My Broken Angel Page 4

by Heather D'Agostino

Toni and I have been together for a little over four months, and she is insatiable. It works for me, because I’ve been so busy with classes that I don’t really have time for much else. She’s understood so far, but we’ll see how long that lasts. I’ve come to realize that most of the girls only put up with the aloofness for so long. I’ve never had one stick around for more than six months.

“You’re so big,” Toni sighs as she sinks down and grinds her hips into me.

“That’s right, baby, and it’s all yours,” I groan as she bites down on my shoulder. It doesn’t take long after that before we’re both jerking and trembling as we come. “You wanna take a shower before everyone gets back in here and bugs us?” I smirk at her as she straightens her bikini before climbing off my lap. Our group consisted of three more guys in addition to Cole, Angela, and Ally. We were going to have a full house soon enough.

“Sure, hot stuff. I could go again anyway,” she bites her lip as she stands, turns, and sways her hip seductively as she heads toward the bathroom beside the bedroom we’re sharing this week.

I don’t know how long we were in there. I do know that Toni had three more orgasms, and I had one. We stayed in until the water cooled, and then I pretty much had to shove her out so I could clean myself off. We’d been humping like jack rabbits for so long, that we hadn’t figured out how to just be around each other. I missed that. I liked the whole “I just wanna fuck you”, but missing that piece, the one where you can talk to a girl about real stuff…I missed that. I’d only had that with one woman in my life, and she wasn’t even a woman, she was girl…a girl I couldn’t have. Angela. Just saying her name made all the memories come flooding back. I hadn’t seen her in a year. When Cole went home for Christmas, I stayed at school. My parents came to spend the holidays with me in the apartment that Cole and I shared.

The more I thought about Angela, the more I wondered how she’d changed. She was a skinny tomboy the last time I saw her. The awkwardness that most teenagers had was cute on her, but I’d kept my distance. After she’d kissed me all those years ago, I’d made sure that we were never alone, and that she knew where I stood. Something like that could never happen again. The fact that I had agreed to Cole inviting her is half the reason I’d invited Toni. Toni would help remind me of what I could have and keep me away from what I couldn’t.

“I’m hungry,” Toni whined as I slipped on a pair of athletic shorts, sans boxers.

“I think there’s some stuff to make sandwiches with in the kitchen. I’ll make us something,” I smiled as I watched her sprawl out on our bed. She was still only wearing a towel, and her eyes were hooded as she stared at me.

“I was thinking I could eat something else,” her eyes dropped to my still semi-hard cock as she licked her lips.

“I can’t believe I’m going to say this,” I muttered before squeezing my eyes shut, and then opening them to stare at her, “he needs a break.”

“Fine,” she sighed. “I’ll get dressed and meet you in the kitchen.”

I nodded before leaving her in the bedroom to go in search of sandwich fixings. As I stood in the kitchen barefoot, only wearing a pair shorts, the front door to the beach house banged open. I figured it was the rest of our friends finally making their way up from the beach, so I didn’t bother looking up. If I had, I would have seen what was coming next, and maybe been able to stop it.

All at once, I heard Toni come out of the bedroom and Cole laugh at the same time. The fact that the girls were with him hadn’t even sunk into my brain yet.

“Hi,” Toni’s high pitched voice sounded as my head snapped to see Angela and Ally scowling.

“Hi,” Angela smiled, but I could tell it was forced. “Who are you?”

“Wes,” she called. “Didn’t you tell anybody about me?” Her voice was getting that nasally sound, and I rolled my eyes as I sensed the pouting that was getting ready to occur.

“I’m sorry, baby,” I soothed as I rounded the corner, and wrapped my arm around her pulling her into my side. “I wasn’t sure you were coming until the last minute. This is Toni,” I pressed a kiss to her temple “my girlfriend. Toni, this is Angel and Ally,” I motioned to the two people who were no longer girls standing in front of me. Angela had changed so much over the last year that she didn’t even look like the girl I remembered.

Her hips had filled out and so had her breasts. Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail with a few wisps framing her face and neck. Her eyes were wide in surprise as she observed Toni clinging to me.

“Girlfriend?” her voice was timid as she darted her eyes between us. “I didn’t know you were dating anyone,” she smiled sadly.

“We’ve been together four months now,” Toni scowled as she looked up at me. “Am I a secret or something?”

“No baby, I just didn’t think to tell them. That’s Cole’s little sister.” I saw the way my words slapped her across the face, effectively dousing whatever idea she had conjured up about this weekend. I didn’t want to hurt her, but it was no secret that she had feelings for me, feelings that I wasn’t allowed to return. Maybe in another time, another life I could, but not now and not this one.

“I’ll be back in a minute. I forgot something in the car,” she gave us a quick smile before turning and rushing to the door.

“Angel!” I called after her but didn’t move to go after her.

“Don’t call me that,” she growled before disappearing outside.

“You should have said something,” Ally narrowed her eyes on Cole. “You knew he had a girlfriend. You should have prepared her,” Ally shoved Cole as she turned to run after Angela.

“Great!” Cole tossed his hands in the air. “I try to do something nice for my high-school age sister and her best friend, and I’m the bad guy,” he rolled his eyes. “Fuck this! Get me a beer!” he flopped down on the couch and threw his arms up along the back just as the rest of our friends came barreling in the door.

“Dude,” Devon shouted. “There’s some hot chick out front crying. I think I’m going to go comfort her,” he wagged his brow.

“That’s my fucking sister,” Cole grumbled. “If you’d like your dick to continue working properly, I suggest you stay away from her. I’m the only one that will be doing any comforting when it comes to her.”

“Sorry,” Devon lifted his hands in the air. “We’re going down to Max’s for a few beers if you losers want to join us.”

“Yeah, I need that,” Cole huffed.

“I’m in,” Toni giggled. “You coming?” she looked at me all hopeful, but I knew what I needed to do.

“I think I’m going to stay here today. You go ahead, babe. I’ll catch up with you later. I’m going to go for a run on the beach first.”

“Ok,” she shrugged before linking her arm through Devon’s. “Let’s go.”

I knew I should be jealous that she was hanging on another man, but for some strange reason, I wasn’t. Toni going off with them didn’t bother me at all. All I could think about at the moment was the look on Angela’s face when I’d introduced my girlfriend. The thought of her down on the sand somewhere crying propelled me to grab the sandwiches I was making, and go find her.

  Chapter 5

  Wes- Age 21

After gathering the food in one hand and a couple of drinks in the other, I went outside and began searching for her. I knew she wouldn’t have gone far, and the minute I hit the sand, I heard her.

Ally came storming up to me and poked me in chest, “She doesn’t want to see you right now. Go away!”

“I don’t care what she wants; I need to talk to her.” I sighed before narrowing my eyes on Ally. “Please move.”

Ally glanced behind her, and then back at me, “Fine. I know what’s bothering her isn’t your fault,” she whispered “but I’m her best friend. I’m supposed to be mad at you because she is.”

I smirked at Ally standing there with her hands on her hips scowling at me, “Fair enough. Can I have a litt
le alone time with her?”

“I’m going for a walk,” she called out and then pointed at me. “Be nice!”

I saluted her with the hand holding the sandwiches, and then followed the sound of soft sniffling. Angela was tucked up under the stairs with her arms wrapped around her legs. “I don’t want to talk to you,” she murmured. “Please, go away.”

“You don’t have to talk,” I lowered myself beside her. “You can just listen.” I handed her a bottled water and waited for her to slowly nod. “Here, eat this,” I placed the sandwich in her hand.

“I don’t want something you made for someone else,” she grumbled as she pushed my arm away.

“I made it for me. Just take it,” I huffed before scrubbing my hands down my face. “Why are you under here?”

“What do you care?” she turned away from me, and put as much distance between us as the tiny space would allow.

“Look,” I turned to face her. “Just because I don’t like you like that, doesn’t mean I don’t care. You’re like a little sister to me, Angel,” she stiffened as my words hung in the air around us. “I’m too old for you. You have to know that. We can’t be together the way you want to be right now.”

“Right now?” her eyes lifted as she stared at me. “Do you think you could ever love me?”

Her words cut me like knife. “Someday,” I shifted in the sand. “We’re just too different right now,” I murmured.

  ooooooooo

  Angela- Age 16

“Too different?” A tear slipped down my cheek, and I wiped at it angrily. I didn’t want him to see me cry. I’d already embarrassed myself enough in front of him. The moment I’d seen him with that girl flashed through my mind and I cringed. Thinking about them having sex in that room so close to me made me wanna puke.

“Can you tell me this,” I paused as I stared out through the steps and watched the waves lap up against the sand. “If I were older, would you want me?”

Wes’ eyes pinched shut. The hand he was leaning on in the sand inched closer to mine, his palm flat. The pinky brushed across mine so lightly I would have missed it if I wasn’t so in tune with his presence. “If you were older, I wouldn’t be able to stay away from you Angel,” he hissed. “You’ve always been a beautiful girl, and now you’re turning into a beautiful woman.” He turned his head to stare at me as a painful look washed across his features, “but you’re not, and whatever is going on in there,” he pointed to my head “it just isn’t gonna work.”

“You’ll see,” I forced a smile. “I’m the right girl for you, and I’ll wait forever for you to figure it out.” I pushed myself up and brushed off the sand, “When I’m eighteen, I’m gonna really kiss you.” Before he could answer, I ran out onto the beach. That was the first time I’d ever said anything like that to a guy, especially one I’d been in love with for years.

Watching that girl hang all over him was going to kill me. I could feel little pieces of me dying with each breath I took. Weston McKay had claimed my heart at the tender age of 9, and he’d never given it back. As soon as I was old enough, I was gonna make him see that we were made for each other.

  ooooooooo

“Everything ok?” Ally shuffled into the room we were sharing for the week. “I don’t need to kill anyone, do I?”

“It’s fine,” I grabbed my brush off the counter of our attached bathroom. “But if you really want to kill somebody, you can start with Toni,” I scowled as her name fell from my lips like I’d eaten something sour. Just knowing that she had what I wanted made me hate her.

“I can do that,” Ally giggled, “but I have a better idea.”

“And what’s that,” I turned and placed my hands on my hips.

“Look what I stole,” she grinned as she held up a half full bottle of vodka. “Wanna go out on the beach now that it’s dark, and have a little fun?”

My thoughts twisted in my head. I’d never had alcohol before. Cole wouldn’t let me, and my dad was a drunk. I wasn’t sure I’d like what it would do to me. “I don’t know,” I mumbled.

“Oh come on. It’ll be fun, and,” she glanced around before lowering her voice anymore “I bet there will be a few beach parties tonight.”

“What the hell,” I tossed my arms in the air. Why was I worried? Cole was partying with his friends. Wes was doing who knows what with his girlfriend. Why couldn’t I have fun too? “I’m in,” I declared before tugging a hoodie on. I knew it’d be cool out on the beach now that the sun had set. “We gotta wait until later so we can sneak out though.”

“This isn’t your mom’s house. The guys aren’t going to care,” she rolled her eyes. “Watch,” she grabbed her own sweatshirt, stuffed the bottle underneath it so it was hidden, and crept out into the living room motioning me to follow. “We’re going for a walk,” she called out as she tugged me toward the door. No one looked up or turned in our direction. They were all either playing cards, watching TV, or making out. “Don’t wait up,” she laughed as we escaped onto the porch. “See?” She shoved my shoulder as we raced down the steps and onto the sand.

“That was too easy,” I giggled. “My brother’s gonna be pissed when he finds out we stole his liquor.”

“We didn’t steal his,” Ally grinned. “This is Toni’s.”

My eyes widened, “How do you know that?”

“I saw it in their room. I snuck in, and took it,” she giggled as she opened the top, took a giant gulp, and cringed. “Shit, that burns,” she coughed as she handed me the bottle. “Your turn.”

I scrutinized the bottle for a minute as I stared at the label. How could something that looked so innocent turn my dad into such a monster?

“The label doesn’t have the answers to all of life’s questions,” Ally snickered. “What’s inside does.”

I sighed before placing the bottle to my lips and tipping my head back. When I swallowed a huge gulp, the alcohol burned like fire. I gasped and sputtered as Ally wrapped her arms around her middle laughing her head off at me. “It’s not funny,” I scowled.

“Yes. it is,” she laughed harder. “Gimme,” she grabbed for the bottle and took another swig.

“Slow down,” I gasped. “I can’t carry you if you get drunk.”

“I’m not gonna get drunk. Your turn,” she shoved it back at me. “Come on,” she grabbed me by the elbow, and laughed as we began walking down the beach.

I’m not sure how far we walked, but the pier in the distance began getting closer and closer. The lights from the arcade, and the attractions flashed bright and inviting. I sighed as I thought about sitting atop the Ferris wheel with Wes, snuggled into his side as he wrapped his arms around me.

I lifted the bottle as soon as those thoughts began to take over my mind. I needed to drown him out, and the more vodka I consumed, the less time I spent dwelling on him. Maybe my dad had a point all those nights he came home sloshed. The drunker I got, the clearer things seemed to be. My heart hurt less, and life seemed to be better.

“Hey, you ok?” Ally giggled beside me.

“Yeah, why?” I stopped when I saw her staring at the water. We turned around a while ago, and were almost back in front of the beach house.

“Wanna go swimming,” she hiccupped as she tossed her sweatshirt onto the sand. The vodka was long gone, and we were officially tipsy.

  “Now?” I gasped.

“Why not,” she shrugged. “It’s dark. No one will see,” she peeled her shorts down her thighs and tossed her t-shirt into the pile as well. “Underwear covers the same thing as a bikini,” she laughed. “Chicken,” she called as she took off toward the waves.

I stood there for a few seconds, debating whether it was a good idea. I wanted to be like her, and not care, but my common sense was holding me back. The alcohol had quieted the voice that was telling me I shouldn’t do this, but it hadn’t squelched it. After seeing Ally so carefree and happy, I rolled my eyes and began tugging off my clothes. Why was I worried? It was dark, and she was ri
ght…underwear covered the same thing as a bikini.

The water felt refreshing, even though it was chilly. We stayed out until our bodies could no longer stand the cold. Deciding that we’d had enough, we grabbed our clothes and began making our way inside.

The lights were out, and Ally and I were shushing each other as we crept through the door. “I don’t know why we’re acting as if we did something wrong,” I hissed. “We told them we were going for a walk.”

Ally hiccupped, “Yeah,” and placed her hand on her hip.

Before we knew it, the lights flew on, illuminating the room, and my brother stood about five feet away scowling at us.

“Where the fuck have you been, and why the hell are you all wet?” he bellowed.

“Sorry, Dad,” I rolled my eyes at him. “We told you we were going for a walk.”

“That was over three hours ago. Where the hell did you walk to?” he moved closer to take in our damp appearance.

“That’s none of your business,” I growled.

“We went swimming,” Ally giggled and hiccupped again.

“Are you drunk?” Cole gritted his teeth together as he sniffed us. “Tell me my sixteen year old sister and her best friend did not go out and get drunk on my watch.”

“Ok, see you in the morning,” I flipped my hand in the air as I tried to move around him.

“You’re fucking drunk,” he gasped in disbelief.

“You told me not to tell you,” I sassed back. “Get out of my way!”

“We’re going to talk about this,” he demanded.

“No, we’re not!” I hissed. “I’m going to bed.”

Ally scurried past us as we continued our stare down. Before I knew it, Wes’ bedroom door was slowly opening, and his head was peering out. His hair was standing up on end, and his eyes were blinking rapidly like he’d just woken up. “What the hell is all the yelling about?” he glanced from me to Cole.

“My fucking sister got drunk and then decided to go for a swim apparently,” Cole tossed his arms in the air.
