He kissed her again, deep and rough, and she tangled her fingers in his thick hair. She’d always loved his hair. She brushed her hands over his back and his tight ass, arching her hips up to push against the bulge in his jeans. Her entire body was on fire for this sexy man.

When he released the kiss this time, he sat back on his heels and peeled off his shirt. Vivian sighed at the sight of his muscled torso and arms. “I always knew you’d be gorgeous.”

He stood and pulled down his jeans and underwear, and she moaned softly as a thick, red cock popped out. It was already slick with pre-cum. Vivian reached down and stroked her clit at the sight of it. She was so ready to come it was ridiculous.

“Oh baby…don’t stop that.” He nearly fell over trying to get the rest of his clothes off, and she tried not to laugh at the look on his face. It was so endearing and sexy at the same time. “I mean it. Don’t stop.”

“Yes, sir.” Vivian smiled as she played with her clit, wiggling her hips and moaning softly as her climax drew closer.

  “You are so damn sexy.”

  “So are you.”

He dropped to his knees, moved her hands aside, and leaned over to lick her clit. That was all it took. Vivian cried out as a crazy orgasm overtook her, sending contractions out to her fingertips and toes. She’d never come so hard in her life.

Before it finished, he was between her legs, teasing her wetness with the head of his dick. “Vivian…I can’t hold off any longer. I’m about to pop here. Are you on the pill? God, I hope so. I don’t have any condoms with me.”

“I am. And I don’t have any diseases.”

“Me either.” He kissed her again, and she groaned in the back of her throat as he released her mouth and slipped two fingers into her pussy. “You’re so wet!”

  “That’s because of you.”

  “I want to fuck you.”

“Oh, God. I need you to fuck me, Luke. I need you to fuck me until we can’t walk.”

He groaned and then pulled his fingers out. As he guided his cock into her pussy, Vivian clung to his forearms, loving the way his muscles strained. It hurt at first, but she hadn’t had sex in a really long time and he was much bigger than Cletus. She forced her muscles to relax, and then once he was all the way in, the most delicious sensations overwhelmed her.

Vivian had been waiting for this all her adult life. Tears spilled over her lashes as he thrust inside her. Each movement pushed her closer to a second climax, and she gave over to it. He stroked her face and breasts as if she were a delicate flower. She’d never imagined such tenderness from any man, and her heart fluttered while her pulse raced.

  “Vivian…this is so incredible.”

She couldn’t even speak. All she could do was hang on while he fucked her like a runaway train. It was the most perfect, amazing lovemaking she’d ever imagined, and then some. When she came again, she cried out loudly and rode the waves as his own thrusting increased.

He came, too, and his cries joined hers until finally he shuddered a few times and then lay on top of her. He was covered in sweat, just like she was, and their breathing came in quick gasps. Vivian wrapped her arms and legs around him tighter, and sighed into his hair. No matter what happened tomorrow, she’d cherish the memories of this evening for the rest of her life.

Luke moved off her and sat up, grinning down into her face. “We’re covered with drywall dust.”

She stretched. “Are we? I hadn’t noticed.”

He pulled her to her feet. “Come with me. I’m not done with you yet.”

  “I sure hope not.”

Luke pulled her into his arms and kissed her again. When he released her mouth, he cupped her face and gazed at her with so much intensity, she thought she’d faint. “I’ll never be done with you. Never. I’ve waited too long for this. You’re stuck with me, Vivian. I want you to know that.”

“Luke…” She caressed his back. “I’ve waited a long time, too.”

“What’s going to happen tomorrow with your date?”

“I don’t know. Do you want me to cancel it?” Right now, she had trouble picturing herself sitting in a movie theater or a restaurant with Preston, behaving as though this hadn’t just happened.

“No. I want you to go. Because you need to know whether you want him, or me. I don’t want you to have any regrets, or to be down the road years from now, asking what might have been.”

Vivian swallowed hard. “Thank you,” she whispered. “For being such an amazing person.”

“I’m the same person you’ve always known.”

That much was true. Luke had always been there for her. Every single day. He kissed her again, and then he led her into the bathroom and reached inside her shower to turn on the water. When they stepped inside, he plucked her bottle of shower gel off the shelf and dumped some into his big hands. More landed on the shower floor than in his palms, but she didn’t even care right now.

“Turn around and face the wall,” he said, grinning.

Vivian giggled as she obeyed his request. “Have I done something wrong, officer?”

Luke moaned softly as he brushed the gel over her back and ass cheeks. “Oh, yes, ma’am. You certainly have. Unlawful seduction, for starters.”

“Unlawful seduction? Is that a real charge, or one you just made up?”

Luke slipped a finger along her ass crack, forcing more moans from her. “Oh, it’s real. Fucking on the living room floor is a misdemeanor in this town, ma’am.”

“What about fucking in a shower?”

He pushed his body up against her back, and she gasped as she realized his cock was rock hard again. “That’s a felony.” He moved his hands around to her breasts, kneading them as she writhed against him. “You’ll do jail time for that.”

“Not jail time. What can I do to get out of it?”

Luke chuckled softly and nibbled at her neck. “Do you really want to know?”

  “Yes.”

  “It’s raunchy, ma’am.”

“I like raunchy, officer.” She pushed back against him, rubbing her ass cheeks over his dick.

“That’s going to cost you. Now you’re in big trouble.” She gasped as Luke bent her over at the waist and gave ass cheeks a couple of hard smacks with his hand. “And that’s only a warm-up.”

  “Oh, God…”

She glanced over her shoulder to watch him take her wooden bath brush off the hook, and then she tried to dance away from him, but he was faster. She was laughing and telling him to stop at the same time, and it nearly took her breath away to realize how turned-on she was.

Cletus’s idea of kinky sex was to move aside her panties and fuck her while they were still on. Where had Luke hidden this side of himself? Or, had it always been there and she’d simply never known it?

He pushed her back against the wall. “Now you stay still, ma’am, or I’ll have to cuff you.”

“I wish I had some. That would be fun.”

He chuckled as he moved the bath brush over her ass cheeks. “We might could go into Nashville sometime and buy a few toys. What do you say?”

  “I would love that. Seriously.”

Luke kissed the back of her neck, sending shivers up and down her spine. “So would I. But for now, you have to be punished for your crimes.”

Luke gave her five hard swats on both cheeks with the brush, and she yelped, clinging to the wall with both palms. It stung, but at the same time, the endorphin rush was enough to make her dizzy. She’d never imagined being paddled with a bath brush could feel this decadent.

“Have I had enough punishment, officer?”

The brush clattered against the tub floor as Luke pulled her arms overhead and wedged his body against hers again. “Not even close, ma’am.” He rubbed his dick over her ass crack until she was sure she couldn’t take anymore. “That was so damn sexy, but I’m ready to burst again.”

“What can I do to help, officer?”

“Oh baby…you don’t want to know.”
/>
  “Yes, I do.”

Luke led her over to the shelf that spanned one wall of the shower. “Lean over. I’ll show you what you’re going to do to help.”

She did, and then he rubbed her breasts and clit with his hands, still slick with shower gel, while she moaned loudly and writhed against him. “Please…please. I can’t take anymore.”

Luke pulled her hair, forcing her head back. “What do you want, baby? Tell me what you want.”

“I want your dick inside me.”

He kissed her neck again. “Your wish is my command.” Luke bent her over further until her ass was up in the air, and Vivian rested her palms on the shelf. He slid his swollen cock into her pussy from behind, and she cried out loudly as wave after wave of pleasure engulfed her. He hung onto her hips and fucked her rough and deep, until she didn’t think she could stay standing any longer.

He reached around and stroked her clit. “Come on, sweetheart. I want to feel you come one more time.” That was all it took a second time. Vivian moaned as another orgasm crashed over her. By the time it stopped and he withdrew, he still hadn’t come yet.

He turned her around and told her to sit down. “Now I need you to do one more thing for me, ma’am.”

Vivian couldn’t take her gaze off his swollen cock. “Anything to keep me from going to jail, officer.”

  “Then open your mouth.”

She didn’t even hesitate. Luke’s cock tasted like pussy and cum, but Vivian didn’t mind. He pushed most of his impressive dick inside, and she had to relax her throat muscles not to gag, but that only added to the excitement. When he grasped her head with both hands, she nearly came again at the sheer possessiveness of the gesture.

He cried out, and her mouth filled with hot cum. Vivian tried to swallow all of it but some dribbled onto her chin. When he finally finished, he helped her stand, turned off the water, and then pulled her into his arms. “That was magnificent.”

  “I enjoyed it, too.”

They stepped out of the shower, and he dried her off. Then he held her hand as they walked into her bedroom and lay down on the bed, curled up in each other’s arms. “We should go back into the living room and clean up the mess,” he said.

  “We should.”

Luke laughed softly. “Yeah. I don’t want to either. I know we both have to work in the morning, but can I stay tonight?”

Vivian smiled, and then she rolled him onto his back and climbed on top of him. “Just try and go back home tonight, Luke Henderson. Just try it. I dare you.”

  Chapter Seven

On Friday, Preston had a rare free hour in the middle of the day, and stopped by to ask Vivian if she wanted to grab lunch. He frowned as he watched her on the cell phone with someone. When she called the person by name and he realized it was Luke, he almost left before she spotted him.

But then she glanced up and smiled. “I have to go. Okay. Talk to you later. Me, too. Bye.” She placed the phone on her desk. “Come on in. How is your day going?”

“Pretty well. I actually have some free time, and wondered if you wanted to grab lunch.”

She held up a half-eaten sandwich with an apologetic look. “I almost always eat at my desk. It’s been a zoo here lately with all the new hires. Don’t get me wrong. I’m grateful we’ve been able to find so many qualified candidates, but I’m swamped.”

Something was different. He couldn’t put his finger on it, but she was definitely more animated than usual, and her skin glowed. He glanced toward the cell phone. “All right. That’s cool. Are we still on for tonight?”

“Of course. I’m really looking forward to it. What time should I be ready?”

“I was hoping we could leave right after you finish work.”

“I need to change clothes first.”

  He smiled. “You look great.”

She laughed, and a shiver ran down his spine, but he had no idea why. “Preston, I am not wearing a suit and heels to see a movie and have dinner.”

“All right. How about five-thirty? Does that give you enough time?”

“Plenty. Do I get to ask where we’re going, or would you rather surprise me?”

He’d love to surprise her, but had a sneaking suspicion someone else had already done that, and recently. “I thought we could try Thai Phooket in Nashville. Ever been there?”

  “Can’t say that I have.”

  “Do you like Thai food?”

“I’ve never eaten it, unless you count Thai Spice in Murfreesboro.”

“That’s like saying you’ve had grade-A choice sirloin because you ate a Big Mac once.”

“Well then, I’ve never eaten it. But I’m game for something new.”

  “You’re very chipper today.”

  “Am I not every day?”

  “Not like this.”

She gave him a sly smile. “I’ve had a good week.” Her desk phone rang, and she rolled her eyes. “I’m sorry. I really have to take this.”

Preston shook his head. “Not a problem. I understand. See you later.”

She nodded and then he left. What the hell was he doing? He hadn’t pursued a woman in a very long time. He’d never actually had to do the chasing. They chased him, although it didn’t usually turn out very well. They went after him for his money, his position, and his family name.

Preston had never had a relationship where he honestly felt the woman liked him for the person inside, rather than for what he could give her in terms of possessions or social standing. But Vivian didn’t give a shit about any of that. He knew that much about her already. She was passionate about her town, her family, and this hospital.

But what about Luke Henderson? Was she passionate about him, too? He was the hometown boy next door. There was no way to compete with something like that. That had been him on the phone. Was he the reason she seemed so different today?

He should have made an effort to see her during the evening this week, but he hadn’t wanted to push it. That she’d agreed to go out with him at all was still a surprise to him. He’d gone out of his way each day to cross paths with her at work, but there was more he could have done.

Still, he wasn’t used to competing. Not for jobs, or prestige, or women. His life had changed so much during the past year that Preston almost began to believe in karma. Was there a lesson here, in this tiny hick town? Or had he merely met a woman who wasn’t impressed with his CV or his bank account? It had happened a few times, but it had also been his experience that women like that weren’t comfortable with five star hotels and paparazzi waiting outside restaurants to snap a photo or two.

He wouldn’t have that to deal with here, or even in Nashville for that matter. Here, he was a Yankee. Or, more correctly as he’d recently been told, a damn Yankee. The difference between the two, as he’d been informed just this morning by one of the respiratory therapists was that a damn Yankee didn’t go home.

Preston grabbed a sandwich from the cafeteria and ate it in the physicians’ lounge. No one else was in there at the moment, and for that he was grateful. He hadn’t exactly been welcomed here with open arms. People weren’t outright nasty, but neither had they gone out of their way to get to know him. He intended to ask Vivian tonight what he could do, if anything, to make the transition easier.

He’d worked at Northwestern Memorial so long that he’d taken his acquaintances there for granted. He’d done his residency there, and then his fellowship, and had climbed the ranks quickly. It was still a shock most days to realize that he’d been forced to leave. And he hadn’t done anything to deserve it. To his dying day he’d stand by that.

He was stuck here for now, at least for a year. After that, it was up to the board whether or not he’d have a more permanent position. So he needed to keep his nose clean, ignore the thinly-veiled digs on his heritage, and make sure he never gave anyone the impression he’d just tried to hit on them.

Was it a huge mistake to go out with Vivian tonight? She would have said so if she’d thought
it would cause him trouble down the road. Then again, she had said that, and he’d pushed for it anyway. Was he simply a damn fool, in addition to being a damn Yankee, or was it something else? Something about her that he wasn’t able to resist?

She was certainly pretty. No doubt about that. And she had an air of mystery and passion underneath the carefully guarded exterior. He could sense it. Deep inside Vivian Tremaine was a woman full of fun and adventure, just begging to be unleashed.

Hometown boy Luke wouldn’t see that in her. She was the girl next door, nothing more. The one he might have let get away. But that didn’t mean he had the advantage. Not for a woman like Vivian. She’d married the bad boy instead of the safe bet like Luke, which meant she craved something that she knew this town could never give her.

Preston was determined to find out what that was. He only hoped that once he did, helping Vivian explore her fantasies wouldn’t also cost him his job.

  * * * *

Vivian had vacillated the rest of the day between calling Preston to cancel, and calling Luke to ask him to come along. This was crazy. She’d never dated two men at once. She didn’t know how to do this, and she wasn’t sure she wanted to.

Preston had noticed something different in her earlier, but she wasn’t sure what she was supposed to do about that. She couldn’t help the elation she felt whenever she let the memories of last night wash over her. But where did that leave him? Vivian had never been deliberately cruel to another human being, and she wasn’t about to start now. She liked him, and she wanted to get to know him better.

But she’d been half in love with Luke most of her life. Last night was the culmination of all her secret fantasies about the man. Even while Cletus had been incarcerated, she hadn’t stopped thinking about Luke. The guilt she’d felt over that fact once Susan passed had been terrible, but it hadn’t stopped her from daydreaming about what it would be like to make love to Luke.

When she heard Preston’s car in the driveway, Vivian put on a smile and left the house. She’d chosen to wear a cotton flowered skirt, light sweater, and her dark, dressy cowboy boots because jeans seemed a bit underdressed for his taste.
