It was a beautiful day in Paris. The buzz of new love around her like a halo as Stuart pulled the sleek car up to the curb at the first show in Paris. Fashion Week was in full swing. Sitting beside David in the plush back seat, Genise caught sight of a famous female model entering the venue just as Stuart rounded the car to open the door for them.
David emerged first catching the brunt of the bright flashes before attention was turned to Genise.
In a chic, sky blue Chanel dress, wearing matching blue Manolo pumps and Kate Spade clutch, she held on to David’s hand allowing him to guide her through the throng of people. A reporter shoved a microphone in David’s face, seconds before the finely coiffed woman stepped to stand in front of them blocking their path.
“Who is your girlfriend, David?” She raised an arched brow. “Is it serious?”
David pulled Genise against him. “My fiancée’s name is Genise Snow and, yes, we both are taking our relationship very seriously.”
Reporters began screaming for their attention. Every camera suddenly pointed at her left hand.
The smart, two-carat, princess cut diamond was not the most expensive ring David had presented her with. She’d requested he not buy her anything too over the top. The fact he was rich was still something that made her uncomfortable.
She glanced down at her ring. It was beautiful. Perfect.
Upon arriving the night before, a subdued Margo had congratulated them before promptly ignoring Genise and going directly into a business discussion with David.
The woman’s lack of attention toward her suited Genise just fine.

Her cell silenced from all the texts from family and friends, Genise sat on the sideline of the catwalk waiting for him to walk. Once again, a hush came over the crowd when he appeared on the stage.
Genise leaned forward, anticipating him, knowing no matter what he wore, he would ensure the designer’s success.
His stroll was smooth, cutting down the catwalk with surreal grace. Each footfall followed by every spectator. Each inch of the man scrutinized by the people who watched him enthralled by his beauty. He was absolutely perfect.
Butterflies tumbled in her belly when he met her gaze. The corners of his lips lifted just enough. Gasps and “oohs” sounded around her and she sighed at the wonder of him.
It would never get old, she decided. This world of his, being near him and seeing how he commanded a room with his presence alone was wonderful.
It would be their secret that he was not the alpha male everyone assumed but, instead, a regular guy, too shy to ask her out, having to come up with a grand plan to get to know her.
He was a beta wolf. That would not change. But with her in their own private world, he was every bit the alpha male.
A tingle went through her at knowing that once they returned to the hotel room, within moments, he’d be all hers again.
Who would have guessed?
Sometimes fantasies did come true.
The End.
