She slowed after another minute and our eyes met again.
“What’s going to happen today?” she whispered.
“I don’t know, darling. I’m not a fortune teller.”
That much was the truth.
All I could do was face the heat.
Face my club.
Face the reaper.
But before that…
I pulled Tia close again - we still had two hours to kill.
I stood with a full table staring me down. The room was powerful. Guys gave their everything to get into the conference room. To sit at the table. To have a vote. And their votes were the ones that set the path for the entire MC.
“We took a vote on this,” Jasper said. “How to proceed with what’s happened.”
“Anything you’d like to say?” Prez asked.
“I was given orders and I went against them,” I said. “I won’t beat around that. The way I feel and the way things happened… I won’t beat around that either. I was thrust into this woman’s life and told to learn every aspect of her life. So I did. The more I learned, the more I cared. The more I cared, the more I…”
“Enough of the love shit,” Trev said. He stood up. “She stood here in this room and said you proposed to her and she was going to be your old lady. I know bullshit when I see it, smell it, and step in it. I’m not going to ask you if that was bullshit. But I want to know if you were to be put in that position, would you take care of her as your old lady?”
“Without a doubt,” I said.
Jasper grabbed my leather and threw it to the middle of the table. “That’s where the cut stays.”
“So I’m out?” I asked.
“Never said that,” Prez said. “But we’re going to blindfold you and see just how much you really love Tia.”
thirty-eight.
(Tia)
Some woman told me to come with her.
I walked down the hallway and toward Diesel’s room. We ended up going to Diesel’s room where she opened the door and pushed me inside.
Trev sat on the edge of the bed, staring right at me.
He looked so angry.
I feared being alone.
Worse yet, I feared what had already happened to Diesel.
“Trev,” I said.
“Tia,” he said.
“What is this?”
Trev stood up.
Goddamn, he was like twenty feet tall.
“I’m trying to piece this thing together. This apparent love within my club.”
“Please…”
He shook his head. “You knew your father was in trouble.”
“Yes.”
“You came to this clubhouse and held out on information.”
“To protect my father.”
“So you’re loyal.”
“I guess you could say that,” I said.
“You know, accepting a proposal and saying you want to be someone’s old lady is a really big deal. And you want that.”
“I said what I said.”
“I’ll spare the bullshit talk that I gave to Diesel.”
“Where is Diesel?”
“Waiting for you.”
“He’s okay? He’s not in trouble?”
“I never said he wasn’t in trouble,” Trev said. “I’m going to do the same thing to you I did to him. I want see how far you’ll go.”
Trev walked around to the other side of the bed.
I had no idea what he was going to grab.
The last thing I expected to see was a wedding dress.
thirty-nine.
(D)
The blindfold came off me.
I saw Cash’s dick and turned my head.
“I know, it’s scary to see,” Cash said.
“Scary because I have no idea what diseases are crawling on it,” I said.
“So we’re back to square one,” Jasper said.
That’s when I realized there were two buckets on the ground.
Max was zipping up his fly next to one. Cash was zipping up his fly next to the other.
“Shit,” I said.
“Shit,” Jasper said.
“You’re going to pour piss on me.”
“You know the deal,” Jasper said. “You get pissed on you get the fuck out.”
“Where’s Tia?”
Prez appeared from the hallway.
“Do it,” Prez said without hesitation. “I’m tired of this.”
“Wait,” I said as both buckets were picked up. “Where’s Tia?”
“You might want to shut your eyes and mouth,” Cash said.
He and Max walked toward me.
I started to stand up, ready to fucking run through the clubhouse and find my woman.
My ass was two inches off the seat when both buckets were poured on my head. At that exact same second, I saw Tia walk around Prez.
In a white dress.
A fucking wedding dress?
The liquid splashed all over me and I licked my lips by instinct and tasted… beer.
I looked at Cash. He started to laugh.
I looked at Max. He grinned.
I looked at Prez and he started to clap his hands together.
He walked to me and gave me his hand. He pulled me to his feet and brought me close for a hug.
“You fucking asshole,” he growled. “We should have voted your ass out. But I couldn’t do it. You fucked up, but you helped us. We have Carl by the balls and that’s one less problem for me now. You want to have a wife? An old lady? Have at it. I won’t challenge your goddamn heart, brother.”
Prez broke away from me. I hurried toward Tia, grabbing her by the waist. “Holy shit. You look beautiful.”
“I don’t know what’s happening,” she whispered to me.
“Hey, D!” a voice boomed.
I turned and saw Jasper holding my cut.
He nodded.
It was mine.
I was still patched in.
And now I had a woman.
Tia touched my beer covered face and t-shirt.
We started to kiss and the clubhouse erupted in cheers.
We met as I was covered in beer… so it only seemed fitting to embrace forever the same way.
“Enough of the tongues,” Prez bellowed. “Are we going to do this or what?”
I looked at Tia and smiled.
She smiled back at me.
We turned to face Prez.
I leaned in and kissed her cheek.
The entire clubhouse was watching us.
I put my lips to her ear and whispered one last thing before the adventure of forever really began.
“Hey, darling… Merry Christmas.”
I couldn’t believe when the chance came for me to write and outlaw Christmas book. I wanted to do it last year but there wasn’t enough time. This year I made sure it happened. But I didn’t want it to be some cliché forced Christmas thing. I wanted it to be a real story. Real romance. And some hot sex! Writing about Diesel and Tia was such fun. Nothing quite like writing this book during those hot summer months! It definitely helped paved the way for this year’s holiday season!
