I growled as I increased the speed and hardness of my strokes. The need for her grew. Her breath was coming in sharp pants as my force was pushing air from her lungs with each hard thrust.

“Caleb! Yes! Yes!” she cried out as her body pulsed and squeezed around me with her release.

I could take it no more and gave into the need to let go. My climax took me to another place. A place where only the two of them existed.

“I love you, Emerald. I will always love you.”

I left soft kisses all over her face until her hands took mine in them and she stilled me, making me look at her.

“I will always love you too, Caleb. If you feel you have to lead this rebellion, then I will do as you wish.”

“Thank you. I want you right by my side. Always, right by my side. Together we can show these people how we can all exist together, no one a step ahead, no one a step behind. Together, equals.” I kissed her as I hoped we could pull it all off.

When I was at the castle, Kerr and I had long discussions about the future of The Euthenia Nebula. It was Kerr’s intention to change the way things were done.

Kerr wanted to co-exist peacefully with the Earthlings. Treating the people from Earth as pesky nuisances wasn’t going to cut it, though.

If I could manage to take the palace over, then when the royals arrived back home from their trip to Earth, Kerr and I could work out an agreement that would benefit everyone.

The King would be a problem. I knew he’d have to be taken out, but I would need it to look like an accident. An illness of some kind, maybe.

It was something my mother was working on. A poison they could slip into his food or drink. Or perhaps a germ he could be infected with.

Whatever the cost, things on The Euthenia Nebula had to change. Though not a thing I wanted, the responsibility had been placed squarely on my shoulders and I meant to do my best.

The touch of Emerald’s hands as they roamed over my back brought my attention back to her.

“Have you begun to realize your new home will be the palace, Love?” I kissed her pink cheek.

Her eyes rolled. “Let’s not talk about such things. I am happy here, with you. I don’t even want to think about the other.”

“You have to think about the other, Emerald. You and I will help rule this planet.” I pulled away from her and stood up, taking her with me.

Holding her hand, I led her to the pond just inside the woods. Strolling along naked as the day we were born, as no one was anywhere near where I’d built the small hut, we made our way to bathe.

“The King will never allow that, Caleb. It’s a dream, and I am not into looking at a future that is impossible.” She gasped as I stopped and picked her up in my arms and carried her.

“Nothing is impossible, Love. You’ll see. Very soon you will see.”

She let out a shriek as I jumped into the freezing cold water with her in my arms. “Caleb!”

With a hearty laugh, I asked, “Cold?”

Her teeth were chattering, and she tried to get away from me and out of the cold water. I let her out of my arms but got in front of her so she couldn’t make it out of the small pond.

She giggled and splashed water at me. “This is much too cold. We’ll have to gather water in buckets, warm the water over the fire and then bathe in it.”

I swam to her and took her in my arms. “At the palace heated water flows from spouts like magic. They have a central water system, and all the residents have it in their homes. They refuse to allow us to tap into it or create our own. Were you aware of that, Emerald?”

She ran her arms around me and pressed her body to mine. “I was not. I thought we all wanted to live off the land. You know a simple existence.”

“So you’d rather lug heavy buckets of water just so you can bathe in comfortable temperatures rather than have access to it right in your own home, just like all the other residents of Euthenia have?” I ran my hand through her hair and kissed her cheek.

“Caleb, that’s what we came here for. To live simple lives. It’s not the fault of the Euthenians, and there is no need for us to rebel. We picked this life.” She kissed my lips gently. “Call it off Caleb. Use your experience to talk them out of this. People will die.”

“True, but what about our children? Do you wish them to grow up and live in a world where they’re considered only a bit above animals?” I asked her.

Her brows furrowed with the thought. “I suppose they could go back to Earth if they don’t like the way things are done here.”

I shook my head and laughed. “Your parents didn’t explain things to you I guess. You were too young, and they made the decision for you. Signed the paperwork for you.” I tweaked her nose, and she wrinkled it. “None of us can ever return to Earth. It’s over-populated. We all had to sign away our rights as citizens of Earth to come here. Our children can’t just go back. And there’s no room to if we could.”

“So, what you’re telling me is we are stuck here, whether we want to be or not?” Her expression was one of concern. “Caleb, I had no idea. I honestly thought we could leave if we wanted.”

“Other planets won’t allow us to go to them either. We have to make this place our home forever.” I led her out of the pond as her lips had turned blue, and we began walking back to our little house.

I was sure her silence was because she was taking in everything I’d just told her. She had been left in ignorance for far too long.

Now that she knew the truth, perhaps she’d change her mind about the uprising. Maybe she’d want to help me with the integration that had to happen if the children of all the settlers were ever to have decent lives.

The truth was I always knew this time would come. As bad as I wanted peace, I wanted a place my children could call home and feel a part of. I’d fight for that, kill for that, and even die for that if it came to it.

  Chapter Thirty-One

  Emerald

  The Conspiracy

Evening came, and the three moons were all in small phases, leaving the night dark. Caleb had made a small fire inside the house on the dirt floor.

He and I sat on a blanket beside it. Caleb took a lock of my hair, he seemed mesmerized by it.

“The firelight makes you look even more beautiful. Your hair flickers with the flames, and sometimes it looks like gold flows through it.” As he let the hair fall, he looked into my eyes.

His hand flowed through my long hair, pushing it back off my neck. His lips came to rest on my neck.

I closed my eyes. The softness of his lips as he moved them over my skin and down to the hollow of my throat made me feel warm deep in my stomach.

The sound of the rain beating on the roof came in a sudden burst, and the wind began to blow.

But all I could think about was how Caleb’s lips felt like tiny pillows full of jelly, covered in satin. Never could I have imagined a man’s lips being been so soft.

Caleb’s hands were rough from working, yet he moved them over my skin so lightly, they flowed over my body like water over a stone.

Moving his body to sit behind mine, he straddled me. His long legs on either side of mine. He kissed the back of my neck as he moved his hands around me, cupping my breasts in them. My breath came out in a long sigh.

The touch of his hands on the outside of my dress made my breasts swell with anticipation.

His lips grazed my ear. “I love you, Emerald. Listen to the rain, Love.” He pulled the hair off my other shoulder, running his lips over it, slowly and softly as he pulled my dress down, revealing my silky skin.

The touch of his lips left me dizzy. I let my body fall back against his. His lips ran back up my neck.

Gently he pressed his hand to my cheek, pushing at it, gently, but firmly, making my face turn towards him. His lips found mine, and this time, I felt a pulse in me, begging for his lips to press harder on mine. I moved my head closer so he could harden his kiss.

Caleb moved his body from behin
d mine in such a quick movement that I never felt it until he was in front of me, pulling at my dress as his lips pressed harder onto mine.

His lips left my mouth, only long enough to pull my dress off, and then he was back in front of me. He pushed my back on the blanket as his lips touched mine again, laying his body out next to me.

Forcefully he pushed his tongue out of his mouth and into mine. I moaned with the sensation and stroked his tongue with mine.

As his tongue ran around mine, he moved his hand up to squeeze my breast. He moved his mouth off of mine and down to the breast in his hand.

My breaths were ragged, I ached for his mouth to come back to mine and fill it again.

His tongue licked at my nipple. He pulled the nipple into his mouth, kissing it with his tongue, the same way he’d kissed my mouth.

I ran my hand to the back of his head and held him to me. Then I watched as his head bobbed a bit sucking it and sent an incredible sensation to a place deep inside me.

Caleb released my breast though it was un-beckoned, leaving me to look up at him as he stood up.

I reached out for him to come back into my arms. He began to take his clothes off, his eyes on mine, watching my response.

Thunder crashed outside, the firelight shone out around him as I looked up at him. Standing still in front of me, I knew what he wanted me to do.

My eyes started at the top of his auburn curls I’d messed up as I’d ran my hands through it while he kissed me. His shoulders seemed broader, somehow in the fire’s light.

His skin glistened as a light sheen of sweat covered his body. Darkened eyes looked back at me, reminding me of the storm that had begun to rage outside.

The way his pectoral muscles filled his wide chest impressed me. My gaze moved to his defined abdominal muscles.

Standing at attention, I found his ample manhood ready and waiting. Last of all, I took in his thickly muscled legs and felt my body growing increasingly hotter.

Caleb reached out and pulled the only clothes left on me off. He picked me up and placed me on the bed. I lay naked on the bed as he looked at me.

“You are beyond beautiful, Emerald. I love you. I will never hurt you. You will always be safe with me.” He stretched his arms out for me to come into.

I rose from the bed, letting him envelop me in his arms. His head hung over my shoulder. Pressing my lips to his ear, I said, “I love you, too, Caleb.”

“You’ve made me very happy. Now, I’m going to make you that happy as well, Love,” he said as he gently laid my back on our bed.

My dark blue eyes looked up at him and then closed as his lips touched mine. Gently he pushed his tongue through my parted lips.

A groan escaped me when he left them, making him smile. “I’ll be back to satisfy your need for my kiss, Love. I want to show you what else feels good.”

His lips trailed down my throat. Leaving small kisses between my breasts down to my stomach. Once his lips touched my inner thigh, my hands tangled up in his hair. “What are you doing?” My voice was tense.

“Lie back and relax, you’re going to like it, I promise. If you don’t, just tell me to stop. I warn you to mean it if you do, as I won’t be doing it to you anymore if you ask me not to, and I think you’ll hate yourself if that happens.” His lips touched the small bud at my apex, making me shudder.

He hesitated before kissing it again, lest I felt the urge for him to quit. “Again,” I said, almost too quietly for him to hear.

He smiled and kissed it again, this time letting his tongue flick at it as his mouth fell full upon it.

My hips lifted, begging for his kiss. Warmth filled me. My groans and thrashing let him know I liked it.

Suddenly my body was shaking; I pulled at his hair as I let out a loud groan, almost a scream.

A warm liquid seeped from me and Caleb ran his tongue inside me, lapping at the juices he’d made my body release. He consumed it with fierceness, much like a wild animal.

With a sudden move, he made his way up my body and looked down at me; my eyes were shining with a glow from receiving such pleasure.

His lips fell on mine as he thrust himself into me. I cried out as he entered me. His tongue moved over mine, the same as his hard cock moved inside me.

I began returning his kiss, urgently. He moved faster and harder. He took one arm and placed it on my knee and hoisted it up a bit, allowing him to go a bit deeper into me.

Caleb pulled his mouth from mine. “I want you to stand up.” He moved off me, standing by the bed.

I looked at him with confusion. “What are you going to do?”

“Just stand up. I’ll show you,” he said as he pulled me to stand up.

I did as he asked, facing him. He turned me around in front of him, and then pushed my shoulders, so I leaned over on the bed. Grabbing a fistful of my long hair, he pulled it as he slid back into me from behind.

The difference in how much farther he went into me made us both groan. “Emerald, you feel so damn good.”

Every thrust brought a moan or a yell from me. “Oh God, Caleb! Caleb!”

The muscles inside me clenched at him as my body fell apart. It seemed to be making him orgasm too as he spilled his liquid heat inside me.

He groaned loudly, and then fell on my back, hugging me to him. “That was fantastic. That was so right. You felt so good.”

Out of breath, we managed to get back on the bed. Sweat-soaked and satiated, we held hands and soon both were fast asleep.

The much-needed sleep was a God sent gift as the next day would see us start our trip to the Capital.

  Chapter Thirty-Two

  Emerald

  The Conspiracy

We’d ridden for two days to get where we were. I rode on the back of Caleb’s equine as he led the Earthlings to the Capitol City, the epicenter of The Euthenia Nebula. The place we were about to take over.

  If everything went right.

Capitol City was where all the people from Earth had arrived when they came to the planet. I had been there before, but it had been so long ago my memories seemed to have warped.

All immigrants were registered, physical images were captured, and in the first three years of taking in the immigrants, implants were placed on their wrists to track them.

They stopped that practice as the Earthlings cut them out soon after getting to the settlement. Earthlings did not like to be tracked.

So only physical images and a little bit of paperwork were what was filed for each person who came from Earth to make this planet their new home.

Once documented, all who came in on the ship from Earth were placed on a hover barge and taken to the settlement. The desolate area away from the last civilized town.

The same few sentences ran over and over again as we rode the eight-hour trip on the barge. ‘Do not leave the settlement for any reason.’ ‘Do not come into the towns for any reason.’ ‘Do not procreate irresponsibly.’

Seems like we’d all done all those things. We’d only been here ten years and had quadrupled our original numbers.

I looked around and thought the streets looked shinier than I’d remembered. The silver dust sparkled in the sunlight. I looked at my husband, Caleb, to find the palace looming ahead of us.

It looked like a pearl in the midst of brilliantly colored flowers. The palace was surrounded by gardens, each with its own palate of colors.

On each side of the enormous palace, there were gardens of blue varieties of flowers. Right in front, the color scheme was purple. All the flowers in that garden were in various shades of purple.

The place was very beautiful, and I hoped nothing was going to be destroyed in our take-over. It weighed heavily on me, the attack we were on the verge of.

Things were too quiet as we entered the first city after we left the fields we weren’t meant to cross. No people were out and about as I thought they’d be.

The royals were away and most of their guards, but a few had to have remained. I
wondered where they were.

Why wouldn’t even the regular citizens try to stop them?

It was all too easy and too easy was like too good to be true. Things just didn’t work out like that.

Town after town seemed to be deserted. Not even the bark of a dragon-dog or the purr of a lion-cat could be heard.

Birds still flew overhead now and again. Other than that, no form of life was showing its presence.

The men and women of Euthenia were more muscled than the people from Earth. Though none of the citizens were allowed any weapons, I was sure they could find ways to make some.

The need to see someone, anyone was making my wheels spin. Something wasn’t right.

I wanted nothing more than to live a simple life with a man I thought he wanted that as well. Instead, I found my new husband was a military leader back on Earth, and the people who wanted to take over the planet wouldn’t take no for an answer from the military hero.

Only one week had passed from the day we were married to the day they were about to engage in what would surely be a battle to gain the palace. I still barely knew the man I was married to.

Our nights had been spent making love, and he was a passionate man. I knew that much about my husband. His touch set my body on fire, and I would do anything to stay with him.

I supposed it was love that held me to him. I told him it was anyway. With not any real love in my family, I knew little about the emotion.

Caleb was my family now, and he came with a pack of brothers who followed just behind us. Hundreds of settlers were behind us.

My father and his cohorts were even back there somewhere. All knew they were not to bother Caleb and me. We were the leaders, and we were to be listened to, not spoken to.

Caleb made the rules, and everyone followed. Even his father and brothers, both older and younger did what he told them to without saying anything more than, ‘yes, sir.’
