“Look here, kid, they had to go. Don’t even start that shit with me, or I will cut that pecker of yours off, you dummy. We have to stick together. We can’t afford to be the way we were because things are different now. We lost a lot of our own men because Major Hamzbecker decided that we should save people. You remember what happened to him, right? We were nice enough to rescue a few families, and he didn’t deserve what happened to him. We fed them, and we tried to start a community, but what did that bitch do? She went and shanked him in his sleep because he ordered the killing of her husband, but he had already started to turn right in front of our eyes. Major Hamzbecker took a few stabs to the neck, heart, and face. She deserved to be executed. I had fun with her first, of course, before I took her head off with my blade. What a waste that was. We can’t afford to get comfortable like that ever again, kid.”
“I’m not a dummy. I hope we leave soon. I hate staying in one place for too long. The last place didn’t work for us. We need to find a place with strong gates. It would sure be nice to have some women in our company. I’m sure you know what I mean. I sure hope that I get laid again someday soon. I miss it already. I have to whack myself off to keep myself sane. The world is insane, and everything has fallen apart. We lost a lot of men. We’re a broken group, and we’re barely soldiers anymore. Soldiers save people, remember? It feels weird taking orders from the chain of command. It doesn’t feel right anymore.”
“Hang in there, kid. You can whack yourself off as much as you want when we find a comfort zone. If we’re lucky, we may even find some lady friends to get busy with. I prefer a lady with big soft melons. That’s what I want, but we can only hope for now, kid. Keep that head of yours in the right place because we can’t afford another mistake. Just finish up that smoke and relax. We have a tank with us. Who is going to stop us? Those walking creepers aren’t going to break us up so easily since they are slow. We’re a strong group, and the way things have been going, others have been a bigger problem for us. Things will get better, kid. We have to be a little crazy to survive this thing. You keep that melon head of yours up and pay attention to your surroundings.
Don’t underestimate the creepers. They may be slow, but those creepers seem to come out of nowhere.”
I make my way closer to the front area. I remain hidden behind the bushes.
“Sergeant Cross!”
“Sir!”
“Make sure the soldiers are ready to sweep the area in the morning. I want every house on the block searched. We are running low on supplies. We don’t take any chances here. Civilians are trouble. Shoot to kill. We don’t want another mess. We don’t know who is infected. I mean it, Sergeant. Shoot to kill, got it?”
“Understood, Sir!”
Sergeant Cross gathers his troops.
“Listen up! I want all of you ready to go, first thing in the morning. We will take this block by tomorrow night, and we are going to move in three teams. I want every home searched and marked. Take everything that will keep us alive. We will not be going through the same trouble as before. Take no survivors, and if any of you jarheads see a civilian, you make sure to shoot them dead. Kill them before they kill you, don’t let them speak, and don’t hesitate unless you want to be tricked by their influence. Remember, I want them dead! There will be no disasters this time. Did you hear me, Private Knicks? ”
“Loud and clear, Sergeant!”
“I hope you and Corporal Gummerland had a good smoke because it might just be your last! I’m serious. Don’t screw around. If you see a civilian, you shoot them. Don’t ask questions, and don’t you dare hesitate. Hesitating gets you killed. Be smart, not dead. Don’t forget where we came from, and never forget what happened to our other men. Do you understand me, Private Knicks?”
“I understand you, Sergeant!”
“Good! Now get moving! We have a big day ahead of us!”
I rush back to the way I came, and I have a lot of time to figure out what I’m going to do. I get back inside my house, rush to the basement, and go through the weapons. I don’t know what is going on with the military, but they’ve completely lost it. I can’t leave my home because I’ve worked too hard to give up and leave now. I have all my supplies here, so I will have to fight them, and I don’t want to run into them again. I wouldn’t want others to run into them. My family and friends might still be out there. I don’t want these crazies to kill them. It’s kill or be killed.
I move a few weapons upstairs, close the basement door to keep Norman out of the action, and I observe the soldiers as they continue to guard the area. Suddenly, the soldiers start to fire their weapons as a horde of zombies approach the neighborhood. I see hundreds of zombies, and the tank starts to move forward while the soldiers rush inside the house, and they fire their weapons from inside the house. The tank aims at the horde, fires one loud blast, and blows a massive hole through the horde, yet the zombies continue to march forward. The zombies are like roaches as the soldiers continue to unload their weapons on the horde. I will wait, and let the soldiers take care of business. The tank fires another shot, and the blast hits a car and creates a fiery explosion. The tank moves forward through the horde as it slowly crushes dozens of zombies. The zombies follow the tank down the street.
Now is my chance to act, so I pick up the rocket launcher and rush to the backyard. The tank is far away, and the soldiers remain in the house, so I make my way out of the darkness, and I aim the rocket launcher at the house. The soldiers do not notice me. I fire—and the house explodes! I take a moment to admire the destruction. I can hear survivors of the blast, and they are suffering, so I rush into my house, hurry to the basement, grab the flamethrower, and I rush back outside to the blasted house. The soldiers continue to cry out in agony.
The soldiers must be buried inside. The house can’t be entered or exited. Several soldiers cry out for help, so I take the flamethrower and torch the house, and the flames are devastating as I walk around the house to make sure that every part of the house is torched. The house is an inferno, and I can hear the men suffering since they are being burned to a crisp. The zombies continue to follow the tank as it approaches, and there are still many zombies, so I rush back into my house, grab my rifle, run upstairs and watch out the window.
The tank stops as the zombies surround the tank, and I open my window as a soldier opens the hatch. He stands out to observe the burning house as the zombies surround him. I aim my rifle at the soldier as he takes his rifle and starts to mow down the horde since there are so many zombies. He uses his pistol, but runs out of ammo, so he takes his knife and starts stabbing each zombie in the head. He manages to get every last zombie, and he looks exhausted as looks around, and he smiles as he stretches his arms. He observes the area as I aim my rifle at his forehead. He suddenly looks up, sees me, and smiles.
“You’re a sight for sore eyes. What’s your name? I’m Sergeant Cross. The party is down here, beautiful. It looks like it’s just the two of us, babe! Right?”
I blast—one deadly shot into his forehead and that was a lucky shot since I thought I was going to miss.
I make my way down to the basement and let Norman out. I’m exhausted, and I hope that everything will be back to the way it was by the morning. I get myself cleaned up, go to the couch, and undress as Norman watches me. I try to get comfortable, and I get ready to sleep.
I wake up the next morning. I stretch out my body as Norman stands in the same place. He watches my every move. I get up to walk to the washroom. I feel like a dirty girl. I have a look at myself in the mirror, and I notice that I have a few sores around my mouth, but I don`t care since there’s no one that can see the sores. I know that Norman doesn’t give a shit. Norman spread his germs to me, and I love it. Norman is a filthy bastard, but he’s unusually attractive, and nothing can change my mind about the way I feel about him. I’ve never had a lover like Norman. He’s everything to me; he’s my life, and I want to be with him forever. He is spectacular when we fool around
, and he keeps me feeling alive. I’m glad that Norman doesn’t sleep. I want him to stand guard and watch me every night. He’s my guardian angel, and everyone should have a Norman.
I want to do something different today. I need to get outside more often, so I pack a lot of weapons and food. I’m ready to leave, and I take Norman outside to the car. I want to check out my apartment, but I’m not sure how long we will stay at my apartment. I really miss my apartment. That’s where it all started for me, and my heart will always be there. I take Norman’s hand, and I try to put him in the car. Trying to put Norman inside the car is not easy.
It has taken about ten minutes to show him how to get inside the car. Norman still has a lot to learn, but he knows how to stand guard while I sleep. I’m ready to get out of here so I drive off to travel to my apartment, and I can’t wait to see it again. My heart beats faster as I drive, and the only thing I can hear is Norman’s groan. I turn on the radio, but the radio is full of static.
“You’re going to love my apartment since it’s nice and cozy. We should make love on my bed. You probably have no idea what I’m talking about. I want you on my bed, Norman. Do you understand me now? I know you want to. You certainly know how to express yourself when we fool around. I should teach you a few things. I wonder if you can drive. It’s not hard at all, and I bet you would make a good driver. I love you so much, Norman. I don’t know what I would do without you. You’re one in a million.”
The weather is not looking good, and lightning strikes all over the place. Norman growls as the lightning illuminates the dark skies. The wind picks up, but I don’t have to worry about the bad visibility on the road. It’s not like there are other drivers around, and I won’t stop now since I’m almost at my apartment building. I finally reach my apartment, and I grab my bag of supplies. It’s still raining down pretty hard, and I don’t want to get too wet. I quickly take Norman out of the car, and we make it inside the building. I take out my flashlight. Nothing much has changed.
Everything is disgusting as usual. We take the stairs, which is a long way up. I’m not fond that my apartment is all the way on the top floor. With no elevator working, this is going to be exhausting. It’s a long way up. We slowly take our time climbing the stairs, but we have all the time in the world. It’s not like we have somewhere important to be.
I don’t have a job to go to. My waitressing days are over. I have no idea what Norman used to do before the world went to shit. It could be better that I don’t know, but the mystery arouses me. He looks like he was a student and played college football.
I’m dying to know what Norman was like before he turned. He must have had a lot of girlfriends. He’s a wild animal now, though I wonder how good he was with girls before he turned.
Climbing the stairs seems like it will never end. It’s so creepy and musty. We finally reach my apartment, and I open the door. It’s like I never left my apartment, and Norman seems to enjoy himself as he wanders around my apartment. We should stay at my apartment for at least a couple of days since there’s no place like home. As shitty as my apartment is, I consider it my real home, so I sit down and make myself comfortable. It’s quiet inside my apartment, and all I can hear is Norman’s groaning as Norman stands still and looks out the window. He observes the devastated city as I wonder what he is thinking.
“What do you think of my place, Norman? This place is where I lived, before the world went crappy. I didn’t have much of a life. I went to work, and I came home. Waitressing sucked, and I don’t think that I’ve ever served you. I would remember a face like yours, even before your face changed. I remember the cheap asses who never liked to tip well, or tip at all. We’re all alone, Norman. What do you want to do? I can think of some stuff that we can do together. I think you know what I mean.”
For all I know, Norman understands every word that comes out of my mouth. He just needs to express himself to show that he understands me. It’s obvious that he loves having his way with me. I’m more than happy to have him in my life. He seems to feel at home, though I wonder what he did for work before the world ended. If only Norman had a wallet on him.
A wallet can tell a lot about a person, and Norman is a real mystery to me. He would certainly take a bullet for me, and I trust Norman. I need him more than ever. It’s hard to find a dedicated dead guy like Norman. He’s everything I want in a dead guy, and he doesn’t want to eat the flesh from my bones. The dead love nothing more than to eat bloody flesh from the living. I wonder if I will ever know why I’m still alive. I’m not sure if I deserve to be alive, but I’m glad to be alive.
I finally have some purpose in my life. I know what I’m meant to do, and wonder how many people are alive in the world. I’m dying to know the answer. I know that I have to travel to search for answers, and I’m not going to stop until I’m dead. Nobody is going to stop me, as long as I have Norman by my side.
There’s a lot of time to kill, so I stand up and take Norman by the hand. I want to have some fun with Norman, so I assume the position, and I get on my knees. I start to run my hands around Norman’s crotch. He starts to groan and looks excited. He looks down at me with an evil smile since he knows exactly what I’m doing. I know this part of Norman too well. I slowly unzip Norman’s pants, and I slowly pull them down. Norman is so hard as I pull at his manhood, and I like to stroke it with my hands.
I tease the tip of Norman’s hard thingy with my tongue. Norman growls as I tease him, and I start to suck on his hardness. I’m able to deep throat as I thrust my head back and forth. Norman loves this so much. I can certainly tell that Norman is about to explode, so I prepare for this special event, and I open my mouth. My mouth is wide open as I hold Norman’s hard thing in position. Norman grunts as his stuff bursts out, and I manage to catch and swallow everything that flies out. Norman seems satisfied. I will do anything to please him.
Swallowing is the easy part, but keeping the stuff inside me is a challenge. The taste and smell are horrific. Suddenly, I puke—it out! Norman watches as I vomit all over the floor. I look at the mess, and I start puking some more. The sight and smell are unbearable, but I love to do nasty things to make Norman happy. I start to clean up the mess. I feel sick to my stomach, and I’m nauseous. I have a seat on the couch as Norman stands over me and watches me.
Norman starts to groan, and I think he’s hungry again. Norman sure has an enormous appetite for raw human flesh.
I have second thoughts about killing people in order to feed Norman. There has to be another way that I can teach Norman to eat other foods. I wonder if he will consider becoming a vegan. There has to be something else that he likes to eat. I wonder if I can convince him to like other foods, so I offer him all kinds of food. I try to feed canned goods like pasta and canned peaches to him, but he refuses to eat it, and I try to put it in his mouth, so he growls in disgust.
There’s only one thing he will eat so I will have to find humans for him to eat, and I hate that I have to do this. I doubt that there are many innocent people out there. I feel like a serial killer, and it’s not going to be easy. I wonder how long he can go without eating. We spend the next couple of days doing the same things. Doing the same things every day satisfies us.
It’s a new day, and we leave the apartment. The travel home doesn’t seem as long. We finally arrive back home, and we walk inside the house. The smell is horrible. The rotting brothers in the basement make the house smell bad. I clean up Norman’s mess, and I shove the remains into the fireplace. The remains burn to a crisp as Norman wanders around the house. He is very curious. I wonder what goes through that mind of his.
He must be thinking something in order to be wandering around the way he does. The days are long. I’m thinking of killing people so that Norman can eat something soon. I wonder how I’m going to do it since there are many ways I can pull this off. I might go out and randomly find someone for Norman to eat, and I know that time is running out. I need to find fresh meat for Norman to eat. I’m sur
e nothing serious will happen to him if he doesn’t eat, but I can’t stand to see Norman grumpy.
Chapter 11
The day finally arrives, and it’s time to hunt for Norman’s food since he must be hungry, and I know that he has an appetite. He always seems to eat like there is no tomorrow. There’s a severe storm outside, but no storm is going to stop me today. I’m going to defy Mother Nature today, and I’m going to take Norman with me. We leave my apartment, and I escort Norman into the car. I’m fully loaded. I have my assault rifle, knives, a few grenades, and a lot of ammunition. I have no idea where I’m going to end up. I’m just going to drive far away until I find a place with people. I’m on my way out.
The weather doesn’t help my journey since it makes everything hard to see, but at least the air smells better than usual today. I drive around from place to place, and it is as if I’m going in circles, but I guess I’m just tired of driving. I search parts of the city, but I find nothing as I drive out of the city. I need to expand my search. This trip is going to take longer than I expected. I really hope that I don’t run out of gas because that will not be a good thing. I pull out of the city and head out to the unknown. The fierce storm hits down hard. Norman groans as the thunder erupts. I wonder how Norman feels. I try the radio to see if there is any sign of life. It’s just as I suspected. There’s nothing but static again. I must be losing my mind to think there would be any broadcast. We could use some music right now. It’s kind of depressing to be in a world without music.
“Come on Norman, sing! You should at least groan something. Do you like music? I bet you loved music before the world changed, and there is no way that you liked rap music. You probably loved country music. I think you were the type of guy who loved to sing in the shower. I will never know. Only you know the truth, Norman.”
Norman looks at me and growls. He occasionally turns to look outside so he must be enjoying the countryside. I wonder if Norman understands me and if he is holding back from communicating with me.
