“You, bitch. Ever since I met you, my life has been a rollercoaster ride. Somehow they found out it was your tip that helped me arrest Geek. Then, they found out that you’re fucking Geek and I’m fucking you!” He said.
“I’m not fucking Geek.”
“Shut the fuck up bitch, I just saw him leave my fucking house! What do you take me for some idiot?” He asked, looking at me sideways.
WHAP!
He slapped me.
“Answer me when I’m fucking talking to you!” He seethed.
Before he could lift his hand and hit me again, I was running towards the room. I quickly rummaged through my things and found my gun. When he finally stumbled up the stairs, he tried to lung at me, causing me to fire my first shot.
The bullet only grazed his arms, infuriating him more. He clenched his jaw and went for his gun. It was either me or him, so this time when I fired my shot, I made sure to hit his ass.
“Uhhh,” he groaned, falling to the ground.
I stood over him with my gun trained directly between his eyes. I didn’t want to shoot him, but then a brilliant idea flashed through my mind, so I fired three shots ending his life. I quickly went to the bathroom and grabbed the special cleaning solution Brad used to clean prints from a gun. I pulled latex gloves over my hands and wiped the gun clean, then placed it in my purse.
With all my strength, I pulled Brad’s body and dragged him outside in our backyard. Since he was too heavy to carry, I was forced to dismantle him. I grabbed the machete from the shed and chopped him in half. I then grabbed my oversized Chanel suitcase and stuffed his body in it. It was a difficult task, but I rolled the suitcase to my car and stuffed it in my truck.
Once the murder weapons and Brad were in my car, I went back in the house to clean up. The perks about dating a cop, was that you learned all the tricks to getting rid of evidence. Grabbing the cleaning solution, I retraced my steps and cleaned the whole house. I was exhausted when I finished the task, but I had more work to do.
After taking another shower and burning my bloody clothes, I placed a fresh set of gloves on my hands then got in my car. I drove until I reached Karrueche’s block and then waited until it was clear. I pulled the suitcase out of my car and rolled it in some bushes that were located a few feet from her house. I then went to her car and used a flat head screwdriver to play with the doors until they unlocked. I popped her trunk then placed the murder weapons in there, right next to her gym bag and college books.
Satisfied with my handywork, I grabbed my burner and called the police. I reported how I saw a woman rolling a suitcase to her bushes and how suspicious she looked. I made sure to tell them that I saw her place some items in her trunk, before rushing into the house. The operator said that they would pass my tip on to the proper authorities.
Giving myself a pat on the back, I left and headed home. In a matter of moments Karrueche’s life was about to change for the worse. When I thought of how she had my parents murdered, it pissed me off, and only confirmed that I did the right thing to avenge their deaths. She was finally going to get what she deserved and I was glad to be the one giving it to her. Karma is a bitch, my bitch.
Chapter Twenty Three
Karrueche
The day Smoke kissed me and left still had me in a daze. When our lips connected, it was like nothing I felt before. Dale had the ability to kiss me until I was weak, but Smoke took my breath away. I waited that night for Smoke to come back or even call, but he didn’t. When I gathered the courage to finally call him, Tangi answered, telling me he was in a sex induced coma. Isn’t that some shit? He was just at my house, kissing me as if he loved me, only to go home to his girlfriend. I was sick and tired of playing a nigga’s side chick, so I was going to put all my focus into my relationship with Dale.
When he came over and surprised me with cruise tickets to Bermuda, I jumped to it. With a smile on my face, I packed my things and went to Dale’s house until it was time to board our Cruise. Dale was showing me how it felt to be treated like a queen. He catered to my every need, making sure I stayed on top of my game. For every school exam I would pass, that would be another diamond he would give me. I was starting feel the same way I felt when my father was alive.
As Dale and I laid on the beach sipping Pina Colada’s, a feeling that something bad happened came over me. We were on a no electronics vacations, so I made a mental note to call home to check in with everyone once we made it back to the boat.
“Dale stop!” I giggled, as he lifted me and carried me to the water.
“You are going swimming today. What’s the purpose of being on this beautiful beach if you’re not going to get in the water? ” He said.
“To look cute,” I replied.
“Nah, you can look cute in the water,” He chuckled.
He carried me, with my legs wrapped around him, to the water. The further he walked in the water, the more I started kissing on his neck. I sucked on his chest, leaving a bright red hickey there.
“Stop trying to start something you can’t finish,” he said.
“Who said I couldn’t finish?” I smirked.
“Iight now, play with fire if you want to.” He palmed my ass.
He was standing in the middle of the water, with me wrapped around him as we looked in eachother’s eyes. These few months of us being together were beyond amazing. He made me feel things that I haven’t felt in a long time. He placed his lips to mine, kissing me under the golden sky. Night was starting to set in as we stood in the water making out. The setting was romantic, like the ones in a chick flick.
“I love you,” he said, shocking me.
My heart began racing as I searched through his eyes for a hint of deception. When I didn’t see anything but love, tears began to fill my eyes. I didn’t quite know what to say. I deeply cared for him and in the near future I could see it becoming love, but I didn’t want to lie.
“You don’t have to say it if you don’t feel the same way. It was just on my chest and I felt the need to get it off,” he said, kissing my lips.
I breathed out a sigh of relief and accepted his tongue in my mouth. We made out in the water until I felt his dick poking the crotch of my bikini bottoms. Walking to the shore, he laid me down and began feasting on my goodies out in the open. I wanted to object, but he started to suck on my clit so I said fuck it. That night on the beach we made some of the sweetest love I’ve ever experienced. When he carried me back to the boat, my body was limp and worn out.

The next morning, I woke up so sore. It felt so good to be under Dale, but I had to get up and call home. Slipping my body from Dale’s, I went to the bathroom to quickly wash up. I grabbed the phone that was on the wall and made the call home, but when Shantika didn’t answer, I called Mrs. Michael.
“Hello, Mrs. Michael. It’s me, Karrueche,” I said, once she answered.
“Oh, Karrueche baby, I’ve been trying to get in contact with you, something terrible has happened,” she said, causing my heart to sink.
“What is it?” I panicked. “What happened?”
“You have to come home as soon as possible sweetie,” she said, in a sad tone.
“Tell me what happened!” I yelled.
“It’s Shantika, please come home,” she said, causing my world to come crashing down.
I fell to the floor with a loud thud, dropping the phone. I couldn’t breathe so I tried to focus on the wall. I started having bad panic attacks after the death of Kareem, so the doctor would tell me to find a wall or steady object to focus on, while I tried to regulate my breathing.
“Baby, are you ok?” Dale asked, rushing to my side.
“I….I…I have to get back home,” I replied. “I have to go home now,” I cried.
“Shhhhh, ok, tell me what happened.”
“It’s Shantika, something is terribly wrong and Mrs. Michael won’t tell me over the phone. I can’t lose anyone else, Dale, my heart can’t take it,” I sobbed.
r /> “Don’t think like that, I’m sure things are fine. I’m going to book us a flight home, try to relax,” he said, lifting me and laying me on the bed. He was about to walk away, but I grabbed ahold of his hand.
“Please stay with me, I don’t want to be alone,” I whispered.
“Okay,” he replied, giving me a sympathetic look.
He climbed in the bed, wrapping his arms around me then pulled out his phone to book our flights. He reached in the nightstand to grab his wallet to pay for everything. The whole time I just laid there numb to the world. I knew something was wrong, I could feel it in my heart. I allowed silent tears to stream down my face as I begged God to spare the life of the only friend I had.
When it came time to board our flight, the only thing that I kept thinking about was Shantika, and all the wonderful times we shared. She was my strength and the only person that wasn’t afraid to tell me to get my shit together. I looked up to her and admired her beauty, as well as strength. I low-key wanted to be like her, strong and confident.
I spoke with Mrs. Michael again, but she still kept Shantika’s condition away from me. All she kept saying was to get home and quickly. The fact that she didn’t share more information with me had me fearing the worse. When our flight landed, I was afraid to go home to learn that I lost a friend, but I kept thinking positive thoughts.
As we stood waiting for our bags, I spotted two cops in the corner of my eyes. I paid them no mind as Dale walked to the carousel and claimed our things. Just as we were about to walk to Dale’s car, I felt myself being yanked backwards.
“Karrueche, you are under arrest for the murder of Officer Brad,” the cop said, reading me my rights.
“Wait… No you have the wrong person,” I yelled, feeling the cold steel of the handcuffs against my skin.
“Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law” the officer said, ignoring my pleas of innocence.
“Take it easy on her, she’s a fucking female!” Dale yelled, getting hyped.
“Sir, we’re going to have to ask you to move back or we will be forced to arrest you,” the second officer said.
“I don’t give a fuck, take it easy on her! There is no need for you to use so much force when she’s a female and is not resisting. You know what? Fuck that, what’s you badge number?” Dale said, typing the information on his phone.
The officer looked like he wanted to fuck Dale up, but the amount of cameras being held in his face, recording the scene caused him to reconsider. They simply walked me to the cruiser where I was placed in the back. This was my first time getting arrested and it was for something I did not to do again. With my head leaning against the back of the seat, I cried my little heart out. My hands were hurting and I was sure they were sprained.
“So you want to kill cops, huh?” The officer smirked. “Well, we got something for you.”
When we got to the police station we pulled into a black alley. The officers got out the car pulling me out behind them. I felt my hair being snatched, causing my head to snap backwards. A hard steel toe boot came crashing down on my leg causing me to squeal out in pain. The second officer delivered two blows to my head that caused blood to rush from my busted lips.
“Please stop,” I begged.
Ignoring me, they continued to beat, and smack me around, until another officer yelled out that was enough. Once I was processed, they threw me in a dark cell that only held a toilet. The cell smelled as if twenty thousand rats died inside of it and were now rotting. I tried to scoot myself to the corner of the cell, but the throbbing sensation in my legs wouldn’t allow me to. My head ached something terrible as I laid it against the cold, wet floor.
It felt like I was being held captive in that smelly cell for years before they finally let me out. The female guard took me to a bathroom to clean up before my bail hearing. I was able to take a five-minute hot shower. I stepped in the dirty shower that looked as if there was mud stuck to the tile. I tried my best to wash my body with a messed up leg and sprained wrist. The female guard must have felt bad for me, because she gave me an extra five minutes.
After my shower I was handed a towel, fresh orange jumpsuit, an off brand of white sneakers, and powder. I wanted to ask her for deodorant, but I didn’t want to say anything and risk getting another beating. I quickly dried my body and sprinkled powder under my armpits to prevent sweat and musk. Once I was dressed, I was taken to a room where I was served a breakfast of runny eggs, hard grits, and burnt biscuits. I wasn’t really hungry, so I gulped down the orange juice and filled up on my water.
The officer called my name to place shackles on my legs and wrist. The moment the shackles touched my left leg, I flinched and screamed in pain. Something was wrong with my legs and it didn’t help that I had to keep walking on it. I was lead to an oak table where I could see a lawyer sitting there waiting for me. I looked back and I could see the Michael’s, Dale, Smoke, and Zana. The fact that Journi and Shantika weren’t there brought tears to my eyes. I still didn’t have an update on Shantika and it pained my heart not knowing the condition of my friend.
“I love you,” Dale mouthed to me, causing a faint smile to grace my lips.
I took a seat next to my lawyer, who tried to quickly get information from me. Since I was in the hole, I didn’t get the chance to get my one phone call, or even speak to my lawyer.
“My name is Davidson and I was hired by Smoke to take on your case. I noticed you were limping are you hurt?” He asked.
“Yes, they beat me the day they brought me in. Then, they threw me in a dark cell, neglecting my request to call home,” I replied, wiping my tears away.
“Stupid bastards told me you denied my request to see you.” He clenched his jaw. “Those bastards just made my job that much easier.” He chuckled.
“All rise,” he officer of the court said.
With the help of my lawyer, I stood to my feet and watched as the judged walked in. I looked in her face and was at lost for words. Looking in Judge’s Lee face was like looking in a mirror, except my skin was darker than hers. She must have figured out why I was looking at her because she was at lost for words herself. Her hands shot over her mouth as she took a seat in her chair with her eyes still fixed on me.
“Mom?” I whispered.
