And this book ... CRESCENDO ... is the first book I’ve written and published entirely while retired from the big day job. I hope you love it. I do have plans for a fourth and possibly fifth book in this series! I’m planning a rough publishing schedule of three books a year now, Winter, Summer and Fall. And I’m also starting to muse on my next series after Murrells Inlet Miracles.
So, all is well in my world.

I’d like to remind you that you met Haley and Blake in Book 2: Restoration. Blake was the Uber driver that helped retrieve a certain little girl from a car accident late in the story. Here’s a little excerpt to help you remember:
Haley and the Uber driver sat in the lobby of the ER, and came to their feet in unison when Ryan, Carly and Grace walked in. In a flurry of questions and answers, it was shared that Grace was absolutely fine, released to go home, and Ryan’s mother was staying for observation, but also was expected to be fine.
Ryan shook hands with the Uber driver. “I can’t thank you enough, man.”
He shook his head. “I didn’t do anything.”
Ryan gestured to his blood-stained shirt. “Yes, you did. You pulled a deer out of a car, so my little girl could get out of there. And,” he checked his watch, “you’ve lost out on an hour’s worth of fares, just so you could sit with Haley and find out how everything turned out. In fact,” he said and pulled some bills out of his pocket, “take this. This was the OT I made tonight. That’s the whole reason my mom was on that dark road at that hour in the first place, because I agreed to work OT. Next time, I won’t be quite so anxious for the money. Take it, please. It’ll help.”
The driver hesitated.
“Heck, you might need that much to dry clean your shirt,” Haley joked.
He laughed and went ahead and accepted the small stack of bills. “Thank you.”
“What’s your name, by the way?” Ryan asked him.
“Blake,” Haley answered for him. They all turned their heads toward her and stared. She blushed, a faint pink covering her cheeks. “What? His name is Blake.”

About Laurie:
IF YOU HAD ASKED AN eight-year-old Laurie, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” she would’ve said, “Live at the beach and write novels.” Such an enlightened girl for knowing at such a young age what her destiny would be. Now, almost five decades later (but not quite), that’s still her dream.
And she’s making it happen.
Being a goal- and results-oriented person, Laurie put into place a long-term plan. Twenty years ago, while she was building a successful career with a huge corporation that had absolutely nothing to do with living at the beach OR writing novels, she started writing her first book. That effort turned out to be her first published novel, Whispers of the Heart which released in early 2000. From then on, the act of writing took a fierce hold on her.
She has now written and published close to twenty novels, and for eighteen years, she split her time/effort/passion between the afore-mentioned big, draining, demanding dayjob and her writing career.
In 2016, Laurie and her husband bought their future dream home in coastal South Carolina. Currently they travel back and forth between both homes as the whim hits. And in early 2018, Laurie left the corporate world behind, retiring after 34 years and a ton of professional accomplishments.
That eight-year-old dream is almost a reality. Some dreams are worth waiting for.
Outside of her professional life, Laurie and her husband of 29 years have an empty nest, after raising two wonderful and talented sons. They are both educated and self-sufficient, working in their own careers and making Mom and Dad proud on a daily basis.
Laurie is a dog lover. Growing up alongside Laurie’s two sons was Gracie the Wonder Dog, who sadly, they lost just last year. Both boys have their own dogs now, so Laurie enjoys spending time and lavishing kisses on her two grand-puppies, Izzy and Buster.
Laurie is a huge theater fan and goes to as much live theater as she can. And of course, her favorite place in the world is the beach.
