“Beautiful,” the seamstress said, stepping back.

I nodded, agreeing. “What do you think, Caleb?” I asked.

Caleb stood and approached me from behind. He cocked his head, studying me in the mirror.

“This neckline is a little too revealing,” Caleb said. He turned to the seamstress. “Can we bring this up a bit?”

The seamstress nodded. She’d gotten used to taking orders from Caleb instead of me.

“I need to grab some pins from the back room. I’ll be right back,” she said.

When she was gone, I turned to Caleb, poking my bottom lip out in an exaggerated pout. I put my hands to his chest.

“Are you sure it’s too revealing?” I said, sweetly. “I like the sweetheart neckline.”

Caleb slung his arms low around my waist. “It looks amazing on you.” He peeked down at my chest, then tugged the fabric at the neckline. “But this, is just for me.” He leaned forward, giving me a soft kiss. “Though not yet,” he said with a sigh.

My body tingled with warm excitement. I pressed myself tighter against him, wishing I could get even closer. The seamstress returned with the pins. With a groan, Caleb stepped back from me. While the seamstress pinned more fabric across my breasts, I thought that even if I wasn’t getting the wedding dress I wanted, I was getting a husband more wonderful than I ever could’ve dreamed of. If small sacrifices like that were all I needed to make to have him, then I could submit to him for the rest of my life.

  Couldn’t I?

  *

On the day of the wedding, I awoke to heavy dark clouds that lumbered across the sky. Thunder rumbled in the distance, and lightening could be seen from miles away. It wasn’t raining at the church, but the air was wet and stifled. The looming clouds threatened to break loose at any moment.

I was in the bridal suite of the church, surrounded by my bridesmaids and a few female relatives, including my mother, Therese. They fluttered around me, fussing with my hair and makeup, adjusting my dress, and fanning my face when I started to cry. Tremendous thunder shook the floor beneath us, and the lights flickered on and off.

“This is a disaster,” I cried.

“No, no, no,” Danielle said, rushing to my side. “I checked the weather. The clouds should be out of here by the time the wedding starts.”

“Is it raining?” I asked, craning my neck to see out of the window. Danielle moved her body in my line of sight so I couldn’t see.

“Nope, not raining,” Danielle said, shaking her head.

A second later, sheets of water hit the roof of the church. I listened to the torrential downpour outside, and buried my face in my hands.

“You know what they say, honey,” Mom said, placing her hand on my back. “Rain on your wedding day is good luck.”

“People only say that to cheer up brides who’s weddings gets washed away,” I said.

“Well, you’re probably right,” Mom said. “Listen, sweetheart. I can’t find the corsages for the mothers, and the lapel flowers for the fathers.”

“I brought them, Mom,” I said. “Check that table where I dropped all of that stuff.”

“I checked and it’s not there,” Mom said.

“It’s there,” I said, then remembered, suddenly. I’d placed the flowers in the fridge to keep them fresh. When I was rushing out of the house that morning, I’d completely forgotten them. My face scrunched as I was overcome by emotion.

“Don’t cry,” Danielle yelled. My bridesmaids sprung into action. They circled around me and started fanning my face.

“It’s not a big deal, Kristen,” Mom said. “I’ll just send someone to get them.”

I looked to Danielle. “It is a big deal,” I said.

Danielle nodded, then addressed the room. “I need a minute with the bride. You all go get a snack. There’s vending machines down the hall.”

My bridesmaids picked up their dresses and shuffled out of the suite. By the time they were gone, my face was red, and my makeup smeared by tears.

“It’s ruined,” I said, crying harder.

“No, it’s not. We can fix this,” Danielle said. She dabbed my wet face with a tissue.

  “Nothing’s going right,” I wailed.

  “Stop, Kristen. You’re overreacting.”

I bit my lip while Danielle opened the powder compact. “What if I can’t do it?” I said in a low voice.

Danielle stopped what she was doing and looked at me. “What do you mean?”

“What if I can’t live up to his expectations? What if I can’t obey him all the time? What if I’m not good enough?”

Danielle sighed, and started applying powder to my face. “All you need to do is trust in him, trust in God, and you’ll be okay. Look up and let me get under your eyes.”

I cast my eyes towards the ceiling. “Caleb is so perfect. I’m just a ditz who forgets her mother’s corsage on her wedding day.” Danielle turned my face to the side and continued working. “Well, say something,” I plead.

Danielle kept rubbing powder on my face. “I don’t think I’m the person you should be talking to.” She pulled her hand away from me. The look in her eyes worried me.

“No, Danielle. I can’t see him right now.”

Danielle rose to her feet. “Just let me get him. Tell him exactly what you told me.”

I shook my head, furiously. “I don’t want him to see me like this.”

Danielle bent down and took my hand. “Let me give you a bit of advice. If you ever have a problem, don’t deal with it yourself. Bring it to him.” She straightened up. “I’ll be right back.”

The rain poured relentlessly as I waited. I imagined the sidewalk outside flooding with water, and wedding guests getting their nice shoes wet as they walked up to the church. I heard two pairs of footsteps walking up the hallway, and I straightened my posture.

Danielle opened the door, revealing Caleb. He was dressed in a formal tuxedo with a red tie to match the flowers. A sense of peace went over me when I saw his face. He looked like a dream.

Caleb walked into the room, looking at me without saying anything. When he stood before me, he parted his lips and said, “You’re beautiful.”

I laughed and looked down at my lap. “I’m a mess. And you’ve seen this dress a thousand times.”

Caleb shook his head slowly. “You’re still beautiful.” He sat next to me on the couch. “What’s wrong, my love? You can tell me anything.”

Fresh tears trickled down my cheeks as I looked into his soft brown eyes. “Just nerves,” I said, with an awkward laugh. Caleb slipped his finger under my chin, making me look at him. “I’m worried that I won’t be enough for you, that I won’t be good enough,” I admitted.

“You don’t have to worry about that,” Caleb said, quickly. “You are good enough, you’re better. All you have to do is obey-“

“What if I can’t?” I said. “I’m the girl who forgets to turn the stove off, who loses her keys all the time, who forgets to call. You’re going to have to spank me a lot.”

Caleb laughed. “Is that what you’re worried about?”

  I shrugged. “Maybe a little.”

Caleb slipped his arm around my shoulders and hugged me to him. “The point of our marriage, of me making decisions for you, is that all of this is lifted off of your shoulders. You don’t have to worry about a thing. That’s my job.”

They way he put it gave me a profound sense of relief. I wasn’t the one who’d have to worry about being perfect. He was.

“You’re going to be happy,” Caleb said. “We both are. I’ll make sure of it.”

I looked up at him, and he kissed me. When I opened my eyes, I glimpsed outside of the window.

“The sun’s out,” I said, with delight.

Caleb stood and kissed my hand. “I better go. See you out there.”

I took a moment to bask in my happiness before barking for Danielle to come back and fix my makeup.

  The wedd
ing and reception went off without a hitch. The weather cooperated for the most part, with showers on and off. Some of the guests were a little damp, but no one complained. For me, it went by in a blur. All I could see was Caleb, perhaps because I couldn’t stop staring at him. The moment the pastor announced us husband and wife was the most intense happiness I’d ever experienced. Caleb removed the veil from my face, and we kissed for the first time as a married couple. He gave me the most sincere smile, and I felt like I’d float up to the ceiling.

After the reception, I was exhausted from dancing in high heels and wearing my heavy dress, but adrenaline pumped through my veins. Tonight was the night I gave myself completely to Caleb, when we could fully enjoy each other with God’s blessing.

In the hotel where we were spending our wedding night, I changed into some slinky, satiny lingerie. It covered mostly everything, but the thin fabric conformed to my curves, leaving little to the imagination. Caleb drank me in with his eyes, and his mouth hung open.

“I am the luckiest man alive,” he said, kissing me passionately. “Let’s have a toast first. Did you bring the champagne?”

I banged my hand against my forehead. “Oh no. I forgot.” I could clearly see the champagne, still in the refrigerator, on the same shelf as the flowers. I looked to Caleb and giggled. “Do I get a spanking now?”

Caleb glanced at me sideways. “I wouldn’t spank you for such a small infraction.” He furrowed his brows, and his eyes glinted. “Unless you want me to.”

“What? No,” I said, backing away instinctively.

Caleb stepped forward and gripped both of my wrists. “You’ve never been spanked before, and I’ve never spanked someone before. It’s a night of firsts.” He bent down and kissed my neck. “We could get your first spanking out of the way, try it together. What do you think?”

He reached behind me, bunching the lingerie up around my bottom. Hot yearning shot through me, making me want to agree to anything he said. I looked at him with soft eyes and nodded.

“How should we do this?” I asked.

Caleb glanced around the room, then settled on a large, leather armchair. He sat down and patted his lap. I felt a little silly, lowering myself to the ground and bending over his knee. Once I was in position, Caleb ran his fingers down my spine, producing a warm tingling between my legs. Carefully, he pulled the fabric up to my waist, peeling it off of my soft flesh. My eyelids fluttered as he bared my bottom, and I felt Caleb take in a deep breath. He ran his hand flat against the slope of my curves, then stopped to squeeze my flesh.

“Gorgeous,” he uttered to himself. “Okay, I’ll start off slow.”

I nodded, and Caleb raised his hand. When he brought it down across my bottom, there was a sharp noise, but I barely felt a thing. I let him know I was okay, then he spanked me again, harder.

“Ah,” I said, lurching forward. The blow sent blood rushing to my lower my body, heightening my desire.

  “Are you okay?” he asked.

  I nodded, then mouthed, “Harder.”

Hunger flashed in Caleb’s eyes, and he gave me a mischievous grin. I watched as he lifted his hand, higher than before. He brought it down forcefully, and his palm cracked against my bottom. I felt an immediate, sharp pain that gradually subsided into a dull throbbing. The spanking left me panting and wanting more.

  “Did that hurt?” he asked.

  “A little,” I said.

  Caleb raised his eyebrow. “More?”

  I nodded.

Caleb straightened his arm high above his head. When he swung it down, he grunted from the effort. His palm made full contact with my bottom, and the sound it made rang in my ears. The muscles in my thighs clenched together, and my clitoris pulsed. Caleb massaged the sore spot he’d just hit.

“I can’t take it anymore,” he said in a low growl. “I have to have you.”

“Whatever you demand, sir,” I said.

With that, Caleb stood from the chair, lifting me up with him. I wrapped my arms around his neck, and my legs around his waist. His arms were tight around me and he kissed me deeply. I felt like I knew Caleb as well as I knew myself, but I’d never seen this side of him. With his hurried motions, he seemed intent on getting what he wanted, and I loved being the object of this desire.

He carried me to the bed, and I sat on top of it on my knees. In flash, Caleb was pawing at my lingerie, and pulling it off of my body. I heard it rip as it went over my head, but I didn’t care. He stepped back to study my form, seeing me naked for the very first time. It turned me on to have him stare at me abashedly. I could see the effect I was having on him in the bulge growing in his pants. Without taking his eyes off of me, Caleb slowly removed his clothes. I breathed slowly as he revealed his muscular chest, broad shoulders, and toned stomach. He unbuckled his pants and let them drop to the floor. My eyes widened when his cock sprang out.

We looked at each other for a moment, then Caleb lunged towards me, wrapping me in his arms and kissing every inch of my body. He kissed the tops of my breasts and tasted both of my nipples. He grabbed big handfuls of my bottom, and briefly slipped his fingertips in the wetness between my legs. I withered against him, submitting to his touch.

Caleb let go of me abruptly, then pushed me back on the bed. I hit the comforter with a ‘oomph.’ A second later, Caleb was on top of me. He gripped my wrists and stretched my arms over my head, pinning them to the bed. I felt helpless and small underneath him, which only added to the experience. Caleb grabbed my thigh, then lifted my leg and rested it on his shoulder. We locked eyes, and he pressed his hips forward, plunging his cock inside of me.

With that first rush of pleasure, all I saw was bright, golden light. Caleb filled me completely, and it was the most beautiful feeling. The lust and yearning that had been building up inside of me was finally released. Caleb looked down with a smile on his face, then kissed me softly on the lips. His expression grew determined, and he rose up on his knees. He thrust once, hard and deep. I yelped as my muscles clenched around his thick shaft.

Caleb thrust again, and again, and again, faster and faster, harder and harder. My head bounced against the mattress and I clutched at his strong back, trying to hold on as I was overwhelmed by the intense sensations. As the pleasure mounted, I had the feeling of losing control. I fought against it, but the warm, swirling tendrils in my lower belly felt too good. I gave in, and I rose tremendously to climax. I screamed as my back arched, my muscles spasmed. I’d had no idea it could feel so good.

Caleb continued pounding me relentlessly, sending orgasm after orgasm rushing through me. He grabbed hold of one of my breasts, and pumped harder. With one, deep thrust, Caleb groaned, and I felt the warm wetness of his seed filling me.

We looked at each other and broke into giddy smiles. Caleb remained inside of me, and kissed every inch of my face. I pressed my cheek against his warm chest.

See what happens when you give up control? said a small voice inside my head.

  Epilogue

I opened the door to the laundry room, and gasped when I saw the floor covered with sudsy water. It was leaking out of the bottom of the machine, and filling the space rapidly. The socks I was wearing became soaked through as I ran through the water.

“Is everything okay?” Caleb called to me from the living room.

  “It’s fine, honey,” I said.

I desperately tried to stop the leak with a towel, but the water was coming too fast. My feet squished against the floor as I tried to find something that could absorb it all. I heard Caleb walking towards the laundry room, and I froze in place.

His eyes widened when he saw what was happening, then his gaze settled on me and he laughed. I was cowering next to the machine, my clothes soaking wet, soapy bubbles in my hair. When I realized what he was seeing, I had to laugh too.

“What happened in here?” he asked.

“I don’t know,” I said, shrugging. “I ran the washing machine like I always do.”

  Caleb ra
ised his eyebrow. “Like you always do?”

“Oh yeah,” I said, remembering. “Except I used dishwashing liquid instead of detergent. Do you think that’s what did it?”

“That’s what did it when you did the same thing a month ago,” Caleb laughed.

I clenched my eyes shut, cursing myself. “I’m such an idiot.”

Caleb sloshed through the water and stood in front of me. “Maybe I didn’t spank you hard enough last time.” He gave me a wicked smile. I knew a spanking could lead to something more fun.

I stepped towards him, pressing my body against his. Caleb licked his lips as he looked down at my body. I turned towards the washing machine, bending over it and offering him my bottom. Caleb raised his hand in the air. I closed my eyes, waiting for him to spank me.

  Only With Him

It was our last dinner together before Caleb left for two weeks. He was involved with a class action lawsuit against a company based in Santa Fe, and would have to travel there to meet with opposing counsel. We hadn’t been apart for more than a couple of days since we first met, so I didn’t know what I’d do without him for so long.

Caleb had taken me to the nicest restaurant in town. There were white tablecloths on the table, flickering candles, and a simple arrangement of pink peonies and white tulips. Caleb wore the dark blue shirt I loved on him. The deep color set off the richness of his brown eyes, and he always left the top button undone, giving a glimpse of his smooth, muscular chest. I was wearing a new dress, red, with a flattering cut, and a lipstick shade to match. It had taken me all afternoon to get ready. I wanted Caleb to remember me this way when he was gone. But we’d already gotten to dessert, and he hadn’t complimented me yet. He was so distracted, he barely seemed to notice me at all.

“Should we have the chocolate soufflé?” I asked, peering at him through the candlelight.

“Hmm, yeah, baby, get whatever you want,” Caleb said.

“What is it, honey? Are you nervous about the trip?”
