“I need to catch up with Diel’s news.”

“Bien, I’ll tell Lily she cannot avoid my amorous needs any longer,” he says and winks at me before he leaves the room.

“Great, now we will have to hear ‘Oh, Bast,’ ‘ma cherie’ over and over,” Aidan complains but with a smile.

“They’ve gotten better, surely,” I say.

A loud squeal is heard from down the hall.

“Nope, not even a little bit,” Aidan says.

  Diel is smiling.

“What are you smiling about?” I ask him.

  “Just reminiscing.”

I throw a pillow at him and he quickly ducks.

“You are the one who got me in this position, Sidiel. I would watch my step if I were you,” I growl.

“That’s my cue to leave,” Aidan says and he walks out of the room, shutting the door behind him.

“Ahh, alone at last. And you can’t run away from me,” Diel says.

“What did you have planned,” I ask – leery – remembering Dr. Hildebrand’s instructions.

“Not what you think. I asked Aidan to get me some of that shea butter lotion you like. The kind with frankincense and myrrh in it. I was thinking of a massage?”

“Mmm… that sounds heavenly. Then you can tell more of what it will mean to appear in front of this magistrate. And you can tell me exactly how much hidden treasure you do have.”

Diel laughs on his way to get the lotion.

  CHAPTER 10 . LILITH

Sebastian pounces on me the moment he comes in the room. I mean literally pounces on me. I know the others could hear me scream. He scared the pants off me. Well, not so literally but they are soon off, along with my blouse. He leaves the heels on.

Soon we are in the huge marble bath built for four. Our love making is sweet and short for a change. Sebastian is rubbing my feet and it is delicious.

“You know we will both have to feed soon. Fancy a demon?” he asks, wiggling his eyebrows. I splash water at him and giggle at his shock.

“I could go for a demon. It’s not human after all. Maybe we should hunt tonight. It’s only two days early and we just don’t know what the next week will hold with Hannah ready to deliver at any moment.”

“Sounds good to me. I think you’re right. I don’t think she is going to make the two weeks the doctor is hoping for. Little Sebastian will be tiny at first.”

  “Little Sebastian?”

“I haven’t broached the topic with them yet but with you and Aidan being the godparents you would think they could throw me a first name. I’d settle for middle name if they insist.”

  “Arrogant much?”

  “Yes, and proud of it.”

  “You’re my arrogant vampire.”

“Yes, yours. Every inch of my body and soul.” His words do something to me. Suddenly we are all serious.

“Sebastian, I’m all yours too. Don’t ever forget that.” I move so that he has to let go of my foot and so I can join him at the other end of the tub. I sit right next to him. Skin on skin and sigh. “Could I be any more in love with you?”

“I hope so, because I love you more every day, ma cherie.”

  “Me too, Bast.”

This time we make love slowly, letting our bodies say what we tried to put into words. Afterwards, we get dressed to hunt. Me in a low necked dress with a slit up my leg. Sebastian dons a v-neck sweater that shows a hint of hair and chest. Worn jeans completes his ensemble. He looks hot!

“Lily, ma cherie, you look amazing in this dress. I can’t wait to get you out of it later.”

“Haven’t you had enough, you animal?”

“Lily, ma petite, I could never have enough of you. A lifetime together will not be long enough,” he says next to my ear and then nips it. Everything south of the border jumps to attention.

“Sebastian,” I pant. “Stop or we’ll never feed.”

“Hmmm… a delicious thought but you’re right we need to hunt.” With that he takes my hand and pulls me from the room. He has to support me since my legs have turned to Jell-o.

Aidan had summoned a sports car for us. We left the house after telling Julian and Helena what we were going to do. They are going to go hunt after we come back. Everyone being in agreement that Hannah may go into labor early.

Sebastian turns on the GPS and puts in the address of a nightclub called, Sin. We took off down the drive and make a left at the end. It takes us fifteen minutes to get to Sin but it is worth it. Valet parking takes our keys and Sebastian leads me into the club, circumnavigating the line. At the door he merely hands the demon his card and a hundred dollars and we are let in. I see the demon talk into his sleeve.

The club is painted black and has black lights. The floor is black and white checkered so it glows. My dress was a midnight blue but because I am so pale I shine like a glow stick. Sebastian isn’t much better. We go straight to the bar and order drinks. While sipping my daiquiri I also size up the options. There is a couple at a table looking at us as well. The man beckons me to them so I slip my hand in Sebastian’s elbow and bring him along.

The two demons look ordinary enough, except for the female’s tiny horns and the male’s tail. They ask us if we want to dance and we accept. I eave with the male and Sebastian with the female.

Once we get on the dance floor I light up again. The bar had recessed lighting.

“My name is Lionel. What’s yours?”

“Lily,” I shout over the music.

“Please don’t be offended but you are all shiny and beautiful. Are you a vampire?”

  “Yes, does that bother you?”

“I think it’s hot. I would love to be your dinner and more. I’ve heard you can make your bite very pleasurable,” Lionel says close to my ear.

I can feel his extra hot breath against my skin and it makes me want to wretch. I glance towards Sebastian and he is having a hard time keeping the female off him. Her hands are everywhere.

“Let’s take this to a private room, shall we?” He nods to his wife and she grabs Sebastian’s hand and follows her mate. Lionel leads us to the back of the club and into the VIP section. There are many tables with a smaller dance floor. The lights are normal incandescent and with relief, I have stopped glowing. At a nod from Lionel, an employee immediately shows us to a nondescript door and opens it.

There are two huge couches. They are beautifully tapestried. The main theme of the print is mythical creatures: unicorns, griffins and fairies. Lionel pulls me into his arm and we tumble to one of the couches.

“Darling, Lily has agreed to snack on me and make it a most pleasurable occurrence. Maybe you should ask your handsome treat the same?”

“Mmm… Sebastian what do you say? I’ve never been dinner before,” she says and giggles.

“Sounds lovely,” Sebastian says, giving her a smoldering look. She squirms in her seat on the other couch.

  “Join me?” she asks Sebastian.

  “With pleasure.”

Sebastian takes the lead and murmurs in her ear. She inhales sharply and then Bast strikes. Soon the female is moaning in pleasure.

Lionel looks at me and kisses my neck or at least tries to. I quickly maneuver him so that I am at his neck. I wipe him down with a handi-wipe first. He gives me a strange look.

“Hold on, Lionel, this is going to be a wild ride,” I whisper. He gasps and nods.

I take a firm grip on his head and turn his neck, then I make my move, fast. He tastes spicy but in a good way. I unleash my glamor and the pheromones that will make it feel good for him, giving him a higher dose than usual, fulfilling my promise.

He starts to moan and rub against me. Euuw… I think I put too much mojo into it. Sebastian finishes seconds before me. He shakes his head and grins at me. The female is all over him along with Lionel being all over me.

I take Lionel by the hand and lead him over to his partner in crime. They immediately fall upon each other. It’s a bit like watching a dirty movie,
which disgusts me. That’s when I smell the alcohol. The female is totally wasted and Sebastian just drank from her.

He tries to extricate himself from Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee. They keep pulling him back in until I interfere and bring him up and against me hard. The demons don’t even notice. Sebastian, on the other hand, is buoyant to put it mildly. He starts laughing.

I take his hand and lead him from the room. He is stumbling and trying to grab my ass at the same time.

“Lily, you are sooooo beautiful, cherie.”

“Thank you, Bast. You’re pretty beautiful too.”

  “No, not beautiful, handsome.”

“I’m sorry, you’re handsome, gorgeous and mine. Can you walk to the car or should I carry you?”

He seems to be thinking about it when I see Dominic, Mark’s brother, across the room. He hasn’t seen us yet so I grab Bast and haul him out to the car. He is stumbling and half falling as we go. Dominic is still upset about me killing his twin brother. Some people are so touchy. It didn’t help that Diel got him banished to Hell.

I fold Sebastian into the small sports car. Thank goodness I know the address of Hannah and Diel’s home so I can put it into GPS or I would be lost. I lean over and buckle him in. He captures my face and gives me a long, wicked kiss that has me ready to speed home.

“Gods, Lily, I love you,” he mumbles between kisses.

“I love you, too, Bast. But I have to drive safely so you are going to have to behave. Okay?”

“Yesth… behave.” He slaps his hand as it is reaching over to me. I bite my lip in an attempt to hold back a laugh.

I start the car up and rush home as fast as I can without getting a speeding ticket. Sebastian’s head lolls from side to side as we go around corners.

I sigh in relief when we get to the long drive to Han and Diel’s new home. It’s so much bigger than Hannah’s craftsman house top side but the way it’s settled in the trees and its surroundings fit them. By the time we get to the door, Helena and Julian are there waiting for us. They heard Sebastian singing old French revolution songs at the top of his lungs.

“What happened to him?” Julian asks trying hard not to laugh but failing.

“His demon was flying high. He must have thought he could handle it but I think they drink pure octane down here. He can barely walk, hence me supporting him.”

“Poor darling,” Helena says as she brushes his hair from his face.

  “Poor me, he’s a mess,” I say.

Aidan joins us in the foyer.

“The gods, I am never going to let him forget this,” Aidan says choking on his laughter. Then he starts singing with Sebastian. Encouraging him. Bastard.

“Thanks for the help, Aidan. I’m going to put him to bed now,” I say sarcastically.

“Aidan, you’re a good man,” Sebastian slurs.

Aidan just doubles his laughter. Once a Djinn always a Djinn. He loves the flavor of humor in the air and I’m glad he can find some sustenance, he’s been looking gaunt with his searching for Manda.

Julian pats Bast on the back as I help escort him up the stairs and to our room. When we get there, Bast starts to undress, singing a love song, in French. All I pick up is couchez avec moi. Even I know what that means. I hate to tell him that I don’t know if he can in this state.

He falls over when he gets to his jeans and finally I am laughing. I go to him to help and he pulls me down on the floor on top of him. Then he is running his fingers through my hair.

“I thought I would have to kill that demon tonight for touching you,” he whispers and then starts to kiss me, nipping and sucking my lips and my neck. Soon I am kissing him back.

He seems to be sobering up. Slowly but surely. Is it a crime to take advantage of your fiancé while he is drunk? I guess I am going to find out because Bast is finally out of his clothes and is unzipping my dress. Even drunk his hands are magick and his tongue oh Goddess.

I help him by getting on top. Hell, I just wanted to take him.

Afterwards we lay in a pile of panting vampire. Oh man. I love him so much. He is completely sober now.

“How do you feel?” I ask him.

“Do you really have to ask? Should I show you again?” he says with a gleam in his eyes.

“Silly vampire, I meant are you quite sober now?”

“Yes, you seem to have the hangover solution too.”

“I’ll keep that in mind for next time, sex you into sobriety.”

“In that case, there will be a lot of next times.”

I laugh and kiss him on the forehead.

“Can we get off the floor now?” I ask.

“Oui, ma cherie. Let’s take a shower first and then go visit Hannah.”

“Sounds good, I want to wash that Lionel’s scent off me.”

“That fucker is lucky. I should have punched him at the minimum.”

“Maybe we shouldn’t hunt together while down here. By the way, did you see Dominic in the club?”

  “What?! Did he see you?”

“No, I got us out of there before he could see us. I thought that the prudent solution.”

“Yes, I’m sorry, ma petite, I should have realized I would get inebriated. She didn’t seem that drunk though.”

“I think it’s what they drink. She must have been guzzling gasoline,” I say sympathetically and pat him on the chest.

“It won’t happen again, I promise you,”

“I kinda liked the side effects.” I wink at him. He growls.

“I don’t think I am completely sober. I think I need another dose of your beautiful body to be sure.”

He chases me into the shower and shows me what he means. Vampires are insatiable and Sebastian must be the most insatiable vampire ever.

We knock on Hannah and Diel’s door to say goodnight.

  “Come in,” Hannah says.

“How are you, ma petite mamman?” Sebastian asks as he kisses both her cheeks.

“I’m doing fine. The baby is kicking up a storm and Diel is reading to me.” She smiles sweetly at her mate.

“We’re reading the Kama Sutra. Lots of pictures,” Diel says as he wiggles his eyebrows.

“That’s terrible. Getting all hot and bothered and not be able to do anything about it,” I say.

“It’s all about anticipation,” Diel says and kisses his wife’s head.

Sebastian laughs and asks for the book. He peruses, mentioning the ones he’s tried. It’s embarrassing. I pretend he isn’t there and chat with Hannah and Diel.

“Heard you come home and the after effects,” Hannah says and grins.

“Yes, we went hunting. Sebastian miscalculated his dinner’s blood alcohol level. We also saw Dominic, Diel.”

“Shit, what did he do?” Diel looks truly worried.

“He didn’t see us. I just thought you should know,” I say.

“Thanks. Technically he is not doing anything wrong. So as long as he stays away from you I can’t do anything. It’s best if you don’t run into him again.”

“What could he do?” Hannah asks.

“He could cause a lot of trouble. Especially since his dad is the mayor. We need to stay under the radar right now with this hearing happening. By the way, I heard from my lawyers, Sebastian and Lily. The hearing is here tomorrow.”

“Merde. What can we do to help?”

“Stand up for Hannah and me. We will need a host of witnesses because I heard my parents have several. They are bringing up the fact that Hannah has killed two Demons.”

  “Shit,” I say.

“Quite,” Hannah replies. “It was self-defense and Diel’s lawyers have been aware of everything from the beginning. So no surprises for them. They know I was kidnapped and that his parents orchestrated the entire thing.”

“It should be an easy case, but there is always some worry when a vampire has killed a demon. There are a lot of biases,” Diel says.

“What time does this occur tomorrow?” I ask.

&
nbsp; “An hour after Hannah wakes up,” Diel answers. He takes Hannah’s hand and squeezes it.

“We’ll be ready. Does Aidan know? I think he went back to Italy to keep searching tonight,” I say.

“Yes, he does. He promised to be back in plenty of time,” Hannah says.

“Let’s pray to the Goddess everything goes well,” I say. I have a funny tingling in my tummy about this. I’ve killed a demon too.

  CHAPTER 11 . DIEL

Lily is awake which means Hannah will be up in another two hours. The house is clean from top to bottom thanks to a spell from Helena. We have rearranged the biggest room on the first floor. Several chairs are set up for the magistrate, the recorder, and bailiff. The rest of the chairs are arranged like a courtroom with a big soft chair and ottoman for Hannah.

Helena is baking treats and we have plenty of refreshments on hand. I don’t know the protocol for hosting a hearing. I want to be ready for anything. Julian and I take Hades on a long walk to discuss strategy – though I’ve been over it with my lawyers a dozen times.

“I’ve researched Demon law as much as I can since your parents made their announcement. They do have a small chance because of Hannah killing Josephine and Brandon. The crux will be establishing that it was self-defense,” Julian explains to me.

“We can count my parents out for being honest about the situation. But we do have Aidan as a witness. He was injured in the melee so hopefully his testimony will carry more weight. I also have some clout. I’m hoping that I have more than my parents since they are retired and have given up their titles.”

“I agree. This is all in your favor. I just want you to know what you are dealing with. Besides, they will be won over by Hannah’s sweet disposition, or at least Helena’s cookies.”

We laugh knowing Hannah can be anything but sweet, especially if the baby is threatened.

“Yes, the trick will being able to keep Hannah calm. I can’t expect my parents to be. They feel entitled to act anyway they want to. It makes me sick,” I grumble. Scenarios flash through my head and none of them are good.

“Then we’ll rely on the cookies,” Julian says with a grin.
