  I’m lost without you.

Emilia stood up and joined Sherinia at the microphone to sing the chorus together with her. It was the most amazing thing. I felt a tingling and warmth in my stomach and in some other places. I briefly looked around. Martin’s eyes were glued on Sherinia. Marlon had a dreamlike expression on his face and Robin was also staring at Sherinia. But it was clearly the combined voices of Emilia and Sherinia that did the magic. When the song ended there was a momentary silence in the room. And again we began to applaud for this wonderful performance. It was incredible.

I was the first who regained her voice. “That was amazing, absolutely wonderful. Sherinia and Emilia, the perfect duet. Too bad we cannot have both of you.”

I really feel attracted to both of them.

“That was so cool, amazing. With such a performance our gig will blow the audience away,” Martin added. His face was glowing.

“Thank you guys,” Sherinia said through her microphone. “Let’s rock,” she shouted. And we rocked our way through our whole set list. It was awesome. There were hardly any mistakes. Sherinia seemed to work miracles.

When the rehearsal ended the room was hot and stuffy. Everybody was sweating profusely. At some point I had gotten rid of my sweater and was in a black t-shirt. Sherinia had done the same and was now in a black tank top. While Martin and Robin were talking to Sherinia, a smiling Emilia came to me.

“That was awesome, Jenny. I sincerely regret that I have to leave the band.”

“Me too, Em. And I mean it.”

Our eyes locked for an intense moment and again I felt a shudder running down my spine, in spite of the heat in the room.

“I’m looking forward to Friday,” Emilia said in a husky voice.

  “So am I, Emilia.”

Sherinia joined us. “What about having a drink together, girls?”

I shook my head. “I’d love to, but I can’t. School tomorrow.”

“Oh I forgot that our girl here still goes to school.” Sherinia laughed. “What about Friday then?”

  I looked at Emilia.

“Jenny and me will have our farewell dinner on Friday night. Sorry, Sherinia, just the two of us.”

Sherinia looked from one to the other for a moment. Something seemed to dawn on her.

“Okay, I don’t want to intrude on anything,” she said with a smile. “Emilia, are you having a drink with me tonight?”

Emilia nodded. “Okay, then let’s go.”

They both hugged me briefly, took their belongings, and left.

“She’s wonderful, isn’t she?” Martin beamed as he took me home in his car.

“Yep, she is. Are you falling for her?”

“Why not, Blacky? She is one of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen and her voice…Her voice works sheer magic.”

  “I fully agree.”

  “With what, Blacky?”

“That she’s stunning and that she has an amazing voice.”

  “What about the rest?”

  “What do you mean, Martin?”

“C’mon, Blacky, don’t pretend to be obtuse. Could you envision Sherinia and me as a…a couple?”

“I cannot answer this question, Martin. You have to find out for yourself.”

His eyes briefly met mine before his gaze returned to the street. He didn’t say anything else.

I opened the apartment door and the familiar wave of smoke and stale air hit me. I took a few steps down the hallway until I could take a look into the living room. Gnome Manfred sat on the couch with my brother Chris. Mother sat on the armrest of the sofa and had her right arm around Manfred’s neck. The TV was blaring and they were watching a soccer match.

I said “Hi,” turned around, and went to the kitchen. I made a sandwich and took a bottle of mineral water out of the fridge. Then I went to my bedroom. I put the plate with the sandwich and the bottle on my desk. I went back to the hallway, picked up my bass guitar, and went back to my room. As soon as I had closed the door behind me I let out a deep sigh. I sat down at my desk and eagerly drank water from the bottle. After I had eaten my sandwich I went to the bathroom and took a shower. While the warm water ran over my body I realized I was humming a tune. It was something new. I hurried up to get back to my room. I took my guitar and quickly recorded the melody. It was clearly a chorus for a new song. The words to go with it came easily to my mind.

‘So many nights without you babe,

So many times without you babe,

I’m lonely and I need you by my side.’

I could hear it in my head how Sherinia and Emilia were singing it together.

Strange. I seem to fancy both of them.

I was however too tired to elaborate the complete song and went to bed. Before I closed my eyes I checked my cell phone. There was a text from Emilia.

Can’t wait to see you on Friday. Emilia

As soon as I read it my pulse quickened and I felt warmth in my stomach. I texted back.

  Nor can I. Jenny

I fell into an unquiet slumber with lively dreams. I saw long dark-red hair and blue eyes, a pale, slender body entwined with my own. But suddenly blue-green eyes were impossibly close and soft pink lips touched mine. Her hair was light brown and reached down to her breasts. In my dream I could no longer say who was who and which was which. Was it Emilia who sucked my erect nipples or was it Sherinia who gently caressed me between my thighs? At some point I woke up and realized I was wet and ready. I touched myself and I didn’t take long before I came. I could not say if it was Emilia or Sherinia with whom I made love.

  CHAPTER TWELVE – EMILIA’S FAREWELL

The days until Friday dragged on, but school kept me busy. Finally, it was Friday afternoon and I began to prepare for the band rehearsal and my farewell evening with Emilia. I had not had the time or inspiration to elaborate that song idea I had had. I rummaged through my closet to find something I could wear tonight. Emilia had texted me Thursday evening to bring some extra clothes. But what to wear? I wanted to look good for her, attractive, but not too overly sexy. I knew that my legs were not bad, but I wasn’t a girl to wear skirts. It was cold outside anyway. I looked at the clothes in my closet and what I saw was mostly in black or green. Obviously my favorite colors. I had some blue denim jeans as well. But what could I wear for my date with Emilia?

There was a knock on my door. It was my mother. She opened the door and looked into my room. As usual she had a cigarette in her hand. Her lips were a thin line.

“What are you doing?” She barked.

“Mom, please keep out of my room with your cigarette,” I said softly.

She held the cigarette so that the smoke curled into the hallway.

“I asked you what you were doing?”

“I’m getting ready for the band rehearsal and afterwards I’m going out with Emilia. You know, our singer who is going to London. She invited me for a farewell dinner.”

“And what is this bag for?”

  “For a sleepover. I’m staying at Emilia’s.”

“And if I objected? I want you to come home after your so-called dinner.”

“Mom, I’m eighteen. It is really only a dinner, just Emilia and me. I’m not hooking up with any guys, if that’s your concern.”

She looked at me for a long moment. Then she nodded, turned around and closed the door behind her. I let out a sigh. I had been holding my breath. I took a step to my closet again. My eyes fell on a dark-green button down shirt. I took it and packed it into my duffle bag along with a pair of blue denim jeans. I also selected a pair of skimpy black panties and a black lacy bra. I put my only pair of high heel ankle boots into a plastic bag and added it to the clothes in my duffle bag.

For the rehearsal I had on black jeans, a black t-shirt, and my black ‘Evanescence’ sweater. Ten minutes later the doorbell rang and Martin stood outside. He looked at me and smiled.

“Hi Blacky. What are you up to?”
/>   “Hi Martin. Why?”

“You somehow look different today. I don’t know. What’s that bag for?”

“Someone is nosy, huh? It’s for a sleepover. I’m staying at Emilia’s tonight, if you must know.”

  “Girls’ evening?”

“Yep. It’s her farewell. She’s leaving soon.”

  “Will Sherinia also be there?”

“Jesus, are you curious. But no, it will be just Emilia and me.”

The rehearsal was just like the two previous ones with Sherinia. She arrived fifteen minutes late in the wake of Emilia. Both were stunning – as in my dream. Sherinia knew all lyrics by heart now. Her voice filled the room with a magic atmosphere. Emilia sat on the floor and joined her only for a chorus here and there. Like before, the band played tight and hardly made any mistakes. Sherinia seemed to bring out the best efforts from all of us.

I got lost in the music, but when I looked at Emilia I always found her eyes on me and she never failed to smile when our eyes met. At some point I also realized that Sherinia was watching us with interest every now and then.

When the rehearsal ended we agreed to meet up again next Tuesday. Sherinia joined Emilia and me as we were about to leave. She put her arms around our shoulders and gave us a peck on our cheeks.

“Enjoy your evening, ladies. Have fun!”

“Aren’t you leaving with us now?” I asked her because that was the way it had been the times before.

“No, I want to hang out with the guys a bit to get to know them better. See you.”

  She smiled and turned around.

“Buona sera, signorine,” the waiter at the Italian restaurant greeted Emilia and me with a big grin on his face. Emilia had selected a newly opened Italian restaurant in walking distance from her place. She had reserved a table for two for us. A wise decision, since the place was packed when we arrived.

“Mi dispiace, signorine. Your table will be ready in a few minutes. Please have a seat at the bar. A drink is on the house,” the waiter said. He was a handsome guy, type Latin lover. He gave us the typical from head to toe one-over look, and his smile never disappeared.

We sat down on barstools and ordered 2 glasses of Prosecco on the house.

“Salute!” Emilia said as we clicked our glasses. She looked straight into my eyes over the rim of her glass as she took a sip. There was something in her blue eyes that gave me a very warm feeling in my stomach.

After our rehearsal we had taken the tram to Emilia’s place, where we had quickly changed our clothes. I had on the dark-green button-down shirt along with my blue denim jeans and ankle boots.

Emilia had disappeared into the bathroom to change. When she returned she took my breath away. Instead of her leather pants she was wearing a short black leather skirt, black stockings, and a light-blue button-down denim shirt, which nicely fit to her blue eyes and her dark-red hair, which fell freely over her shoulders. Before we left she put on knee-high boots. She looked absolutely stunning and I told her so after I had started to breathe again.

Was that really a shy smile? At least it looked this way.

I looked around the crowded restaurant. It was furnished in a modern lounge style. The walls were painted in ocher and there were photographs from Italy.

“Do you like this place?” Emilia asked as she followed my gaze.

“Oh yes. It’s nice. How did you know that I like Italian food?”

  “I asked Martin.”

  “You asked…Martin?”

“Yes, Martin, he is the one who knows you best.” Emilia smiled and took another sip of Prosecco.

  She is amazing.

I was speechless. I could only smile at her and she smiled back at me. The waiter approached us, again with a broad grin on his face.

“Signorine, your table is ready now. Please follow me.”

I downed the bubbly in one gulp. We got up from our barstools and followed the waiter. He showed us to our table and handed us the menu. Then he asked what we wanted to drink. I ordered an Italian white wine and Emilia a red wine.

“Please feel free to choose whatever you like, Jenny,” Emilia said. She read the menu, but her eyes looked at me again and again. Since I realized it, I must have done the same. Every time our eyes met I began to feel butterflies in my stomach.

“I think I’ll go for the homemade vegetarian lasagna,” I said. “I haven’t had lasagna for ages.”

“Sounds promising. I’ll have pasta with salmon.”

We ordered and began to talk about everything and anything. I hardly realized how our dinner was served. The lasagna was wonderful, but even more so the young woman sitting next to me. I had never realized that Emilia could be so funny. We laughed a lot and I began to feel the effect of the wine. We had already ordered a second round.

Suddenly I realized that Emilia’s left hand was on my thigh. I inhaled sharply and felt a heat wave rush through my body. Emilia turned to me and my eyes focused on her rosy lips, then wandered further down to where the topmost buttons of her shirt had miraculously opened. She pretended not to see my staring at her and leaned a bit forward so I could see her small, but firm breasts – she didn’t wear a bra.

  Emilia is so hot.

The waiter interrupted our moment. Either he did not see Emilia’s hand on my thigh or he chose to ignore it. He asked us if we wanted a dessert.

“We could share a tiramisu, if you like. I can’t eat one alone, I’m stuffed already,” Emilia suggested. I agreed.

“Can I ask you something, Em?”

  She nodded.

“Have you ever, I mean, have you ever been together with Sherinia?” That was the nagging question that had been on my mind for a while.

Emilia’s eyebrows shot up in surprise.

“No, of course not. Sherinia is a good friend, but nothing else. I told you I’ve never been together with a girl before. It is only you, Jenny. I feel attracted to you, I don’t know why. When I’m with you I feel the strangest things.”

  She blushed adorably.

“I feel exactly the same, Emilia.”

She turned to me completely and laid her right hand on mine, her left hand still on my thigh. Our eyes locked.

“I know this shouldn’t happen between us, especially not now that I’m about to leave. But I can’t do anything against it.”

I felt warmth in my whole body and the butterflies in my stomach went crazy. I felt giddy and had feelings deeper down, between my legs.

“I want you too, Emilia, more than I can say.”

And I meant it. In this very moment, only Emilia existed for me, neither Sherinia, nor Lena.

The waiter came with our tiramisu. He looked at our hands and his eyebrows shot up, but he kept his everlasting smile on his face. He put the plate with the dessert on the table between us. Neither Emilia nor I had removed our hands. With a broad grin the waiter turned around and left.

Outside the restaurant Emilia took my hand as we were on our way back to her place. It felt wonderful to walk hand-in-hand with her. After our dessert we both had a Grappa as a digestive and we both got pretty tipsy, which led to giggling and babbling.

We reached her apartment house and walked up the stairs to Emilia’s apartment. It took her several attempts until she managed to open the door with her key. As soon as we were inside and the door was closed behind us, I placed my hands on her hips and drew her in. Our lips met, carefully and tentatively at first. But then Emilia opened her mouth and our tongues began to dance, a slow and passionate dance. I moved my hand into her hair and held her close. It felt so natural, so right, so unlike everything I knew from my past experience with boys. Emilia was an awesome kisser, so soft and yet strong at the same time. A shiver ran down my spine.

“Oh my God, Jenny, I want you,” Emilia sighed in my ear.

“I want you too, Emilia, like crazy.”

  Emilia broke the kiss.

  “Wait a moment, Jenny.”

She lit several candles and put a CD into the player.

  “Want some more bubbly?”

  “Yes, I’d love to.”

Emilia took a bottle of champagne from the fridge, opened it, and filled two long-handled glasses.

“On us, on this night together with you,” I said softly. We clicked our glasses.

“On us, on this night together,” Emilia repeated.

We put the glasses down on her desk and kissed again. This time the kiss was harder, more passionate. I began to unbutton Emilia’s shirt. Her nipples were erect as I touched them. I squeezed her right nipple softly between my thumb and index finger. Emilia moaned. I softly kissed her earlobe and the curve of her neck, while she unbuttoned my shirt. We dropped our shirts and my bra to the floor.

“Bed,” Emilia mumbled during our kisses and caresses. We moved and sat down on her bed. The booze and the heat of the moment made me light-headed. I felt a tingling and warmth in my stomach.

“I want to undress you, Em,” I whispered.

Emilia sighed as I went down on my knees and took her boots off. My hands moved along her long slender legs until I reached her short leather skirt. I found the zipper, opened it and pulled her skirt down along with her black pantyhose. Emilia lifted her butt to help me. Now she was only in black lacy panties. Like in a haze I took my ankle boots off and pulled down my jeans and stockings. We fell down on Emilia’s bed and began to kiss again. My heart raced like crazy and the blood rushed in my ears.

Suddenly Emilia flipped me over and topped me. She began to kiss her way down to my breasts and her lips found my left nipple. She began to lick, suck, and bite on it. A deep groan escaped my mouth. Emilia brought her hand between us and found the wetness between my legs. She gently caressed my labia, before she entered me with two fingers.

“Oh my God, Emilia,” I moaned.

My eyes fluttered shut and I tilted my head back. Emilia moved her mouth southward, kissing and caressing me until her mouth was on my pussy. I moaned loudly again. It was the sweetest feeling I had ever had. I grabbed Emilia’s head and hair with both hands and pressed her head between my thighs to increase the contact. I squirmed under her caresses, but Emilia held me tight, spreading my legs wider and pushing her tongue into me. I felt my climax build and when Emilia licked and sucked on my clit I cried out loud. My legs trembled, something inside me exploded, I went off into outer space. It was the most amazing orgasm I had ever had. When I returned to earth I noticed Emilia held me in her arms and kissed me softly.
