Another time.
They still had two whole days at the resort, after all.
And a far brighter future ahead.
So, he lost himself here, in the final act of this show—act one, act two, finale, to be met with thunderous applause and a standing ovation. She came with a cry, with his name tearing from her throat. She came to him fucking harder, faster, chasing her high and plunging into his own shortly after. Pleasure drowned him. Intoxicated him. Severus slowed but didn’t stop, grinding against her, eliciting every possible ounce of bliss from both of them until his traitorous body gave up. Panting, he fell forward, catching himself with a hand on either side of her.
With a blink, his demon eyes retreated, and he leaned in to finally kiss her—softly, sweetly, languidly. He kissed her until she started to grow antsy beneath him, after which Severus untied her wrists and massaged them, all the while planting tender kisses along her arms as she giggled.
They freshened up together beneath the rain shower with all its glorious water pressure. They dried off together, making good use of the fluffy, luxurious towels provided by the resort.
And they crashed back into bed together, Moira snuggled up to his side.
“How are your nails?” he asked, voice heavy, laced with the beginnings of their afternoon nap. Moira held them up for his examination, wiggling her fingers, and Severus made a show of looking at each one individually. Not a chip anywhere. “They look perfect.”
“You did such a good job keeping them out of the way,” she murmured as she cuddled closer, her head nuzzling under his chin. “Well done, you.”
“I’m known to have a good idea, every once and a while.”
“Hmm. Occasionally.” She shrugged, but he could hear the smile in her voice as he listened to Grey Falls through the open doorway to the deck and traced shapes across her bare back. Every so often, his finger would graze over a bump—a bump that hadn’t been quite so sharp at the start of the week. A bump on each shoulder blade. He swallowed hard, looping back to pass over it again. Wings. Could she feel them growing?
“You know, we’re headed back to real life soon,” she said after a few beats of silence. “No more couple's massages and smoothie bar and infinity pool. No more fairies doing my nails.”
“Not in Farrow’s Hollow, anyway,” he agreed, then kissed the top of her head. Fae and their ilk tended to steer clear of cities hovering on the edge of hell-gates; some demons had a penchant for fae blood much in the same way vampires had a lust for human blood. Severus had never particularly enjoyed the stuff—he just couldn’t see the appeal.
Perhaps it was because he was a leech. Leeches were partial to their own appetites.
For Severus, it was life essence—and Moira Aurelia. Both nourished him, sustained him, gave him life, in completely different, wonderful ways.
“Are you ready for it?” she asked. Real life. Frowning, Severus found her chin and pushed her head up, their gazes meeting.
“Are you?” There was far more fuckery awaiting Moira back home than Severus. As long as he didn’t do anything that would place him squarely on angel Cassiel’s shit list, he should be good. The assault on Seraphim Securities had cleared out a large chunk of the demon movers and shakers; Farrow’s Hollow might not even be the same city now.
Still, even if he didn’t have anyone hunting him or his beloved anymore, Severus had real-life decisions to make. With Moira by his side, escorting was intolerable. He couldn’t stand the touch of another, nor did he want to give out pleasure to anyone save his little hybrid.
Decisions would need to be made.
But they would make them together.
“I’m ready,” she whispered with a smile, her long, nimble fingers curving around his wrist. “Do you want to know why?”
“Do tell, darling.”
She pushed up for another quick kiss, one he dragged out by slipping his tongue between her lips, stroking hers as she moaned softly. A gentle tug at his wrist stopped him, and as he eased away, her smile bloomed into something downright affectionate.
“I’m ready because I have you,” Moira told him, her breath dancing across his skin, her eyes staring deep into his. “We’re partners, Severus, just you and me. That’s all I want, and you’re all I need. Because together, I’m pretty sure we can do literally anything we set our minds to.”
Hopelessly in love, his heart, his mind, his being the sole property of the woman in his arms, Severus dragged her into a kiss. A savage kiss. A bruising kiss. A kiss that he hoped would imprint on her marrow, her soul.
A kiss to last a lifetime.
THE END
Bonus Content
I initially had so much bonus content planned for the folks of Farrow’s Hollow that I decided to make a full companion novel instead, just to ensure it all gets covered. So, a few things you can look forward to:
Moira’s wings—and her reaction to Malachi erasing her first memory of demon ass-kicking.
Severus’s future as the city’s highest-rated male escort.
Alaric’s growth into a corrupted angel hybrid.
Malachi’s infatuation with Ella Thomas, best friend and human.
Ella’s feelings—feelings she refuses to acknowledge, thank you very much—for the eldest Saevitia brother, the golden-haired chaos demon who haunts her dreams.
And the sudden power vacuum in the Farrow’s Hollow demon community, wherein shadowy factions are ready to stake their claim…
Read it all in THE UPRISING, a companion novel to THE HUNT, starring Ella Thomas and Malachi Saevitia, available spring 2019.
Plus, stay tuned for a follow-up novella, THE FALL, starring Verrier (finding love again!) in his very own standalone, in 2020.
Also keep an eye out for Nocturna, a steamy short story standalone set at the Nocturna Resort and Spa exclusively available to newsletter subscribers this winter.

Thanks for reading!
Thank you so much for reading! From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU to all the wonderful readers who supported this series. Honestly, The Hunt really reinvigorated my love of paranormal romance, and it sparked so many other books that I can’t wait to share. Moira and Severus are soulmates who I could write about forever, and I’m so grateful to see all the love and support for their romance. It makes my heart very, very full.
If you enjoyed their story, don’t forget to leave a little review. Not only do they make me squee, but reviews help indies thrive. You’re amazing. Thank you for coming on this journey with me.
All my love,
Liz

About the Author
Liz is a Canadian author who grew up in the Middle East. She has a degree in Bioarchaeology from Western University, and when she isn't writing about her own snarky characters, she is reading about other people’s snarky characters, babying her herb garden, loitering on social media, or taking care of her furbabies.<

Liz dabbles in both paranormal and contemporary erotic romance. Her paranormals are usually dark and angsty, and her contemporaries are stress-free smutfests, but you'll find both riddled with feels. Most of all, she loves writing realistic characters in fantastical settings.
