He could have cleaned up a bit before coming there after the last battle, he supposed. Still could. But why bother? The blood just saved him the hassle of having to blow off the next female that came sashaying in his direction. He could look all he wanted. She could look all she wanted. But in the end, lookin’ was all that was gonna get done. And that just bit the big one. He drained the bottle, slammed it on the table and motioned for the barkeep to bring another. What the hell was wrong with all of them? So he was a little bloody. So what?
He took a certain amount of satisfaction from his bruised and split knuckles, remembering the way that demon had begged for mercy and wet himself. The darkness churning inside his soul wasn’t buried so deep just now. In fact, it simmered just below the surface, eager to be set free once more this night. Had been for a while now.
His eyes narrowed at the duo by the pool table. The cues dropped to the floor and bounced before rolling under the table when the two demons vanished. Next he glowered at the demons in the booths. Only one had the good sense to leave. The other two looked as if they were brewing for a fight. Well, he’d be happy to oblige them, whether they deserved to die or not.
He was sick and tired of hunting for relics. Disgusted and resentful over having to watch his buddies get paired up with the girls of their dreams. He wouldn’t even be pitiful enough to ask when it would be his turn. ’Cuz the answer was goddamned never. Not with his curse.
Gideon laced his fingers together and stretched his arms out in front of him, cracking his knuckles. If Dumb and Dumber over there wanted a fight, well bring it the hell on.
In a matter of minutes, Purgatory lay in ruins. Tables were shattered, chairs were smashed, smoking holes dotted the walls and demon blood was splattered everywhere. Tiny fires speckled the floor. Gideon stalked back to his table, the last man—well, demon—standing, and plopped back down, barely winded and more than a little disappointed. They hadn’t put up near enough of a fight to suit him.
He turned to glare at the barkeep. “I thought I told you to bring me another damned bottle.”

Chronicles of the Fallen, Book 1
Born of heaven, forged in hellfire and damnation, Xander roams the earth as an unlikely protector of the innocent. Grudgingly embroiled in a demon uprising, Xander must help his brothers-in-arms recover four Sacred Relics rumored to be Lucifer’s downfall.
The stakes are simple. If he fails, a new regime will assume control of the underworld and the boundaries between hell and earth will crumble. If he succeeds, long-awaited salvation could be his. But when a beautiful innocent is caught in the crossfire, the price of redemption could be too steep.
Kyanna Hughes is a hereditary Guardian, sworn to protect a sacred Relic at all costs. From the cradle, she was taught to hate all things demon, but her unwanted attraction to Xander turns everything she’s been taught upside down.
The danger she faces involves more than her heart. For Kyanna is not only a Guardian, but a keeper of secrets so dangerous, that to keep them out of demon hands even the angels in heaven would see her dead…
Warning: Contains a demon with a notoriously single-minded determination to save the world, and a sworn enemy for whom he will risk eternal damnation. And so begins the journey of six fallen demons and the women who capture their hearts…
