The water was sloshing over the side, as I burned the length of his rod with my lips kissing him and holding him against me. He was in danger of losing his composure. We had to show how we felt about one another. The sex had truth, and it had meaning. This was the time and place to show each other everything we had said with action. We had to believe we could be together and not let anybody stand in our way.

The motion of the ocean had me staring at him, hoping this was never going to come to its inevitable end. He wasn’t going to make it that much further. He surprised me trying to balance himself and stood to show me the eye of the storm in front of my eyes.

He was about to grab himself, but I took the decision out of his hands. I gripped him tightly, pulled at his hot flesh and waited for what was going to be a hot mess. I felt him pumping in my hand and then the knob grew this little bit extra.

I was barely able to get it into my mouth when the first shot streaked across my tongue and left me at a loss for words. I didn’t have anything more important to do than what I was doing right now. I continued to jerk his active member. The taste was unlike anything I had ever had in my mouth before. There was an explosion of flavors, fruity and delicious like he had purposely eaten the right foods to bring out a taste I would be unable to resist; one I would come back to each and every time. I could hear him grunting his response, as I siphoned like a madwoman to get him to release all of the treasures from below.

I continually squeezed from the bottom to the top, and I was driving him crazy with my tongue licking around the tiny little hole which had just deposited a mouthful. I loved the feeling and the creamy texture. That liquid ambrosia was hard to let go, but eventually, I was going to have to swallow. I let it linger there for some time and then it was gone never to be seen again. I licked my lips clean and then I did the same thing to him with him pulling at my hair. He was moaning in obvious enjoyment to the way I was taking great pleasure of his sensitive nature. It was one of my secret weapons. I had many, and he had yet to scratch the surface of my womanly treats.

I don’t know how he managed, but he did sit back down without collapsing altogether. His breath was short with his knob showing his spent state. The way he was looking at me had me waiting for more.

“I thought you said it was going to be my decision. You got a little carried away there, but I’m not complaining. I have never enjoyed orally satisfying a man as I have with you. The look on your face makes my efforts worth it. Your reaction gives me the freedom to explore your body. There is a particular part of your anatomy I am fascinated by. It’s quite something to see. I just hope I’ll never get tired of having it. I see this being impossible, but you can never tell when a couple is going to become complacent with one another,” I said.

“There was this emptiness which filled my heart. I was drowning, and you threw me a lifeline. All of my instincts were telling me to run in the opposite direction. I knew I was going to burn, but I was willing to take the risk for you. On the inside, I was scared to get close, but I didn’t want you to see that part of me. It was looking into your eyes I found a reason to open up. I never want you to doubt the sincerity of my words,” Tristan said as he moved to dive underneath the water like some kind of naughty scuba diver.

He gave me his tongue, and there was no way I was going to sit there without making any noise. I had already had my fill, but his effort did not go in vain. I held on until he emerged and kissed me with a passionate embrace which had me wondering what had I ever done with my life without him. It was a fruitless search that ended when I wasn’t even looking for something real. I needed this thing between us to last to prove to me it was possible.

“I think it goes without saying I’m not going to leave you because Spencer is your father. If that were to come true, then I would like to know what your intentions are. Are you even entertaining the idea of staying here with him and learning at his feet? The one thing I have always admired about you is that you have always been a woman of character. You know you are better than anybody I have ever known. Don’t let him make you lose the part of yourself which gives you the freedom to stand on your own two feet,” Tristan said as we heard a knock on the door and it was a foreboding feeling that hung in the air over our heads.

  Chapter 24

I had to think about this before answering his question. “I can honestly tell you I don’t know what I’m going to do. There really is only one way to find out. The answer is waiting for us. I just hope I can live with the results. My father was my world, my hero and now I get the idea he was a coward all of this time. He was too afraid to tell me the truth because he didn’t want to lose me,” I said as I felt the weight on the top of my shoulders. It was hard to know what I was going to do when the time came. I needed to believe I could withstand his influence. We made our way down to the lab, but we were in no hurry to get there.

We all stood around pretending not to care, but everybody had a vested interest to learn the truth and nothing but the truth. I wanted to shout to the world I didn’t care about the results, but I knew this was only lying to myself. This was going to change everything. Whether or not I was Spencer’s daughter, it still remained my mother and Spencer were closer than anybody could be.

“The suspense is killing me. Are you finally going to put us out of our misery or are you still going to play this game all over again? I know there’s a part of you enjoying torturing me like this. I don’t blame you. It would appear the physician will have to heal thyself. It stands to reason you were the only medical personnel in the house. I’m glad you were able to get one of the other guys with paramedic training to give you a hand. Had he refused, I don’t think he would have been very happy with the outlook of his future,” Spencer said as a man who knew how to get things done with intimidation and tactics hard to deny.

“I’m on enough pain medication to light up the city of Toledo. I’m just lucky I’m still in control of my faculties. The pain has subsided. There’s this dull ache in my shoulder throbbing every time I move. I’m glad you are a good shot. I never knew that about you, but I shouldn’t be all surprised you would have other talents besides what I have seen in the bedroom,” Leslie said as she was holding this white envelope with the results hidden within.

“I understand the white envelope is for dramatic effect. I know you want to hurt him, but I hope it doesn’t translate to hurting me. I have never done anything to harm you or to cause you to think I was untruthful with you at any time. I see things have changed for you and your feelings for him are not as strong as they once were. I know you don’t want to be here. He is giving you his word he will let you go and help your brother. I’m going to hold him to that,” I said not realizing I really didn’t have any hold on him whether I was his daughter or not.

Tristan was holding my hand, but he wasn’t saying anything. I think he was trying to be the strong silent type. I heard the crinkle of the paper as she undid the envelope and pulled the sheet from within. She held it in her hands; took a deep breath and began to recite the results in clinical terms. Both Spencer and I looked at each other, and there was no way we could make heads or tails out of the medical jargon she was using.

“I think it would be a good idea if I said this in terms you can understand. I used to worry a lot about my patients, but then I realized I was only god’s messenger. He worked through me to help others. In the long run, I will find out whether or not my feelings for Spencer are anything more than a lasting impression in the bedroom. I don’t know what I’m going to do after this. I have no prospects, and I think it’s not unreasonable to ask for a golden parachute of a seven-figure sum,” Leslie said as she was using her position to give her a safety net.

“You know money means nothing to me. I’ll give you whatever sum you want, and you can even come back for more afterward. I don’t see you being this kind of girl, but this is all going to depend on whether or not you want to be with me. Can you be the bigger person and forgive me? I know if the pos
ition was reversed I don’t know exactly what I would do,” Spencer said as he tried to be upfront and not show any kind of disdain for her behavior.

“I told you I will need some time to sort things out on my own. I don’t need you to hover over me like I have no mind of my own. I feel it’s necessary to keep you waiting. This is just my way of getting my pound of flesh. The bullet you used was pulled out of the wall. You could have killed me, but I have to take into consideration you knew where to shoot to do the least damage. It doesn’t make me feel any better you took that kind of action, but I think I can get over it in time. I don’t want to give you any sort of false hope, though,” Leslie said apparently meaning to give him the idea things could not go back to the way they were.

There was really no way it could. This was something that was going to leave a permanent scar and something to remind her of the way he had gone off his rocker. The power had gone to his head. This was a desperate act from a desperate man. He had put her in the line of fire where he didn’t want her to be in the first place. It was kind of ironic that he would send her down to the lab to be safe and then be the one responsible for hurting her.

“The results are conclusive. There is no doubt, and I’ve checked three times to make sure. You two are father and daughter. I don’t know if this is a relief or a curse, but you can only go ahead from here. I have spoken about a cure with Willa, but it depends on whether you are willing to put yourself under the knife,” Leslie said as she went on to tell him the very same thing she told me about experimenting on him.

“I know I’m going to sound like a petulant child, but I don’t want to hear this. I just found out I am a father. I want to let it sink in before I decide on whether or not I’m going to risk my life for a daughter I didn’t even know I had. I know time is of the essence, but I won’t be pressured into taking this kind of risk. Like you, I’m going to need some time to come to terms with this,” Spencer said as he walked away, stopping in front of me to put his hand on my cheek in a fatherly gesture which seemed kinda creepy.

“I hope you don’t expect me to call you father. I have a father and just because we share the same blood doesn’t mean we are going to be thick as thieves. I’m sorry you thought I would jump at the opportunity to learn how to manipulate those around me, but this is not me. I don’t need you, and I would rather die than to have you save my life. I thought I would beg for your help, but I’m not going to lower myself to those standards. Stooping to that level would only make me look weak in your eyes. I don’t think I could handle having to count on you to come to the rescue,” I said as his fingers lingered on my cheek and then he grabbed my chin roughly. I thought for a moment he was going to hurt me, but then he smiled and left the room without saying a word.

“You certainly did put him in his place, but it didn’t seem to affect them. You hit him with your best shot, and I don’t think you got the reaction you were looking for. There’s no point in standing around waiting for him to come to his senses. You say the word, and I will become a one man army. I will not let any of his men stand against me without falling against my overwhelming might. I will smite anybody who gets in my way and then I will grab him by his hair and drag him down here. I’m close to doing this already, but I’m going to give you time to think about your options,” Tristan said as he was standing there, ready to go after Spencer and take him from behind with the element of surprise.

“I want him to do it because it is the right thing and not because he was coerced into doing it. It can’t be easy for him to register I’m even his daughter. I know I’m still trying to live with it myself. I don’t know what I’m going to tell my father about any of this. I’m not even sure I’m going to mention it. He has always seen through me. I can’t hide one damn thing without him having his radar go off. I need time to reflect. I’ve come to terms with my own mortality, but I still hope for a miracle. I don’t want you to do anything regardless if my condition worsens or not,” I said as I thought about several ways I could celebrate but then I began to think about a party to celebrate my life after I was gone.

“I promise I won’t do anything that is going to make you look at me differently. I want you to live, but I want you to do it on your own terms. If you think it’s a good idea to leave the decision in your father’s hands, then who am I to make you see he can’t be trusted. I will say that learning about you has made the cocksure grin disappear. That can only mean he wants to do the right thing, but he has no idea how to go about it and still be able to do what he is good at. Whatever happens, he will either die or be laid up for a few weeks in recovery. That would be a real detriment to his business. However, I may be able to do something to help relieve him of that worrisome bother,” Tristan said as he went on to tell me he would gladly take up the mantle of responsibility and then give it back when he was strong enough to take it into his hands.

“I can’t believe you would do this for me. I could never be more in love with you than at this moment. There is something very strange about depending on others to do something that is going to save my life. I give you permission to go to him and make your proposal about taking over on his behalf. You need to make it damn clear you have no plans on taking what is rightfully his. There can be no doubt in his mind his power will be there when he wakes up from this nightmare. That is the only way he’s going to even consider going under the knife. He already knows doing something like this and surviving will take off 10 years of his life,” I said as he left me to go and have a very serious discussion about my future with my father.

I was still trying to get used to saying that. I was having a hard time seeing him in the position of teaching me how to ride a bike. He didn’t seem like the patient sort, and there was never anything quite good enough for him. That kind of influence would have made me a basket case or just like him on the cusp of insanity. One wrong step would send me down into a spiral there was no recovery from. I was glad my mother had protected me from him. He was a man who had his own way of doing things. I doubted I would be very receptive to some of his methods.

“I have to say you have one of the good ones there. Just be careful, you know he has been hurt. You must know it was very hard for him to talk about his feelings at all. He seems like the kind of guy who would keep things to himself. He bottles it up until it festers into something that’s ugly inside. I don’t want you to waste your time on somebody who isn’t going to be there for you. I think he has proven time and time again there is nothing he won’t do to keep you in his life,” Leslie said as she prepared the equipment on the off chance my father was going to come through in the end.

“I don’t mean to be like this, but I get this feeling you didn’t say everything needed to be said. I think you know by now I demand an absolute honesty which will allow me to trust you. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that keeping me in the dark is going to keep me safe. Tell me what is on your mind. I would rather know than to be blindsided later by information that should have been mine, to begin with,” I said with her standing there, looking at me and then looking away as if she was embarrassed by the very words that were going to come from her lips.

“I didn’t want to mention this, but I feel you need to know. There’s a significant possibility this procedure won’t even work. I'm not sure if you have considered being in the emergency room with him when he goes under the procedure. It would probably put a smile on an old man’s heart, but that’s entirely up to you. I would understand if you were squeamish and not a lot of people can see blood and deal with it effectively. I’m not trying to pressure you or put you in a difficult position. I will need to do some preliminary tests on you. They are not too evasive, and then we will have to wait and see how your father is going to act. I hope for your sake he sees his fatherly duty is to have his children outlive him and not the other way around,” Leslie said as she began to calibrate the equipment. She was making every effort to ensure there weren’t any unforeseen problems.

  “I d
on’t know if I want to be in the operating room. I know he would feel more comfortable with a familiar face, but I’m just not sure our relationship is there yet. I know I’m counting on him to save my life. I can’t bring myself to think like this. That is a heavy weight to carry and one I wouldn’t want to wish on my worst enemy,” I said leaving the laboratory after going through a quick test and feeling a whole lot better, but still suffering from the very same poison which had been injected into him.

I had to find out why this was happening and something told me Spencer would slip something. I just had to get him talking and then slip in casual questions which would hopefully not raise his suspicion.

This was the first time I had the run of the house without a guard keeping watch over me. I casually made my way outside, and I could see the orange glow of the sun; it made me aware this was one of the beauties I was going to miss.

I heard raised voices, and I knew they were of Spencer and Tristan’s. They were obviously at odds, fighting like cats and dogs.
