Nothing To Lose Page 22

by RaeAnne Thayne

Ripples and waves, she thought. One event touches off a chain reaction that changes lives forever.

She hated what Hunter had endured but she couldn’t bear the thought of never having Wyatt in her life, or the hole that would never have been filled if the McKinnons hadn’t found Kate.

She wondered if Hunter would find comfort that at least some good had come from his ordeal.

“I love you,” she murmured, savoring the heat and tenderness her words sparked in Wyatt’s eyes. His return kiss held love and joy and promise.

A moment later, they heard the sound of a car pulling up outside, then the slam of a door. Her stomach tied itself in knots again.

“There’s your brother,” Wyatt said. “What do you say we go welcome him back to the world.”

It was the perfect thing to say, she thought as those knots untangled again. Taylor smiled at this man she loved so much, then grabbed his hand and walked out into the sunshine.
