“God, I love you.”
Rick’s eyes widened. “Wow. That’s a big word.”
“Four letters, actually.”
Rick came around to stand on the same side of the counter. Chocolate still covered his hands, but now his mouth dropped open and his eyes grew wide. “Seth?”
“I mean it. I love you. I think I have from the beginning.” And, damn, it felt good to say it.
Rick closed his eyes. When he opened them again the deep blue almost gleamed. “Thank God.”
Then Rick was on top of him. His hands were everywhere. Sticky against Seth’s bare skin. But he didn’t care. He wanted this. All of this. Everything with this man.
They kissed as their bodies rubbed together. Seth felt Rick’s hands move lower and Seth caught his fingers at his zipper. “Wait.”
“That’s a first.” Rick sounded amused at the thought.
Seth wasn’t quite there. He couldn’t swallow. He could barely breathe. “I need to hear it.”
A smile broke across Rick’s mouth. “I love you. Forever love. Like, can’t-be-without-you love. It’s why I turned my life around.” He cupped Seth’s cheek. “I knew you were worth the risk. That you aren’t perfect but that you are perfect for me.”
Satisfaction washed through Seth. “That’s it then.”
Rick laughed. “Only you would say something like that right now.”
“As far as I’m concerned we’re in this. There’s no going back.” Seth meant that as a profound and binding vow. “Just try to lose me.”
“Never. In fact…” Rick used his finger to trail a line of chocolate down Seth’s chest. “I’d rather get you all sticky then lick it off.”
“We really are perfect for each other.”
“About time you realized it.”
He’d known, but saying it took longer. Once the words were out there they’d be real and, to Seth’s mind, permanent. Looking at Rick now, Seth knew that feeling was mutual. “I plan to spend a lifetime showing you.”
Rick’s fingers found that zipper. “Then get started.”
