Pride & Prejudice Villains Revisited – Redeemed – Reimagined: A Collection of Six Pride and Prejudice Variation Short Stories Page 26

by Renata McMann

Lydia swallowed, trying to hold back tears. This was him, the George she knew. The husband she loved. She would keep his secrets. She would never allow anyone to read the earlier pages. These, though, at the end, she might tell them about. Their children, especially, deserved to know.

She turned the page, eager to read more. It was blank. She fanned through the few pages that were left in the old journal. All were blank. Flipping back, she looked at the date at the top of his final entry. April the eleventh. The day before George died.
