“How did you know?” he muttered against her lips. “How did you know I wanted you like this?”
He couldn’t quite hear her answer, mingled as it was with her frantic gasps as he scissored his fingers around her metal-pinched nipples. But he thought she said “obsessed.” Then it didn’t matter because her body was quaking with sharp spasms, her black hair an ink spill down her back.
“I’m going to come inside you now,” he growled. He wrapped her legs around his waist, feeling her latch on with surprising strength. Looking down at the place where they joined, he ground his cock against her wet, crimson-velvet pussy until she pushed back, just as frantic as he was. Fully, fiercely erect, his shaft had swollen to a size he’d never seen before. He felt gargantuan next to her pale slenderness.
“Ready?”
But he already knew the answer to that, based on her soft, muttered pleas. He positioned his cock at her dripping entrance and pulled her onto him. She was so tight he only went partway. She gave a gasping moan and pushed her hips against him.
“You want me, don’t you, you hot little thing? You’re a beast like me.” He worked himself farther into her, embedding himself halfway. Her slick inner walls sucked at him.
“Yes,” she wailed. “God, yes!”
Her shriek was the last straw. He pounded into her, digging his fingers into the hollows of her hipbones, sinking his cock as deep as it would go. Then he lifted her ass higher in the air, set her at a more extreme angle and drove deeper. The sweet velvety heat of her sent him into a drugged frenzy. Savagely, he plunged into her again and again, as if possessed. Possessed by need, by desire, by obsession.
Obsession, possession. The rhyme brought a laugh to his lips, in the midst of his snarling lust. She’d gotten into his brain, not just under his skin. Obsession, possession, confession.
He felt her channel clench around him. She smothered her cries in the tender flesh of her arm. Her spasms gripped him, pulled him along with her like a river current.
Everything shattered into brilliant sparkles around him. “God, Clare, it’s so good, so good.” He keened the words as pleasure swam through his veins, all the way to the top of his head and beyond. Did his head have a top anymore? Who knew? Who cared?
He waited until her sobbing whimpers had eased, then unfastened her wrists from the bar. He gathered her damp body into his arms and settled her onto the bed. When he collapsed next to her, she spooned her soft body around him. She fit perfectly, but that didn’t surprise him. Everything about the two of them fit perfectly.
For long moments, he savored the feeling of being in perfect harmony with the world.
“I can never let you go,” he finally confessed. “I think I knew it from the very beginning.”
“I did too,” she murmured, boneless against him. “I always know these things.”
“And Luc and Rob?”
He felt her shrug more than saw it. “It’s all right. I’ve been sensing a change coming. Not only for me, but for all of us. Pretty soon Rob will realize he wants to find a girl to marry.”
Interesting. “He won’t want to marry you?”
“I’m not in love with him. I never have been, and he isn’t in love with me either. He deserves love. We have to find him someone good, someone who understands.” She yawned and draped his arm over her hip. “I like how that feels. Your hand is so strong and heavy. Makes me feel…I don’t know…grounded.”
He knew what she meant. After that ecstatic experience, they needed to land back on earth. “What about Luc?”
“Luc…Luc has adventures to go on. Many adventures. He’s still a boy. Where he’s going, I can’t really follow. I don’t want to, and in his heart, he doesn’t want me to either.”
Jack caressed the rise of her hipbone, skimmed his hand into the valley of her lower belly. “So they’re okay leaving you in my hands?”
“Apparently so,” she said cheekily. She bit his shoulder. “They couldn’t trust me with just anyone. They had to put you to the test. It looks as though you passed.”
“I got into Earlton, after all. I know how to ace a test.”
“Did I say ace? Oh no, Mr. Cartwright. I’m a tough grader, you know. You have a way to go before you’re entitled to the word ace.”
“Is that right?” He rolled her onto her back and pinned her arms to the side. “Good thing I’m obsessed with challenges.”
A spark lit her mysterious gray eyes. The tiny scar pulled at the corner of her mouth as she spoke. He could watch that scar for hours, day in and day out. “Obsession can be a beautiful thing.”
