  SHARING IS CARING

“Are you going to go back to your town?” Kyra asked Adam.

  “I’m not sure,” replied Adam.

“How can you even consider going back there? Didn’t you hear Charlie and Beatrice plotting to steal your diamonds with Owen and Cyrus?” asked Lucy.

“Yes, I heard it.” Adam was confused. He liked his new town and didn’t want to move because some criminals threatened to steal his diamonds. But he also missed having trustworthy neighbors like Kyra and Steve.

“You can come and stay with me until you figure out where you want to live,” suggested Kyra.

“That’s very nice of you,” Adam said. He was happy to have such a good friend. “But I’m not sure I want to go back to your village.”

“Is it because of everything I did?” asked Thomas.

“Well,” Adam stuttered, “it’s not all because of that, but—”

Thomas interrupted, “I’m going to go back to the village. I want everyone to see how much I’ve changed. And when I get back to the village, I’m going to give up my diamonds to the people who live there. I was a menace there and I think giving up these diamonds is a great way to repay everyone.”

“You’re going to give up all of your diamonds?” Lucy was shocked. They had worked so hard for those diamonds. Yes, Thomas did cause a lot of trouble but giving up all of his treasure was a real sacrifice.

“I think that’s a great idea,” said Steve.

  “Thanks.” Thomas smiled.

“If you want,” Steve told him, “you can stay with me in my house.”

“I can stay with you?” Thomas was both surprised and happy.

“Yes,” Steve looked at Thomas, “I trust you.”

Thomas was excited to return to the village.

Kyra said, “Well, Steve it looks like we have our old neighbors back.”

“Yes, we do,” replied Steve and then he looked at Henry, Lucy, and Max. “Is there any way we can convince you to come back to the village with us?”

Henry paused and then replied, “We’d love to, but we have our hearts set on an ultimate adventure.”

“Yes, it’s going to be epic,” added Max.

“We’re going to build a house underwater and hunt for treasure from ocean monuments.” Lucy was excited as she talked about their plan.

Adam walked over to them and handed them bottles of potions. “This will help you with your treasure hunt. It’s the potion for water breathing.”

“Thanks!” Henry was thrilled since this was an extremely useful gift.

“When you’re done with your underwater treasure hunt, please come visit me on the wheat farm,” said Steve.

“We will,” Lucy said as a goodbye.

Steve was sad to say goodbye to Lucy, Henry, and Max.

As the group parted ways, Steve, Kyra, Thomas, and Adam walked along the water while Lucy, Henry, and Max drank the potion and dove into the deep blue ocean. Steve and Kyra looked back to see their friends, but they were already deep under the sea.

Steve and Kyra were happy to be heading back to town with lots of diamonds and some old friends.
