“I’m not sure, I could write, but I don’t know if I’m in the mood.”
Phil came to her and put his arm around her waist, sliding it up to stroke her breast. Even through the thick sweater she had on her nipple hardened, his fingers found it and teased her by rubbing it between his thumb and finger.
“What are you in the mood for?” he asked playfully.
She tilted her head up to look at him, still in awe of how handsome he was, especially with the stubble on his chin where he hadn't shaved yet. It made him look rugged, a man that belonged here on the mountain, the kind of man she usually wrote about in her books.
“Is that all you want me for?” She tried to match his playful tone.
He kissed her lightly on the lips and then moved away, leaving Christina wondering if she had upset him with her words. This whole relationship thing was confusing.
“No, but it’s hard to resist when you look so adorable.”
“Adorable.” She picked up the dish towel and threw it at him, hitting him squarely on the side of the head.
“Hey, what was that for?”
“Calling me adorable, it makes me feel like I’m five again.”
“I’m sorry, but it’s the truth, and before I think about you too much I’m going out into the snow, I need cooling off.”
He left the kitchen, going to the door where his boots were. She could hear him whistling to himself as he put them on, and then wound a scarf around his neck. Slowly the toned body of Phil disappeared under several layers of clothes.
“I’ll get to work; a coffee would be great in about half an hour.”
“I’ll see what I can do,” she said giggling as he put a woolly hat on.
Jumping up she went over to him and kissed the only bit of his face that wasn’t covered. Patting his head she said, “Now who looks adorable.”
With a grin, he went outside into the snow and she heard the steady sound of the shovel scraping the ground as he moved the two foot of snow that had built up since she had arrived. They were likely to be here for some time, her body warmed to that thought, and she went to clear the kitchen, putting off working on her laptop, too afraid that she would not be able to write with the excitement that fluttered in her stomach.
Chapter Four
Christina washed the dishes they had used for breakfast and then cleaned all the surfaces. She knew she was stalling, but could not bring herself to go any quicker. Instead she found herself day dreaming as she worked, thinking how wonderful it would be to have a boyfriend when they went home.
For so many years she had never had anyone to do things with, such as go to the theatre or even to the cinema. It was not fun doing things on your own. Now she would have Phil to do them with. She hoped. After all she had no real idea of what he liked or enjoyed, what if their attraction went no further than lust, would their new relationship last while they tried to find common ground.
She began to worry again, but then she caught sight of him working outside, he had already taken off a couple of layers of his clothes, the hard work making him hot. For a man used to spending so much time in the office he certainly was fit.
She could have stood and watched him all morning, but instead decided to join him outside, the sun had come out and it looked rather magical as it glistened on the fresh snow. So she put some coffee on and rounded up the warmest clothes she could find, and two mugs in gloved hands were carried outside.
The cold hit her as soon as she opened the door, the sharp air stinging her eyes. It took a couple of minutes to get used to breathing in the cold after the warmth of the cabin, but then it started to make her feel fresh and alive.
She carefully followed the path he had already cleared, the last thing she wanted to do was fall over. She figured Phil would find that funny even in their new found relationship, and she hated the idea of him ever laughing at her again.
“Good timing,” Phil said turning to see her scuffing along the path.
She made it to him and handed him his mug. “I thought I could help.”
“Sure, if you scrape the snow away it'll make it a lot quicker.”
Between them, they moved a lot faster along the path. Phil digging and loosening the snow and Christina scraping it to the side. They worked as a team, the first time they had ever really done anything that involved them cooperating with each other. It did not descend into any kind of sniping at each other, it was as if they were two different people.
They soon reached the cars, and began to scrape the snow off them. Phil went around and lifted the piles of snow away from the cars while Christina went back to the cabin for the keys. Once satisfied that both vehicles started and ran smoothly they were finished.
“Done,” said Phil, he looked up at the sky. “Doesn’t look as though we're going to get any more today, we might be able to try getting down tomorrow if we take the shovel. As long as there are no drifts we might make it.”
“I don’t mind waiting an extra day or two, just to be safe.”
“You mean you want to keep me all to yourself for a few more days?” he said sliding his arm around her and pulling her close.
She knew he was joking; he had a twinkle in his eyes that she had never seen much before. She smiled sweetly in agreement with him, and he lowered his lips to kiss her, she was torn between kissing him, and planting a snowball in his face. The snowball won.
“What the…” he gasped, releasing her and wiping the snow off his face.
“Payback,” Christina giggled.
“For what?” he asked.
“Everything.”
“Oh, well maybe I have some payback too.”
He scooped the snow up into a ball and Christina was off, running to hide behind his car. The snowball narrowly missed her as she ducked down and scooped up some snow of her own. For the next half hour, they ran around like a couple of kids, with badly aimed snowballs flying through the air. By the time they had had enough they were both laughing like children and breathless. They were also both wet.
“Come on, We'd better get ourselves dry and warm.”
Phil gathered the tools they had been using and carried them back to the cabin. Christina followed behind trying to get as much snow off her clothes as she could, Phil had definitely been a much better shot.
Christina also acknowledged to herself that she could not remember ever having so much fun. Perhaps Phil was bringing out a completely new side of herself that had been kept hidden for too long.
The effect that would have on her ability to write was the only thing that bothered her. Writing had always drawn on her inner anxiety, if that disappeared her writing career could well go with it.
“Right, you go and get dried off and I’ll make us some hot chocolate,” Phil said, kicking the snow off his boots before he went inside.
“OK,” she said, going past him and taking her coat off.
Then she headed straight for the bedroom and began stripping her clothes off. She was thankful the wood burner warmed the whole cabin, or else she would be frozen. Standing in her bra and panties, she was unaware of Phil coming into the room while she was sorting out some dry clothes.
He came up behind her and circled her body, placing one hand over her breasts and the other between her thighs. She gasped at the shock, and then relaxed back into his body, loving the way he was stroking her heated flesh.
Soon every chill had left her, replaced instead by a heat that only increased the more he touched her. Leaning back on his shoulder, she turned her head and their lips met. He kissed her deeply while his fingers stroked her clit through the fabric of her panties.
She wobbled slightly when she tried to part her thighs even more for him. Nevertheless, it was worth it, his fingers pushed just inside her, before trailing back towards her clit. She groaned against his lips, which increased his arousal, his kisses becoming fiercer.
His hand temporarily left her mound so he could undo her bra. Then his assault of her senses began in e
arnest as he stroked her nipples, now wonderfully bare. His hand returned to her sensitive nub and she squirmed deliciously under his experienced touch.
Christina could feel his hardness pressed against her back, she slowly rotated her bottom to return some of the pleasure he was giving her. He approved, pulling her back closer to him. His hips moved too, circling slightly in a steady rhythm.
“It’s no good, I want to be inside you,” he said.
He moved towards the bed, tilting her body so she was bent over with her bottom in the air. Christina trembled in excitement, he was going to take her from behind, and her whole body throbbed in anticipation of making love in this new position. Would it hurt, would it be as good as the other times?
Phil left her for a moment and she heard the tearing of the little packet containing a condom. She glanced under her arms to watch him rolling it down over his long stiff cock. He looked so big, his cock engorged, and she was still amazed his attraction to her was so strong.
He moved back towards the bed, one hand going to her hip while the other held his cock. Slowly he rubbed it up and down her slit, spreading her juices and lubricating himself.
Christina spread her legs a little wider for him, and he slid lower, his cock brushing her clit. He rubbed her there, until she was whimpering with need, but unable to ask him for the one thing she wanted him to do, take her, right now. She was too shy to voice her needs to him, but her sex ached to be filled.
He moved to tease her again, pressing into her sex a little, before moving away, only to return to stroke her entrance. This time she pushed herself back onto him, and the head of his cock breached her. It was good, so good to feel him inside her, but he pulled back out and slid against her clit again.
She was so wet her juices were dripping from her, his cock now sliding along her slit easily. When he pressed against her again, she thrust back harder, and this time he accommodated her need, pushing right into her in one steady stroke.
It was incredible, her sex being filled so quickly it had no time to stretch for him and so the friction was intense. Her tightness gripping him and she had to grip the sheets in her fists to gain control and stop herself crying out. She did not want him to think he had hurt her, although the pleasure held a certain amount of discomfort.
He pulled back out of her, and the teasing began all over again. Yet now it was worse, her sex had been given a glimpse of what it needed, and throbbed and ached in protest.
Christina felt tears of frustration prick her eyes; she needed him inside her, to feel his steady thrusts.
“Please, Phil,” she begged at last.
“Please what?” he asked, his voice as strained as her nerves.
“You know what I need,”
“Yes, but I really want you to say it, so I know for sure.”
“I want you,” she said as the teasing continued.
“Do you want me to fuck you?”
To Christina the word sounded deliciously crude, a word she never used. “Yes.”
“Say it.”
“I want you to fuck me.”
His cock moved to her entrance, and once again, he slid straight into her, only this time harder. A sound rose from deep inside her and this time she let it out, crying out, a long wail while his cock penetrated her completely. He stayed inside her, sliding back before thrusting into her. Each stroke lifting her higher, her orgasm nearing its peak.
Phil placed his hand between her legs and stroked her clit, pinching it lightly between his thumb and fingers. All the while, his cock kept a steady rhythm of thrusts, long and deep, over and over.
Christina let herself go, her sex pulsing around him, strong contractions gripping and then releasing him. Phil’s thrusts became more urgent; his cock jerking into her hard and fast. She knew he was about to come, his hand gripped her hip and he thrusts were hard and deep inside her, this time it was his cries that filled the small cabin.
When they were both finished he slowly withdrew from her, and her sex felt empty without him. Christina wondered how she could ever have gone through life without being with a man, and wondered what she would do if ever Phil finished with her.
The thought was unbearable, from both a sex and love point of view. He had somehow completed her life in the past two days in a way she had not realised she needed. Up until then she had felt whole, but in reality, there had been a huge void in her life. Her writing had filled that void to a certain extent. Now would there be room for both?
They lay together, and Christina worried that he maybe having similar doubts. It was one thing to be like this together when they were cocooned away in the cabin, but what would happen when they left was something beyond their control.
“Phil, what's going to happen when we leave here?” She had to know if he meant to carry on seeing her, or whether this was a short romance. She prayed he would tell her the truth.
“What do you want to happen?”
“I asked first.”
“Well I thought it would be a good idea if I started to date you, we seemed to have skipped that part and gone straight to the bedroom.”
“You really want to see me when we leave?”
“Of course. Did you think I wouldn’t?”
“I wondered what you would tell my brother, I mean he had always been against us, and has gone a long way to keep us apart.”
“I plan to speak to him about that, I still can’t believe he let it go on so long.”
“And if it causes trouble between you?”
He bent his head and kissed her. “Do you mean will I still be friends with him?”
“I guess.”
“I hope so, family gatherings will be a bit awkward if we're not speaking, but I want to hear what he has to say.”
“Family gatherings?”
“Yes, it'll be a bit hard on everyone if I’m not speaking to your brother.”
She smiled to herself; he really did see them as a couple. Snuggling close to him, she enjoyed the closeness of another human being.
It was so warm in bed neither of them wanted to move, and the day drifted by with them talking about their lives and the things they enjoyed most.
“So you do like the theatre?” Christina had learned a lot about Phil over the last hour, and more importantly they had both learned they had a lot in common.
“Yes, although I don’t go as often as I would like.”
“Will you take me?”
“Sure, when we get home that can be our first date, and dinner, your choice.”
“Italian?”
“If you insist.”
“You don’t like Italian?”
“Pizza, I suppose.”
She slapped him playfully. “You are not taking me for pizza on our first date.”
“What if it was authentic Italian pizza, in Italy?”
“You're joking.”
“No, after freezing in the snow I think somewhere warm would be a great idea.”
“Just like that? Drop everything and go to Italy?”
“Why not? You're a writer, you can do that anywhere. Right?”
“In theory.”
“What does that mean? Hey, what's wrong?”
“I don’t know if I can write any more.”
“Why not, what's happened?”
“I don’t know, but since I got back here, and we…you know. I seem to have writers block.”
“It'll pass, how do you usually deal with it?”
“That’s just it; I’ve never had to deal with it before. I think I’ve always drawn on my insecurities to write, and now I feel different.”
“Then write something different.”
“I don’t know how.”
“Yes, you do. You're a clever girl; I know you can do it.”
“And what if I can’t?”
“Then you'll have to learn to be happy being a housewife to five kids.”
“Don’t tease me.”
“I mean it, Christina. There's more to life t
han writing, if you have to you'll find something else. But I think you need to go easy on yourself, I thought you'd only just finished a book, you probably just need a break from it all.”
“You don’t understand, I always go from one book to another, I had it all in my head and everything, but the words won’t come out.”
“Give it time, Christina.” And then he made love to her again.
Chapter Five
Christina smiled at her publisher, her stomach churning from nerves, yet at the same time she felt incredibly excited.
“There are a lot of people out there waiting for a signed copy of your new book, Christina,” her publisher said.
“I’ve never been so nervous; the book is so different from anything I’ve ever done before,” Christina answered.
She was glad her publisher was here, they had been together for the whole of Christina's career. It comforted her to know that someone who knew her books so well supported the change of direction her writing had gone. Since being with Phil she had changed her style, “grown up”, the reviewers had said.
“Well the reviews so far have been very good; you have nothing to worry about. In fact I think people were ready to take the new direction with you.”
“I’m glad to hear it, because I don’t think I could go back, not now,” Christina said honestly.
“Hopefully you'll find the time to do another one before the baby's due.”
Christina smoothed her hand over her stomach; her baby bump was just starting to show. She smiled to herself, how different her life was now, and it would change even more when the baby arrived.
“I don’t know about that, there's so much to plan and do, I think I might take a break from writing.” Although her voice lacked any real conviction.
She already had a new story bubbling to the surface, and once they took hold, it was hard to stop them wanting to be told. However she had made a decision not to be a slave to her career for the next few years, she wanted to enjoy the new side of life she had discovered while snowed in at the cabin with Phil.
