Intimate Geography Page 25

by Tamsen Parker

“Crispin…” He can give me permission or not, but I’m coming soon regardless.

“Come on, India. Come for me. I want to feel you come on me.”

My cry of release overlaps with his last words, and I shudder beneath him, my limbs fighting hard against each other in their bonds. While my orgasm is burning out, he finds his, burying himself inside me a few last times, the pressure almost giving me the idea I could go again. But when he’s finished, I feel complete, not frustrated, and I flop down when he releases me.

He collapses beside me, and I use the last of my energy to snuggle closer under his arm. But he has other ideas, looping a finger through the ring on my collar and pulling, using his other arm to roll me to a straddle. When I’m resting on top of him, my head tucked under his chin, he tugs at my collar again.

  “I like this.”

I nuzzle his chest with my cheek, enjoying the coarse hair against my skin. “I love it. I love you.”

He lets go of my collar to put his arms around me, holding me close, laying a kiss on the top of my head. I close my eyes and deepen my breath. Our heartbeats settle to beat in time.

  Thank you!

  Acknowledgements

I’m fortunate to have a long list of people to thank:

My CPs and betas who very generously did not hunt me down and hold me hostage until I finished this book, though I did get several outraged emails—my favorite kind. Much gratitude to AJ, Megan, and Lexi H.

My other writer friends who have been there for the overflow of anxious emails. My small corner of the Twitterverse, my NECRWA chaptermates, and Romancelandia as a whole. Thanks for welcoming me with open arms when I showed up and said I wanted to play, too.

Mr. Parker, who has been a bit perplexed by all of this, but nevertheless supportive and enthusiastic. And Kidlet, who will sometimes say with the gravity only a three-year-old can muster, “Mommy is working.”

My real-life friends, who are likely experts on self-publishing now whether they wished to be or not: RMW, MTS, AJ, LG, NW, AL.

My editor, Del, who reminded me that my readers are neither psychics nor detectives, and my copy editor, Rebecca, who fixes my grammar without crushing my voice. Also my eagle-eyed proofreader, Michele, and my cover designer, Amber, who once again demonstrated not only a great deal of talent but exceptional patience as well.

And last, but certainly not least, my readers and reviewers! Thank you for taking a chance on a debut author. There are so many books out there, and I’m delighted (and not a small bit bewildered) that you chose to spend your time and resources on mine.
