Oceans Apart 3 Page 2

She glared at me, her eyes piercing to my very soul then she took a deep breath and said, “I told you— you son of a bitch, not to hurt her and against my better judgment, I trusted you that you wouldn’t. Now she’s stuck in London at some fucking hotel while you’re out—”

I jumped up and replied, “What? Ginny’s here in the UK? She’s still here? Where is she?”

Her eyes narrowed and she got in closer to the screen. “Fuck no, I’m not telling you where she is. So you can go hurt her again. God, Tristan…” she paused and took a breath, “How could you?”

“Kari,” I looked right into the camera, “I’m serious. I don’t know what blonde you’re talking about and I ran directly to the airport as soon as I got her messages. When I got there, her plane had already left. I tried. I would love to see Ginny right now. I was thrilled that she was here.”

Her voice calmed and she slowed down her ranting, “You really didn’t know?”

“Know what? That she was here? No, I was at the hospital picking up my mate.” I hoped I could raise a smile with her by saying, “You know, the high on meds stupid motherfucker you referred to earlier,” but she wasn’t in the mood for joking around. “…then I got the message she was leaving without even seeing me. I tried to catch her Kari, I really did. I even bought a ticket to LA so I could go to her gate and find her but I thought I was too late. I saw her plane leaving the stand.”

She pursed her lips and looked up as if in thought. “So…who’s the skinny stiletto bitch that hugged you at the airport then? You’re going to tell me it was you’re fucking sister I suppose?”

“Oh, is that what all this is about? That’s just Vanessa. She’s a nobody. How do you know about that anyway?”

Kari smirked. “Yeah, right… player. Ginny was right there in the hall. She saw it all with her own eyes. And you broke her heart.”

“Honestly Kari, she’s no one you or Ginny need to worry about. My dad hired her to do some shit in LA for the new contract we’ve got there. Yes, I used to date her, but that was a while ago and she means nothing to me.”

“Did you say she’s coming to LA? Ginny told me your dad didn’t want you seeing her anymore, but that’s going a little far don’t you think? Sending your ex to Los Angeles? How convenient.” She smirked.

“Kari, come on. It’s not how you think it is at all. Where’s Ginny? What hotel is she in? Tell me, please.”

“No, you’re not going to hurt her again. I think she just needs to come home and forget all about you…and Vanessa…your stuck-up dad…and your fucked up life.”

I was getting annoyed with Kari’s diatribe. She may have thought she had the upper hand, but I had a hunch that Ginny wouldn’t have strayed too far from the terminal building if she was heading back home soon. If she was there in her own name, I’d ask around and hopefully find her. “Never mind Kari. I know you’re just protecting your friend and I totally admire that. I’d do the same if I was in your shoes, but you’ve got me all wrong on this. Trust me, I’ll find her with or without you,” then I pressed the red icon and hung up.

The mixture of prescription drugs and beer had finally taken their toll on Mike. He’d dozed off looking out over the city below. It was mesmerizing watching the Thames snaking its way downstream from St George’s Wharf to the Pool of London and beyond but I had no time to take it in right now. My girl was holed up and miserable in some lonely hotel room and I had to find her. I showered, put on my jeans and grabbed a button up shirt. I scribbled a hurried note for Mike about where I was going and headed out the door. Mike would be ok on his own for a while and I’d asked the front desk to check in on him if I wasn’t back by morning. Too bad I couldn’t take Ginny a bouquet and a million apologies, but hopefully, I would at least see her before she left the country.

I got to the car and was about to jump in when remembered my chocolate-stained seat. Luckily, I found a big towel in the boot, covered it up and headed back to the airport. It was getting light as I drove through the city and I felt like I’d pulled an all-nighter like my uni days. I was tired and my eyes were starting to burn, but I had to see her. I could sleep later. Kari didn’t tell me what time her plane was leaving so I didn’t want to waste any time getting there.

I knew it was a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack but the company used the Hilton a lot for our international clients as it was attached right next to Terminal 5. I had to cut down the odds so that would be the best place for me to start and I parked the car and hurried up to Reception.

“Result!” Right outside the hotel were containers with various flowers in full bloom, so I looked around to see if anyone was watching then plucked a dozen off their stalks. I hid them behind a chair at the front door before I walked up to the front desk to find out if she was staying there and if so, what room she was in. I know hotels have to protect people’s privacy and aren’t allowed to tell anyone what rooms their guests are in, but after I mentioned that Armstrong was a big customer and a hundred quid cash tucked into the guy’s top pocket, he folded. I grabbed the flowers and bounded up the stairs to the second floor, my foot landing on every third step.

Room 204. I hoped to God she was still in there. The concierge wouldn’t tell me outright if she’d checked out or not, just hinted with “she may have been in room 204, Sir” bullshit. I suppose he was just protecting his job. I tapped nervously on the door and waited. The thorns on the stems of the flowers dug into my palms, so I loosened my grip on the bouquet and knocked again, this time a little louder. “Gin? It’s me, Tristan. Are you in there?” I whispered through the door. The thought that someone else might answer the door crossed my mind, but I’d hoped the guy down stairs wasn’t that stupid as to send me to the wrong room.

I had my ear to the door listening for movement and praying she was still in there. I heard her sleepy voice on the other side of the door “Who is it?”

  “Gin? Baby… it’s me, Tristan.”

  Chapter 3 — Ginny

I barely had the door open when he slid inside the room and pulled me into his arms. I was still in a sleep haze and completely shocked. “Tristan? Is it really you? Mmm…how the hell did you know I was here?”

I had so many questions but my whole body relaxed into his arms. Lingering confusion melted into pleasure and I threw my arms around his waist and gripped tight to the back of his shirt. All too soon I could feel him moving back until we stood there, arms still wrapped around one another in the doorway.

“Baby, it’s okay, I’m here now.”

My mouth opened, but no sound came out. When I caught my breath, I whispered, “Yes, yes. I still can’t believe it but you’re here now. Come in. I’m so happy to see you, but I’m still sleepy.” I hoped my excitement didn’t come through my voice. I didn’t want him to think I’d forgiven him that quickly and I still wanted to know who the skinny blonde girl was, but it felt so good just holding him again, I thought I’d wait until later to ask.

“You texted me and I—” Tristan paused and swallowed. “I’m sorry I didn’t —”

“Shhh, I don’t care right now.”

His strong arms wrapped around me as if he were afraid I was going to disappear. Despite our stifled conversation, he still made me shiver just having his warm body pressed against mine. It was a sensation I’d thought I’d never feel again. My legs trembled and if he wasn’t holding me so close and tight against him, I might have melted into a heap on the floor.

“I’m sleepy. I’ve had a long day. Come lay with me, just for a minute…” I began. My voice shook as it trailed off into silence.

He raised his hands and cupped my chin, pulling me closer to him. His lips met mine and crushed me in one of those all consuming, breathy kisses he’d given me so many times before. My toes curled and I let myself go, floating in his arms, in his depth, his space. We moved toward the bed I’d already been sleeping in and he lay down, putting his arm out in a silent invitation. I crawled up into my favorite spot in the croo
k of his arm and lay my head on his chest. His fingers twirled playfully in my hair and the rhythm of his heartbeat gently soothed me back to sleep.

I woke up with a start to him snoring lightly and for a moment, I’d forgotten where I was. Tristan shifted behind me and it brought back the memory of the day before. The warmth of his chest on my back and his hand across my waist gave me the chills and I wondered what would happen next. He was here next to me and not with someone else, but the vision in my head of that snooty girl calling out his name and then hugging him still lingered in my brain.

As I lay there thinking about it, I realized it could’ve been anyone. A cousin? A friend? Yes, friend.

  Girl friend.

  Girlfriend.

I elbowed him in the side. “Tristan. Tristan wake up.”

His arm slipped around me and he mumbled in my ear, “Good morning, baby.”

“Who was that girl hugging you yesterday?” I asked, not even giving him a chance to open his eyes.

“Vanessa and she means nothing, baby.” His arm squeezed a little tighter around me and honestly I didn’t know what to do, how to feel. On one hand, I was in his arms where I longed to be, on the other hand, we still lived oceans apart and he could do whatever he wanted when I wasn’t here, or he wasn’t in America.

I whispered, not moving from his grip. “Why was she there? Did she know you were coming to see me?”

Tristan sighed before answering softly. “No, it’s a long story. Do we have to talk about it now?”

  “Please?”

  “Can I kiss you first?”

I rolled over to face him and his bright blue eyes were sleepy, but sparkling. His hand reached around, tangled up in my hair and when he pulled me close to him, all doubts about my hasty visit to London being a waste of time and money were washed away.

He pulled away for a moment and looked at me, his eyes twinkling with desire. He looked much happier than he’d been the day before, even with his sleepy eyes.

I didn’t even want to imagine what I looked like. Thankfully he didn’t grimace when he saw my puffy, sleep-deprived face. “How long are you here for?” he asked.

“Don’t know. What time is it?”

“What do you mean you don’t know?” He leaned in to kiss my face as his fingers trailed down my cheek.

“Two weeks,” I replied, smiling. The awkwardness that had initially settled over us was dissipating quickly.

“Perfect. That’ll give me plenty of time to show you off,” Tristan joked as he climbed on top of me, spreading my thighs apart with his knee. “I still can’t believe you’re here. Welcome to London.” He smiled, just before he slid his tongue across my breasts, kissing me down my tummy and landing at the sweet spot between my thighs.

I inhaled sharply when I felt his big fingers spread my lips apart and the flat of his hot tongue lick me up and down. He lifted my legs and rested them across his shoulders. Englishmen must love to eat pussy. He slurped and sucked and I knew the way his hands kneaded the inner flesh on my thighs and the way his mouth devoured my pussy, I would cum fast and hard. And I didn’t want to go there quite yet.

“Tristan,” I breathed, tapping on his arm. “Come up here and kiss me. I want to feel you inside me.” He kept up the licking, the sucking and my legs started to tremble. I grabbed his hair with both hands and held him there tight against my pussy. I didn’t want him to stop, or to go on for that matter. I wished time could stop, rewind like TiVo, go back to yesterday and wish that I’d seen him before that skinny-armed bitch had. But that’s not how it happened.

My heart instantly felt like someone had stuck their hand into my chest and ripped it out. I pushed his head away, “Tristan, I’m sorry. I can’t.”

  “Baby, what’s wrong?”

I squirmed out from under him and sat up on the bed, my arms folded across my chest defensively. “I saw that girl talking to you yesterday. She hugged you. She put her arms around your neck and you smiled at her. Who is she? Please tell me she’s a cousin or a friend or a lesbian or something.”

“I wish I could tell you that, but I can’t,” he sighed. “Remember when I told you about my ex who cheated on me?”

  “Yeah?”

“Well, that’s her. Vanessa. I guess my father must have had some stupid fucking idea to send her to Los Angeles and work with the new boss at the Armstrong offices there on the contract we won. So… I guess the former teacher has turned into a high paid receptionist.

“She’s going to LA? Oh, that’s great.” I rolled my eyes and shook my head in disbelief. This whole relationship thing we had going on was getting more ridiculous and more complex by the minute. “Wonder why he didn’t send you? Or are you too busy here?”

He cupped my face. The warmth from his hands gave me the shivers. “Ginny, I don’t know what my father thought, honestly. I have nothing to do with her. If he wants to send her to LA, that’s better for me. I won’t have to deal with her here. I’d planned to go there myself and run that project, but that’s all changed now.”

“So you have nothing to do with her? Not even when I’m not here?” My worries started to wane and as I looked into his deep blue eyes, all I found was total honesty and concern. He really was a gentleman.

“Gin, when you aren’t by my side, or on the internet talking to me, all I can think of is you. Day and night. Your dark brown hair, those beautiful grey eyes, the way you walk, talk...” He leaned in to kiss me and mumbled, “…those perfect red lips.”

He tangled his hand in my hair as he gently laid me back down on the bed. He made sure his lips never left mine as his fingertips trailed down my body and found the hot wetness between my legs. “Ginny, you’re so wet. Baby, let me fuck you. Let me show you we fit. We’re meant to be together.”

I nodded my head “yes” and he nestled himself between my thighs. I let out a groan of pure pleasure as he slid his rock hard cock inside me. “Oh God, Tristan…” A slow, steady, rhythm. First he circled, then withdrew and slid it back in again. Every time his delicious cock hit bottom, I moaned. He was huge, but I wanted to take it all. I wanted him inside me as deep as he could go. I moved my butt to get some leverage, wrapped my legs tight around his hips and pulled him in closer. God, he filled me up completely. His thick cock filled me to the top and then some. He rocked his hips and let out a growl so loud, they’d probably heard us in the lobby. He lifted my thighs into the crooks of his arms and his cock reached places I’d never thought possible.

Then he did something no-one I’d ever been with before had done…he smacked my ass. And oh my God, the sting of his hand and the fullness of his dick pounding into me WOKE UP EVERY NERVE I HAD IN MY BODY! Fuck! I was ready to let my creamy cum wash all over his cock. “Tristan,” I breathed. “Tristan…oh, God…”

“Cum for me Gin, come on, cum for me baby…” he panted as he rocked so deep into me. Our bodies were covered in sweat as he leaned down and with both hands on my breasts, pushed them together and sucked both nipples into his mouth at the same time. That threw me over the edge and with the heat and sweat and his cock and mouth, I fucking exploded and yelled “Tristan...fu-u-u-u-k!!” grinding my hips against his, trying to get him deeper and deeper inside me as I shuddered through my orgasm.

I saw the desire for me in his eyes as his body tensed and his cock throbbed against my pussy. He thrust into me again and shook as he came with a loud groan. He bent over and kissed me. His hot tongue licked and sucked at my lips as my toes curled in the air, my chest heaving as I tried to catch my breath.

I lay there panting, running my hands up and down his sides, feeling the hardness of his body, trying to calm the electricity that ran through my veins. My fingers traced along the definition of his muscles and laying here with him, I still couldn’t believe he wanted me. I mean… he’s hot, rich, fuckable. And tattooed.

  Holy.

  Fuck.

  Fuck.

He was half on me, half on the bed, resting his weight on his elbow. I
ran my fingers through his hair and patted his shoulder, “Tristan, I need to get going. What time is it, anyway?”

“Who cares? We’re here together.” He rolled over onto his back and pulled me over with him. He took my hand in his, lifted it to his lips and kissed my fingers, sending chills and a million emotions through me.

“Tristan,” I started, practically whispering, “I don’t know how to say this and I don’t want you to get the wrong impression, but…” I thought how I could ask him without sounding like a dork or a needy, high maintenance, whiny bitch.

  “What Gin?”

I took a deep breath and let it out. “…I have a plane ticket to leave today.” I blew out a long breath, “and…well, don’t think anything of this and whatever your answer is, I’ll be cool with it. Okay?”

“Yes, but what is it?” he asked. My heart almost jumped out of my chest when he raised his eyelids to look at me and resumed the fingertip kissing, one tip, then the next, until he almost reached my pinky finger.

With my heart pounding and not knowing what he would say, I finally blurted it out. “Am I going back to America today or am I staying here with—”

He immediately lifted himself up and sucked my bottom lip into his mouth, biting gently and said “You’re staying.”

I wrapped my arms around him so tight. He said the exact words I wanted to hear. I knew I’d have to deal with Kari later. Right now, I wanted him. Just him. Right then in that tiny little moment in my life, there was nowhere else I’d rather be than in his arms. And I hoped he felt the same way about me, too.

  Chapter 4 — Tristan

I didn’t know how I felt. I felt a little mushy inside that she’d agreed to stay. On the other hand, I knew she wasn’t staying forever and I didn’t want to get hurt. My mind raced, my heart was pounding and my stomach was in a knot. I mean I’m Tristan fucking Armstrong. I don’t fall like this, not this hard anyway. I fell once and vowed to never do it again. And here I was… again. My head told me to play it cool while my heart said jump in and enjoy the ride.
