I almost wished that we were back to the silence that had hung over the car for what felt like forever, but kept my mouth shut. And laughed, because while the joke was insanely zany and bad, Nate was right.
Everything was right with the world today. At least with my little slice of it.

Third time’s the charm, they say. I hope that you had a great time reading this novel because I had a blast writing it.
We’re halfway through the series now. Yes, you read that right, there are six books altogether planned. There may be some cliffhangers looming ahead but I’m dedicated to getting the books to you as quickly as possible, so don’t worry. Except for the characters.
What I love the most about dystopian and post-apocalyptic scenarios is how they deal with the survivors and the hard choices that they are facing. Do they try to rebuild society? Are they erecting a new world order? Is what comes later based on freedom or oppression? Can one exist without the other?
Then again, I do enjoy a good fight scene, so this series will certainly not become too philosophical. I wouldn’t have given one of my main characters a shotgun if that had been the plan.
So buckle in and tighten your seat belts because the ride from here on out will be fast and quite bumpy.
As always, I have my share of people to thank. Foremost, the guy in my life. We would die so damn quickly if the zombie apocalypse happened today, but at least we’d do it together. Shayla and Jaana for still being my friends after pre-reading this novel for me. My editor and cover designer—without them this novel wouldn’t be as great and appealing as it is.
