“Yes, ma’am. Like I said, anything you want.”

She tugged again when a smile attempted to turn his lips. “I was scared, Jase. I’m still scared, but not because you love me.” Her fingers glided through his hair, and she lowered her forehead to his chest. “I was a coward, afraid to let you into my heart. Afraid I’d get hurt when you left or cheated or—”

He flinched, his fingers digging into her neck. His heart felt like she’d kneed him in the balls. Between gritted teeth, he ground out, “Just because I’m a rocker and have enjoyed free pussy, doesn’t mean I’m incapable of turning it down. There’ll always be some bitch offering it to me, but I only want you, darlin’.”

Fallon tilted her head back, and he froze at the softness on her face. Now he was a coward, afraid to hope.

“I know.” She said softly. “I know you won’t cheat on me. You’re a straight-up guy in everything, so you’d tell me if I wasn’t doing it for you anymore. But I clutched at that excuse to protect my heart. I was wrong, Jase. I was selfish and cowardly, and terrified to hope you could love a misfit nerd like me. Afraid I wouldn’t be able to keep your interest. That’s my insecurity, and I was attributing it to you. I realized today if I didn’t take a chance on us I’d regret it all my life.”

That meant he had a slim chance of making her fall in love with him. Hope blasted through him, and his heart pounded against his ribs painfully. If she could be brave enough to give him a chance, he’d be brave enough to offer her all of himself.

  “Darlin’—”

“Let me finish.” Her tongue swished along her bottom lip. “I love you, Jase.”

  His heart double-timed its rhythm.

“I’ve known for a long time I was in love with you. But I kept hearing all the reporters calling me the flavor of the month.” She shook her head, but held his gaze.

He wanted to tell her he understood, but he knew she needed to get this off her chest, so he kept quiet, barely containing his joy. “The media is wrong, Jason Collins. Wrong about you in every way. You’re a stand-up guy, honorable, a great father, a loving brother to Sam, and genuine. You treat me like a princess, and I love it more than I should.” Tears slid down her cheeks, and he tugged her straight into his arms. “I know you’re all that because I couldn’t love someone who isn’t all that and more. I love you, Jase. I love you, I love you, I love you!”

He kissed her, reveling in his good fortune. A rocker who’d lived a life of debauchery didn’t deserve a woman as pure hearted as Fallon Morgan. He’d been lost in the beat of debauchery, living it up on pussy and alcohol, while reveling in a god-like complex. She made his life better, gave him purpose, reminded him that blessings came when they were least expected. She thought him honorable, but she was wrong. If he held any honor, he’d free her from the chains of his iniquity.

I am not an honorable man.

With his tongue buried in her mouth, he cupped her ass and deposited her on the pool table. Still kissing her, he yanked her jeans and panties off.

“Jase!” She exclaimed as he used his forearm to swipe the balls to the other end of the table. “Anyone could walk in. Helen could need us!”

“You’re living on the edge dating a rocker, embrace your wild side, darlin’.” He didn’t wait for her decision, just went down on her, relishing her gasp when he connected with her delicate flesh.

Two seconds in, she reclined on an elbow, watching him as she gripped his hair with her other hand. On a breathy moan, she pulled him closer to her wet heat. She planted her feet flat on his back along his shoulder blades.

“Wild side better be worth it, Jase,” she panted.

Gauntlet thrown down, Jase rose to the challenge to see how hard he could make her come, while becoming lost in the breathy beats of Fallon’s pleasure.
