Hannah the Healer (Cowboys and Angels Book 7) Page 11

by George H. McVey

“But you did realize it, Henry, and we have a lifetime to love each other.”

He nodded and then proceeded to show her just how he planned to love her for the rest of their life.

Later, as they lay in each other’s arms there was a sudden weight on the foot of the bed and a loud COCK-A-DOODLE-DO!

Henry sighed. “Do you think if you asked, Mrs. Ryder would come and take her rooster back with her?”

Hannah giggled. “I don’t think so. I’m pretty sure Bob will be with us till his job here is done.”

“I was afraid you’d say that.”

He looked at the bird sitting at the end of the bed. “Fine, Bob, you can stay but you’ve got to stop letting yourself in the house.”

The rooster turned his head to the right and looked at Henry with his right eye, then tilted it to the left and looked at Henry with the left eye. Then he clucked several times as if to say, “Deal with it. I’m right where I’m supposed to be.” Henry just shrugged and then let himself get lost in his wife’s lips once more.

  The End.
