Luna laughed softly. “I thought that was just in the bedroom.”
I pulled back to meet her eyes, surprised that she thought that. Did she truly believe that? I thought I’d made myself pretty fucking clear that I’d claimed her ass. She was beautiful, her complexion flushed with warmth, eyes glazed with arousal and her lips swollen by our kiss. “Is that what you think, baby? That you only belong to me in the bedroom?”
She shrugged slightly, confusion flickering in her eyes. “When you said I was yours I thought it was just something you said in the heat of the moment.”
Her words made me angry as fuck, but I managed to hold it back. “Let me tell you something, Luna--I don’t say shit that I don’t mean. Ever. You’re mine. I claimed you in the bedroom. I’ll claim you here for the whole fucking club to see,” I growled seriously. I ran my tongue up the side of her neck, where I paused to nibble behind her ear. I continued to palm and squeeze her tits until they were swollen and hot in my hands.
Luna caught her breath when I pinched her nipples, her soft cry driving me to lift up her shirt so my mouth could take over. Christ, her flesh was warm and pliant, and I had to see if the taste of her was as good as her scent suggested. I sucked her tits into my mouth, using my teeth to tease her nipples until she was twisting and arching against me. I ground my dick against her, so ready to blow that it was a miracle that I hadn’t yet. I wanted her. Right up against the fucking wall. I lowered my hand to the front of her shorts and slowly worked the button through the hole before lazily lowering her zipper. She was breathing hard by the time they were undone and opened.
“Jace…”
Her husky plea drew my gaze to her flushed, lovely face. The fire in her eyes threatened to burn me. Her nostrils were flaring like a wild filly scenting her mate. That sexy bottom lip was pulled between her teeth at the corner. I leaned forward and took it between my teeth, biting down on it and then pulling back and releasing it slowly. She sucked in her breath. I didn’t waste time thinking, I just acted on need and instinct. I flipped Luna around until she was facing the wall. I caught her wrists and dragged her arms above her head, pinning them against the hard surface.
“Don’t move,” I warned her softly, reaching down to undo my pants. “I’m going to fuck you, baby.”
“Jace . . .” I ignored the slight reservation that I heard in her tone, knowing the reason for it. But she would soon learn that when I wanted her, I was going to have her, no matter where we were. We were in a dimly lit hallway that led to the brothers’ rooms, and right now they were all out partying with their old ladies or spending time with their families in the civilian room on the other side of the bar. I didn’t necessarily want to put on a show for someone, but it wouldn’t keep me from performing if a brother walked by.
I kissed the back of Luna’s ear. Her breathing and the movements of her body revealed that she wanted this as much as I did. I worked her shorts down to her knees and then pushed my jeans down until my dick was free. It sprang from my pants like a heat seeking missile, aiming for that perfect landing. I kicked her legs apart at the ankles and jerked her hips back so that her pretty ass was arched my way. I reached between our bodies to find her pussy lips swollen and soaked. Growling, I didn’t waste any time lining up my dick and thrusting forward. Holy Christ, sinking into her wet heat was like coming home. She lovingly clenched around my dick, sucking it deep inside her body and holding tight.
“Oh, God!” she gasped weakly.
“So fucking good,” I whispered into her ear, closing my teeth down at the crease between her neck and shoulder. Soon after, I was kissing the abused skin. “You feel how hard you make me?” I remained seated, letting my dick pulse, surrounded by her soft, swollen heat. “Fucking tight, baby.” I pulled out just enough to keep my head inside, and then plowed back in with a grunt. “You want it slow and easy, or fast and hard?”
“Fast…and…hard,” she said between pants.
I grinned, suspecting that she was worried about getting caught. Fast and hard was fucking fine by me. I’d learned early on that Luna could take it any way I gave it to her. I fucked Luna fast and hard, gripping her hips with bruising force, hearing the sound of our wet bodies connecting each time I sank inside her wet body. Heaven, pure fucking heaven. I could feel her walls swelling around my dick, and when she clenched it felt like a tight fist squeezing around me. I reached around to her pussy, finding her pea-sized clit hard as a fucking rock. I was about to lose my load, but I was determined that Luna come first.
I flicked the bud as I would her nipple, catching her whimper as she quivered wildly against me. “Come for me, baby,” I demanded against her ear, plowing into her ruthlessly. “I want your cum on my dick.” She moaned as I began to work her clit harder. Fuck, she was dripping cream, and I gathered up some on my fingers and brought it up to her lips. “Taste yourself, Luna.”
She opened her mouth and drew my fingers inside, sucking my fingers clean. I groaned, taking in the scent of her arousal, wanting a taste. I grabbed her by the hair and pulled her head in a position where I could get to her lips. “Give me a fucking taste,” I growled, slamming my mouth down on hers. Sweet Jesus, it was better than anything I’d ever tasted. I thrust my tongue inside her mouth like a greedy fuck.
She turned her face away, “Jace…I’m coming!” she cried out.
I reached for her clit again, giving it a pinch to intensify her pleasure. I thrust rough and fast into her, feeling her body clench down on my dick as she convulsed. My balls drew up tight against my body and I came like a fucking geyser, flooding the inside of her pussy with my seed. I grunted with each rope of semen that spewed from the head of my dick, holding myself tight to Luna so that she got every bit. It fucking turned me on to know my seed was deep inside her. We twitched and jerked against each other until we gradually calmed and relaxed in blissful exhaustion.
That’s when I was reminded of where we were, and realized that we’d been lucky not to get caught.
I reluctantly pulled out of Luna and reached for my pants. “Christ, baby, you drain me dry,” I breathed heavily, doing up my zipper.
“I can’t move,” she laughed softly, still breathing hard.
I pulled her shorts up and gently turned her around. My eyes remained on hers as I did them up without looking. I liked the look on her--dreamy, half-closed eyes glazed with satisfaction, her pretty complexion slightly flushed with a rosy heat, lips swollen from my kisses. She made me want her all over again.
“Fuck, brother, we’ve been looking for you.”
I turned to see Puck at the hallway entrance. Something about his expression and the urgency behind his words sent up warning flags.
His gaze flickered to Luna before coming back to me. It was clear that he wasn’t sure if he should speak in front of her. “Need you,” he finally settled on.
I gave Luna a brief kiss and followed him.
It was bad news.
As bad as it got.
Roy, Dober, and Tiger had been attacked on their way to the club.
They were dead.
Chapter 24
Luna
The atmosphere of the clubhouse had been quiet and gloomy since news of Roy, Dober, and Tiger’s unexpected deaths had gotten around. The specifics weren’t shared with anyone other than their brothers. All we were told was that they’d lost control of their vehicle and had gone off the side of a cliff. Shocked murmurs had sounded out when the announcement had been made, but not before they’d taken Reba aside and quietly told her that Tiger was gone. Her wail of grief had echoed through the building, causing a chill of doom to travel over me. Deep down I sensed that there was more to their accident than what we were being told. The taut, jaw clenched expressions on the men’s faces revealed more than grief for their fallen brothers.
Why else would most of the men left the clubhouse right after the accident looking ferocious with determination, as if they were riding into battle?
And why had they returne
d bone weary, broken, and bloody, while carrying an air of vindication about them?
They’d stomped right through the room and gone directly into the meeting room. Jace had explained that they held what was called “church” in there, where they discussed club business. Women weren’t allowed, and only patched-in members had the privilege of attending. Jace had met my gaze when he’d first walked inside the club, giving me a brief shake of his head and continuing in the same direction as his brothers. I could only guess at what was discussed after they closed that door.
I was just thankful that he seemed to be okay, physically, if not mentally. His dark, unfathomable mood had been slightly frightening. There’d been something in his eyes, an emotion so deep and tormented that it had had taken my breath away. For the first time I was seeing Jace in a different light. The easy-going, smiling man had been replaced with a more dangerous version that warned me that being on his bad side would ruin me. It was slightly alarming, even while it made me hot. And how sick did that make me? What would this darkly menacing Jace be like in the bedroom?
I felt guilty for wanting to find out.
I made my way to Casey’s room. I was in the habit of spending a few hours with her every day, and every day she seemed a little better than she had the day before. In the beginning, she’d just sat curled up against the corner of the bed and the wall, quiet and staring off at nothing, barely acknowledging anyone around her. Jim had been understanding and patient with her, but she’d had a hard time letting him get close. He often left their room tight-lipped and angry.
His frustration was understandable.
I seemed to be the only one that Casey was comfortable with, and had been able to coax her into eating and showering. Sleeping was a problem for her, she often woke screaming and thrashing from the recurring nightmare of what happened to her. The club had made allowances for their strict rule of no one in or out during lockdown, bringing a psychiatrist in to evaluate her. She seemed to be helping Casey, and as most traumas did, working through it was taking time.
I gave a light knock to alert Casey before I opened the door and peeked in. If she were sleeping I’d let her be, but she was sitting in the recliner, staring up at the TV. It was on, but I could tell that she wasn’t interested in the show. When she glanced up and saw me a small smile spread across her face, encouraging me to go inside. I shut the door behind me and went and sat on the edge of the bed next to her chair.
“What are you watching?” There was a commercial on right then.
She shrugged. “Not really watching anything, have it turned on for the sound.” So that she didn’t feel all alone.
“Have you had lunch yet?” I smiled.
She nodded. “Yeah, Jim brought me in a bowl of soup and a sandwich earlier.” I didn’t want to ask her if she had eaten it, because I was sure she was getting tired of hearing the same questions every day.
I took a breath, doubting that she’d heard about Tiger, Roy, and Dober. She hadn’t left the room since we’d been rescued from the Destroyers. “Why don’t you come for a walk with me? You need to get out of this room.” Her eyes grew big, and I recognized the slight panic that my suggestion had evoked. “Honey, the only people out there is our friends. They’re concerned about you.”
She nodded. “The old ladies have been in to check on me,” she admitted.
“You’re an old lady now, too,” I grinned, reassured by her tiny smile. “Don’t you think it’s time for a change of scenery? We could take a walk out to the picnic area and watch the kids play.”
It was hard to gauge what she was thinking, but I was relieved that she seemed to at least be considering it. Finally, she got up from the chair.
“Okay, I’d like some fresh air.”
Yeah!!! I cheered to myself, getting to my feet and leading the way out of her room. When we entered the main room of the clubhouse, curious looks came our way, but the men seemed to know to stay away. The women smiled, their obvious concern touching me. It hadn’t taken long for them to welcome Casey into their protective folds, and I was thankful for it. As we walked through the noisy room toward the door I grasped Casey by the hand, afraid that she would bolt back into the direction of her room if given the chance.
I didn’t miss the smile of relief on Jim’s face as we passed by where he was sitting with some of his brothers, playing cards. I gave him a wink, opened the door, and then we were heading toward the side of the building where the tables were located. Just beyond that was a section that had been set up for the kids to play, and I guessed that there were about a dozen of them running around while their mothers watched over them.
“The sun feels good,” Casey sighed.
I imagined that it did after being cooped up in a gloomy room for almost two weeks.
“There are a lot of kids here.”
I scanned over the ones who were playing beyond where we were sitting. The younger kids spent a lot of time outside, while their older siblings stayed inside on their tablets and phones. “Did Jim tell you about Samson?” I asked Casey. He’d lost his leg, but he was doing well. Karla and Barbara were going to take care of him until we could return to the camp.
As I’d hoped it would, the mention of her dog brought a genuine smile to Casey’s face. “He’s tough,” she asserted. “Thank God Karla and Barbara got him to the vet. I owe them.”
It grew quiet between us. I was still feeling guilt for what had happened to Casey, even though she and everyone else had told me that it wasn’t my fault. I couldn’t help it. At least I’d gotten her to come outside with me today. That felt like a huge accomplishment. I wondered when her psychiatrist would be back. “So does it help talking to Doctor Lockhart?”
“She helps, with the guilt,” she admitted, surprising me.
I frowned. “What do you have to feel guilty about?”
She pinned her sad eyes on me, looking at me as if I should already know. “For not fighting back hard enough.”
“Honey, there’s no way you could have stopped those men. They were savage monsters. If you’d fought any harder you might have ended up with broken bones, or worse.”
Large tears filled her eyes, but they didn’t fall. “It was worse,” she choked out. “I feel so dirty, Luna.”
“No,” I said firmly. “Don’t ever feel like that. You didn’t do anything wrong. And they’re dead, so they can never hurt you again.” I was so angry.
“Jim…”
I waited for her to continue, but she didn’t. “Jim loves you, Casey. He helped kill those bastards. He doesn’t blame you. He doesn’t think you’re dirty. He just wants to help you right now, and he feels helpless.” I took a breath. “He feels responsible, honey. When he realized that you hadn’t come to the clubhouse with the others on the day of the move, he claimed you in front of the whole club and then went after you.” I knew that she’d already heard this, but a reminder wouldn’t hurt.
Tears ran down her cheeks, and I gave her a few minutes to cry it out. I wanted to take her into my arms, but something told me that that would only make it worse. She knew that I was there for her, but I didn’t want to become an enabler. The only one who could make Casey strong again was Casey. I did reach forward for her hand though, giving it a gentle squeeze. She glanced at me through her tears, smiling as if to comfort me.
“I love him.” She reached up and wiped her cheeks. "But how can he want me after . . . after them?"
As if on cue, the door opened and Jim stepped out. Our gazes met, his filled with worry and a silent question. He hesitated, but I motioned for him to continue toward us. When he was within a few feet away, Casey noticed his approach and offered him a shy smile.
“Whose ass am I beating for making you cry darlin’?” Even though he was obviously kidding, there was a measure of fierceness in his tone that revealed he would follow through on the threat if required.
Casey released a little giggle. Jim moved around me to the other side where she was sitting, approaching her c
autiously, as if he were afraid that she would cower away from him. I could almost hear his sigh of relief once he settled down next to her. The grateful look in his eyes spoke volumes. He moved slowly, taking her hand in his, and then he pulled her hand up to his lips and kissed it, giving her a wink.
“I made myself cry,” she said after a moment. “But I’m okay now.”
“I’m glad to see you outside, baby.” She nodded. “Can I put my arm around you?”
Casey stared at him for a full minute, so many emotions flirting across her pretty face. She glanced at me, as if looking for permission. I hoped that my smile encouraged her to let her fears go so she could be with the man she loved.
“I think I’d like that,” she finally said in a low tone.
Once Jim had his arm settled across Casey’s shoulders I felt that it was time to give them some privacy. I scooted from the bench. “If you two love birds will excuse me, I need to go to the ladies’ room.” I didn’t really need to go, but I didn’t want Casey to think that I was just deserting her.
I left them sitting alone together, feeling good about Casey’s progress for the first time. Getting outside of that room was a start to getting her back to normal.
“Hey, baby.”
I glanced in the direction of where the comment had come from. A prospect that I wasn’t familiar with was guarding the gate entrance. He was young and trying to give off the vibe that he was a badass that was not to be messed with. He couldn’t quite pull it off with the fluff on his face, which looked as if it were his first attempt at growing a beard. I didn’t want to encourage his interest, but I gave him a small smile, hoping that would be the end of it.
“Why don’t you come over here and keep me company?”
I was pretty sure that that would be frowned upon. The purpose of guarding the gate was to be on alert and on the lookout for trouble, and having company would only be a distraction. His interest in me suggested that he didn’t know that I was with Jace. I could understand that, considering that Jace wasn’t really a member of the Wreckers, and maybe this guy guarding the gate was new.
