“Fuck, I’m sorry. Nothing to worry about. I actually wanted to ask you for a favor.” I start. “I’m putting on the Twilight Gala this year, and I want to do it here.”
Max laughs. “So you want us to work overtime for the night, spank all the charity guests?” Everyone laughs. I picture the standard charity event guests in fetish gear, and I join in the laughter.
“No, I was thinking of doing something else. I don’t know that the general public is quite ready for your specific talents. But I do think they are ready to meet you. I want to ask you if you would be willing to do a bachelor auction. You stirred up some interest at the latest gala. In fact, I might have been asked to chair the Twilight Gala partly to convince you all to do this.”
I’m talking a little too fast. I really want them to say yes. It never occurred to me when I was talking to Silvie that they would say no, but now…
The silence is a mix of relief and anticipation. I know what they were thinking I was going to say, and I think I surprised them.
“Eve…” ventures Jake. I have never heard any of them sound unsure. Then I realize he is questioning being able to call me Eve. My heart lurches. I hurt them last time we were in here.
I nod. Jake beams at me.
“Eve, we will do anything for you. If this is really what you want, then sell us all to the highest bidders.” Jake smiles at me and looks around. The others nod, goofy grins from some of them, smoldering looks from others. A chorus of agreement—they all promise that they will do whatever I want.
My heart skips a beat, and I smile to myself. Since taking on Scarlet, I have felt alone much of the time. Right now, I feel whole.
“Wonderful!” I say. “I have a quick draft of some plans. Since we will be using Scarlet, I would love all of you to help me with the preliminary set up. I’m not sure the Pi Pis are ready to clear out the floggers and benches.”
They laugh. I hand around the quick sketch I did, and they all seem impressed with the layout I have organized and start talking about how they will show off for the bidders. I didn’t even think about that, but apparently they want to be bid on for more than their biceps, and they have talents outside the dungeon to back that up.
Gustav surprises me by busting out a Will Smith-style rap, and Robin sweeps me into a tango to die for. Max apparently juggles, and he says he will have to pick between knives and torches. I am in awe they are all so talented.
Brandon and Drex have taken my sketch and are scribbling a detailed plan for building the stage—I didn’t know they knew so much about construction. I ask them and apparently their theatre degrees were on technical theatre. They will set up the stage and arrange for lighting and everything.
My head is spinning. When I walked in this room, I was a little overwhelmed with the project, but know I have the support I need. This is going to be an amazing event. I am so lucky to have these guys.
My phone buzzes in my pocket. I check the number—it’s Caroline. I can’t think why she would be calling me. I move off to the side and answer, still watching them begin preparations for my event.
“Hello?” I answer.
“Evie!” Caroline chimes. I smile to myself. “I had an idea. I was talking to Marshall, and he pointed out that since the change up at Sin Inc., the city has gotten safer in some sections—but there is only so much we can do.”
I make a small affirmative noise. I don’t really know what she’s going for here. I know what Sin Inc. does, and I’m really happy that Caroline and her seven lovers are running it now, but I don’t know why she’s calling me about it.
Scarlet may be on the darker side of business, but now that those three assholes are gone, we haven’t been involved in anything shady.
“Samuel suggested maybe with a little more muscle, we could do more than protect the people who come to us. Maybe with ten more guys knocking on slum lords’ doors, my seven could be more proactive in cleaning up the city. What do you think?”
“You want me to hire out my doms as enforcers?” I ask her, keeping my voice low. I don’t want the guys to hear me. I flash back to the moment in the garden, when Gideon and Jake saved me—the look on Ash’s face when Gideon punched him; feeling safe in their arms; then after...
“Evie?” Caroline’s voice breaks the pleasant thoughts.
“Caro, I know what you’re asking, but I don’t know. They probably wouldn’t want to, anyway. I hired them to spank willing clients, not break legs.” I look around the room, at the guys throwing themselves into a silly event just because I asked them. I know they would do it if I asked.
“Evie, I saw how they looked at you. Those boys will do anything you ask. What did they say when you presented them with Silvie’s little idea?”
“How did you hear about that?” I knew Caroline had her ear to the ground, but I talked to Silvie maybe an hour ago. I don’t like that she is probably right either, I think.
“I have a scholarship girl in the Pi Pi house. She thought I would be interested to know that your strapping young men were going to be auctioned off like tantalizing slabs of man meat.” Caroline chuckles “I will be attending your event just to see the governor's wife drool over Max’s abs, by the way.”
“They are more than just abs, Caroline.” I say that a little too loud, and Robin looks over at me and raises an eyebrow. I turn bright red and leave the room as quickly as I can. I should have left ages ago, but Caroline threw me for a loop with the enforcer request. “They are extremely talented.” I continue.
“I’m sure they are, dear, but they can’t exactly show those talents off at a charity event.” I blush even more.
“That isn’t what I mean. They don’t just have huge cocks and talents in bed, but also huge brains and outside-the-bedroom skills. Gustav raps.” I know I sound a little silly, but I feel proud that not only are they all so talented, but that they are willing to share those talents with me.
“Evie, as much as I want to hear about how wonderful they are, I want you to think about how they could be helpful. I think that, together, we can do great things for the city. Think about it, will you? And if you ever need anything, any advice on…well, guys, you know you can call me, right?”
Caroling sounds just like a big sister. I’m glad I have found someone who seems to understand the crazy world I’ve found myself in.
“Thank you, Caro. I know you’re here for me. I appreciate it.” I sigh. “I’ll think about what you asked.”
“Great! See you at the Twilight Gala. I’ll bring my own bachelors.” She laughs and hangs up.
Chapter 26
Eve
Days have passed and I haven't heard anything. Not a damn word from the police. You would think that they could at least update me, but no. I thought ‘A right to remain silent’ only applied to their perps...
I'm scared and I know that these men are tired of being my shadows.
Brandon suggested that I call the station. Thankfully, my mind has been busy with the upcoming event, but I am tired of constantly looking over my shoulder. Worrying about something that could happen to me is making me anxious.
I retreat into my office and sit there for a few moments to think about what I'm going to say to the police. How am I going to handle the news anyway? I hope they tell me that all three are in jail, but if that were true, they would have already called me.
I grab the phone, knowing I have to do this for my peace of mind. I dial the station’s number and ask for the detective in charge of my case.
Five minutes later, I learn that the police don’t have anything. Not a sign clue. They went to the three men’s apartment, but it was empty. I sigh as I hang up the phone, wishing with all my might that there would be a tiny bit of news. Those three men have become ghosts and are haunting my every waking moment, tormenting and agonizing me.
It's not fair of me to ask the other ten to give up their lives to protect me, but this is what they wanted.
I need to re
focus all this energy on the charity event. If I can drown myself in work, I can block out this horrifying ordeal, and the feeling of dread will diminish. Or so I hope.
As the hours tick by, I spend my morning making phone calls to the event site, the caterers, some benefactors, and to my mom.
It's been a few days since I last talked to my parents, and I want to get an update on how they’re feeling. They've both been ill.
Mom assures me that she and Dad are fine. Nothing to worry about. But when she asks me the same question, I lie. I hate lying to my parents, but I don't want to bring them any more stress. I know they would insist on coming back, and that won't be happening. Scarlet is my responsibility now.
My phone alerts me to a new text. When I check it, I can't help smiling. Three of the women from the charity want to meet me for lunch at a coffee shop. Not only do I love that place, but I'm excited about this event.
The children will be so excited when they find out about all the new supplies and funding they will receive. I've always had money, so to go without is not something I want anyone to experience if I can help it.
I have Robin drive me home for a quick change of clothing. The red dress I am wearing isn't suitable for this kind of lunch.
As I am changing, I realize that maybe I should keep a change of clothes at the office. Something appropriate for any occasion.
I settle on a simple black skirt a few inches above the knee, a lilac silk blouse, and a fitted black jacket. It screams ‘I am a professional,’ something the red didn't do for me, though it did look amazing the way it gripped my ass. I only know that because Robin assured me of it on the way home.
I am the first to arrive at the diner. I request a table in the back and away from the college lunch crowd. I've told Robin to head back to work, and that I would text him when I finished.
He wanted to wait, but I refused. The one thing I like about this place is that it has a lot of windows. If any undesirables were to show up, I would see them before they got inside.
Peyton, Holly, and Anne Marie all arrive together. We are on a first name basis now; these women are trophy wives. They never have to work, and their idea of a rough day is getting a chipped nail after having just gotten a manicure.
I used to be like that. Well, minus the husband.
We place our orders and then make small talk. I can tell they have something to say to me. You know that feeling you get when joining people that tells you they just had a conversation about you? Yeah, that’s what’s going on here.
Holly is the first to break the ice. "Oh my god! I must know about Brandon. Is he—well, you know, as well hung as I think? I mean, that outline in his jean is enormous!"
Thankfully, I swallowed the coffee before she asked that. I would have choked on my drink.
Before I can say anything, Peyton jumps in.
"Have you seen his twin brother, Drex? Now that's a double team right there. I wouldn't mind being the center of the family sandwich."
Oh my god, are they doing this? Talking about these men as though they’re nothing but meat? How dare they assume that these men will be there to fuck them!
When Anne Marie starts asking about what they will be getting if they bid, I almost lose all sense and yell at them right there. I can't help it, though. I know they mean well, and men have done this for years, but I feel emotionally connected to these ten.
"Well, ladies, yes they are well-built, but guess what? They have minds that are just as strong as their bodies. All are college graduates, and some even have a Master’s degree. I have gotten to know them all well, and you would be shocked at how intelligent they are."
I can't help defending the men. I know they don't need me to do that, but I can't let anyone treat them as though they were just fuck toys.
"Oh, we didn't mean anything by it, just—well—they are so well-endowed," Holly says.
That flimsy reason doesn’t excuse what they said about the men. I have already made up my mind. I don't like any of these women.
"Yeah, well-endowed—unlike your husband, Holly!" Anne Marie says, holding nothing back.
The rest of us laugh at her words.
In the next hour, we decide on our roles and how much to start off the bids, as well as the kind of display the men will be putting on for the crowd. I still don't like the women, but then again, who wouldn’t talk the way they did about someone they adore?
Chapter 27
Eve
I take one last look in the mirror. This dress is extraordinary. Grecian in style, it fits who and what I am.
I am the keeper of the gods. Eve, the one who took on an army of ten and made them a legend.
Okay, that’s a little corny, but to be honest, it’s the truth.
I smooth the dress down with my hands. The ivory dress fits perfectly. After hours at the tailor, it better.
Tonight is a first for me. I not only helped plan this thing, but I also get to watch the men I care about spend the evening with other women.
It is, of course, for a good charity—and there’s no sex involved.
Since the first time they all had sex with me, I haven’t thought of another man. I can’t. It might not be written in stone, but I was theirs.
The event is packed. People dressed to the nines. There’s more money spent on clothing here than most make in a lifetime. I spent 15 grand on my dress, and I’m sure that’s the average cost these people shelled out once I look through the crowd.
I make small talk, but my eyes are going in every direction. I want to make sure everything goes off without a hitch, but more than that, I want to keep an eye on who wins the bidding.
It worries me that my men would be taken advantage of. I know they can take care of themselves, but I’m still concerned about their welfare.
I take a drink from the tray that’s making its way through the crowd. A glass of champagne is what I need to calm my nerves. I want this to be a success.
I’m like my mother that way. She always was one to take care of others. I want to make sure the Travers name is held in the highest honor.
The lights in the room dim, and the men are brought on the stage. Catcalls and whistles fill the room. I wonder if they feel as horrible as us women do when men do it.
I feel bad for them right now. It’s disrespectful for grown women to act like screeching cats in heat.
I take a seat in the VIP area with a perfect view of the event. First one up is Brandon. The bidding is going crazy for him. He and his twin Drex are dressed in black tuxedos, with an accent of the tiniest bit of red.
With their perfect bodies and rugged looks, I’m hot all over just looking at them. It’s hard not to raise my little bidding card and take them home with me.
Of course, I won’t do that. Tonight is about giving these ladies a little pleasure. A peek into my world—or the world of those that pay for punishment. I imagine the money this could generate for the club if they decide that they need to see these men again.
I do hope that they don’t expect sex. That will not be happening tonight, or ever.
As they move from one man to the next, reality hits me. What if they think they’re buying a ride on a hard cock? Even with the tuxedos on, you can’t miss those cock outlines. I know for a fact they are all over 12-inches, and that’s impossible to hide in any form of clothing.
The pang of jealousy hits for a brief second. I know I have no right to be this way, but I am. These men are mine!
Gustav is up next. He struts that stage like he was made to be a model. He kind of is, really. I’m in awe at how he can work a crowd without even touching them. It must be that Italian in him. The man is a slick as a wet road, and twice and fast. I know, I’ve had him use that magnetic personality on me.
He brings in a substantial amount of money for the charity. I am amazed at the amount of money spent. These women have bank accounts to match their egos. I’m sure when the night is over my men will have broken the millio
n marks.
Can you imagine spending 150 grand to sit across the table from a handsome man? I can. I’ve seen it right here tonight.
These guys deserve something special. I want to make sure they know I appreciate what they’ve done here for the kids, for the charity. I get lost in thought for a moment, thinking of what I can give them.
“Have you stayed at the hotel across the street?
“No, but I hear that it’s five stars. I know, right. Can you imagine, five stars and I haven’t stayed there yet?”
I am listening to the women at my table speaking when it comes to me.
I’ll book a suite and give them a night they won’t forget.
I spend the next 30 minutes arranging it all—a hotel suite with a hot tub, a king-sized bed, and a view of the city. I know they’ll be thrilled when they find out.
Next thing I do is have each of them sent a message to meet me in an hour at the hotel room. That will give me plenty of time to arrive and get everything ready.
I have the champagne chilled, plus fresh berries and chocolate, and the drapes open for them to experience the view. I’m excited about tonight. It’s the least I can do for these men.
Now to do my part. I am going to be naked on the bed when they show up. 120 inches of prime fuck meat at my disposal. I am giddy with excitement.
So much so that the elevator attendant asks me if I’m drunk. Of course, I laugh.
“Drunk on lust. Pure lust!”
Chapter 28
Max
“Really? Fuck this stupid shit. Why the hell do we have to walk around and shake our asses for some old woman?”
Talking to Theo, I know he probably feels the same as I do. We’ve been in the business long enough not to be auctioned off at some charity event, but what can I do? It’s part of the job when you work at Scarlet.
If it were anyone but Eve, I would say no immediately. This is pretty ridiculous, even for charity. But at the end of the day I would do fucking anything for Eve. Any of us would.
