“Reese! Please!” Victoria cried, opening herself to him.

Victoria was trying to maneuver Reese’s cock inside her. He picked himself up slightly and slowly entered her succulent pussy. He went excruciatingly slow and she screamed in frustration. He covered her mouth with his and kissed her slowly as he moved in and out of her. This time he was stroking her from the inside out. The friction that he was causing inside her made her moan in sheer pleasure. He stopped and held her close as he rolled over onto his back. She sat upright and started slowly gyrating her hips, pushing him even deeper inside her.

  “Victoria,” Reese whispered.

Reese ran his hands up and down her body, burning a trail she could still feel after his fingers were long gone. His hands kept coming back to her hips. She could tell he wanted to grab her hips and force her to fuck him. He was controlling himself, not wanting to hurt her, instead letting her take charge of their pace. She continued her slow tease.

  “Victoria! Christ!” Reese called.

“Do you like this, Reese?” Victoria asked.

  “Yes!” Reese panted.

Victoria raked her nails across Reese’s chest and over his sculpted belly. She smiled when she was rewarded with his low, sensual growl. He couldn’t wait any longer. He grabbed her ass and started forcing her movements up and down. She loved the power this commanding man had just given her and was not about to let him have it back. Victoria took Reese’s hands and laced her fingers in his. She continued the gyrating motion with her hips. She watched as his chest heaved. His breathing was shallow and quick, and he was so close. She had a sensation she had never felt before. She felt another orgasm wash over her again. He tightened his grip and squeezed her hands.

  “You’re hurting me,” Victoria said.

Reese immediately released her hands and gripped her thighs. Victoria gave herself over to the wave that swept her to another orgasm. No longer able to stop himself, he grabbed her hips and thrust himself upward, growling as he came, too. She dug her nails into his thighs as she felt the walls of her pussy grip him, milking him. He thrust once more, holding her in place. He opened his eyes and looked up at her. She lay down on his chest and kissed him.

“That was intense,” Reese said through her kisses.

  “Yes it was,” Victoria said.

Victoria was exhausted. She slid off of Reese and he immediately pulled her close, snuggling. She fell asleep in his arms.

  * * * *

Reese just had the best sex ever in his life. As much as he didn’t want to compare Victoria to Maggie, he couldn’t help it, and he realized there was no comparison. Victoria could do things to him no one had ever done. He watched her sleep and thought about what he had done with her and her reaction. He had never gone down on a woman before. Maggie didn’t like it and wouldn’t let him. The sex he always had before was hurried or routine. Maggie always figured if his dick was hard he was good to go.

Victoria and Reese took the time to play and the sex that it led to was something he had never experienced before. This time when he came, he could feel it in the small of his back. The sensation still sent a shiver through him. He felt Victoria snuggle closer. He could stay like this for days, wrapped around Victoria, touching, kissing, and making love to her. He could feel his eyes getting heavy. She turned around and he snuggled against her, spooning her as she slept. He never remembered falling asleep.

Reese opened his eyes at five thirty. He was fully back into his day-to-day rhythm. Victoria was still sleeping next to him. He kissed her gently, slipping out of bed and into the bathroom as quietly as he could. He took a shower and when he returned to the bedroom, the bed was empty and he could smell the coffee brewing downstairs.

  “Good morning,” Victoria said.

Victoria was dressed in shorts and a T-shirt. Reese walked up behind her and snaked his arms around her waist. Her hair was up in a clip, and he kissed the back of her exposed neck and felt her shiver as she let out a giggle.

“Good morning,” Reese whispered into her ear.

“I’m trying to fix your breakfast,” Victoria said, pushing her head back against Reese’s chest.

“It’s done. Get up on the counter,” Reese said, kissing her.

“Reese! Stop that! I’ll take you up on it.” Victoria laughed as she disengaged herself.

They talked briefly before Reese left for work. As he sat staring at the papers on his desk, he shook his head to get focused. If lack of sex was good for my career, great sex is a big distraction. He was having a hard time concentrating today. His group had started on an investigation that was based on intelligence they had recovered from one of their operations from a mosque in Iraq. The CIA had finally given Reese the information he had been waiting for all day yesterday. He had to get a team together to work with the FBI. His mind kept wandering back to Victoria and how good it felt when he touched her. Good thing it was Friday and the weekend. Maybe screwing her all weekend will get this out of my system and let me focus, he reasoned. He had a meeting with the FBI right before quitting time.

Reese was sitting in his office waiting for this guy to show and looking at the clock, counting down the minutes. It was five thirty and he wanted to get home. I have better things to do then wait for a lazy civilian cop, his agitated mind screamed. The FBI finally decided to make their appearance at a quarter to six. His admin assistant announced the man and Reese met him at the front desk. The agent was about as big as Reese and looked very familiar. They introduced themselves to each other.

“Special Agent Gavin Walsh,” the FBI agent said, shaking Reese’s hand.

“Major Reese Thompson, Agent Walsh. Would you follow me and I’ll brief you?” Reese asked.

Reese and Special Agent Walsh walked into the secure briefing room and he laid out the intelligence that was cleared by the CIA for the FBI to receive. What his team had found in Iraq was a plan for terrorist front groups to obtain government contracts. This would give the hostile forces access to US military bases and other facilities. The Department of Homeland Security, Transportation, and all areas of the Department of Defense were on the list of agencies the terrorists targeted for contracts. The second part of the plan was the scary part in Reese’s mind. These terrorists were planning on entering the country through places like Mexico and South America. It would be easy to get fake papers for illegal entry into the country because it happened all the time.

The United States government and its intelligence agencies had a couple of big problems, political correctness and the age of the records that had been confiscated during operations. The agencies did not know if these fake companies were in the GSA system yet. So many companies came into the system that this would be a long search. As long as the contracts these companies were working were completed and followed the scope of work, there would be no need to investigate them. It would look like harassment and a witch hunt. The United States government was in a tight spot. Reese and his team had taken a stick to a hornets’ nest. What sorts of contractors did they look for?

It was hard in the age of political correctness to bankrupt small and disadvantaged businesses just because they were of Middle Eastern or Hispanic origin. Special Agent Walsh and Reese discussed the matter at length. The FBI and various intelligence agencies had been ordered to work together partly because the Marines and CIA were in a tight spot. According to the Constitution, the Marine Corps could not operate on United States soil, but the FBI could. Part of the intelligence that involved domestic terrorism outside military installations was handed over to the FBI.

“Well, I can look at the government purchasing system and see what companies are new within the last three to five years. I can also get down south and start taking a listen down there,” Agent Walsh said.

“Texas to California is a lot of country. ICE has not been very effective in shutting down the border and they’re outnumbered and overrun. Not to mention overruled,” Reese pointed out.

  “We’ve got to get
organized, that’s for sure. I’ve got buddies in San Diego who might be able to help me on the sly,” Walsh said, smiling.

“You look very familiar, Agent Walsh. Have we met?” Reese asked.

Reese had done a lot of work with the SEALs in San Diego and lately in Iraq. In fact, the outfit Reese was with at Camp Pendleton used to train with SEALs and Delta Force.

“Don’t know. I was down in Panama quite a bit and in Colombia during my stint. I was out of Little Creek,” Walsh said.

“Were you a SEAL?” Reese asked.

“Yes, I was, just retired a little over a year ago.”

“Did you get to Afghanistan three years ago?”

“Yeah, I was with SEAL Team 2. You?” Walsh asked.

“Force Recon, I was with the group that opened Kandahar for you guys,” Reese said.

“Good intel, better than Desert Storm. Saved some body bags,” Walsh said.

“Have you been to Iraq recently, within the last couple of years? I worked with SEAL Team 7 while I was there. Do you know Commander O’Malley?” Reese asked.

“Yeah, I went the first rotation, right before I got out. You worked with Rock, huh? You two must’ve gotten along great!” Walsh said with a smile.

“As matter of fact we did. He’s a former Marine. I worked with him and two crazy Chiefs, JJ and Mac,” Reese said, laughing.

“You got introduced to JJ? Got an education, didn’t you?” Walsh said with a wide grin.

“It was an education. Good man but crazy. I also worked with another guy. Mean as hell, I think they called him Whiskey,” Reese said.

“Yeah, Rafe Wilson, fucking ring knocker.” Walsh spat.

“Hey! I’m one of those fucking ring knockers!” Reese protested.

“You don’t act like it. He does,” Walsh said.

Reese admitted to himself, some of his brother alumni from the Academy did act like assholes just because they could. The guy they were discussing was arrogant and mean, but he was also effective and organized. Reese guessed it was a tradeoff.

They talked about their common travels and the pair decided to work a little closer than they had been ordered to from the start. He knew a lot of the men from SEAL Teams 2 and 7. Reese walked Special Agent Walsh out and they exchanged personal cell numbers. If he and his team could help shut down the bad guys, it was another good day at work. He called Victoria on his way out to let her know he was finally on his way home.

  * * * *

Victoria hung up the phone and checked on the chicken roasting in the oven. Reese would be home shortly and would be expecting something to eat. He was never demanding or ugly, but he was very routine and made his expectations clear. They had entered a gray area in their relationship. Her small paycheck had been deposited in the bank this morning. He wouldn’t stop paying her for the work she was doing at the house, and now she was sleeping with him.

  This is awkward…

Reese didn’t need to pay her for sex. He doesn’t need to pay anybody! Victoria sat down at the table and stared at her laptop. She had been fighting her thesis responses all day long. It had been difficult to concentrate because all she could think about was Reese. She needed to focus.

There was a job fair coming up next month at the school, her resume was ready. All Victoria needed was confirmation she would graduate in December and that wouldn’t happen unless she responded to all the questions that had been asked of her research. It’s time to cowgirl up and get focused. She got up and checked the rice cooking on the stove.

“Hello, sweetness,” Reese whispered in her ear.

Victoria jumped and the rice she was fluffing flew everywhere. Her heart felt like it had stopped in her chest.

“Damn you, Reese! You scared the crap out of me!” Victoria shouted.

“You didn’t hear me come in?” Reese asked, bewildered.

Victoria had been so lost in her thoughts that she hadn’t heard Reese until he spoke. It took her a moment to start breathing again. He was laughing and picking rice off his uniform.

“Are you okay?” Reese asked with a chuckle.

“It’s not funny!” Victoria snapped as she slammed the lid down on the rice.

Reese turned Victoria to face him. He was smiling as he pulled her close. She was upset with herself for her lack focus and her frustration was about to make her lose her temper with him. He kissed her forehead and lightly massaged her back. She felt herself start to turn liquid as he caressed her.

“I’m sorry. I thought you heard me,” Reese said quietly.

Victoria put her arms around Reese and buried her head into his chest. She took a deep breath and started to lose herself in his woodsy scent. She was so frustrated she wanted to cry. Her nerves seemed to be on edge all day.

What the hell is wrong with me? Victoria railed silently at herself as she willed the frustrated tears to dry. There were so many pressures converging on her at once that she didn’t know where to turn. The sudden change in her relationship with Reese was causing the most stress right now.

  “What’s wrong, baby?” Reese whispered.

  “I don’t know,” Victoria lamented.

“Did something happen today?” Reese asked, continuing his soft stroking.

“I didn’t get anything done today. I can’t seem to focus and I need to get these answers back to my advisor and the committee has to accept them. I need to get all this done in two weeks to be eligible to graduate,” Victoria said.

“You have all the time you need to get this done. There’s no hurry,” Reese said.

  “Reese—”

“Shush. There’s no hurry,” Reese repeated, cutting her off.

Victoria inhaled deeply again. Having Reese near started to calm her and allowed her to think a little clearer.

“I haven’t been able to concentrate all day, either,” Reese said as he kissed her.

“Reese, I’ve got to finish and get a job. It’s important to me,” Victoria said.

“And you will. I know you will. One bad day isn’t going to make you fail and not graduate.”

“I wasted a whole day,” Victoria mumbled into his chest.

“Victoria, quit it,” Reese said, stroking her hair.

“Reese, I can’t keep taking your money and living here. I feel like you’re paying me to sleep with you! I mean, it’s not like I have that much to do and I’m living here…” Victoria cried.

“Stop with the money! Think a minute, how are you going to get back and forth to school and pay for the things you need? I am paying you to take care of the house so I don’t have to. Besides, it’s my damn money and if I want to blow it, I can do that,” Reese said.

“Reese, I’ve got money! I can’t…I’m moving out.”

“Victoria, quit being so stubborn and let me help you, please. I want to help you get through school. It makes me feel like I’m doing something for you. It’s the least I can do after everything you’ve done for me.”

“I didn’t do anything but keep the house clean,” Victoria argued.

“No, you did a lot more than that. You’re still helping me,” Reese said.

“What did I do? Clean the bathroom?” Victoria demanded.

“You’re helping me heal,” Reese said simply.

“Reese…” Victoria said as she started to pull away.

“I’m not talking about the divorce. I saw a lot of bad stuff when I was in Iraq. If you hadn’t been here and kept me sane, I’m not sure what I would’ve done. In case you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m a really routine guy. You could set your watch by me. My routine keeps me sane. If you hadn’t been here to help make that transition easy, I would be in some serious trouble right now.” Reese held Victoria in place.

Victoria was still and quiet. Reese was so much more complicated than he revealed. Talk about stubborn. She knew the minute she walked into this house almost two years ago he needed her. What she didn’t count on was how much she needed him. Not his money, him. He was helping her heal f
rom a failed marriage. Victoria needed Reese’s strength, his common sense, and now his touch to keep her going as well.

“Listen to me. If you don’t graduate in December, you will graduate in May. It doesn’t matter. You don’t need the pressure of moving or a job. You need to focus on getting your degree. You’re so close! Stop worrying about trivial crap. When you get a job and start making real money, we’ll talk. Okay? Now what’s for dinner?” Reese asked.

Victoria blinked and stared into Reese’s hazel eyes. He thinks he’s just solved all my problems? The damn nerve! Just like a man! She started to respond but stopped herself. He was making sense. She knew he was making sense. She needed to swallow her stubborn pride and let him help her. She thought about how the last man in her life had burned her. Let go.

Victoria had to keep reminding herself Reese was not Julio. Reese was the kind of man she had been raised with, hardworking, loyal, and dedicated. Julio was a mamma’s boy who needed someone to take care of and do for him. Julio made all kinds of promises and never kept a single one. Reese never made a promise he didn’t intend to keep. Hold on to this one…

“Baked chicken with roasted vegetables and rice,” Victoria answered.

“Sounds good, I’m hungry,” Reese said as he kissed her.

Victoria brought the meal to the table. She and Reese talked as they usually did about the day, current events, and a new movie they both wanted to see. She hadn’t really thought about dessert other than to cut up some fruit and throw it in a bowl. She brought the bowl and a couple of forks to the table. Reese was staring at the bowl as she set it down and took her seat.

“I know, I really didn’t take the time for dessert today,” Victoria said.

  “Come here.”

  “What? What’s wrong?”

  “Nothing, come here,” Reese repeated.

Victoria stood in front of Reese. He traced his hands up and down the sides of her torso. On his final pass, he lifted the thin sweater she was wearing and pulled it over her head. He unfastened her jeans and pulled them down her legs. She stepped out of them just in time for Reese to pull her down to him, forcing her to straddle him.
