Lost and Found (books 1-3): Small-Town Romantic Comedy Page 55

by Elizabeth Lynx

“Mmm.” I nodded and focused on Shelby, who was happily stuffing her face with the eggs and getting it everywhere, including the top of her head.

I felt equal part relief that Mica bought my excuse for the coffee and equal part disappointed in myself for lying to him.

He’d been nothing but honest with me from the beginning. Even if the first time I met him he was rude in his honesty; it was still the truth.

And here I was, not telling him that I had agreed to sell his coffee to the resort. I even gave them the rest of the samples we brought with us to tide them over until we could ship more.

I wanted to tell him yesterday during our stroll through the grounds with Shelby, but every time I started to bring it up, Shelby would do something adorable, or he’d talk about the importance of family and trust. And I’d shrink back and end up discussing the architecture of the building or the beauty of the outdoors or something benign like that.

Mica looked around. “I think everyone has the coffee. I can’t imagine they had that much left over. It’s not as if we gave them—”

“I sold them the coffee,” I blurted and spilled a little of the coffee from my cup in the process.

Shelby started to give a speech in nonsense words, but I noticed they were directed at me. Even she was berating me for my actions.

  “You what?”

I couldn’t look at him. I knew he was seething; it was all there in how he spoke. The anger. The disappointment. Mica hated me.

Damn. I had only got one orgasm out of him, and it was fantastic. I was so looking forward to full-on, mind-blowing sex with him. We had been busy with the meeting and Shelby that it hadn’t happened yet.

And now, it never would. His magic fingers and glorious lips, and I was assuming, fantastical cock, would want nothing to do with me anymore.

If I was going down in burning flames of disappointment in his eyes, then I might as well get it over with.

“When I went back into the meeting after you left, I negotiated new terms,” I said and swallowed, barely able to make eye contact with his powerful brown eyes that were so dark they looked like his coffee.

  “What sort of terms?”

“Uh.” I looked around, praying for fire to erupt so we’d all be forced to evacuate. Not that it would erase this moment, but it would give me time to think of something more soothing. Like they held me at gunpoint and forced me to sign the contract.

No, that would be another lie. It was time for the truth.

“I started off wanting to follow through on telling them no. Letting them know your wishes. I explained that much like The Blue Spot was Rock’s baby, Fire Lake Coffee was yours. It would be impossible for you to give it up. That the only way for you to agree to the terms would be non-exclusivity. That you would need the coffee to remain Fire Lake and be able to sell it to the people where you’re from. I went on to explain that you already had a contract with some local businesses in Fire Lake, where you’re from. That it wouldn’t be right to pull out abruptly.”

He nodded. “It sounds like you explained exactly what I thought. How did you go from there to me selling them the coffee?”

“It was the funniest thing . . .” I tried my best to laugh to make light of it, but he wasn’t smiling. My laughter caused his frown to deepen.

“After I explained it to them, they took a moment to talk amongst themselves. I sat there trying to hear what they were saying, but they spoke in hushed tones. When they turned back to me, Rock smiled and agreed to my terms. That Fire Lake would keep its name and be able to sell to the local businesses in Fire Lake, Maine, but other than that, it would be exclusive to The Blue Spot.”

I winced. It was a preemptive wince. Preparing for the wrath in whatever form it took. I had seen Mica irritated and frustrated, but I had never seen him angry. What if he was one of those people who threw things? Maybe it was best I found out now. I could never be with a violent person.

I gazed over at Shelby. If he was like that, I’d have to help that little girl. There would be no way I’d accept that sort of thing with a child around.

But Mica didn’t throw anything. He didn’t even stand and storm out of the room. He sat there quietly, with his hands folded on the table in front of him and stared at his coffee cup.

I almost wished he would throw something at this point because the silence was more unnerving. My stomach twisted the longer he sat there saying nothing.

  “Say something,” I whispered.

My eyes began to burn, and the quiet made the shame heavy on my shoulders. It was suffocating me. I tried to inhale, but I could only gasp.

Turning my head, I lifted the napkin and dabbed at the corner of my eyes.

“You did it,” Mica finally said.

His voice was so low I almost missed it in between my gasps.

“I did?” I gulped the air and turned to him, ready to face whatever harsh words he had for me.

But what I found when I turned back was not a man filled with rage, but a face split with a smile so big, I wondered if I had been transported to another dimension where Mica wasn’t angry with me.

“I can still sell to Fire and Ice Diner, and I get the two hundred grand. You actually did it.” I didn’t think it was possible, but his smile grew.

  “You’re not mad at me?”

He shook his head and leaned over, throwing his arms around me. “No . . . I mean, yes, but ultimately, no.”

I pulled back and took a hard look into his eyes. “Do I need to call the doctor? Are you okay?”

Maybe he was having a stroke. That would explain the unusual behavior.

“I’m fine. I’m happy. I got the money and it’s still my business, not some wealthy billionaire’s. All is well.”

“But you were thinking of selling up and down the East Coast. That can’t happen now.”

He waved me off. “That would have been a lot of work and time away from Chloe and Shelby. It was a backup plan anyway. Now, I can go home and not take time off this summer to find those businesses to sell my coffee to. In fact, I might widen my scope a bit then to just the diner.”

“The contract you have to sign would make it impossible for anything outside of Fire Lake,” I said and bit my lip.

I was relieved he wasn’t angry at me, but maybe I went too far. Now he was eager to expand his business. Talking Rock into accepting Mica’s hometown was one thing. Fire Lake was far away and quite rural, so it wasn’t a competition to The Blue Spot. The chance of a billionaire tasting Mica’s coffee both at the diner in Fire Lake and The Blue Spot was slim, if not impossible.

He couldn’t go outside that town. It would make the contract null and void.

He sat back and took another sip. “I haven’t signed it yet.”

Now I was completely confused. Mica wasn’t angry for negotiating a deal, but he still wasn’t going to sign?

“So, you don’t want the contract?”

“I don’t know.” He shrugged. “I’m thinking, if these billionaires want the coffee that badly, maybe it’s worth more than two hundred thousand . . . like ten thousand more.”

Before I had a chance to explain the contract in greater detail, Rock came up to our table.

“Enjoying our new coffee.” He winked at Mica.

“Actually, yes. It’s mighty tasty if I do say so myself.” Mica gave Rock a smug smile.

“I should hope so for what we’re going to pay for it.” Rock chuckled and motioned toward the empty chair beside Mica, silently asking permission to join us. I nodded, as did Mica.

  “About that—”

“Before the many questions you probably have, Mr. Angrov, about the specifics of the deal, I wanted to take a moment and thank you both. When Bea mentioned that Fire Lake Coffee was your baby, it made me realize how important it was for you. The one thing I focused on when I bought this place was filling it with furnishings and items that weren’t just expensive but made with heart. Craftsmanship. You put your heart and soul
into these beans, and it shows. I couldn’t take that from you. It’d be like someone coming here, buying The Blue Spot but still letting me run it. I wouldn’t have that connection anymore.”

Mica nodded and gave me a wary glance.

“So, when Bea here asked for three hundred thousand for a year’s contract of Fire Lake Coffee, I had to say yes. I was in search of the best craftsmen, and I found it in you and the most delicious coffee. I couldn’t pass it up.”

I blinked and held my breath. How would Mica take that? Would he be angry I didn’t stick to the number he said? Would he be more likely to walk away because to him, it’s just another rich outsider taking what he made and exploiting it.

I had learned some things about Mica over the past week and a half since we met. And it seemed he didn’t like outsiders. And he really didn’t like rich outsiders.

He was kind of like Carter, my sister’s fiancé, in that matter. But really, Carter had no room to talk about that anymore—considering who he’s related to.

“I’ll let you three,” Rock looked at Shelby and smiled, “enjoy the day. We can sign contracts tomorrow and figure out delivery times and all that. In the meantime, enjoy the resort, and I know Dan and Gabby have been hoping to see Shelby again.”

He stood and was about to leave when Mica told him to wait. Here it comes. The final blow. I was a fool to believe that landing this contract would be easy. That I’d whip up to Maine and have the Angrovs falling at my feet with the idea. Then I’d take a quick trip to The Blue Spot and land the deal in no time.

This had been the hardest, strangest, and at times, most frustrating deal I had ever made. And, in just a few seconds, Mica would throw it all away.

“Thanks for the wonderful stay,” Mica said, and my smile turned to cement as that would be the only way it would stay on my face. If I didn’t move, maybe I wouldn’t cry.

“No problem. You two are welcome anytime.” Rock nodded.

“I just have one question . . .” Mica asked, and my grin faltered.

  “Yes?”

“Would you mind if we stayed a few days after signing the contract? I was hoping for a small holiday for me and my niece.”

“Of course. We don’t have guests coming for a few months. I’d love it if you two tried the amenities that are ready. Give us feedback so we can improve things.”

With that, Rock left, and I was frozen in place once again.

“You look like you’re about to faint,” Mica said as he turned to me.

If I did, I would be fainting in joy.

  SIXTEEN

  Mica

“You swear you’re not angry?” Bea asked for the tenth time in the last hour.

After breakfast, we took Shelby up to the babysitters. As Rock had said, both Gabby and Dan were excited to see her. They had recently hired a physical therapist and she had been working with my niece.

I thanked her for helping with Shelby. The physical therapist, Julia, gave me some exercises for me to try with Shelby at home. If her diagnosis was cerebral palsy, these exercises would help with the stiffness in her muscles and build up her strength in her legs.

With all the help I had received here at The Blue Spot, I was ready to move into one of the rooms permanently, but that wasn’t an option as the cheapest room was five thousand a night.

“I swear I’m not upset. I was when you first said you agreed to sell my coffee, but once you told me the deal and, especially, how you got three hundred out of them, I was ready to fall to my knees and give you as many orgasms as possible.”

Bea smirked as she kicked off her heels and moved toward the couch in our room.

She glanced over her shoulder with a smile. “Is that so? I won’t say no to that.”

I wanted to have sex with her yesterday, but with Shelby, it’s not always possible to get alone time. My plan was to spend the rest of the day in bed with Bea, naked.

“Just name the place,” I watched as she untied her blue wrap dress, “and I’ll be ready.”

Her dress hung open, giving me a peek at her blue lace bra and panty set. My cock twitched as she rubbed her chin, and I stared at what I was about to taste.

  “Maybe we start right here.”

“Wherever you want.” I started to unbutton my dress shirt. When we first arrived, Bea gifted me with a dinner jacket, a suit, and a few dress shirts. I refused the shoes. Normally, I’d refuse the clothes too, but I understood it would be beneficial for me to walk into the meeting with a nice business suit than my navy sweater and jeans.

And the clothes she got me fit perfectly. I thought they’d be uncomfortable, but they weren’t.

My shirt was on the floor, along with my pants and everything else except for my black boxer briefs.

I stepped forward and tugged at her dress. I inhaled her scent and my cock twitched at the honeysuckle and lavender smell. A groan escaped from my throat as I watched her dress fall to the floor.

I placed my hand on her shoulder, her skin so soft, softer than I remember. My finger curled and tugged her strap until one of her beautiful, perfect tits was there, ready to be kissed.

Bea gasped as my fingers slid over her hard nipple. “Should I stop?”

“No.” Bea stepped forward until her chest rubbed against my stomach.

She fluttered kisses over my chest, and I was struggling to hold back, tearing everything away and taking her.

It had been so long; I wanted to enjoy every second of this moment.

She reached behind her back and unclasped her bra. It stayed in place, but that was due to my body. There was something I liked knowing that if I took one step back, she’d be topless. I wanted to torture my cock until it dripped, waiting for that gift.

My fingers slid down her smooth back until I had her ass in my palm. She squeaked as I pushed her into my rock-hard cock.

“I want to see all of you,” she said and stepped back, presenting me with her tits. Bea curled her finger into the waistband of my boxer briefs. Electricity shot up my body and back down into my balls as her finger swiped over the tip of my cock.

“Of course.” I stood there as she pulled down my underwear. Her eyes widened, and she fell to her knees. Bea didn’t ask; her hand wrapped around my cock and when her lips kissed the tip, my eyes rolled back into my head.

Bea was beautiful and sexy and smart, and at this moment, I felt like the luckiest man in the world. I reached back and held the wall as she pushed my cock past her lips, deep into her mouth.

“Fuck.” My fingers curled into her hair and I tilted her head up so I could watch my cock glisten as it slid in and out of her wet lips.

I would use that mental image for a long time. I had no idea how long this thing between us would last, but this moment would never leave my mind.

My hips began to undulate, and I knew my balls would tighten soon.

I pulled back, more like stumbled back.

“You’re beautiful.” I wanted to say more, but I was having trouble with words.

As much as I wanted to stand and soak in the perfect swell of her breasts, curve of her hips, and her swollen lips, I had to touch her.

But she beat me to it. Bea slid down her panties, put her hands on the arm of the couch and gazed back at me, her ass in the air.

“Well, you going to stand there or run into the bathroom and grab a condom?”

Right. I shook my head and probably set a world record for how fast I got that condom.

As I stood behind her, with Bea’s perfect apple ass in front of me, I held off putting on the condom. I had to get one more taste. I fell to my knees and slid my tongue between her folds. She moaned and moved her thighs. I smiled as I lapped up her wet pussy.

Once I placed two fingers inside her, she instantly began to spasm. Bea came quicker than I suspected. I guess she wanted this as much as I did.

“Mica, please, fuck me,” she moaned.

I kept my fingers pumping inside her and used my teeth to rip open the wrapper
of the condom. It took some skill, but I managed to roll it on my cock.

Removing my fingers, I placed my cock right at her entrance. Slowly, I pushed inside, groaning as her soft, warm, tight pussy sucked me inside. It wasn’t long before I was in to the hilt.

I fell forward but caught myself on the armrest. It gave me a chance to dot her neck with kisses.

“Enough with the romance. Time to fuck me, Mica.”

  God, she was sexy.

I reached around until I was rubbing her clit. She was slick, but she seemed to like what I was doing.

“Oh fuck, Mica. You’re going to make me come again.”

That was my intent. I picked up the pace with my hand and placed my other hand on her tit, pinching her spiked nipple.

“That’s it. Yeah. I want to come all over your cock.”

If she kept talking like that, I was going to come. But I didn’t want to, at least, not until I did everything I wanted to her body.

Bea tightened around me, and I had to concentrate to stop from blowing my load already. She cried out my name as she came.

I let go of her clit and nipple and stood, picking up the pace as I pounded into her. My thumb was slick as I placed it over her asshole.

“Yes. God, yes,” she cried out.

I knew she wanted to be filled by me. I rubbed around the puckered hole a few times before pushing inside. She groaned but shook her ass.

She wanted it so bad. I pushed my thumb all the way and looked down as my glistening cock pumped into her.

She was tightening once again. Bea kept moaning and cursing as she pushed her ass back into me.

“You like that? You want me to fuck you there one day?”

  “Yes. Oh, Mica, yes.”

I wanted to do it right then, but I had run out of time. My balls tightened in a matter of moments and I came.

So did Bea. She cried out my name, and I pushed into her one last time before I orgasmed. I removed my hand and fell forward.

I don’t think I had ever climaxed that hard. Bea was incredible. She was smart, beautiful, and sexy as fuck. I was still inside her, my cock twitching, and I wondered when we could do it again.
