  Leah’s Home Lens

  Part I

The insistent buzzing of the phone interrupted my musing as I drove along the freeway. My mind had been elsewhere, the car in cruise control and the road dead straight, and wonder of wonders, nothing to speak of in the way of traffic either. Travelling to a business meeting an hour away from home on such a beautiful Saturday morning was not exactly at the top of my list for pastimes today, especially after the blazing row I’d had about it with Leah before I left.

  The phone buzzed again.

  “Answer.”

  The buzzer cut out.

  “Leo James. Good morning.”

“Leo, glad I caught you, it’s Ted.”

My heart sank. Without him saying another word, I knew exactly what was about to happen. Ted Baines was the man I was about to visit, and there could only be one reason why he was ringing.

“You haven’t set off yet, have you?”

“Nearly with you, Ted. Just about to turn off the freeway.”

“Damn . . . Look, Leo, I’m sorry, but something serious has come up. I’m going to have to take a rain check and reschedule.”

  “Ted . . .”

“I’m sorry, fella. There’s nothing I can do. My eldest, she’s fourteen, has fallen off her horse this morning and badly broken her leg. I’m at the hospital now. They think they’ll have to operate. Look, I’m going to have to go, the doctor’s coming. I’ll call you Monday and fix a new appointment. Sorry.”

Before I could utter another word, he was gone, just a disconnected line tone echoing through the speaker for a few seconds before it too cut off.

  “Shit!”

I clenched my fist, and brought it down in frustration on the top of the steering wheel, just hard enough to feel the shock reverberate up my arm.

Three quarters of an hour to get this far, and at least that going back. What a way to waste a Saturday morning.

Still, there was nothing I could do, other than turn round and head home. For a brief moment I thought about calling ahead and telling Leah it had all been a waste of time, and then decided it was a better idea to just surprise her. Swinging off the freeway at the next off-ramp, I took the cross-town to the nearest on-ramp heading back South and pushed the speed as fast I as I thought I could get away with.

  ****

Thirty five minutes later—I’d really pushed the speed bubble—I pulled off the freeway onto the downtown loop, counting the minutes until I could walk in through the front door and say sorry to my gorgeous, sexy wife.

Pulling into the top of our quiet road, I spotted something slightly odd, stopped at the curb and watched as a hundred yards in front of me, I saw Owen, our neighbour, walking up our drive carrying a large aluminium case. Not only that, but Leah was standing there, holding the door open for him, and smiling. I could see their mouths moving as they chatted. Obviously the case Owen was lugging was rather heavy.

Odder and odder. I knew Leah couldn’t stand Owen. She often found it difficult to be civil to the man, but there she was smiling and chatting with him as she invited him into our house. Definitely something strange going on. Leah seemed to be very well dressed as well, not exactly dressed to kill, but certainly not in her Saturday casuals. Definitely odd.

I suppose I’d watched too many crime movies, seen too many trashy TV dramas, but some sixth sense told me not to carry on and pull the car into the drive. The door was closed, there was nothing else to be seen from where I was, so I quickly fishtailed into a U-turn, turned left and then left again into the road behind us. The houses were separated by a band of trees from the next street, and the lot behind ours was vacant. Perfect for a little surreptitious spying.

Parking in front of the empty lot, I purposely crossed the open ground and slipped into the narrow band of trees until, peering around the thick trunk of one, I could see the back of the house. There was no movement to be seen, obviously whatever Owen and Leah were up to, was happening in the front of the house, not in the back, or the yard.

  He’s a photographer!

Suddenly I remembered Owen was a very keen amateur photographer. On the couple of occasions we’d been in the house, I’d seen several examples of his work hanging on the walls. Very good work too.

  Come on, get a grip.

I sprinted across the lawn to the back of the house and stopped at the edge of the deck. Leaving my shoes on the bottom step, I padded silently across the wooden boards to the patio door of the dining room, which was as usual ajar. The cool breeze blowing from the yard into the house was often a godsend on a morning like this, despite the air-conditioning.

Maybe, she’s having some portraits done. Well done Mickey Spillane!

Moving slowly, I edged the door open wider until I could slip inside. As soon as I was I froze; I could hear the murmur of voices from the lounge. Luckily our house faced the morning sun, the lounge would be brightly lit by the sun streaming in through the large windows, and the dining room was in comparative shadow, hopefully rendering me invisible. I edged closer to the archway through to the rest of the house and slowly peered around the corner, praying I was still hidden by the relative shade.

“Well, Leah, what do you think of those shots?”

I could see Leah was sitting on the couch, slowly leafing through the photo album on her knees, primly pressed together beneath her knee length navy skirt.

“They are very good, Owen. You’ve captured her perfectly.”

“Those are just the starting poses. Wait ‘til you see the next few pages.”

Owen was fussing around in the open space in front of the couch, setting up odd pieces of equipment. Some looked like music stands, topped with translucent looking umbrellas with boxes in front of them. It took me a while to recognise the studio lighting equipment he was setting up. In the meantime Leah turned over another couple of pages and then gasped.

  “What’s the matter?”

  “She’s . . . she’s nude!”

“Yes, but the pictures are beautiful, don’t you think. Wouldn’t you like to pose like that?”

“Don’t be silly, Mia’s your wife. That’s between the two of you. I’m not posing like that for you!”

  Owen chuckled.

“There’s nothing wrong with a good artistic nude.”

“I’m a married woman, and more importantly I’m not married to you. She is.”

“You are a very beautiful woman, Leah, and the camera is going to just love you. Surely, you must have wondered what it would be like to pose like that?”

Leah shook her head, but I could see her eyes were returning to the page open on her lap.

  “No, never.”
>
He shrugged and switched the lights on, one by one. The room was even brighter now, helping to conceal me in the gloom of the dining room even more.

“Well, I said I would take some photos of you this morning while your husband was out on business, and I will. How far you want to go in front of the camera is entirely up to you. Shall we get started?”

  “I’m not doing that.”

Leah held the book up to show Owen the page she had been looking at, unknowingly showing me too. I knew Mia, Owen’s wife, was a stone fox, but the nude picture of her turned partially away from the camera, showing her full breast in three-quarter profile and her shaven mound, took my breath away. Somehow I kept quiet, realising Leah’s denials hadn’t really sounded that sincere. As she looked away once more, almost reluctantly closing the album, I caught a quick crafty grin fleet across Owen’s face—obviously he’d picked up the subtle nuance too.

This just might get interesting. I could feel myself begin to respond to the situation, my trousers becoming a tad uncomfortable.

“Stand up please, Leah. Let’s start with a standing shot.”

Leah looked steadily at him for a few seconds, clearly considering her actions and what she was committing herself to. Then, decision made, she rose to her feet and stood there, hands on hips in front of the couch facing Owen and his battery of lights.

“Rule number one, Leah, you have to smile. Unless the photographer asks for a different expression, he expects his model to smile, or at least pout.”

As he was talking, I was taking in the outfit Leah was wearing. The straight navy skirt was knee length and not overtly sexy, classy but not flashy. Above she was wearing a white blouse with the other half of the two piece business suit over the top, all three buttons done up, typical Leah. The patent black heels were an inch or so higher than she normally wore, her legs encased in black nylon to match. I knew Leah hated tights so the nylon could only be stockings, she said going in to work wearing stockings instead of tights made her feel sexy as well as more comfortable. The total affect was an understated sensual appeal, something she carried off well.

Something sparkled at her earlobe and I realised she was wearing her best diamond earrings too, something unheard of for the daytime, let alone a Saturday morning.

“Come on, Leah, please smile for me. That’s better.”

Leah had managed a tiny upturn of the corners of her mouth, not much of a smile but definitely better than the frown she’d been wearing when she stood up.

“Good girl, now put your head on one side a little, turn your body the other way as you do so, and smile a bit wider. Very good.”

I could see Owen was now holding a very professional looking large digital camera in his hand, clicking the shutter in rapid fire as he continued to coax Leah into more and more relaxed poses. A couple of minutes later he lowered the camera and smiled at her.

“That wasn’t so bad, was it?”

Leah gave him one of her shy smiles and nodded.

“Oh, hold that. That smile is wonderful, it lights up your entire face.”

The camera rose to his face once more and the click, click, click of the shutter sounded in the room, the only sound as Leah froze into immobility with that sexy shy smile still in place. After a few seconds more he lowered the camera again.

“Leah, that looked really good, but you appear a little formal as you are. Would you undo the jacket buttons for me, let the jacket hang open.”

  “Owen . . .”

“I only asked you to look a little more informal, more relaxed. I haven’t asked you to bare your chest for me, have I?”

Again Leah gave him that long steady, calculating look, obviously wondering if there was a way to gracefully say no to what appeared, on the face of it, apart from the earlier conversation about Mia’s photos, to be a perfectly reasonable request. Slowly her hands rose to allow her fingers to toy with the top button of the severely cut navy jacket.

From my vantage point I could see every nuance of the byplay between the two of them. Owen’s face was obviously in deep shadow behind the lights from Leah’s point of view but he was clearly visible to me. As a result I could see the almost predatory grin flash across his face as he raised the camera to his eyes once more.

I wondered just how far this was going to go, and also, just how far I was going to let it go. Below my waist, someone else obviously had his own ideas too. He was quite hard now, anticipating what was possibly going to happen.

The button came undone, and Leah’s nervous fingers dropped to the middle one, Owen continuing to take pictures as each button came undone, exposing more of her blouse to the lens. Finally the third one came open and the jacket swung gently out to the sides, showing nothing more than the pressed white cotton underneath.

“Drop one hand to your side, and lift the other one to just under your chin. Good. You’re an absolute natural at this, perfect, now let me have that sexy smile again. Perfect. Now maybe pout a little. Drop your head and look at the floor then look at me through your eyelashes, pout a bit more. Perfect. You are really a great model. The camera loves you, really it does. You’re excellent.”

The mixture of compliments and commands was almost hypnotic and I could sense Leah was just following what he said, each command obeyed without really thinking about it. I have to say she never looked more beautiful to me than she did at that moment.

“Now, Leah, I’d like to take some sitting poses, but I’d like you to do something for me first.”

  “Oh?”

“Lose the jacket and sit on the couch just like you were earlier.”

Again that penetrating look for a couple of seconds and then she slowly shrugged her shoulders out of the jacket and let it fall down her arms behind her before she folded it neatly in half and laid it over the arm of the couch. A moment later she was perched primly in the middle of the couch, sitting upright, her legs pressed together, skirt smoothed down just over her knees.

Prim and proper, that’s my Leah! Until she’s in the mood!

I almost chuckled out loud but managed to stop myself giving the game away.

“Now, Leah, you need to relax, lean back, allow yourself to sink into the comfort of the cushions. Drop one arm to your side. Lift the other to your hair. That’s better. Now smile again, and cross your legs, left over right. Good.”

It had taken only seconds for Owen’s banter to reassert his control over my wife. Once more she was doing as he told her, moving from one pose to another, relaxing further and further, unconsciously showing off her own beauty for the camera, not even noticing the increased leg exposure, crossing her legs had provided for the camera lens.

“Now lift your other hand to your hair, run your fingers through it, help yourself to relax, close your eyes and imagine how wonderful it feels to be able to soothe your scalp with your fingers that way. Your hair is fantastic, Leah, absolutely fantastic. Now uncross your legs and cross them the other way, slide your right foot up off the floor a little. Good. You really are a natural. Keep your eyes closed, smile a bit more, let’s see some of those pearly white teeth, and raise your leg a little higher, a little more. Excellent.”

The act of raising her foot higher had the effect of sliding the skirt up her legs, so that now it was a few inches above her knee, very daring for Leah. Still, she continued to follow his commands without thinking about them, her closed eyes rendering her oblivious to the expanse of leg she was now beginning to put on display for the camera. Owen dropped to his knees, obviously aiming for a different angle. I was sure from his position nearer the floor and directly in front of her he could see even more than I could from my hidden vantage point.

  ****

The sudden change in direction of his voice clearly alerted Leah that something was different. Her eyes snapped open and she looked down to see Owen kneeling in front of her with the camera pointing low, a moment later her gaze followed the line of the camera and she immediately sat back upright and uncrossed her l
egs, smoothing the skirt back into place. Owen climbed to his feet and smiled at her.

“Why don’t we try some standing shots again?”

As she rose to her feet Leah frowned at him.

“You’ll make your mind up, soon.”

“It’s all about finding the right position to show off your gorgeous legs, face and body. The camera loves you, Leah, now we have to find out if you love the camera.”

  “Umm . . .”

“Now, I want you to do me another favour . . . You still look a little too formal, do you think you can undo the top two buttons on your blouse? Just to make the images look more relaxed.”

This time Leah didn’t hesitate more than a second. Her hands moved to her neck and one after the other the top two buttons popped undone as her fingers deftly twisted the material around them.

“That’s great, much better. You look fabulous. Another button? Great. Go on, just one more. Perfect.”

I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Leah had casually unbuttoned the top four buttons of her blouse without so much as a squeak of protest. The blouse was now open to just above the line of her slip, indeed as she moved to follow directions from Owen who was continuing to pose her, you could see the black lace of the top of her slip peer momentarily through the gap.

“Bend forward slightly, from the waist, but keep your chin up looking straight at the camera. Good. Now smile a nice sexy smile for me. Slip the tip of your tongue out as if it’s flicking your top lip. Keep it there, that’s really sexy, Leah, you look great. Now bend a little more, a bit further. Excellent.”

The blouse fell forward, away from her breasts, obviously giving Owen a perfect view straight down her cleavage. Again, I thought about rushing out and beating the crap out of him as I saw him lick his lips at the view he was getting. Curiosity as to exactly how far Leah would go, and my own bulging erection at the thought, kept me immobile.

“Stand up straight again, Leah. Now how about another couple of buttons? Let’s see that black lace showing through, add a little colour to the picture.”
