Shaun said, “There isn’t enough to share? I came a long ass way to get here.”
The man shrugged opening the door. “You don’t look like you are going to live long. Why should I waste my food on you?”
Shaun pushed up from the ground staring at the man’s blade and seeing that there’d been no use for silencers or gun powder. He said, “Do you think that you could teach me? I’ve driven from a long way away. I want to teach people how to kill the dead.”
The man stopped opening the door gaining a little bit more respect for the young boy. He said, “What do you know of the dead? Where did you get such weapons?”
Shaun said, “For the last year I’ve been in Iowa living with a group. We've been doing one thing and that has been killing the dead. When things went wrong I decided it was time to move on and teach others how to do it. It is not hard if you have the equipment to do it. They feed on flesh, and blood. If you have one of those that is all that you need to succeed.”
The man said, “If I teach you, will you learn?”
Shaun said, “If you teach me I'll do whatever you want. What is your name, sir?”
“You can call me, Mr. Li, and you can call this your first weapon. It is a Katana. You need to learn how to be quiet. Do you have any questions?”
“Are there others still alive here, Mr. Li?”
He shrugged and said, “Thousands, they need to be found.”
Shaun pushed up grabbing his gear and followed the man ready to start the next part of his education.
