, I would tie ‘em up, beat ‘em and fuck ‘em. That way they would know that I’m not fucking with nobody. You know, I’m a straight up kind of guy.”
Sudbury: Now who made this statement?
L.G.: Damien Echols.
Sudbury: OK, and how do you know Damien Echols?
L.G.: I know him from his girlfriend Domini. That’s kind of my cousin.
Sudbury: [talking over] And what kind of relation? OK. She’s your cousin and --
L.G.: Kinda sorta.
Sudbury: And he, what’s their relationship?
L.G.: They’re boyfriend and girlfriend.
Sudbury: OK. So this is the same Damien Echols that you’re talking about?
L.G.: Yes, sir.
Sudbury. OK, so go ahead.
L.G.: And alright, so I said, “Well look, you don’t need to do that, you know.” Alright. So we walked on. Alright. And then May the 6th, I think it was May the 6th, when I did talk to Damien he was just like kind of sitting there. He was kind of nervous –
Sudbury: Where did you see him on May the 6th?
L.G.: At Domini’s house in Lakeshore.
Sudbury: And I believe you said you knew it to be May the 6th because a family member had a car accident on the 5th?
L.G.: Yes, on the 5th my aunt had a car accident, and I was in the car with her.
Sudbury: OK. So it was the day after that?
L.G.: The day after.
Sudbury: OK, and you saw him where?
L.G.: At Domini’s house.
Sudbury: OK. And what was your conversation with him that day?
L.G.: That day we sat and I talked to him for a minute and then I left. And I came over there like thr
ee times and they were still whatever they was doing, you know, sitting and talking. So I didn’t say too much and I left again. Anyway, he was on the corner, sitting on the corner and my cousin had ran away. You know, she ran back in the woods back there. They was mad at each other.
Sudbury: Your cousin Domini had ran away from Damien?
L.G.: Yes.
Sudbury: This is on the 6th?
L.G.: This is on the 6th.
Sudbury: OK.
L.G.: And I asked him, I said “Hey,” I says. I don’t know why but something made me ask him. I asked him, “Hey,” you know we was sitting talking. I asked him what’s going on between him and his girlfriend. And he says, “Nothing, you know, it’s a bunch of bullshit.” And I said, “OK,” and I said, “Are you still thinking of killing somebody?” like that. He says, “No I ain’t. It’s kind of tooken care of. Don’t worry about it, you know it’s OK.” He said you know kind of fast, you know, I didn’t catch it at first. I thought about what he said and then that’s when I realized that’s what he said, you know. He said it’s tooken care of.
Sudbury: Did you know about the death of the three young boys when you asked him this? Or did you know, or were you aware of that yet?
L.G.: I was --
Sudbury: That it happened.
L.G.: On the 6th I think I was, I think that I knew that they was missing, I believe I knew that.
Sudbury: You knew they were missing, but you didn’t know they were dead?
L.G.: No, I don’t know –
Sudbury: You didn’t know they were dead when you asked him this question?
L.G.: No.
Sudbury: OK.
L.G.: I don’t watch a lot of the news. My aunt told me either on the 6th or the 5th there was kids missing. You know I didn’t even know where they was missing from.
Sudbury: Did you ever know what he and Domini were into an argument or confrontation about?
L.G.: No, I never knew. I asked Domini and she said some stupid shit Damien was doing or something like that.
Sudbury: She said that’s why she was upset with him? --
L.G.: Yeah.
Sudbury: -- because of stupid things that he was doing?
L.G.: Yeah. You know, hey look, he’s messing up is basically what she said.
Sudbury: Is there anything else that you needed to add to this taped conversation that we’re having?
L.G.: That’s basically it.
Sudbury: OK.
Durham: On May the 5th, did you see Damien Echols at any time during that day?
L.G.: No, sir, I did not.
Durham: Did you see Jason Baldwin or Jessie Misskelley on that particular day?
L.G.: No, sir. I didn’t see none of them. Now my aunt said that---see it was on the 5th or 6th, I don’t remember exactly which one what it was. She dropped me off at my house and she was going back, let’s see, back to her house, alright. And she came back and picked up my other aunt about 10 or something, around there. And she said that she seen Damien and Domini, it could have been somebody else with him, you know. In black leather jackets walking down the little road there.
Sudbury: What is your aunt’s name?
L.G.: Narlene Hollingsworth.
Sudbury: OK. Do you know what aunt it was that she picked up?
L.G.: Um, Dixie Hollingsworth. Well her name’s not Hollingsworth no more.
Sudbury: Do you know what time of the afternoon it was that she saw Damien and whoever on, was it the service road?
L.G.: I –
Sudbury: Or did you say where she saw them?
L.G.: She didn’t say exactly. I think it was somewhere over closer by where I live at. That’s –
Durham: Are we talking about 10:00 at night?
L.G.: Yes. Somewhere around there.
Sudbury: L.G., you are aware that this conversation is being tape-recorded. Is that correct?
L.G.: Yes I’m – I know that.
Sudbury: OK. Have we made any promises or threats to you? Have we promised you anything if you would give us this taped interview?
L.G.: Not at all.
Sudbury: Have we threatened you in any way? That if you didn’t we was going to do something to you?
L.G.: No.
Sudbury: So this is a voluntary statement of your own free will.
L.G.: Yes, sir.
Sudbury: OK. It is now eleven minutes after noon. We’re at the Crittenden County sheriff’s office, and this will be the end of this conversation.149
9.TRIAL OF BALDWIN AND ECHOLS

The Echols/Baldwin Trial
I hate to dignify it by calling it "occult testimony," but that the testimony relative to Wicca religion can only be considered for Mr. Echols. If I'm right. What is Wicca, does anybody. . .?150
Because Misskelley’s attorney’s refused to accept the evidence of his confession in his trial, his testimony could not be used in the Baldwin/Echols trial. At law, it could not be mentioned at all.151
Almost no direct evidence existed against Jason Baldwin. In his closing argument, Baldwin’s attorney stated:
Ford: The only evidence they've got is Michael Carson. Boil it down, that’s what they got. This sixteen-year-old career criminal with a soft heart. That’s what they got. Where was their evidence before February the first? Jason was arrested June the third. Where was their evidence?152
Prosecutor Brent Davis referred only to the fiber evidence and Michael Carson in his closing argument:
Davis: In regard to Jason, the red fiber, and what Michael Carson said. Cause this is the time when you gotta make hard decisions. Michael Carson, he's either - he's lying to you or he's telling you the truth. And it's not somewhere in between. And I put to you he's telling you the truth. Kids like him don't come in here do that for nothing.153
Various statements by Echols related to the occult in general were used to impeach his character and offer evidence of the cult influence upon the killing. The first officer to testify became convinced that occultism influenced the murders:
One of those factors is that it was an overkill. Way more injuries than necessary to kill the children. There was torture involved. The removal of the penis. The penis is a symbol of power according to Damien's own statement. Placement in the water, water is, has Satanic symbolism according to Damien's own statement. The eight year old [portion missing] are that items are to be returned three-fold. Three is a Satanic importance in symbolism. Crossroads area meaning neither in the middle of community but nor in the extremes of nature, it's sort of a, um, neither in the city nor out of the city, neither public nor completely private. Cult meetings, most cult meetings or rituals are held in deserted isolated areas, wooded areas away from people. Uh, in blood rituals many times parts of the victims are removed, possibly eaten, or kept for use in other ways. The notation being that the penis was not found. The bodies were in the nude, the Satanic term for that would be "skyclad." Stab wounds, patterns, may have been done for the purpose of bloodletting. Incision to the sex organs or mutilations, cuts or bruises. Being a clean site, Satanic or occult symbolism would be mean that a clean site would have been noted. Injury patterns, most sites would be on private property, not on public property, not normally travelled. Mutilation, sex organs would be mutilated or removed. The victims will be males, penis or testicles will be removed. The eyes will be gouged.154
During questioning by Fogleman, Detective Ridge answered that there were four sets of notes concerning his discussion with Echols---a handwritten note, a handwritten Summary Report, a typed Summary Report, and the notes of Detective Sudbury.
Fogleman: Did he tell you who his favorite author was?
Ridge: Yes, sir, he did. Anton LaVey, Satanist book and likes Stephen King novels because they are scary.155
Burnett: I'm not sure what an occult is.
It sounds like something bad, but I'm not sure what it is...
Burnett: I understand that there is some subtle difference between the Wiccans and the occult. But, now what it is, I couldn't tell you. But what I've read in the newspaper that they - one disavows the other, whatever that means.156
Echols went on to clarify---and not clarify this difference:
Davis: And that -- did you also tell him that each person had a demonic side to them?
