"Well, that I can't take care of," he regretfully informed her with his own chuckle. He watched in a mix of fascination and horror as she devoured her portion of the burgers. The man was only two-thirds through his own part when she finished her last one and hungrily eyes his portion. "I think I'm going to have to cut you off."

"Hey, I'm just trying to get my strength back up," Stephanie defended herself. She turned her chin up and crossed her arms over her chest in the perfect picture of fake insult. "Here I am suffering and you're torturing me." Then she took the worst possible time to let out a loud, full burp. Her cheeks blushed and Chuck rolled his eyes. "See? That means I have room for more."

"Not this time, Boss," he countered as he grabbed at his last one. He gulped it down before she could grab it out of his hand. With their feast over, he collected all the paper wrap remains and packed them back up in the bag. "So you feel ready to get some sleep now?"

"A little better now," she agreed with a firm nod. "How'd you know that's what I needed?"

"Lucky guess," he answered as he shrugged, but the frown on her face told her she didn't believe him. "That, and you ate that Chinese so well the other night I figured maybe you'd still be hungry tonight."

"Well, thanks for saving the day," Stephanie replied with a bright smile. She was already feeling better with all that food in her stomach.

"No problem, but you'd better get some rest," her partner encouraged. "It's just about ten now."

"I think I can manage some more sleep," she teased as she nestled down beneath the warm blankets.

"Want me to shut off these lights?" he asked as he moved over to the door.

"However might you think I can get away with," Stephanie pointed out. "The nurse might not like coming into a dark room and banging her hip on everything."

"I'll just get a few then," he suggested, and he switched off the florescent lights on the far side of the room. The darkness accentuated the large window along the far wall which looked out onto the busy parking lot. "That should do it."

"I really don't know how to thank you," she truthfully answered as she shook her head. "This really means a lot to me."

"No problem," he replied with a flash of a smile. "Just don't go getting all dead on me too soon. You still haven't cut my check for last months pay."

"I'll remember to do it first thing when I get back into the office," Stephanie promised as she rolled her eyes.

"Well, goodnight, Boss," Chuck gave his farewell.

  "Goodnight, Chuck."

Her partner closed the door and she sighed. It was nice to have a full stomach and a dim room to rest in, and she was eternally grateful for Chuck bringing her comfort food and good companionship. She felt like she could fall asleep and not wake up for a few days, but there was one thing bothering her.

It was that damn hospital nightgown.

Stephanie just couldn't get comfortable in the flimsy cloth. She could distinctly feel the lack of a back, and the knot which tied together the sides was angled to dig into her tail bone. Shifting from left to right and up and down only moved the small nob the same directions. After a few minutes of fidgeting she finally gave up and turned her face toward the window. Her bedroom was several stories above the ground and the darkness in the room protected her from prying eyes. The only consolation she found comforting, however, was the beautiful night outside and the faint light from the fading moon. The white orb in the sky was slowly fading from its zenith several nights before, and she regretted seeing that happen. It had such an allure of beauty to it that she found hypnotizing.

So much so that she didn't even notice when she'd sat up and thrown aside the covers. She swung her legs over and tried to grasp the right side of the bed with both arms, but the IV in her arm stopped her. The young woman turned with a growl and grabbed at the fluid tube. With a swift yank she pulled out the needle from her arm and tossed it aside.

  She would not be stopped.

Stephanie slid off the bed and groped her way along the machines and wall until she found herself standing before the large window. The pull she felt wasn't as strong as those of nights past, but the heat which arose within her was enough to cause her to pulse with need. Her breath came out in small, quick gasps as she placed her palms against the cool glass. The moon shined its light down upon her, and she felt as though she were bathing in a rain of sensual pleasure. She leaned into the window and pressed her aching breasts against the refreshingly chilly surface. The sensation made her gasp, and as she rubbed her nipples along the surface she moaned in pleasure.

The gown, however, was getting in her way.

With a growl of frustration she grabbed the front of the cloth and tore it away. She felt the pull of the strings on her back before they broke away. The short sleeves slid off her arms and fell down at her side. She was naked on the floor, but she didn't care. She wouldn't have cared if someone would have seen her right then. All she wanted was the pleasure the rays of the moon promised her.

With her last barrier tosses aside, she pressed her full, swollen breasts against the glass. She rubbed her tits along the cool window and groaned as a current of pleasure rippled through her body. She pressed them harder and faster against the surface and delighted in the wonderful friction.

  "Faster..." she moaned to herself.

Her body was tensing, clawing its way to that peak of ecstasy. She leaned her head back and bit her lip to fight back those cries of joy she desperately wanted to scream to the world. The room flashed with a brilliant light as her world erupted in pure pleasure.

Then she fell down from that high and lay panting beside the window. Her eyes were glassy with the post-orgasmic feeling of soothing calm.

Then someone outside in the hall laughed, and the noise interrupted her revelry. It also broke the spell, and she jerked back from the window as though awaking from an episode of sleepwalking.

Stephanie looked down at herself and gasped. She quickly searched left to right and grabbed at the gown when her eyes lit upon it. In one swift motion she pulled her arms through the short sleeves, but she found because the strings were broken she wouldn't be able to close the back. The panicked woman scuttled back to bed and had just thrown the covers over herself when the door opened.

"Still awake?" the nurse scolded as she stepped into the room. "And did you get up to shut these lights off."

"What? Oh, no, my friend did that for me," Stephanie quickly explained.

"Before or after your husband left?' the nurse asked, and the patient could see she'd been caught in a trap. Then the hospital personnel noticed the hanging IV. "How in the world did that happen?"

"I, um, kinda jerk around in my sleep," the patient lied. "It must have popped out."

"You must have been having one hell of a nightmare to do that," the other woman complimented. She took the needle and carefully reinserted it back into Stephanie's arm. "Now be more careful how you sleep."

"Oh, definitely," Stephanie promised. She was just glad to get away with her lie.

"Well, did you need anything to eat, or did your friend bring you some food?"

"He brought me some food," she sheepishly admitted.

"At least I don't have to worry about your going hungry," the nurse replied with a laugh. She checked her vitals and was a little surprised at what she noticed. "Your blood pressure's a little high. Do you feel okay?"

"I'm fine, just been trying to get some sleep," Stephanie answered as she lay her head down on the pillow.

"Good. Someone will check on you a few times tonight, and then hopefully you'll be well enough to go home tomorrow."

With that bit of encouraging news the nurse left to attend to her other wards. Stephanie turned her head toward the window and the moon overhead. The sensual urge was gone, but she felt uneasy now. It was like there was a strange, foreign pull deep down inside her.

"Just what I need, another problem," she muttered as she closed her eyes for a good night's rest.
