School, Sex and Secrets (School, Sex and Secrets #1) Page 9

“What can I do? I’ll just have to act like I’m not seeing Brad and he has to act like he’s not seeing me. There’s nothing that I can do about John and me — what’s done is done with that, especially after last night. I seriously doubt that Brad told him that he was meeting me here tonight.”

“Yeah, I don’t think he told him that. But you know he told Marc, but I’m sure Ken doesn’t know, either.”

“Yeah, I don’t think he does.”

“So, do you want me to invite them all to sit with us? After all, it’s a big booth and it’s just the two of us here right now so there’s plenty of room.”

I let out a slight sigh. “Yeah, I guess so.”

She waved them over. “HEY, GUYS! OVER HERE!”

They all came over to us as Brad held Lisa’s hand — this infuriated me. They all sat down in the booth. Ava was at the end and I was next to her. John was next to me, and Ken was next to John. Marc was next to Ken, and Lisa was in between Marc and Brad as Brad sat at the other end. Brad looked at me and smiled; I barely smiled back so he knew that I was mad about her being here — I couldn’t hide it and didn’t want to.

“That was a great game tonight — one of the best that I’ve been to in a long time,” Ava said, as she was obviously trying to get a conversation going.

“Yeah, it was pretty wild, but John got it done for us tonight,” Brad said.

  “Here’s to John!” Marc said.

Everyone raised up their drinks, but I barely raised mine as I forced a smile at John as I touched my cup with his; he smiled back, but his smile didn’t seem that sincere since I knew that he still had a hang-up of me ending our secret relationship despite what we did last night — he was trying very hard not to show it.

“So is everyone looking forward to DNA Day on Monday?” Ken asked.

DNA Day was a day that was scheduled for Monday. It was a day where every student and staff member at our school had to give a DNA sample of their blood, saliva, and hair so it could be put on file at the labs and in police databases just in case something happened to one of us. Principal Winston said that our school was the first school that was gonna have a DNA Day.

“Yeah, sure, I am,” Ava sarcastically replied. “I can’t wait to give my deoxyribonucleic acid. I’m really looking forward to getting hair plucked out of my already-sensitive scalp, saliva swabbed from the inside of my mouth, a painful needle poked into my arm to draw blood, and my fingers pressed into some impossible-to-get-off-of-my-fingers black ink for my fingerprints.”

Everyone laughed as I smiled at her.

“Well, I organized the day because it’s just reality. It’s like giving fingerprints when we were kids just in case we came up missing or something, but those who haven’t given their fingerprints yet like Ava will have to give those as well. No other high school has done this, either, so we’re definitely starting something here. It won’t take that long for everyone to give their samples, and I’m sure it’s not gonna hurt that much, Ava,” Brad said with a grin.

“Speak for yourself, Brad,” Ava replied with a grin.

  Everyone laughed.

Once again, I smiled as I tried not to show upset I was that Lisa was all over Brad. I felt like she was doing this on purpose just to make me mad, and I started to wonder if she did know something about Brad and me but she just wasn’t saying anything.

Suddenly, I felt a hand slowly touch my right leg! I couldn’t believe it! John was touching me in a sexual way! I looked at him as I tried very hard not to show how shocked I was as he slowly ran his hand up and down my thigh. He looked straight ahead as if he was just watching everyone dance. I wanted to break his hand, but I didn’t wanna jump up and say anything. I slowly pushed his hand away from my leg; he put his hand on mine as if he was trying to calm me down. I looked up and saw Brad looking at me — it seemed as though he knew what was going on, but I knew he didn’t. John then moved his hand slowly down my leg and started touching my inner thigh. I knew he was trying to go for my crotch area just like he did last night, so I smacked his hand away. I looked up at Brad . . . and he was kissing Lisa; I rolled my eyes. “I need to use the bathroom,” I told Ava.

Ava scooted out of the booth to let me out.

“I need to tell you something so come with me,” I told her while I looked back at John as he stared right back at me.

  We walked towards the bathroom.

  “What is it?” she asked.

“John was touching my fuckin’ leg, Ava!”

  “Are you fuckin’ serious, Vanessa?”

“Yes! I mean, what the fuck?! He was running his hand all up and down my thigh and then tried to go between my fuckin’ legs?! I smacked his fuckin’ hand away, then!”

She laughed. “I don’t blame you, Vanessa! Damn, he’s fuckin’ bold as hell! With Brad sitting there, too?!”

“It took everything out of me not to jump up and yell at him, but I didn’t wanna upset Brad, especially since he’s here with Lisa. I think John is doing this because he wants to start up this relationship again even though I ended it with him yesterday, and I especially think it after what happened last night with us.”

“I think so, too. Remember, he doesn’t know a thing about you and Brad. Didn’t you say that he asked you if you still wanted to fool around with him from time to time?”

“Yeah, he did say that, and it’s obvious that he wanted to put that to the ultimate test last night by making me have sex with him to prove to him that I didn’t end our secret relationship just to be in one with someone else. Damn, Ava, I can’t believe I had sex with him last night. I know that Brad isn’t my boyfriend, but I felt like I cheated on him even though he’s with Lisa — but Lisa’s his girlfriend, I’m not, and don’t know if I’ll ever be. Damn, what the hell did I get myself into, Ava?”

She gave me a blank stare.

“Damn! I’m just so fuckin’ confused right now. I’m so upset that Brad is here with Lisa. I just need to get control of myself. Around this time last week, I was involved in a secret relationship with John that was purely sexual and it lasted for a few months, and now I’m caught up in this erotic, whirlwind romance with Brad, and it’s also a secret one because he’s with Lisa. And then, John forced me to have sex with him last night, and this was hours after I ended our secret relationship so now I already have a secret that I’m keeping from Brad. I just don’t know how long I’m gonna be able to keep it a secret that I’m seeing him now. And I can’t help but to think that Lisa knows something.”

“Maybe it’s just a coincidence that she’s here with him tonight. I think if she knew something, Vanessa, she would’ve confronted you.”

I sighed — I still wasn’t sure. “Let’s get back to the table. You sit next to John.”

  She laughed. “Okay, I will.”

We walked back to the table. I sat down at the end, and Ava sat next to John — and he looked at me and smirked since he knew exactly why I didn’t wanna sit right next to him anymore. Then, I locked eyes with Brad — he smiled at me; I barely smiled back, so he knew that I was upset about him bringing Lisa here. I looked at Lisa and noticed that she was looking at my earrings, and I started to think that she knew that Brad had bought them for me.

“I like your earrings, Vanessa,” Lisa said with a smile.

“Thanks,” I replied with a smile.

Brad smiled; Ava and Marc grinned.

“Where did you get them from?” Lisa asked.

  Everyone looked at me.

“From a jewelry store online,” I replied.

  “Are they platinum?” Lisa asked.

  “Yeah, they are,” I replied.

“Wow, I bet those were expensive,” Lisa said with a smile as she kept looking at me.

I felt very uncomfortable. I was almost convinced now that she knew that Brad had bought them for me. I opened my purse that I carried here last night and fumbled through it as I tried to look for my compact mirror and face blotters since I could feel sweat b
eading up on my face. I pulled out both items along with my black lace G-string panties from last night!

Everyone at the table stared at the panties and then stared at me as my face was flushed in total embarrassment! I didn’t know what to say as I glanced at Brad as he grinned at me, and then at John as he really grinned at me.

“Damn, Vanessa! Those are hot! Did you bring those to turn all of us single men on?” Marc jokingly asked.

  Everyone laughed.

  “Um . . . no . . . I . . . I’m embarrassed! Shit!” I said, and quickly left the table.

Ava followed me. “Vanessa, it’s okay. It’s obvious that you forgot to take them out of your purse last night. Hell, you know I told you the many times I came home with my panties in my purse or backpack after having sex at some guy’s house!”

“Yeah, you did, but you didn’t pull out a worn pair at a fuckin’ table in front of people on an accident! Shit, Ava! I forgot that they were in here! And they would’ve never been in here if John didn’t force me to fuck him in his car last night, and when we were done I was in such a rush to get back home that I just put on my jeans and stuffed them in my purse! Fuck, I’m so embarrassed! I don’t wanna go back over there.”

“Oh, come on, Vanessa! Everyone thought it was funny and knows that it can happen to any one of us girls. Marc thought they were sexy!”

I grinned. “Yeah, Marc thinks a lot of things are sexy, including you. Too bad he didn’t think Natalie was that sexy since he broke up with her several months ago.”

“Hey, I had nothing to do with their breakup!” she said with a chuckle.

“I know you didn’t,” I replied with a smile. I let out a sigh. “Well, let’s go back over there. I don’t want it to look like I was so embarrassed that I didn’t wanna come back to the table.”

“That’s my girl!” she said. She put her arm around me as we walked back to the table.

Everyone stared at me as I sat back down. I could see Brad and John looking at me but I couldn’t get myself to look at either one of them because I knew what they were thinking — was I with one of them that led me to stuff my panties in my purse because they both saw that I was wearing them last night.

The tension was all of the sudden interrupted by John’s coughing. Everyone looked at him.

“Are you okay, man?” Marc asked.

“Yeah, I’m fine. It’s just a little cold,” John replied.

“Well, don’t breathe on me!” Ava said with a laugh.

  Everyone laughed.

A popular song came on and almost everyone went out to the dance floor.

  “Wanna dance?” Marc asked Ava.

  “Sure!” Ava replied.

They scooted out of the booth and went out to the dance floor along with Brad and Lisa.

This left only John, Ken, and me sitting at the table.

Ken spotted a guy that went to our school. “There’s Evan — I’m gonna go talk to him,” he let us know.

  “Okay, man,” John replied.

I nodded with a smile as Ken got up and left the table. Now, I was all alone with John, and I felt very uncomfortable.

John looked at me with a grin. “So, it’s just us here.”

“Yeah,” I replied, and then sipped my drink, now wishing it had alcohol in it.

“I see you forgot to put your panties back on last night,” he said with a grin.

“Don’t start, John — not here. And I wouldn’t have had to take them off at all if you didn’t practically force me into fucking you. You knew I told you I was tired and you didn’t care.”

He grinned. “You didn’t seem so tired once we started having sex. Wanna dance?” he asked with even more of a grin.

I looked at him — I really didn’t want to. I looked around to see where Brad was and saw him up on the stage dancing the night away with Lisa just like how he was dancing with me no more than twenty-four hours ago, as he was in back of her holding her and kissing her on her neck as she laughed and smiled — I wanted to go up on that stage and push them both off of it. “I don’t feel like it,” I coldly replied.

“C’mon, Vanessa. Look, I’m sorry about feeling up your leg, okay? I know I caught you off-guard when I did that. I like this song. I won’t try anything with you out there.”

  I sighed. “Okay.”

We got up and went out to the floor.

While we were dancing, I tried to keep my eyes on Brad. He seemed to have forgotten all about me, and just to think that I was the reason why he came here to begin with, and he had the nerve to bring Lisa. Was he trying to tell me something? That he had no intentions on ending their relationship? I didn’t wanna start believing that it was a mistake that I chose to stay in a secret relationship with him instead of with John . . . but I was starting to believe it.

John looked at me with a smile as I kept looking up at Brad and Lisa. “What are you looking at?”

I looked at him. “Nothing,” I lied.

He gave me that I-don’t-believe-you look. He then came closer to me and held me; I got an uneasy feeling. “You wanna get together tonight after we leave here? You know, and finish what we started in my car last night since you said you were tired?”

I looked up at Brad as he stared right back at me. I looked at John. “No, that won’t be a good idea.”

“And why not? Were you lying to me last night about not seeing someone else? And if you are seeing someone, is he here?” he asked, and then looked around.

“John, I’m not seeing anyone else; I told you the truth last night,” I lied while I stared up at Brad; he continued to stare down at me. I looked at John. “I’m not feeling that well, and you said that you have a cold so I know I’m gonna have to take something when I get home so I don’t catch it from you.”

He chuckled. “You’re right. But what’s wrong with you? Still upset about ending our secret relationship or upset about last night?”

“I’m sorry I ended it, but you should be happy that I did because now you can openly see who you want. There’s a lot of pretty girls here tonight if you haven’t noticed.”

He looked around the club as he nodded while still holding me very close to him. “There are, but looks aren’t everything.”

I nodded with a smile. I looked at Brad and he was still staring at me as he danced with Lisa. “And as for last night, I am upset about that because I was very tired and you should’ve respected that instead of wanting some pussy so bad.”

He grinned. “Hey, I’m a man, what can I say?”

I shook my head as I continued to stare at Brad as he continued to stare down at me while John and I danced. I looked away from him and right into John’s eyes. I started to get an uneasy feeling as I danced with him. I wanted to ask him about those secret texts that I’d been receiving, because it was a fact that if someone wanted to know the truth about something from someone, the best thing to do was confront them face-to-face about it so you could see their reaction. I started to believe more and more that it was John who was sending these. I started to breathe heavy as my stare turned into a cold, hard glare.

He gave me a confused look. “Why are you looking at me like that all of the sudden?”

I let out a sigh. “John, look. I know you’re still upset about me ending our secret relationship, but I want you to knock this shit off,” I told him.

He now gave me a very confused look. “What?! Knock what shit off, Vanessa? What the hell are you talking about?”

“John! You know damn well what I’m talking about! If you’re trying to do this to make me go crazy then it’s working because I am going crazy over it and I just don’t know how much more I’m gonna be able to take, okay?! So just knock this shit off!” I yelled.

He grinned big! “Did I miss something, here? I don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about, Vanessa.”

“Yes you do! Stop sending me those fuckin’ text messages under that unknown sender name! I’m sick of you stalking me and thinking that I’m seeing som
eone else and assuming that I’m fucking Brad now! Just knock it off!!”

“Are you fucking Brad now?” he asked with a mischievous grin.

“NO!” I lied, and stormed off the dance floor and went towards the bathroom.

  “VANESSA!” Ava shouted.

I turned around as she caught up to me. I tried to choke back tears. “Hey. I just confronted John about those secret texts.”

She gasped! “You did?! I thought you said you didn’t think that he was the one that was sending them to you?”

“I did think that at first, but when he forced me to do what we did last night, I started to believe it more and more that he’s the one that’s been sending them, so I confronted him.”

  “And what did he say?”

“He didn’t say that it was him — but he didn’t deny it, either. I was screaming at him — as you saw out on the dance floor — and told him to stop stalking me and that I was not seeing anyone else and to stop assuming that I was fucking Brad now, and he asked me was I fucking him now — I lied and said no and stormed off the floor, as you saw.” I let out a sigh. “But I just don’t know now if it’s him that’s sending me these texts, but like I said before, he didn’t deny that it was him.”

“If he didn’t deny it then it could very well be him, Vanessa. I don’t think he’ll ever admit it to you that it is him. I think he’s still upset about you ending the secret relationship with him.”

“He told me that he was upset about it last night, but he said he was over it. But I think you’re right, I don’t think he’s over it.”

  “Neither do I,” she said.

I looked around and saw Brad headed our way. “Here comes Brad.”

“I’ll let the two of you talk. I’ll go back to the table to see if I can get any other info out of John about those texts.”

  “Okay,” I replied.

Brad approached me. “What’s up with you and John?”

“Nothing is up with us, Brad.”

“Well, it sure as hell didn’t look that way when the two of you were dancing out there – even Lisa noticed it and asked me about you two. You two didn’t decide to start seeing each other again, did you?”
