“How come him and not me?” he asks, pulling me from my thoughts.
“There was never a choice, Hunter,” I tell him honestly.
“You never looked at me the way you look at him when he enters a room. He steals your thoughts. It’s like you only train in on one thing, and that’s him.”
I can see how hurt he is, and I don’t know how to explain to him that it was never a choice.
“What you and I had was different, Hunter. We were just sex. Yes, there may have been some feelings there, but we had too much going on to deal with them.”
He looks down at the water and then back to me.
“It was never just sex for me. I told you once I’d stop it all if I knew I could have you.”
He did tell me that, and at the time, I thought he meant sex with other women. His father’s club means too much to him to give up.
“I never wanted to be an old lady Hunter. I’m more than your fuck toy. Stefanos gives me more. He is what I need.” I place my hand on his shoulder, lean in and kiss him on the cheek, and start to make my way out of the pool.
“I could have been what you needed, Kalon, and so much more.”
I don’t look back at him. I don’t want to give him hope, because there is absolutely none to give.
Once I open the door, I see Stefanos standing there. He looks pissed, which I don’t understand.
“Go to your sister and look after her,” he instructs and storms off out the front door, slamming it on his way out.
I have no Idea what just crawled up his ass and died. Did he not hear me talking to Hunter? He’s acting like I have betrayed him.
I finally find what room Carmen is in and surprise, surprise; it’s the one right next to mine. She sees me come in, looks away quickly and then goes back to her cell.
“Carmen, you can’t do what I do. It’s no place for a girl,” I tell her, trying to make her see reason. She gives me her best ‘you’ve got to be kidding’ look.
“What do you think you are, Eliza? You are a fucking girl, last time I looked.”
“Yes, but I’m not like most. I’ve seen the bad and the good, and I accept the bad. Fuck, I thrive on the bad. Carmen... most people wouldn’t be able to live or sleep with the knowledge of the things I’ve done, seen or been through. This is not something you want.”
I watch as she shakes her head in disagreement. I realize pretty quickly she isn’t going to budge.
“This isn’t all guns and rainbows, Carmen. You could get kidnapped, tortured, or raped, amongst other terrible things. Trust me when I say, you don’t want this life.”
“Has anything like that happened to you?” she asks, looking like my words are finally sinking in. I think back to when they held me hostage. They beat me and stabbed me. I shake that thought from my mind and look back to her. I lift my shirt and show her the marks that still mar my body. I watch as she takes it in and shakes her head, like she’s trying to disagree with what’s in front of her.
“When did this happen?” she asks in a shaky voice, looking back up into my eyes.
“Don’t worry about it. I’m fine and still alive. But you wouldn’t be.” I pull my shirt down and walk out of her room and head straight to mine, hoping Stefanos will be back soon.
It’s late when a noise wakes me up. I feel his side of the bed and realize he never came back. I sit up and turn on the lamp and notice him sitting at the end of the bed watching me.
“You know my heart and soul only bleeds for you?”
I nod my head and keep my eyes trained on him.
“I saw you kiss Hunter in the pool. I heard him call you his Kalon again and you did not correct him,” he states.
So, he did listen, but obviously he only heard what he wanted to hear - the last part.
“You told me you love me, and I believe you. I just don’t think our love is equal,” he says.
I go to say something, but he starts back up again.
“You make me want to kill, when there is no reason to kill. You make me want to scream at you and tie you to a bed to make you realize your love for me is as strong as mine is for you. I need you to see it! I need every last piece of you! No matter how broken or small that might be. I need it to survive!”
My heart just broke. I have no words for him. I thought the love I gave him would be enough no matter what size it was. I always thought when something is so broken, how can it love? Obviously I was wrong, because I think he just stole that last piece of my heart that I was holding onto.
I look down and then slowly look back up. I know he’s waiting for me to say something. I’m just finding it hard to form words. I need to clear up Hunter first.
“Hunter asked me how come I chose you.” I watch his face tighten at the mention of his name.
“I told him there was no choice to make. He asked me why I never looked at him the way I look at you when you enter a room. Did you know I did that?” A slow smile touches his lips, but he lets me continue. “Did you know from the first time I laid eyes on you, I knew you’d be trouble. Little did I know that trouble was stealing my heart.”
He stands up and I think he’s going to leave, but he doesn’t. He undresses and climbs in the bed with me, pulling me as close as humanly possible to his body.
“You will be my wife one day. When that day comes, if anyone so much as looks at you in the wrong way, they won’t be breathing afterwards.”
I fall asleep, wrapped in his arms by the comfort of his words.
We wake to yelling going on downstairs. I have no idea who it could possibly be, though I’m guessing Carmen is involved somehow. Stefanos pulls me to him and won’t release me from his grip. I manage to wiggle free and jump out. I watch as he turns his fine ass body around so he’s lying on his back, with the blankets no longer covering him. All I can think about is sliding down on his rock hard cock. He sees me looking and thrusts his hips upwards. I laugh at him. I start to walk over to him, when I hear more screaming going on. I sigh, turn away and head downstairs.
As soon as I’m in the kitchen, I find the source of the screaming and an unexpected person. I see my father standing there, shaking his head at Carmen. I wonder what they’re talking about. I don’t waste any time, and walk straight over to him, wrapping my arms around his torso. He does the same to me, leans down and places a kiss on my head. I pull away slightly and look up at him. He looks better, healthier than last time I saw him in the hospital. It makes me happy to see him looking well again.
“Krinos, I’ve missed you,” my father speaks to me in Greek. I notice Carmen isn’t happy.
“English people, not all of us know what you’re saying,” she yells.
I look at my father, roll my eyes and break away from him.
I turn to my sister. “Why the hell are you yelling, Carmen?” I ask as she pulls a face.
“Father told me I need to go home. He won’t even let his own daughter stay in his house. Of course, you are the exception.”
“It has nothing to do with that. Stop acting like a spoiled brat. Think about what we spoke about last night.”
“I should still be able to stay, Eliza. This is my home as much as it is yours.”
She has a point there, so I don’t argue with her. “If you are thinking of doing something stupid like last time, Carmen, I will kick you out myself.”
She huffs and mutters, “Fine,” before she takes off up the stairs.
I turn around and see my mother and father looking at me with wide eyes.
“So, you better not have anymore kids hiding up those sleeves of yours, otherwise I might kill myself. She is by far more than a handful.” I lean over and kiss my mother and head back up to my room where I find Stefanos still laying naked and ready for me. What a perfect way to relieve my stress.
Hunter stops by with some new information. He’s found a way I can reach Alberto with only a few of his guards around him. When my father spots Hunter, he makes his way over to him. They have a chat. I look Hu
nter in the eye while my father’s back is turned, and point toward the back when he’s finished. It doesn’t take him long to catch up to me at the pool house. He takes a seat in front of me and starts telling me the best course of action.
“Every Wednesday night Alberto goes to the strip club. He stays there for few hours before he ends up leaving with a girl. They arrive at the same hotel he goes to every week and he doesn’t leave until the next day. I think this will be your best opportunity to capture him.”
“Okay, so I have two days to get everything organized. You’ll get what you need, once I have him,” I say and stand to walk away. I don’t see any point in making small talk with him anymore. I’ve told him how I feel and there’s nothing I can do about it.
As soon as I step through the doors I see Stefanos standing there. He grabs me when I enter, pulls me to him and kisses me hard on the lips. He kisses me like he’s proving something, though there is nothing for him to prove, because like I’ve told him, I’m completely his.
Stefanos and I, plus a few of my men, are on our way into a bad part of town to meet a buyer. He’s a gang member and possibly one of our best buyers. The neighborhood is not something I’d usually step into without being loaded with guns and a vest. Mainly because it’s more dangerous than most of the others. But because we come here to see Marcus, no one ever bothers us. He’s the king in these parts. The one person you don’t want to trifle with. I must admit he even scares me, just a bit. I’ve seen him angry and I’ve seen him elated. Neither is a pretty sight to withhold.
As soon as we pull up, Stefanos and I are the only ones to get out of the car. We are the only ones permitted to enter Marcus’ house. Marcus is a funny man, but a very dangerous one. I see him sitting in his dining area, smoking weed while lying back watching television. I look at him and think if he didn’t do so many drugs and actually cleaned himself up, he’d be an attractive man. He’s tall, has beautiful chocolate skin, and a rugged look about him.
“Krinos! How happy I am to see you,” he beams, standing too close for my comfort.
Stefanos takes his position right next to me and Marcus gives us a wave with his hand to take a seat.
We don’t make small talk. We get right down to the business that we are here for. When we finish talking, an older man comes walking in thinking he’s, King Shit. He looks over at us, snorts in disgust and walks over to me, looking me up and down.
“Tyrese, I wouldn’t go there if I were you,” Marcus warns him.
I look at Marcus with a raised eyebrow and just as I do a hand reaches out and grabs hold of my breast. I instantly push him away and pull out my knife, but before I get the chance to do any damage, Stefanos shoots him in the leg.
“Marcus, pleasure doing business with you as always.” Stefanos nods, still holding the gun in his hand. He grabs my hand and drags me out the front door. I hear King Shit screaming in pain and Marcus laughing at him.
Once we’re seated back in the car, I look across at this Greek God by my side. He’d do anything to protect me, even endanger his own life or other people he loves just so I won’t come to harm.
“Didn’t want to kill, King Shit, for touching me today?” I ask him with a smile on my face.
“I did want to kill him, Princess, but I’m sure Marcus wouldn’t be too happy if I killed his father. It did take a lot of effort though not to put the bullet between his eyes,” he says, smiling at me.
“Maybe you shouldn’t come to every meeting I go to. You do have your own work to take care of,” I tell him. Because to be honest, I know I’m going to be groped and manhandled. I can usually handle it just fine. I don’t need to lose clients though because Stefanos decides to kill them all for looking at me the wrong way or touching me inappropriately.
“Not happening! Rock will be taking over the east coast soon. So there’s no getting rid of me, Princess.”
That’s news to me! I wonder how come I didn’t know about this.
“I see your brain ticking over there, Princess. It was my orders. I can’t stand to be away from you any longer. I told you, you are never leaving me,” he says, grabbing me and pulling me across the seat so I’m in his lap.
“There’ll need to be ground rules, Stefanos. I can’t let you kill everyone because they look at me the wrong way or touch me.”
His hands hold me tighter as if he’s restraining himself, and I smile at him.
“Not gonna happen. Nearly lost you once and you’re not leaving my sight ever again. End of discussion, Princess. Now come down here and give your man some attention,” he says undoing his pants and letting his cock spring free. I contemplate ignoring him and making him wait for trying to boss me around, but who am I kidding? I can’t say no to him and the bastard knows it.
“When we get home, you’ll be tripling this favor for me,” I say, making it known that he’ll be licking and sucking me all night long. He doesn’t disagree, though an evil smile forms on his face just as my head lowers to take him into my mouth.
We have one more meeting before Wednesday night with the Takahashi Clan. I usually don’t meet with the Takahashi Clan. I’ve met with them once before and I was not a fan. Their leading lady is quite the bitch, and that’s saying something because I know I am. Stefanos and I are going it alone. It’s not a high risk meeting. We pull up and I see two of their hotted-up race cars, four men and one woman leaning against them. I get out and Stefanos automatically comes around to my side. He places his hand on my waist. I’m dressed in normal clothes tonight. I have on all black and my gun is in the back of my jeans. Stefanos looks ravishing in black jeans and a black collared shirt. As we make our way towards them, I see Naoko straighten her stance. A smile slowly forms on her lips as she looks to Stefanos.
“Naoko,” Stefanos greets the Japanese beauty.
She has shoulder length black hair, and she’s dressed in skinny jeans with a blue tank top, which has a Chanel logo. Her shoes are red soled and sky high. I can easily tell by looking at them that her clothes are designer. She’s someone who obviously takes great pride in herself and the way she looks.
“Stefanos, what a lovely surprise and I see you brought a friend. Although, I thought I was meeting Krinos tonight?” she says, looking me up and down. Obviously having no clue who the hell I am. The last time I saw her; I was merely a quiet observer at the side of my father.
“You are,” Stefanos says, as he looks toward me. I see her face change in shock. Her eyes widen, but she quickly covers it up with a smile.
“You’re not what I expected! I was ready to meet someone who’s intimidating from the things I have heard about you.” She looks at me and plasters on a fake smile, then turns her attention back to Stefanos. She takes a step forward toward Stefanos, while he’s still standing next to me. She puts her hand up to touch his lips. I watch as she does this and I think ‘I will cut your perfectly manicured hands off, bitch’.
“Not as soft as I remember. Maybe I should pay them attention,” she draws out and pulls on his lip as she looks across at me. She thinks I’ll get mad, but little does she know that when I’m mad I use more than my words. I’ll allow her to continue trying to stir me up. It’s entertaining me.
“I like it rough, so it’s not his lips that needs the attention,” I add with a wink.
She looks at me and gasps in shock, but then turns to walk off. She looks over her shoulder and just as she turns, she smiles.
“Follow me. Oh, and Stefanos, bring your puppy along to.”
“This puppy bites, Naoko, remember that.”
I hear her laugh. “Krinos, you might scare the big boys, but I can see past your tough façade. You’re just Daddy’s little girl, looking to make him proud.”
She isn’t wrong regarding making my father proud. I follow her down the driveway with Stefanos following closely behind me. We walk to the end of the driveway, which leads to a beautiful white mansion. There’s a roundabout and a water fountain in the front and at least ten stairs that
lead to the front door.
“Just so you know, he doesn’t love you. He isn’t capable of love. We are cut from the same cloth, Stefanos and I. We fuck and we do it well. And that’s exactly what I plan to do with him tonight.”
Stefanos goes to interject and say something, but before he can, I step in front of him.
“You have no idea who he is and I’m warning you, one more word about him, and you won’t be a happy woman tonight.”
She laughs at me and I smile at her. She has no idea what I want to do to her right now.
“I am not scared of you, Krinos. I thought I made that perfectly clear. Yes, our family wants your business, but that doesn’t mean I have to like you. Did you know he came to visit me the last time he was in town? He fucked me good, too.” She turns and makes her way up the stairs.
I can’t entertain her any longer. I take a deep breath and I take the three strides needed to get to her, while her back is turned. I duck down and swing my leg out, she drops onto the bottom step and then I pounce on her. She is strong and she gives me good struggle, but I have the advantage. I’m on top and I’m pissed. I finally manage to get her hands above her head and pin them to the ground. I can tell exactly when she realizes that I now have the upper hand, because she stops struggling. However, she is still sending me her evil death stares.
“Do you want to play with me?” I ask, moving as close to her face as possible. I get so close that our lips are almost touching. I’m sure she can feel my warm breath as it ghosts across her skin.
“Get the fuck off of me,” she spits. I use my free hand, hold it up in the air and snap my fingers. Stefanos immediately walks, placing my knife into my hand, which he is carrying for me. Yes, I know, wow! I didn’t have it on me; I think he knew this bitch would be safer without me having quick access to it. He leans down and kisses me quickly on the lips and then stands tall.
