Anne looked around when the Dascon warriors yelled out a battle cry, followed shortly by the Larmat warriors.

She looked at Alistair holding his sword high above his head. The pride she felt for him swelled inside her threatening to bring tears of joy to her eyes.

“Come my mate.” Alistair turned and looked at her. She hurried to him and grabbed his hand. She stood beside him as he basked in the warmth of the Larmat people’s acceptance.

Niro walked over to Alistair. “This is the warrior I wanted to lead the Larmat people to an era of peace.” Niro smiled at him.

That look on Alistair’s face was priceless to her. He had finally accepted who he was. She knew there would always be people who wouldn’t accept him, but that didn’t matter. She grabbed his hand tighter. She would be by his side no matter what. She knew between Niro and Alistair peace would be achieved in time.

  THE END
