Shawn smiled. “I had an accident on one of the sites I was working on.”
Gaël pushed his shirt out of the way and caressed a finger over the scar before reaching in to kiss it. “You need to be more careful, Shawn,” he whispered.
Shawn trembled. “You’re so tender….”
“You deserve such good things in life, Shawn.” Gaël pressed his lips to the scar before backing away. “Un poisson et un oiseau peuvent se marier, mais où vivraient-ils?”
“Gaël….”
“We’re going to have to make a decision as to where we go from here. I leave Paris in two days, and I have no idea if I can take you home with me—hell, I don’t know if you want to go home with me or I go home with you…. All I know is I don’t want to lose you.”
“I don’t want to lose you either—where do you live?”
“Marseille.”
“Nice.” Shawn pulled Gaël to stop in the center of a bridge. He cradled Gaël’s cheeks and looked up into his face. “There’s a story about a guy from the United States who met the love of his life through a follow on Twitter—or was on Instagram? Anyways, he moved across the world to be with this man, and they’re still together now. We met each other face to face from the very beginning. I could touch you, feel, hold you—so shouldn’t we have a better go at it?”
“Would you be willing to move here—to be with me? Are we doing long distance?”
“I wouldn’t move immediately… after we’ve grown to know each other. As much as I’d love to think this would be perfect and end like a fairytale, it may not.”
Gaël nodded.
“So, let’s take it slow. I will go with you to Marseille in a couple of days, and we’ll see where that goes.”
“You know, we cannot be on this bridge and not kiss. It would be blasphemous.”
Shawn arched a brow and looked around. “Um—what’s so special about this bridge?” He stepped away to look into the water.
“That is the Seine. This bridge is called the Ponte Alexander III. It was made famous from the movie Midnight in Paris. Well, that’s what I thought, anyways.”
Shawn suddenly felt like a moron. He grinned and allowed Gaël to trap him against the wall of the bridge. Sighing, he tangled his arms about Gaël’s neck, snaked his fingers through Gaël’s hair, and offered up his lips.
Chapter Five
The sun was in the middle of the sky as Gaël rolled over, hoping to touch Shawn’s naked body. When his hand hit the empty bed, he groaned and pressed his lips into a thin line. Over the past couple of days, he learned one thing about Shawn: he hated sitting around doing nothing. Even when he was on the phone with his brother back home, Shawn was stretching and shadow boxing.
Gaël wanted to put his head down again and go back to sleep, but from somewhere in the room, a cell phone rang. He hung half his body off the bed and searched until he found Shawn’s phone. Without thinking, he pressed the green button on the screen, then pressed the phone to his ear. “Hello?”
“Gaël? Is that you?”
“Um… yes. Who is this?”
“It’s Shawn’s sister.”
“Bella? Hi, how’d you know it was me?”
Bella laughed softly. “What other man would answer Shawn’s phone?”
Gaël shrugged needlessly, still hanging off the bed. “He might have met someone here.”
“Yeah, sure, right. You don’t believe that, do you? I mean, he dropped his life here to come see you because your friend told him you’d smile just for seeing him. He owns a business here, Gaël. He never leaves it.”
Gaël took a breath. “How are you?”
“Your segue sucks—just like Shawn’s.” He heard her sigh. “I’m good. So, you’re answering his phone—does this mean you two are serious?”
Gaël licked his lips, quite aware of the blood rushing to his head due to his position. “I hope so. What would you think if I moved to Everbank with him?”
“What about your business?”
“I can do my job from anywhere.”
“If you two make it and you feel that’s the best option, then the two of you must talk about it. Even though I’d love it for him to stay here but not if it won’t make him happy.”
Gaël nodded needlessly. “True.”
“Is he around?”
“Well, you know your brother—can’t sit still to save his life. I’m pretty sure he’s wandering the estate somewhere—I think.”
She whistled. “Estate, eh? Nice. Listen, if you find him, tell him I called. It’s not important. I just wanted to talk with him about you behind your back.” She laughed.
Gaël couldn’t help chuckling. Shawn was right. She did have an amazing sense of humor. “I will.”
“See ya!”
Gaël hung up the phone and it beeped at him. He frowned, shifted over to the left, and grabbed his charger. Thankfully it fit into Shawn’s phone, so he plugged it into the wall and pulled himself back on the bed. He couldn’t help the smile on his lips then.
Rolling from the bed, he quickly hauled on a pair of track pants, finger-raked his hair back, and descended the stairs. He entered the kitchen, grabbed a cookie from the bowl, and poured himself a drink. He shoved the whole cookie into his mouth and chewed while climbing the stairs and let himself out the door to the balcony. He figured Shawn had either gone for a run or was checking out the property. His eyes caught sight of Shawn, and Gaël’s breath caught in his throat.
Gaël couldn’t believe how lucky he was as he stopped on the balcony, watching Shawn below in the pool. Shawn was doing laps, the clear water sliding over his beautiful skin, leaving Gaël jealous and turned on. But man could not live on sex alone—and he and Shawn went at it like rabbits. Even on the drive from the airport, he had to pull the car over and climb into the backseat to watch Shawn toss his head back even as Shawn rode him.
Gaël took a long drink from his glass, set it on the glass table and descended the stairs. Peeling his shirt off, he dropped it on the deck along with his pants and boxers before climbing into the water just as Shawn reached the other side and turned. He waited patiently, and when Shawn got to Gaël, he swallowed the lump in his throat and watched his lover ease out of the water.
“You’re awake,” Shawn said. “I didn’t want to wake you because you seemed tired.”
“I didn’t realize how exhausted I was. Your sister called. I hope you don’t mind, but I answered your phone.”
Shawn tilted his head. “Is she okay?”
“Yeah. She said she wanted to talk to you about me behind my back.”
Shawn laughed. “Sounds like something she would say. She’s a kind woman, Gaël. And for the record, I’m not mad. I don’t have anything to hide.”
Gaël smiled, wrapped an arm around Shawn’s wet body, and pulled him in close. He licked his lips before kissing Shawn, enjoying the way their tongues did battle before Shawn allowed him to suck on his. Shawn moaned and pulled his mouth away to nibble down the side of Gaël’s neck to his shoulder, then dropped kisses across from it.
They made out like that—like teenagers. Soon their cocks were hard and sword-playing beneath the pool water. Gaël trembled each time the head of his dick brushed against Shawn until Shawn wrapped his fingers around it and stroke gently.
“I need you to sit on the side of the pool.”
Gaël backed up, then hopped onto the wall and spread his leg. He watched, holding his breath, as Shawn braced both his hands on the deck and bend over until his mouth was impaled on Gaël’s very hard cock. Gaël ground his teeth, fighting to keep his moans in as Shawn nursed on him. Each time he hit the back of Shawn’s throat, Gaël’s toes curled, a hot sensation filled the pit of Gaël’s stomach, and his eyes rolled into the back of his head. Soon the fire was so much he held the back of Shawn’s head with one hand and drove his hips upward meeting Shawn’s mouth.
“Yes!” He panted. “If you keep that up, I’m going to cum for sure.”
His warning didn’t stop S
hawn. In fact, Shawn seemed to be working hard, sucking him deeper, even added his hand to the mix. Gaël was making sounds he’d never heard before, but he didn’t care. Shawn had him spinning beautifully, eyes closed, head tossed back and hips driving into his mouth. Gaël’s breathing was a problem. Instead of breath, Shawn’s name seeped from Gaël’s lips. Finally, he went stiff, and for a moment, he thought his heart stopped. There was nothing he could do about it but arch backward and allowed Shawn to drive him mad.
His orgasm caused him to tremble. He couldn’t seem to stop the shaking even as Shawn pulled him back into the water and into his arms.
Shawn massaged his back, caressing gently.
“I want you to fuck me,” Gaël whispered, adding meaning to his words by licking the spot where Shawn’s neck turned into his shoulder. “I want you to hold me against this deck and drill me.”
“Damn baby—I didn’t know you got down like that.”
Gaël chuckled. “The question now becomes, are you up for it?”
“Turn around for me.” Shawn replied, cradling Gaël’s face and kissing him. “Let me see your ass.”
****
Shawn backed up a little and almost fainted when Gaël turned. He trailed his eyes from Gaël’s shoulders down his muscular back to a very sexy, perfect ass. It was rounded, dripping with clear water. Shawn held back a groan as he reached forward to palm both cheeks. He caress gently, mesmerized by it, before leaning forward and dropping a kiss to each. Each time his lips landed softly against Gaël’s ass, Gaël moaned. Shawn moved his head up, spreading Gaël open and licking him like a broken-open ice cream cone. He slurped at Gaël, sucking, licking, and plunging his tongue into Gaël’s quivering hole.
“Shawn, baby!”
Gaël reached back, shoving Shawn’s head into him while arching his ass higher. Shawn took the moment to lick at Gaël, lapping at his delectable crack. “I’ve never ben… Si bon… si bon….” Gaël repeated breathily. He broke into whispered French, then shouted it to the sky. It was as though he had no ability to translate what he was saying.
Shawn didn’t mind. In fact, the French turned him on, made his blood boil in all the best ways. He lifted his head and watched Gaël slumped over, half his body on the deck, the other half in the water, as his shoulders rose and fell. Shawn smiled, proud of the way he caused Gaël to lose control. There was no way to fake such a reaction.
“Do you want to get fucked, Gaël?”
Gaël panted but nodded.
“No. No nodding. Say ‘I want to get fucked.’”
“You have to ask me nicely.” Gaël smirked.
Shawn sucked his middle finger until it was slippery with saliva. He used his other hand to spread Gaël’s cheeks, then slowly, deliberately, inserted the finger all the way up the second knuckle. Gaël was so damn tight, he was so tempted to pull the finger out and used his cock instead. But he had a lesson to teach Gaël, a lesson they both would enjoy.
Gaël hissed, stilled, and Shawn kept the finger going until his fists hit Gaël’s ass.
“Fuck!”
“You like that?” Shawn questioned, working the finger in and out of Gaël. “Is this asking nice enough?”
“Yes—oh—yes.”
“It can only get better—imagine my cock, here.”
“Stop talking dirty. You’re gonna make me cum.”
“But isn’t that the point?”
Gaël moaned as Shawn’s fingers slammed forward again. “Yes… I want to be fucked!”
“That’s a good boy.”
Shawn took Gaël’s hand and led him from the pool into the house. He managed to find a condom in the bedroom from the tangle of clothes on the floor, and soon he was buried to the hilt in Gaël. For a moment he could have sworn he was being burned alive. But that didn’t stop him from pushing Gaël into the wall, his face pressed into the glass of the window, while he fucked him from behind. He loved that Gaël clawed at the glass while screaming for more. Those words triggered such a wonderful, carnal sensation in him.
Gripping Gaël’s hips tighter, Shawn pressed his eyes close, fighting to keep his orgasm, but couldn’t. All he managed to do was pull his tender dick from Gaël magnificent hole and lead Gaël to the bed. Shawn shoved him to it, and Gaël instantly assumed the position. He lay on his back, legs spread and hiked. Shawn watched Gaël playing with himself, loving the way his muscles trembled, the way his pink tongue flowed over his lips, and the way Gaël’s eyes rolled in his head.
“You are so damn sexy,” Shawn admitted.
Shawn climbed to the bed and penetrated Gaël once more. This time Gaël wrapped his legs around Shawn’s body, and though he was at the edge, Shawn merely tossed his head back while his hips fire forward. Shawn watched Gaël orgasm—body stiff, back arched, cum flying through the air with the force of the climax. A drop of spunk landed on Shawn’s lip. It burned sweetly, and without thinking, he licked it away. That was all he needed—to taste Gaël, hot and tangy on his tongue. He came buried deep within Gaël’s body. This was heaven, it had to be.
Chapter Six
“Je veux que tu sois mon petit ami.”
Shawn rolled over in the enclosure of Gaël’s arm and eyed him. “Baby, the French? It’s sexy as hell, but if you want me to know what you’re talking about….”
Gaël chuckled. “I know, English. I… was asking if you wanted to be my boyfriend. I know it sounds a little stupid or childish, but I didn’t know how else to ask.”
“You’re asking me to be your man, Gaël?”
Gaël nodded. “What do you say?”
“I don’t know. I mean, it would be nice to tell people my ‘boyfriend is from France and is away on business.’ Or that ‘he’s the sinfully gorgeous man with a nice ass standing over there….’”
“You’re pulling my leg, aren’t you?”
Shawn smirked. “I never kid about a gorgeous man with a nice ass.”
“Can we be serious for a second?” Gaël remained silent as Shawn’s shoulders rose and fell.
Shawn sat up and turned to face him and curled his legs under. It was hard to lay there and not touch Shawn. But they needed to have this talk.
“I’m forty-five years old, Shawn. I’ve spent the best part of the last three years looking for a good man and so far came up empty. I was about to give up when well… I need to make sure you’re serious about trying this and I’m not the only one….”
“Gaël, I put aside my life to come here,” Shawn explained, his voice soft. “If I wasn’t serious, I wouldn’t be here.”
“Maybe you were just curious… a free trip to France is a free trip to France.”
Shawn shoved at Gaël’s chest and jerked from the bed after sucking his teeth. “That’s an asshole thing to say.” He stopped by the window and stared out.
“I’m sorry. But we’re being honest here, right?”
“Yeah, we’re being honest. If you think I’m here for your money, then you can go to hell. I’ve never been a millionaire and I’ll never be one. I own my company with my brother, and we build houses. It pays the bills and keeps us comfortable and happy.”
“Shawn… I’m just covering my bases.”
Shawn didn’t say anything. He continued staring out the window, which made Gaël more nervous than he’d ever been.
Slowly, he climbed off the bed and approached Shawn from behind. He snaked a hand around Shawn’s body and pressed a palm into Shawn’s chest. Gaël eased in close, kissing the back of Shawn’s neck and trying desperately to get a word, a smile, a moan—anything—from Shawn. “Talk to me, darling,” Gaël implored. “Say something—please.”
“When I told my brother I was gay, I thought he’d flip out. I knew my sister—she was one of the biggest LGBT supporters I knew—but my brother never once voice his opinion on the subject. When I told Bella, she only kissed me, hugged me, and told me at least now she had someone to go to for killer fashion.”
Gaël laughed between kissing of Shawn’s na
pe.
“Joke’s on her—my fashion sense sucks. Anyway, I spent three months climbing the walls, fighting to build up enough courage to tell this man who had been there for me with everything—break-ups, skinned knees, failing grades, bullies—to tell him I was gay. Every bad thing that my confession could end with sprang to mind. It got so bad, I stopped taking his calls. Then one night he cornered me at my favorite bar, and I just… just blurted it out. I could hear the planet stop spinning. Everything went quiet, like something happened and everything that always made such a hum stopped to listen to my confession. Frankie hugged me. For a long time he said nothing. He leaned in, wrapped his arms around me, and held on so tight I could barely breathe.”
“Then what happened?”
“He told me he loved me. You see, I was so worried about what he’d think and imagining the worse. I used all my energy to fight a battle I didn’t need to fight. It’s the same thing here, Gaël.” Shawn turned in his arms then. “I could take the next three months and battle what I’m feeling inside, which would amount to a lot of wasted time because I know even if we have an argument at three o’clock, by three thirty, you’ll have me bent over a table, fucking me. And I’d be enjoying every second of it. I know if we disliked each other one minute, you’ll be holding me and making sure I’m okay the next.”
“And how do you know that?”
“My father had the same feeling about my mother—they were together forty years.”
Gaël nodded before intertwining his fingers with Shawn’s. He lifted Shawn’s hand to his mouth and dropped soft, light kisses along the back of the fingers. Finally turning the hand over, Gaël kissed the inside of Shawn’s wrist. “So you’re my boyfriend.”
“Yes. I’m your boyfriend.”
Shawn’s voice cracked with the admission, and Gaël met his gaze. The sun shining in through the bedroom window flowed over Gaël’s skin, but it didn’t feel as wonderful as the hope Shawn had given him. He stepped closer, wrapped his arms around Shawn, and pressed a kiss to the corner of Shawn’s mouth. “I will make you very happy, Shawn Rhodes. I will make you glad you chose me. I will not take your family from you—we will make this work between us.”
