Vanessa had no clue what anyone was saying but she enjoyed the moment regardless. The energy was insanely invigorating.

The rapper dropped his mic while the spotlight split, illuminating two more singers behind him.

They danced as they sang, harmonizing with one another. When the beat dropped, the spotlight lit all six members as they danced in perfect unison. The crowd went wild.

Vanessa’s body danced with the beat. And even though she only heard a minute of the song so far, she already knew the hook and was singing along.

“I’ll never be without you,” the stadium sang together. “I’ll never be without you.”

Smiling to herself, she closed her eyes and danced. She was on such a high from that day’s events that even her body was singing. She moved with the rhythmic beat, becoming a part of the stadium’s buzzing energy. She was in such a deep trance, that when she heard that familiar deep velvet voice, she felt like she was right back in bed with Kimoon.

As the voice continued to croon, she stopped dancing. Her eyes sprung open as she looked up to the man singing on stage. She couldn’t believe her eyes.

There he was. Kimoon was singing to a venue of ten thousand people. As he danced, he moved with the same smooth moves he used in the ferris wheel pod. They were the same smooth moves he used in bed…

Vanessa couldn’t keep her eyes off him as he walked up the stage.

“I will do everything,” he sang in his deep voice. As he walked, his dark eyes scanned the crowd. Just like that, his gaze landed on her. “I will do everything, I promise you-ou-ou.”

The corner of his lips lifted up into a slight smirk. She couldn’t stop herself from smiling.

Everything he shared with her earlier made sense now. He was trapped in the spotlight and all he wanted was someone to see the man behind the band. Knowing she was that person made her feel even more special than he already made her feel.

“Vanessa!” Madison yelled over the music. She leaned in and yelled into her ear. “Isn’t that your bracelet?”

  She pointed up at Kimoon.

Vanessa looked back to see Kimoon pushing his hair back. There it was, the bracelet she gave him earlier. A warm feeling flooded through her. He really did care for her.

Vanessa could feel Madison staring at her as she put together the pieces. Her jaw dropped.

“Holy shit!” Madison brought her hands to her mouth. “Was your date with Bae Ki-moon from Daenseu Boys?”

Vanessa kept her eyes on Kimoon as he blew a kiss at her. Everyone in the vicinity screamed with joy.

“OH MY FUCKING GOD!” Madison’s eyes grew wide. “I hate you!”

Vanessa laughed as she pulled her sister closer and hugged her.

“Thanks for inviting me to visit you,” she said.

“You’re going to tell me everything later.”

Vanessa playfully pushed her sister away and continued dancing with the music, urging

  Madison to do the same.

“I promise you-ou-ou,” she sang along.

“I promise you-ou-ou,” the others joined in.

As the concert continued, Vanessa’s gaze was glued to Kimoon. She couldn’t keep her eyes off him as he danced across the stage. Smiling to herself, she danced to the music.

  Three Months Later…

Vanessa worked in her studio apartment as she put the final touches on a new pair of earrings. The jewelry was the last piece for her debut collection.

A warm summer wind blew in through the window, bringing the sound of chirping birds and people laughing. It also brought in the sound of music playing from a distant car speaker.

Vanessa’s ears perked up. It was a Daenseu Boys song.

There were advertisements all over the city about them since they’d be playing there in a few days.

Putting down her work, she walked over to the window and listened to the music. As the warm wind blew over her skin, Kimoon’s deep voice crooned, striking a chord deep in her belly.

His voice always set something alight in her. Playing with fire was dangerous but she couldn’t help herself.

She reached for his floral scarf which he left behind in the penthouse suite. She pressed the soft fabric to her cheek.

Another breeze blew in, this one brought a chill and smelled like rain. Vanessa closed the window, blocking the sound of Kimoon’s longing voice.

She stared out the window at the dark clouds rolling in. Her phone vibrated on her desk.

  “Hello?” She answered.

“Vanessa?” A woman’s husky voice asked. “Are you home? I’m coming over later today to pick up the merchandise.”

It was Kathy, her newly hired business partner and assistant.

“Absolutely.” Vanessa put down Kimoon’s scarf. “I’m just putting the finishing touches on the last piece.”

She grabbed the new earrings and placed them in a small black box branded with her company’s gold logo.

“Do you ever stop working?” Kathy asked.

  Vanessa laughed. “Apparently not.”

“Listen, I’m gonna try and beat the rain, but if I don’t make it in time then I’ll swing by after it clears up.”

  “Okay. Be safe out there.”

Vanessa ended the call and placed the small box in a larger box with the rest of the jewelry.

After returning from Seoul three months ago, Vanessa spent no time squandering Kimoon’s suggestion of starting a business with her art. She created a website and ordered enough material to start making jewelry on a larger scale. It seemed like a no-brainer. How could she turn down the advice of an international superstar who was making millions off his art?

A week into creating the website, she received a boost in sales from a magazine that featured a picture of Kimoon wearing her bracelet. Her jewelry was considered a major summer fashion trend. After her website crashed from all the traffic, she had no choice but to quit her secretary job, hire a business partner, and throw everything she had at this idea.

The pre-orders provided enough money for her to move into a small studio apartment close to New York City. It was wild how quickly her life flipped completely after her trip to Seoul and her fateful meeting with Kimoon.

  The doorbell rang.

“That was fast,” she said to herself. Thunder rolled in the distance.

She adjusted her black yoga pants and pulled at her oversized white t-shirt, making sure her bra-strap wasn’t showing. Her hair was in a wild messy bun and she was wearing big round glasses, the ones she wore when she worked.

  “Coming,” she said.

As she opened the door, the cool air of the storm pulled inside. Looking up, she gasped.

Kimoon, tall and handsome as ever, stood in her doorway. He was wearing a camel-colored trench coat over black pants. His rose-tinted sunglasses allowed her to see his eyes.

She didn’t know what else to do but smile.

  “You found me,” she said.

Without taking his eyes off her, he stepped forward. His hand gently touched her cheek.

“Vanessa,” he said. His deep voice rattled through her bones.

Her eyes grew wide. “Hey, you said Vanessa!”

  He smiled. “I’ve been practicing.”

She looked into his eyes. He was just as beautiful as she remembered.

“I thought you weren’t supposed to be here until next week,” she said.

“The Toronto stadium flooded. The concerts were canceled. I wanted to surprise you.”

She smirked. “If I knew you were coming, I would have put on real clothes.”

He watched her with innocent amusement.

“I like this,” he said, stepping closer. “I get to see the real you.”

Lowering his head, he pressed his round nose softly against hers.

  “I missed you,” he whispered.

His clean masculine scent of citrus and wood filled the space between them. She breathed in

  his dizzying
aroma.

  “I missed you too.”

“I can’t believe you’re here.” She touched his soft cheeks. “Kimoon, you have no clue how much you’ve changed my life since I last saw you.”

“No,” he said. “You changed your life.”

  She bit back a smile.

After the concert, they started texting each other. She thanked him for the tickets, telling him she enjoyed the show (but that she enjoyed the private version better). He continued texting her throughout her Seoul trip, recommending all sorts of places for her to visit. And after her trip was done, they continued texting each other, sometimes intimately, sometimes explicitly...

“I’ve been waiting a long time to do this,” Kimoon whispered.

He pressed his full lips against hers and kissed her with intention. Heat warmed her chilled cheeks. Lightning flashed bright enough to see through closed eyes as she melted into his comfortable embrace.

The kiss was like a storm as they consumed each other. Thunder cracked in the distance as rain started hitting the windows.

There was no more restraint, no more waiting. They kissed each other the way they promised each other they would in all those late-night texts. She kissed him the way she dreamed about kissing him since that day in Seoul.

When they pulled apart, they breathed heavily. She looked into his dark eyes.

“Vanessa,” he said. “I love you.”

The heat between them became thick and heavy.

  “I love you too.”

Her hands moved over his shoulders and around the back of his neck. “You’ve turned me into a dreamer.”

His soft lips found her ear. “Let’s dream together.”

She didn’t need convincing. The deep commanding tone of his voice told her everything she had to know. Lifting her with ease, Kimoon carried her down the hallway and to the bedroom as the storm raged on outside.
