Arriving late at the restaurant, Braelynn hurried inside. Annette would be fuming if she sat there for too long. Opening the glass doors, the wonderful smell of food assaulted her nose. The restaurant was loud with chatter. Walking up to the hostess station, Braelynn announced her arrival and that there was already a table waiting on her. As the hostess began to weave around the tables, Braelynn saw the table Annette was at and took it from there. To her surprise, BJ and Jules were sitting across from Annette.

“Sorry, I’m late,” Braelynn apologized to Annette. “I didn’t know you two were coming out with us tonight.”

“I called them when I thought you might not show. You know I can’t drink and eat alone,” Annette explained.

“Did you get lost between the sheets again?” Jules asked with a mischievous grin.

“Actually, my batteries were dead and I had a hell of a time finding new ones,” Braelynn explained. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was the truth.

  “Close enough,” Jules shrugged.

Suddenly, a group of ladies behind them erupted in cheers and laughter. Braelynn looked passed Jules to see what the commotion was. Ten ladies held up their glasses as they toasted the announcement of a wedding. For a brief moment, Braelynn envied the bride-to-be. It was short lived as she realized marriage for her wasn’t in the cards. No one would want a woman they couldn’t satisfy or have to exhaust themselves trying.

“It still hasn’t gotten any better?” BJ asked taking a sip of her diet soda.

“Nope,” Braelynn shook her head. “I still have to get my jollies off a few times a day or I’m in actual pain. I’m still a sex freak.”

She couldn’t stand it, but she had gotten so used to it that sex no longer phased her.

“Daniel would love that.” BJ smiled.

“For a couple of weeks, he would. It’d be short lived though,” Braelynn informed her.

She knew BJ was only trying to make her feel better. Mostly was a curse not a blessing. The brain damage from the wreck, causing her hypersexuality, was likely permanent. She’d tried having boyfriends, but they end up wearing out like a pack of batteries within two weeks. Then they get mad when she suggested others for the job. Self-satisfaction will only get you so far. Eventually she’d need the real thing.

“There’s a chance things will get better,” Annette reminded her of the doctor’s words.

“It’s been three years,” Braelynn stated dryly. “Things aren’t going to get better. This is what the wreck has reduced me to, a fucking sex addict.”

“You’ll find someone who can match your demands,” BJ said.

“Not likely. Who can keep up with sex demanded at all hours, day and night?”

Another eruption of cheers pulled Braelynn from her thoughts. A shorty lady, not even standing at 5 feet tall with short white hair, stood to make an announcement before she departed. Braelynn hoped the party would be departing soon as well. She came here for a nice evening with a friend. Hearing all the celebrations made her want to throw back a few shots and celebrate too.

“Mam, can I speak with you a moment?” The lady with white hair was standing beside Braelynn. Braelynn looked her over. She seemed regal; her outfit had to cost more than Braelynn made in a month.

“Order a round on me. I’ll be back in a minute.” Not seeing any harm, Braelynn excused herself.

“My name is Gerri Wilder. Please walk with me.” She took Braelynn by the elbow, but she didn’t feel threatened in anyway.

“I’m Braelynn,” she told the woman. “Umm, how can I help you?”

“You see, I run a matchmaking service.” Gerri handed her a business card.

“Paranormal Dating Agency?” Braelynn flipped the card over to check the back. “You’re mistaken I’m not a paranormal.”

“I know that, but your match would be. He’s a shifter.”

“My only encounters with a shifter ended with me being in a coma for three weeks and waking up to be a sex crazed freak. Stay around me for a few hours with no man around. I’ll hump the shit out of your leg.”

Gerri laughed briefly before getting a serious look on her face.

“I promise the man I have in-store for you will never cause you harm. Now, sexual pain is a possibility, more like a probability. However, he won’t hurt you. He should have the stamina you require.” Gerri winked instead of saying anything else as more people walked by.

“I don’t think this is a good idea.” Braelynn wasn’t buying into the whole paranormal not harming her.

“How’s this? Continue your night. Hell, take a day or two. If you’re not satisfied so to speak give me a call. I believe I know exactly what you’re looking for. Don’t answer now, just keep my card. You’ll be calling me soon.”

“I’m glad someone knows what I’m looking for.” Braelynn laughed.

“Trust me, Ms. Summers. I’m a very successful matchmaker. I know what people need before they know themselves.”

“I never told you last name.” Braelynn stated taking a step back.

“I won’t lie to you. I’ve seen you around. Even watched a time or two. I’ve had you two matched for a year now.”

“Then why are you just now coming to me?”

“Because it isn’t until now that your match has accepted my service.”

“So, he was skeptical, too? At least he has that going for him.” Braelynn crossed her arms.

“I understand your skepticism. I won’t bother you anymore on the subject. I’m only offering you a chance at true happiness. He’s hung like a horse and can easily leave you bow-legged in the morning. And with your circumstances, that’s saying something. Give it a chance. After tonight, you won’t hear from me again unless you call me. I’m not a flake. I don’t just randomly throw people together. Think about it. I’ll look forward to your call.” Gerri looked down at her watch. “I really must be going now. Do call me.”

“I’ll think about it.” Braelynn looked down at the business card once more.

She’s bold. Needing a drink, she went inside to join the others.

“Finally,” Annette exclaimed. “I thought she bashed you on the head and threw you in her trunk.”

“And you didn’t come to check?” Braelynn looked at her.

“Nah, we saw you through the windows.” Jules pointed to the window lined wall.

  “I see.”

“No, you were talking; we were seeing.” Annette pointed around the table.

“How many beers have you had tonight? I couldn’t have been out there that long.” Braelynn looked at Annette’s empty beer bottle.

  “Only two,” Annette admitted.

  “Two beers.” Jules laughed.

“She tossed back a couple of shots.” BJ finished off her fuzzy naval. “We waited on you before we ordered.”

“And I didn’t drink your shot.” Annette pointed to the tequila shot in front of Braelynn.

“Only because we stopped you.” BJ laughed.

“Alright, no more until we finish our meal,” Braelynn ordered Annette.

“Not my fault. You were late for dinner.” Annette smiled as the waiter came to their table. He couldn’t have been older than 22.

“Another round, ladies?” He asked with a flirtatious grin. Of course, he’d offer them another drink. The more they drank the bigger his tip would be.

“How about a round of waters for our meal?” Braelynn suggested. Everyone nodded their agreeance.

“Not a problem. Now that everyone’s back together are you ready to order or do you need a minute to look over the menu?”

“By the time you’re back with the drinks I think we’ll have it figured out.” Jules said.

“Alrighty, I’ll be right back with your drinks.” The waiter turned on his heels, greeting other customers as he went.

Braelynn picked up the menu. Her stomach growled and she decided to look for an appetizer. The third on the left was eye catching.

  “What the fu
ck is a boneless pickle?”

“A limp dick,” Annette blurted out. “It’s a misprint it’s supposed to say boneless dickles.”

Laughter erupted from the table. Braelynn couldn’t contain herself even though people were looking at them. She was sure she heard the couple next to them snicker, too.

“I’m curious, what makes them boneless?”

“You’ll have to ask the waiter.” Jules snickered as the waiter walked up with a tray of water glasses for them.

“Here you go, ladies.” He placed the glasses around the table. “Are you ready to order?”

They each in turn told him their orders. No one was too eager to try boneless pickles.

“I have to ask. What are boneless pickles?” Braelynn couldn’t hold it any longer.

“Oh, you’ll love them. They’re fried pickle spears.”

“Are they nice and firm or soft and limp?”

“Umm, they’re firm.” He looked nervous that she would ask him another question.

“Well, are they skinny or do they have… a lot of girth?” Jules asked him smiling.

Blushing the waiter closed his order pad and rushed away.

“Look what you did.” Braelynn turned to Jules. “You scared him away.”

“Me?” Jules placed her hand on her chest. “You started it.”

“You’re all three bad,” BJ butted in. “Changing the subject. What did that lady want to talk about?”

  “A date?”

“Oh, this will be good.” Jules rubbed her hands together.

“Not a date with her.” Braelynn rolled her eyes. “She runs Paranormal Dating Agency. Apparently, she wants to hook me up with a shifter.”

  “Do it,” Annette blurted out.

“I think it’s a fantastic idea,” BJ agreed.

“Shifters are hot.” Jules fanned herself. “I say do it.”

“If you think they’re so hot, why don’t you date one?” Braelynn asked.

“Because I’m satisfied with my normal human boyfriend,” Jules explained.

“I could find a good human man,” Braelynn playfully pouted.

“Of course, you could sweetie,” Jules told her. “But is a human enough for you anymore?”

“I told her I’d think about it. She did say he was hung like a horse.” Braelynn shrugged trying hard to hide the excitement from the thought of this mystery man’s thickness between her legs.

“All the more reason to give it a shot,” Jules insisted. “If it doesn’t work out with him maybe she can hook you up with a vampire. They don’t need sleep. I don’t think they even get tired.”

“Yeah, don’t you guys remember the last shifter that pursued me?” Braelynn pointed to her head. You could just make out one of the many scars she had as another reminder of the wreck.

“Braelynn, Mason has been banned by the alpha. He is nowhere around. Don’t hold the other shifters accountable for what one did.” Annette put her hand on Braelynn’s shoulder. “Have you seen him in the last three years? Besides, we didn’t say you should date Mason. Just that you should give the shifters a chance.”

“Are you meeting up with Gary later?” BJ asked Braelynn.

“No, he doesn’t want me calling him for a few days. He said he’s tired and that he should have me on a limit. He was an ass about it, too. I won’t be calling him again. Let him get his own jollies off. He wasn’t that exciting in bed anyways. He did get the job done, just not well,” Braelynn explained.

That’s how it always happened. They’d start out hot and heavy. Men claim they can keep up with her but never can. They ask for a break, then they won’t call, won’t answer. Cutting her loses, she’d move on to the next, hot willing body. She couldn’t help it. It was just the way things were now.

“I’ll probably hit up Heads N’ Tails on my way home,” she admitted. She frequented the club when she didn’t have a steady man in her life. Right now, was one of those times.

“Didn’t you go there yesterday?” BJ asked her.

“Yeah,” Braelynn answered. “When you don’t have a warm body in your bed you have to do the next best thing and go get you some.”

“Oh, what about Adam?” Annette reminder her. “He was always willing.”

“Yeah, he was,” Braelynn agreed. “It just did nothing for me. I had to go home and finish myself off. If it’s gonna be like that then I’d rather start and finish by myself.”

“So, what you’re saying is, he’s a boneless pickle?” Jules asked giggling.

They burst out in laughter as their meals arrived. Strangely their waiter wasn’t either of the two that delivered their food to the table. They halted their conversation until the waiter left.

“See, I told you, Jules. You scared him off.” Braelynn pouted. He was nice to look at. “We won’t even see him for the rest of the evening.”

“He’s too young for you anyway,” BJ warned.

“Hey, if he’s old enough to buy me a drink then that’s plenty old enough for me.” Braelynn cut into her medium-rare steak.

  “I agree.” Annette laughed.

As they ate, they held minor chit-chat. She was able to keep the conversation away from her and her sex drive. Though it wasn’t far from her mind. Scanning the restaurant, she looked for available men. Seeing nothing of interest, she turned her attention back to her steak. Thankfully, she’d be going to Heads N’ Tails afterwards. Already her clit was throbbing, begging for a release. She’d just taken care of herself a little over an hour ago, and her brain was telling her body it was time for another.

Wiping her mouth with her napkin, she pushed her empty plate away. Dinner was excellent but she needed some dessert and not in the form of food. Braelynn spotted the waiter coming in their direction. At least he didn’t run off and clock out,

“Would you like me to take this out of your way?” The waiter picked up her plate as she leaned back and nodded. She wouldn’t mind if he took her.

“Are you ladies ready for some dessert?” he asked.

“Hell yeah,” Braelynn thought out loud. Since he wasn’t on the menu, she’d settle for a drink. “Oh, I’ll take mine in the form of a screwdriver.”

“I’ll take another glass of Moscato.” Jules followed with her order.

“I’ll take another Fuzzy Navel,” BJ replied.

“I’ll have a glass of Merlot,” Annette smiled up at him.

“Got it.” He picked up the plate in front of Annette. “I’ll be right back.”

Braelynn watched as the waiter walked away. It only took him a few minutes before returning with a tray full of drinks. As he passed the drinks out Jules nudged Braelynn then nodded to the waiter.

“So, have you tried the boneless pickles?” Jules asked the waiter as he set BJ’s drink in front of her.

“Oh yes, they’re good,” he replied with a smile.

“How do you eat a boneless pickle?”

“I suck on them like my momma taught me,” he snapped back with a smile. The next moment he blushed and rushed off again.

  “Honestly, Jules.”

“What? You know you like to watch him squirm, too,” Jules admitted tossing her hair back.

“Yeah, I also can’t watch if he keeps running away.”

“Okay, that was my last question anyway.” Jules picked up her wine glass.

“You can’t ask anymore anyways, he left,” Annette stated the obvious.

Twenty minutes later, it was time for Braelynn to get out of there. Annette had leaned over towards her and whispered. She hadn’t realized she was rocking her hips, grinding against her seat until Annette pointed it out. She’d hoped she’d have a few more hours with her friends. Once again, the wreck had caused her an evening with friends.

“If you need to leave, we understand,” BJ assured her.

“I don’t want to leave, yet,” Braelynn replied.

“We know you don’t want to,” Jules stated. “Isn’t Heads n’ Tails just a few blocks from here?”

  “Yeah,” Braelynn answered.

“Why don’t you go ahead and see what’s popping down there?” Jules suggested. “We’ll be here for a while if you want to give us a call when you finish.”

Feeling the need for a release, Braelynn agreed. Settling her bill, she paid for a couple of rounds of drinks for her friends. Hopefully that would hold them for a little while. On the way out, she noticed their waiter carrying some plates to another table. Braelynn winked at him just to see his cute face blush once more.

Knowing her car was safe in the parking garage around the corner, she walked the three blocks to the building where Heads n’ Tails was located. From the outside it looked like a business building. Hidden within, were different levels of restriction. Braelynn didn’t know what was on all the other floors, but her mind explored a few possibilities. To go anywhere within the building, you had to sign in and show your membership. Walking in the front doors, she was greeted by the receptionist. Even though she has known Kiya for nearly three years, she still had to check her card.

“You’re all set.” Kiya gave her card back. “There’s some cuties in there. It’s your lucky night.”

“Good, I need to see a little candy tonight.” Keeping her membership card on hand she headed for the elevator.

Getting into the elevator, she slipped her membership card into the key slot. The doors closed and the elevator started, taking her to the third floor. There weren’t any buttons to press for the floor you wanted. It’s all in the membership cards. A small jolt followed by a soft ding told her she’d arrived. She pulled her long black hair from behind her ears just as the elevator doors opened.

The light in the club was much darker than the elevator. A short hall opened up into the club. Kiya was right, there were some cuties in here tonight. Heading towards the bar, Braelynn looked around the large open club space. Men and women in groups, couples, and singles were scattered around. Everyone having their own good times. Some dancing out on the dance floor, rubbing and teasing their partners. Breasts were exposed and nipples were pinched. Heads n’ Tails didn’t discriminate on sexual preference, and neither did she. Taking a seat on the bar stool she couldn’t help but notice the two gentlemen embracing at the end of the bar. Oh yeah, she was definitely in a fun place.
