“I’m glad. That’s exactly how I wanted you to feel,” Natasha said with a wide grin.

Darian chuckled as he lay back against the covers. Xavier rested his head in Natasha's lap, looking at him lovingly.

“I know one thing; I have to make sure you two don’t kill me.” Natasha laughed at her own joke.

“If the pleasure is too much for you to bear, simply hit Xavier and I’ll stop,” Darian jested.

“Very funny, you old bastard,” Xavier retorted. Darian laughed outright.

“I can’t wait to see the both of you as Dads,” she said dreamily. “I mean, diaper changing, baby burping, and at least you guys will have middle-of-the-night feedings taken care of.”

“Hmmm...” Darian began, then he frowned. “Changing diapers will be an experience. Not one I’m really anticipating.”

Natasha shook her head in disbelief. Although she knew Darian was in a playful mood, she doubted that he was joking.

“Have you ever changed diapers?” Xavier asked.

“No,” Darian said. “I was the youngest of my siblings, so the opportunity never presented itselfthankfully so.”

“I hope you don’t take up that attitude when the children come,” Xavier teased.

Darian groaned. “I’ll share the parental duties, no matter how disgusting.”

Natasha laughed. “Well, I for one can’t wait to see it!”

Darian chuckled, his dimpled smile brightening his already extraordinarily handsome features.

“Man, I’m so drained! I just want to go to sleep.” Natasha gazed dreamily at the two men. She gingerly lifted her head and looked at Darian.

Their eyes met and he nodded. “It’s a very good time to rest.” Darian looked at his young vampire lover.

Xavier was already resting. His eyes were closed and his long, dark lashes trimmed his lids and brushed his cheeks. His silky, long, dark hair framed his face as he lay motionless. They watched him for a few moments, drinking in his peaceful beauty. A few moments later, Darian wrapped his arm around Natasha’s waist, bringing her closer. His hand brushed away the curly strands of dark brown hair from her face and they stared at each other in silence, fully understanding what they meant to each other.

“My beautiful, Natasha…” He smiled then he looked at Xavier, “…and my beautiful inamorato.” His gaze settled back on her. “Sleep well.”

Natasha smiled as she closed her eyes, Darian did the same. As the sun rose, they drifted off to sleep. She dreamt about their future together and in her dream, she heard the pitter-patter of little feet.
