Gifted with Hydrangea Page 16

Heath made himself comfortable in Enzo’s lap as he held his cell up to his ear. It rang a couple of times before Ryker answered.

“Hey wolfman, whatchya need?” Ryker’s cheerful voice brought a smile to Enzo’s face.

“Gale just called and said Sea is recovering and should be home in about another week.” He paused as he heard Ryker breathe out a relieved sigh.

“Alphy is also doing really good and will be home in a few days,” Enzo finished.

  “Thanks, Enzo.”

After their call was ended, Enzo called Gale back up.

“Hi, Enzo. What’s up?” Gale asked. “I just talked to you like ten minutes ago.”

“I know, but something’s come up. Is Alphy able to talk right now?”

“Sure, hold on and I’ll have one of the techs take him the phone.”

After a minute, he heard Alphy’s voice come over the line. “Enzo, it’s good to hear from you. You never call, never write…”

Enzo laughed and was joined by Alphy.

“Gale told me the good news. How’re you feeling?”

“Not bad. They moved me beside the wall of the tent where Gale is on the other side. I heard your conversation. I’ll tell you my secret … to handle Kace, just threaten him with community service with Seamus. If that doesn’t work, get creative.”

Enzo laughed out loud. After a moment, he sobered up. “I hate to change this subject to one less pleasant, but I think you need to hear something I just heard. It could be serious, and not to be taken lightly.”

Enzo swiveled his chair around, and looked out the window as he detailed what he had just heard.

“I’ll get a hold of Raymond, and see what information he can share with me. I’ll call you back,” Alphy told him, then disconnected.

As Enzo continued to look out at the worsening weather, he couldn’t help feeling something big and bad was going to happen. He mentally complained, I hate mysteries. Then he looked up at his mate, who happily curled up in his arms, and looked out the window with him. Although, I rather enjoyed the last one.

Kace wasn’t too into the woman whom he was currently kissing and groping, but he was so desperate for release, to help him relax after all the shit he’d been dealing with, that Kace agreed to be this little blonde’s sexy toy for the night. He had her pinned against the wall of the short hallway that led to this bar’s bathrooms. Her ample breasts squished against his chest, and his hands were squeezing her ass. Her hands squeezed between them and cupped his growing bulge, rubbing it.

She gave an attempted sexy twitter. “My, you cowboys really have a lot to ride.”

Kace refrained from rolling his eyes. He was a southern boy, not a cowboy, but he was often mistaken otherwise. He just smiled politely at her. “Why thank you, ma’am.”

Suddenly, another scent made its way to his senses and had his dick filling to its painful max. Oh shit! He thought. Before he could turn to look for the source, the girl groping him giggled.

“Oh, I think you like that. I’m going to enjoy riding this big bad bull.”

Kace tried to push her away to look for that delicious and arousing scent, when he noticed a woman waiting at the end of the hall. Kace nearly swallowed his tongue. Not only was she the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, her look nearly had him cringe.

Mate! Kace’s wolf howled in his mind.

Shit, he inwardly cursed, this isn’t how I thought I would meet her. Fuck you very much, karma. As the woman stormed by them, he could only hope he would be able to claim her sometime this century.
