She Howled, They Came Page 15

“Oh my God,” she said. “Look how wrinkled my skin is from the shower.”

Max and Chuck each grabbed one of her hands, pulled them down towards their lips and peppered them with soft, tender kisses.

“You know what’s good for that?” Max asked.

Tina flopped her head towards him. “No? What?”

“This,” he whispered, as he drew his head close and kissed her.

Chuck tapped her on the shoulder. She flipped her head to the other side.

“And this,” he said, as he pressed his lips against hers as well.

“Is that all it takes?” she asked.

  “No,” Chuck replied. “There’s more…”

As he spoke, Max crawled across Tina and straddled her thighs.

  “Much, much more…” he said.

Tina glanced down towards him and saw the reappearance of thick erection. Fueled by a desire that a single kiss unleashed, Tina eased her body back into the firm mattress beneath her. A long night lay ahead, but if she had to wait even a moment longer, it would be too long.

The next morning, Tina sat straight up from a sound sleep. She wiped at her eyes as she tried to recall the unfamiliar surroundings. She glanced down to her left, then right at the swirls of sheets and bedspreads strewn across the mattress.

As her memory flooded back, downstairs she heard the sound of Chuck’s laugh. Unable to find her clothes anywhere in sight, she tugged at the six hundred thread count sheets and improvised a one-of-a-kind bathrobe. As Tina walked towards the stairs, her toes poked out from underneath and pressed into the cool marble floor beneath her feet.

“Hello?” she called out from the top of the stairs.

The chatter coming from the kitchen stopped. A pair of sneakers squeaked across the floor and a moment later, Max’s head peered around the corner.

“Hey,” he said. “We were just about to come wake you up.”

Tina smiled and stretched. Her muscles, tight in places she wasn’t used to, ached as she moved.

“Mmm,” she began. “What time is it?”

Max leaned back and looked into the kitchen. “Um, almost noon,”

“Noon!” Tina yelled. “Oh my God… I… I have to get to work!”

She pivoted and started to head back towards the bedroom.

“Hey!” Max yelled as she gathered up the bottom of her makeshift nightgown.

  “What?”

  “It’s… Saturday, you know.”

Tina stood and flung her hair back. With her right hand, she held a fistful of it while she clutched at the layers of material with her left.

“It is?” she said. “Are you sure?”

Max chuckled. “Yeah, quite. Get dressed and come down.”

“Okay, I will but um, Max…?”

  “Yeah?”

  “Where are my clothes?”

“Oh, shit… right,” he said as he snapped his fingers. The crisp sound of his digits as the collided echoed along the walls of the house. “We cleaned them for you. We’ll bring them up.”

  “You… cleaned them?”

“Yeah…” Max said. “We’ll be right up.”

Hot guys that do laundry? That’s a first…

With the sheets in hand, Tina meandered back towards the bedroom and plopped down on the mattress. A few minutes later, she heard Chuck and Max walk up the stairs when a second or two later, they appeared in the doorway. Chuck held what looked to be a plate full of food… a sandwich or perhaps a burger. Max stood next to him with her clothes folded into a neat bundle at his waist.

Tina blew a lock of her hair back out of her eyes.

“Hi,” she said with a small wave of her right hand.

“Hungry?” Chuck began as he walked towards her.

  “Starved!”

As he sat down next to her, the weight of his body tipped her towards him. Tina grabbed him by the upper arm and shrieked as she headed face first towards the plate, which she now knew contained a burger.

“Whoa! Easy,” Max said as he grabbed her from behind. As he sat down to the other side of her, the dip in the mattress leveled out.

“Thanks,” she replied with a sheepish grin.

A few minutes later, Tina munched away at her food. Tender bites of salted ground beef, mixed with lettuce, tomatoes and just the right amount of ketchup and mustard slid down her throat. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d been so famished.

“So,” Chuck said. “When will you be ready?”

Tina glanced at him as her mouth ground down the most recent bite.

“Hmm?” she muttered as she swallowed. She looked back and forth between them. “What… what do you mean? Are we going somewhere?”

  “No,” Max replied. “You are.”

As he spoke, Tina popped a fry in her mouth. She held her finger inside for a moment and then withdrew it as she contemplated the meaning of his last statement.

“I… am?” she said. “Where am I… going?”

“To get your stuff,” Chuck said. “You know… from your house.”

Tina took one last hard swallow and placed the plate with the burger down on the bed. Her left hand clutched a thick cloth napkin. She moved it back and forth between her fingers and wiped at the greasy remnants left by the meal.

“Why would I be going to get my stuff from my house?”

“Because you’re living here with us,” Chuck said. He turned his upper body towards her and gestured towards the plate “You all done with that?”

“Huh?” Tina stammered as she looked at him.

“Are you done with your meal?” he said once more.

“No… I mean… yes,” she said. “Wait… no… what I meant is when was all of this decided? That you want me… to live here?”

“Um,” Max began. “This morning… eightish.”

“Do you need us to spell this out for you, Tina?” Chuck asked.

Tina clutched the napkin and held it between her thighs. She shrugged and said, “I don’t know… I’m not sure what to say.”

Max leaned over and kissed her on the cheek. She smiled and turned to look at him but as she did, Chuck moved towards her other cheek and did the same.

“If you say anything other than ‘yes’, then we can’t let you leave,” Chuck said.

  “Ever.” Max added.

“Oh, so you’re telling me that you’re holding me hostage unless I comply with your demands?”

“Only in a sexual way,” Max said.

“Yeah,” Chuck began. “Our desire for you is purely physical. Nothing more. Not. One. More. Thing.”

Tina smiled as they joked with her.

“Look, Tina,” Max said. “We meant what we said to you at the clinic. We are drawn to you… both of us… unlike any other woman we’ve ever been with.”

“Yeah,” Chuck began. “And now that you’re part of us… in the most intimate and profound of ways… we never want that to come to an end, not ever.”

“Stay here with us.” Max said. “Pursue your dreams, but don’t do it without us in your life.”

“We are all the same now,” Chuck added. “Inside and out. There’s no reason for any of us to go on searching when everything we need is right here.”

Tina exhaled and collapsed backwards onto the mattress. She stared up at the ceiling and marveled at how fast her life changed once she decided to take control of it. As she lay there, the brothers flopped back on either side of her.

“Okay,” she said with a rising tone in her voice. “I’ll do it… but only on one condition.”

“Uh oh, bro,” Max said. “Here it comes.”

“Yeah,” Chuck said as he laughed. “Okay, what is it?”

“That I get to have sex with you… whenever I want… in that shower,” she said.

The brothers rolled around and laughed in hysterics.

“Really?” Max said. “That’s your demand… hot sex in the shower?”

  Tina smiled and glanced
at both of them.

  “Yep!” she chirped.

“Well, you know the only thing that will lead to is a life filled with bliss,” Chuck began. “Not to mention… babies.”

Tina’s eyes widened as she snapped her head in his direction.

“Is that problem for you?” Chuck asked.

  Tina shrugged.

“No… I mean… I don’t know,” she said. “I guess I never thought about where or when that might happen in my life.”

Max propped himself up on his elbow. “Where? In the shower… When? About five minutes from now. You ready?”

Joy pulsed in every cell of Tina’s body. Her eyes bounced back and forth in blissful expectation as the image of cheer-filled years and a family to enjoy it with, at long last, flashed into her mind.

She’d done more than just survive… she’d thrived.

And now, on the verge of starting her own pack, she took a deep breath of gratitude for her everything she had; but most of all, for herself, and her belief that no matter what, she’d come out on top.
