“Don’t. You know I’m ticklish in that area.”

“You have a funny little giggle. I like to hear it.” Garrick blew air on her neck, and she moved away from him. Then he nipped at her earlobe and kissed the spot where her neck and shoulder connected.

Cora slipped her legs from under his and wrapped hers around his hips. His large, hard cock rubbed along her pussy lips.

“Who’s in a hurry?” he asked.

  “I am.”

“Never rush a good thing, sweetheart.” Garrick pulled her legs off of him and slid down to lay between them. He took a deep breath at her mound. “You smell like desire and lust.” Separating her folds, he licked her clit and her hips rose off the bed.

He put his arms over her thighs and held the folds open to her pussy. His tongue brushed across her clit and then he licked her juices to her opening.

Cora grabbed his hair and pulled. “Stop. I want you inside me.”

“No.” His lips and teeth teased her as he tasted and licked all her juices and his teeth grazed across her pearl.

Heat, like hot lava, flowed in her veins. Her pussy ached to hold his dick tight. But then Garrick noticed her breasts standing out straight with beaded nipples. He leaned forward and sucked on one and then the other. A bolt of desire flashed up her spine. Her body trembled as every cell responded to his attention.

When he smiled at her, she was amazed at how much she loved him and how his smile could melt her into a puddle of need.

  “Take me, please.”

Garrick kissed her soft abdomen. “Since you asked so nicely, I will.” He positioned his satin-smooth, hard cock at her pussy opening. Then he thrust in as deeply as he could go. Her pussy walls stretched to accommodate his girth.

He lay still a moment looking into her eyes. “I love you,” he said softly.

“And I love you.” She reached up and touched the side of him face.

His hips began to move slowly. He pulled his cock almost out, and then plunged back in. Joy and delight built in her core until it erupted in a wave of intense pleasure.

She heard his cry of release and his cock vibrated against her pussy walls. Cora raised her hips and held on tight until his orgasm was finished.

Garrick rolled on his back and held her clasped in his arms. “Sweet darlin’, you are one wonderful lady.”

Cora listened to the beat of his heart under her ear until she was almost asleep.

“We’re giving Kohana one more month. If he isn’t back, I’m marrying you. I don’t want to wait any longer,” Garrick said.

She raised her head and kissed his lips. “Agreed, one month.”

  Chapter Sixteen

Kohana spent the night in Minneapolis and contacted Gray Callahan at his office the next morning. “Hi, Gray. Are you flying home anytime soon?”

“Holt and I are both heading there around five today. Do you need a ride?”

  “I’d appreciate it. I don’t mind paying.”

“Nonsense, we’re making the trip whether you’re along or not. Our oldest son has a birthday tomorrow.”

“Then I really appreciate the offer. Do you know of a good jeweler?”

“There are two I like to use.” Gray gave him the names and addresses. “Have fun. See you at the airport at four thirty.” Kohana clicked off and punched in Garrick’s number.

“Hi, Kohana. I wondered when I’d hear from you.”

  “Is Cora around?”

“No, she left for work an hour ago.”

“Then she’s staying at your house?”

  “Yes.”

“Look, I was a fool. But I have my head on straight now. All I’ve been able to think about since I left was us and her getting married.”

  “Wow, that didn’t take long.”

“Jarvis said he’d noticed I’d been distracted before I got kidnapped. Maybe he’s right. I should have heard those guys. Anyway, I think unconsciously I’d been pondering whether I wanted to keep up that lifestyle forever. Cora had been on my mind more frequently.”

“So you’re going to fly back?”

“I’m in Minneapolis, and I’m catching a flight with Gray and Holt late this afternoon. The reason I called is I want to buy a wedding ring set for Cora. Are you agreeable? Or would you prefer I wait until we can get one for her together?”

“It’s a great idea. You have good taste. Go ahead and purchase it. Buy a real nice set, and of course I’ll pay half. She agreed to marry me in a month whether you were back or not.”

“Do you think she still wants the three of us to be married?” Kohana’s heart dropped. Had he finally put her through too much to be forgiven? If so, it was his fault.

“Oh yes, she loves us both.”

  “Thank goodness. You don’t mind?”

“We talked about a threesome relationship. I think it’ll be great.”

“Then I’ll get the ring and be home tonight.”

“When she comes home, I’ll suggest we go out for dinner. You can dress in the bunkhouse and meet us there. It’ll be a great surprise.”

“Call and let me know what time and where to meet you.”

  “Will do.” Garrick hung up.

Kohana left the hotel and went directly to the first jewelry shop Gray had mentioned. When he didn’t find what he wanted, he headed out and walked down the street and around the corner to the next one.

This time the jeweler was more responsive to showing Kohana his best rings. The other jeweler had looked Kohana up and down, in his jeans, cowboy shirt, and boots and had said what was out was all he had.

“Here are a few unusual pieces.” The jeweler had gone in the back. He carried two small trays. The one Kohana liked best had a large, oval center diamond on the engagement ring with smaller diamonds around it and with baguettes to the side. It glowed in the light. The wedding band had three round diamonds in the center with three smaller on each side. It was perfect for the three of them.

  “I’ll take it.”

“Do you know her ring size? We can size it for you.”

“No, I don’t, but wait. I’ll call and see if I can find out.” Kohana hoped Cora’s parents had the same phone number. He’d called Cora so many times the number was stuck in his memory. The phone rang several times before Mrs. Takoda answered.

  “Hello.”

“Mrs. Takoda, this is Kohana Shanley.”

There was silence on the line. Then she said, “You dare call me after leaving my daughter twice,” she said, the anger in her voice evident. “She’s met a nice man, Garrick. Leave her alone. I want her married and happy.”

“So do I. How do you feel about having two son-in-laws?”

For several seconds, there was no answer. Finally, she said, “You both want to marry her?”

“Yes, we’re best friends, and we both love her.”

“I thought you’d left for good.”

“No, I was stupid, but I got my sense back as soon as I left town this time.”

“Hmm, first no son-in-law and now two. The idea will take some getting used to for me. I’m not sure what her father will think. But I’ll talk with him.”

“Thanks. I’m buying rings for her and I need to know her ring size.”

  “Five and a half.”

Kohana chuckled. “You had that information handy.”

“I’ve been waiting for years for a man to ask me her ring finger size.” Then she added in a sterner voice. “You two better be good to my daughter or her father will be coming for a visit.”

“Don’t worry. We’ll both cherish her.”

“Like I said, you’d better.” She hung up on her warning.

He’d stepped outside the jewelry shop. When he entered the jeweler smiled and asked, “Did you get the size?”

“Five and a half. Can you have the rings ready by three this afternoon? I have to be at the airport by four thirty.”

“No problem. I’ll have my employee stop his work and do it now.”

Fine.” Kohana pulled out his credit card. “How much do I owe you?”

  * * * *

“We’re going out to dinner?” Cora asked. “I bought groceries and thought I’d cook chicken tonight.”

“No cooking. I want a big, juicy steak. We’ll ride to Willow Junction and make it special. They have a great steakhouse on the edge of town.”

“All right. Let me put the groceries away and get dressed.” She rose up on her toes and kissed his cheek. “I like surprises.”

Garrick waited until she walked into the kitchen. He stepped outside the front door and called Kohana. “We’ll be at Jefferson’s Steak House in Willow Junction. Do you know where it is? Good. I plan on leaving here around seven. Will that fit with your plans?”

“Yes, I’m at the airport, and we’ll be leaving in about fifteen minutes. I’m dressed and ready to go, but I’ll have to borrow a truck or car.”

“I’ll leave the key to the house under the backdoor mat. You’ll find the truck keys on the kitchen table. I’ll insist we take her car.”

“Sounds like a plan. I have the rings, so we’re all set.”

“Did you ever think we’d really be doing this?” Garrick asked.

“No, but I’m glad we are.”

“Me, too. See you at Jefferson’s.”

On the way to Willow Junction, Garrick’s heart pounded loud enough he expected any moment for Cora to ask him about it. He had no doubt he loved her and wanted to marry her, yet his hands were sweating and his throat was dry. This was a big step. One he’d often wondered if he’d ever take.

“Garrick, you’re very quiet.” Cora’s voice broke into his thoughts.

“Sorry, sweetheart. Silly, but for some reason I’ve been thinking about my family more. I need to call my mom and tell her I’ve met the most wonderful woman in the world.” He flashed a smile her way.

“You should keep in touch with your parents, but I don’t believe you were thinking of them. You’ve been acting weird since I got home from work.”

“Is asking you out to a nice dinner strange?”

“It can be. But I’ll let you alone. You’ll give in and tell me eventually.”

  “You know me well.”

“One of the things I’ve liked about you from the first was your quality of being straightforward. I don’t have to guess where I’m at with you. Tonight, you aren’t being as open with me.”

“I promise by the end of the evening you’ll know all my concerns.”

“Concerns? So you are worrying about something.”

Garrick almost groaned out loud. He’d be so glad when Kohana showed up at the restaurant. He turned on a side street and half a block down he parked in the crowded parking area across the street from Jefferson’s. The restaurant had been built close to the street and the creek ran behind it.

When he gave his name, the maître d led them to a table for four by a large window overlooking the trees and the creek. Birds flew between the trees.

“The setting is idyllic, so peaceful and lovely,” Cora said.

Their waiter brought menus and Garrick ordered a glass of rose zinfandel for her and bourbon for him. He needed it. Five more minutes and Kohana was due to arrive.

“We’ll study the menu for a few minutes,” he told the waiter.

“Have you been here before?” Cora asked.

“A few times. They have good steaks, but if you prefer seafood it’s good also. I’ve had their trout and lobster when they’ve had it flown in. They only do that a few times a year.”

The waiter had set their drinks in front of them when a voice behind him said, “I’ll take a glass of bourbon.”

Garrick got up and shook Kohana’s hand.

  * * * *

Cora jumped at the sound of his voice, and her body stiffened. She stared at him speechless. The tenderness in his silver-gray eyes made her heart catch.

He knelt at her chair. “Don’t tell me I finally did something to turn you speechless.” His large, warm hand cupped the side of her face. “When you all left me at the hotel I already suspected I’d made a grave error. Then I went to Atlanta and agreed to go on one more mission.” He ran his hands through her silky black hair hanging around her shoulders and down her back. “But I had a bad feeling about me going. What if I was killed? I’d never have had you as my wife, never seen the children we might have, never got to share the joy and happiness of the three of us together. I decided it wasn’t worth the risk.

“I love you, Cora Takoda. I always have and look.” He pulled out his necklace with Cora’s name on it. “I got it back.”

Tears of joy ran down her face. Garrick surprised her by getting down on his knees by her, too. She glanced around and whispered, “People are staring at us. Get up and sit in your chairs.”

“We will after we ask a very important question,” Garrick said.

Kohana pulled a ring box out of his pocket. “Cora, will you marry Garrick and me?”

Garrick added, “I love you, too. We’ll cherish you the rest of our lives and any family we have.”

Cora’s hands had gone over her mouth. Now she threw her arms around them both and said, “Yes, yes, yes.”

The other patrons in the restaurant clapped and cheered. Cora’s face flushed with embarrassment and pleasure. Garrick slid the engagement ring on her left hand.

“We’ll keep the wedding ring until the big day,” Kohana said. “But after all these years I want it to be soon.”

“It’s a beautiful set. I especially love the engagement ring,” Cora said holding her hand up to admire it.

Garrick and Kohana took a seat, and Garrick turned to his buddy. “We were giving you a month. How does three weeks from this Saturday sound?”

“Great to me, and I have just the place for our honeymoon,” Kohana said and told them about his cabin in the Georgia mountains.

“It’ll be perfect,” Garrick said. “We’ll finally have our girl all to ourselves.”

The waiter walked cautiously in their direction. “I hate to interrupt, but would you like to order now?” he asked.

“Yes, I’m starved,” Kohana said. He looked over the menu and ordered a big steak and Garrick did the same.

Garrick pointed to a special on the menu. “Cora, they have the lobster and filet mignon. Why don’t you try it? I’d bet it’ll be delicious.”

“I’m so excited I don’t know if I can eat that much.”

“Eat the lobster first. We can always bring home any steak you can’t eat.”

  “You’ve talked me into it.”

The waiter started to walk away and Kohana stopped him. “I think we need a bottle of champagne to celebrate.”

“Yes, sir. I’ll be right back with it.”

Cora held out her hand and watched the light sparkle off the diamonds. “I can’t believe it, and the ring fits perfectly. We have to go by my parents and tell them. Mom may faint in shock.”

“I think she’s over the shock,” Kohana said.

  “What do you mean?”

“I had to find out your ring size so I called her.”

“Oh, gosh. Did you tell about all three of us?”

“I did. She took it better than I expected, but I don’t know about your father. He may have his gun out when we get there.” To change the topic, he pulled out the ring box again. “Did you notice the wedding ring has three larger stones? I wanted it to represent all three of us.”

“I do, too. But if my folks are upset and unhappy about this, I’m going to be unhappy, too, that you told them before I could.”

“I know.” Kohana grinned. “I’ll make it up to you.”

Cora drank more champagne than usual. Two glasses were her limit, but by the time they were halfway through the bottle she was giggly. Garrick and Kohana had one glass and after eating they were sober. All their food had been delicious. The men paid and Cora got a box for half of her steak.

Garrick helped her into the car and went around to the driver
s seat. Kohana waved and walked to where he’d parked Garrick’s truck.

On the drive home, Cora laid her head back and closed her eyes. Then she said to Garrick. “This was the surprise and why you were so nervous. Was the nervousness because you didn’t know if Kohana would show or about the engagement?” She opened her eyes and looked at his profile.

“I knew he’d show. We discussed getting the rings and what time he’d be here. I’ve never asked anyone else to marry me. I love you without a doubt, but it’s still a big step and a man fears rejection.”

“I’d told you we’d marry in a month.”

“True, but we were talking not making a commitment like a formal proposal. What if you’d changed your mind and didn’t want a threesome?”

“You assume in that case I’d choose Kohana?”

  “Sure.”

“I love you both the same. There’s no way I can or would choose between you. You both give me something different, and the three of us make a whole.”

“That’s good to know.” His hand rubbed her thigh under the edge of her dress. “I can’t wait to get you home.” His hand went higher up and his finger rubbed across the silk panties covering her lower lips.

A fission of pleasure spread throughout her body. Desire made her pussy wet with her juices.

“Stop it, or we might have an accident,” she warned, “and I don’t want to look frazzled when my parents see me.”

“Tomorrow, we’ll visit them. Tonight is for you, Kohana, and me.” Garrick came to a side road and turned. Then he drove a short distance and turned off the lights.

“What are you doing?” Cora voice rose.

“I’ve always wanted to make love in a Corvette. It may be a challenge, but I’m going to try.” He reached under her dress and removed her panties, and then he got out of the car and walked around to her side. He pulled her out, sat in her seat, and had her straddle his lap.

The large bulge of his cock pushed against his slacks and her lower lips. Garrick kissed her thoroughly while she rubbed herself against his rock-hard dick.
