The next morning he said goodbye to Maine and took to the sky once more, ready for whatever came next. He was already bored. The sun was up and the sky was clear and he had nowhere he needed to be anytime soon.
Then he remembered a story he’d seen in the New York Times, hardly more than a few paragraphs tucked inside the pages, a piece about trouble somewhere in South America. It had sounded violent and dangerous. It was exactly what he needed and precisely what he always looked for. Nothing could have sounded any better. He could already feel his adrenaline beginning to rise.
