Bloody Vows Page 8

by J. E Hanson

  A husky voice booms, “Derek! Leave Princess Ember alone! Shoo kid!”

  Derek barks, and whines again. The husky male growls at the young wolf, “We will deal with you later, Derek! Now obey!”

  Derek gives one more whine, and then he runs to an emerald meadow. The husky male turns to Ember, “My name is Billy, and I am one of the pack leaders. You will meet Tanya soon enough.”

  We follow him through a field, and then we walk to a dilapidated barn. There are two more hefty werewolves guarding the barn. They stop long enough to sniff us, and they let us pass. One of the wolves snarls at me.

  Billy snarls back, “She is not a full vampire! Let her pass, Morgan!”

  Morgan backs down, and he stops snapping at me. We walk inside the barn.

  Billy directs us, “You ladies need to stay right here. Princess Tanya, will be out shortly.”

  “You girls were right. I am so thankful I changed now,” Rosalie mutters.

  A very large sable wolf sits down on his hind paws. His emerald eyes appear vaguely familiar. He barks at us. Another wolf follows from behind. This one is a girl werewolf. She appears, as if she is about to have puppies. She glances sideways at him, and then she quickly shifts into her human form right in front of us. The large sable werewolf changes into his human form. Ransom Taylor stands there naked in front of us, along with his naked wife, Tanya Taylor. Tanya grabs a cream robe, and she wraps it around her body. Ransom wraps his cream robe around his shoulders too. All of us with Ember and Rosalie’s Enforcers sit there in complete shock.

  Tanya pulls out her hair, “Hi girls! I am so happy that you could make it to my baby shower.”

  I nudge the other two girls who remain comatose, “It is our honor to be your guests this evening. We have gifts for you, and your baby, Tanya.”

  Tanya gives us a look of surprise, “Oh, you girls didn’t have to buy me anything. That is very thoughtful of you girls. Thank you for the gifts.”

  “Dog… collar… I told you so!” Rosalie mutters incoherently. Luckily, Ransom and Tanya were not paying any attention to her.

  I hold my hand over her mouth to muffle out Rosalie’s honest opinions today. Ransom walks over, and then he gives a quick peck on our cheeks. I kiss his in return, and he winks at me. I can see why Tanya married him. Ransom excuses himself and then he struts outside the barn. The next noise we hear is a very loud bloodcurdling howl.

  Ember casually asks Tanya, “What goes on at a werewolf baby shower? I don’t see any games—or cake anywhere.”

  Tanya sits beside us for a minute, “Well, maybe I should have probably told you all what actually goes on at a werewolf baby shower. I was afraid that none of you would come, if we told you. Under normal circumstances with mortals, they would have all of that; however, here we don’t follow the traditions you all do. You notice that we are in a barn. I don’t even know if you girls realize it—or not—but tonight is a full moon. A full moon may not signify anything to you girls, but a full moon means everything to us. I would tell you more, but I am afraid you will leave. I need your full support tonight, because it really means a lot to me if you girls stick around.”

  My hand covers Rosalie’s mouth.

  I smile warmly at Tanya, “It is our honor to watch your baby shower. What do we have to do?”

  Tanya seems excited, “All you girls have to do is just sit right here and wait. Don’t be afraid when everyone shows up for our baby shower.”

  Elvin stifles another small chuckle, and then he gives each of us an ‘I-told-you-so’ expression.

  Ember is just as curious as I am, “What can we do for you?”

  A woman enters the barn, and she takes all the baby shower gifts for Tanya. “All you have to do is remain in your seats,” Tanya points.

  The barn doors swing open. We watch all the werewolves file in slowly. The wet dog smell is atrocious. The cub Derek, sits right beside Ember. He whines, and then he lays his head in her lap.

  Ember pats his head, “Oh it is you again! It is so nice to meet you again, Derek.”

  Derek yips, and then he licks her face. He keeps his head on Ember’s lap. Tanya takes off her gown, and then she shifts back into her werewolf form. She is sable with patches of white. She yips at us, and then she sits in the middle of the barn. There are wooden seats lined up against the barn. More wolves take their places. Ransom returns to Tanya’s side.

  We eagerly watch in anticipation to see what happens next. A few men step out of their werewolf forms, and they hit a few levers. Fresh meat drop from the ceiling. Rosalie is fine until she notices the chunks of flesh and animal carcasses.

  She turns green right away. Ember snaps a bucket for her. She tries to hold back, “I think I am going to be so sick! I am so sorry! I am pregnant myself. This is too much for my stomach to handle!”

  I hold her hair back for her, and she lets the vile loose. She constantly apologizes to all the wolves around us. They peek at her annoyed.

  Tanya walks around on all fours. Ransom sits there on his hind legs waiting. Tanya keeps pacing back and forth. We wait patiently for five hours until our watches beep that it’s midnight. All the wolves in the barn howl at the full moon. Tanya seems, as if she is panting. She lays on the ground whining. We can hear a whimper from her. Ransom walks over to her muzzle, and licks it.

  Rosalie glances up, “Oh fuck no! You have got to be kidding me!”

  I firmly keep my hand over her mouth, “Everything will be okay. Consider this research for our biology class.”

  Ember and I gape in horror to watch a pup, being born. She whines a few more times. Ransom barks at another grey wolf. The grey wolf appears at her side. The kicks are agonizing to watch. We watch in horror to see the pup coming out of her. The pup finally emerges out of its placenta. Tanya eats the placenta that the puppy was in a few minutes ago. That is when Rosalie, Ember, and I all vomit. My stomach can handle many things, but this is not one of those things. A rubber ball escapes my stomach. Ransom walks over to the pup nudging him with his muzzle. Tanya licks the puppy clean, and she cuts the umbilical cord with her razor sharp teeth. She remains on her side to let the pup nurse from her.

  Rosalie gawks at them, “I knew it! For once, I am right!” she gasps, and then she throws up again.

  All the wolves howl in unison. I turn around to see a young boy with raven curly hair sitting next to Ember now. He wears a pair of shorts. I gasp at his green eyes.

  He quickly turns to Ember, “I smell my kin on you. Are you my older sister, Ember?”

  She gazes at the newly formed Derek, “I knew I had a brother, but I had no idea you are him! I had to make a choice between the fairy and angel side. I can’t believe that I am finally getting to meet you!”

  Derek pecks her cheek, “I knew you were my sister! Billy tried to tell me that we are not related! I had to choose between the fairy and the werewolf side. I chose to remain with my Uncle Ransom. He pretty much raised me since my mom died giving birth to me.”

  Ember hugs the olive-skin little boy. Ember cries, as she pecks his forehead, “I am so sorry about our birth father. I wish I would have known sooner. I can’t believe I have a baby brother!”

  Derek wipes his tears off, “That is okay, Ember. I am just glad to see that you’re okay too. Ransom keeps me safe now. I love you, sis. I knew you would choose to be an angel.”

  She keeps holding her baby brother, staring at him, and hugging him. She doesn’t want to let him go either. Ransom notices the expression on her face, “Thank you,” she mouths to him.

  Ransom glances over at his wife and barks. He shifts into his human form, and he casually wraps his robe around his shoulders. He walks over to talk to Ember, “My younger sister was the one Everest sired. She died giving birth to him. I am pleased to announce that his fairy side morphed into his werewolf side, making him a full werewolf. That is why we discourage crossbreeding, but I will never sign—or support Bill 203. Derek has brought so much joy to my family. If Bill 203 passes,
and turns into law… it would be horrible for all of us. You must keep Saber in power. They could incarcerate us, and they will immediately kill us. We need to find Khan, and bring him to justice, before it is too late. Even the angels are in trouble for aiding Ember. You have no idea how much Bill 203 will screw all of us over.”

  Ember hugs Ransom first, “I have no clue on how to properly thank you, Ransom. Thank you for taking care of my baby brother. I had no idea his mom was your sister.”

  He hugs her in return, “We will continue to take care of Derek. He is comfortable with our kind. I am just relieved that the fairy side turned into the werewolf side on its own.”

  Rosalie stops throwing up, “I am so sorry, for being so sick! This pregnancy is really kicking my ass. Every little scent makes me puke even more. I support you both. So what happens to Tanya now? Will she be able to return to college?”

  He glances back at his wife, “She will remain in werewolf form for a few weeks. Our baby needs his nourishment. She will wean him after four weeks. When he transforms into his human side, then she will transform into her mortal side.”

  Rosalie gulps again, “I hate to sound really ignorant. Did you conceive him in werewolf form—or as a human?” Ember and I cover our faces with our hands. We apparently missed out covering her mouth.

  Ransom roars with laughter, “Now I see why Joseph has his hands full with you! We have sex in both forms. The occasional mounting happens in wolf form.”

  Rosalie shrugs her shoulders, “I don’t know whether to feel deeply disturbed or intrigued.”

  “I would declare intrigued. Can we say goodbye to your wife?” Ember changes the subject.

  Ransom turns to Tanya, “You can tell her goodbye. We really appreciate all of you for supporting us. Your support means a lot to us.”

  We walk over to Tanya, who lifts her head up. I sit on the ground, “He is beautiful Tanya and congratulations. We will see you soon.”

  “We will still be your groom and bridesmaid at your wedding, Jeannie. We will stick around, as long as we can, but we have to return to our son,” Ransom informs us.

  Tanya licks her son again, “I completely understand, and thank you in advance for participating in our wedding,” I said to him.

  Tanya barks at us. It is odd to see her pink tongue hanging from her mouth. Rosalie and Ember give their congratulations to the new parents.

  Ember carries her brother outside, and she asks him, “What do you like to do?”

  Derek’s face lights up, “I love baseball! Maybe you can take me to a baseball game in the future?”

  Ember pecks her brother, “That is a date! I am sure I can find tickets to take you. Will your Uncle Ransom let you go with me?”

  Ransom walks behind us with shorts on to see us off, “You can take your brother with you, as long as you give me advanced notice. There will be times that he is unable to switch to his mortal side.”

  She hands Ransom her phone, and they exchange phone numbers. She gives Derek a hug, “I am so glad that you’re okay. I love you, Derek. No matter what happens, we will always be brother and sister.”

  They cry for a little while, but we will have to leave. She pecks on his cheek one last time, “You have to promise me that you will always remain good, and listen to Uncle Ransom.”

  Derek quickly pecks her cheek in return, “You have my word, Ember. I want to be there when your baby comes. I want to meet my new niece—or nephew.”

  We wave goodbye, and then sit inside the limousine. The limo driver gets us out of there in one piece. Ember cries on our drive home. Rosalie keeps to herself until we are away from the werewolf side of Meropis.

  She finally opens her mouth, “That was one odd baby shower. I should have known that this is what a werewolf baby shower would be like. I should have listened to my husband. I hope your wedding is nothing like Tanya’s baby shower.”

  October 6th, 2012, will always be the day we saw our very first, and probably our last werewolf baby shower. The shower consists of meat and animal carcasses. We never bothered to ask why they need so much meat. We wanted to leave as fast as we could. Rosalie quits throwing up on our drive home. They drop me off at the castle first, and they all wave goodbye to me. I quietly walk inside to see, and hear nothing.

  In the library, my fiancé is sitting in his oversize Victorian chair. Erik and Alexander are reading various books. I casually walk inside disclosing nothing, and sit in a chair with my hands clasping each other. None of them will even look at me.

  I finally break the overwhelming silence, “I am never doing that again. I respect them and their traditions, but the wet dog smell was nothing compared to all the raw meat. It went from a baby shower to the actual birth of their child. You men are fucking right as usual. Now I am going to soak in my tub for the remainder of the evening to try, and scrub all the wet dog smell off my skin. This is my big ‘I-told-you-so.’ So thank you for refusing to warn me about this experience. One I am sure I will never forget. Enjoy the rest of your evening.”

  They continue not to verbalize anything to me. I close the library doors behind me. A few minutes later, I overhear their loud cachinnates. Their laughter makes me shake my head in disgust.

  Sophia takes my jacket with a pair of yellow rubber gloves. She follows right behind me, “I have your bath already drawn for you, Princess. You smell horrid, my dear.”

  Sophia is our housekeeper. She wears a grey habit, grey jumper, and a long cream sleeve shirt. She also wears slate boots underneath her jumper. She is a full vampire too. The staff here, at Hunter Castle are all vampires.

  These clothes take forever to strip off. My garden tub fills with bubbles. I right away dive underneath the water. With a scrub brush, I rub my skin raw. Sophia sprays my bathroom with air freshener. She picks up my clothes, and then she puts them in a plastic trash bag. She even curls her nose at the foul stench, as she ties the bag up. I toy with the gold knobs using only my toes.

  Christian joins me after thirty minutes, “How did it go?”

  I shot him a dirty look, “You have no idea what I have been through for the last six hours. You could have given me some kind of warning.”

  He sheds his clothes, and then he joins me in the tub. He sits right behind me to hold me in his arms, “I thought I warned you. What part of, ‘they do things differently,’ did you not understand? Why not just sum up tonight as a learning experience? I want to discuss our wedding, which will be here in a few weeks.”

  I tilt my head to his face, “I am really nervous. Will our wedding be bloody also? We are vampires you know.”

  Christian softly caresses my lips with his, and then he stops, “There are a few exchanges of blood, but nothing to the extent of what you just witnessed.”

  He bites into my neck. The bite knocks the air from my lungs with pleasure. He reaches with his long fingers, and places his hand between my thighs. He immediately toys with my clit to warm me up for sex. He pulls me to a straddling position facing him. Without any warning, he slams his hard shaft deep inside. My body instantly quakes from the pleasure he gives me. The bubbles swish and swash all over the bathroom floor from the waves we make together. He tilts my head back, and sucks my erect nipples. I moan extremely loud. I am sure all the men downstairs can hear my moans this time.

  ~~~***~~~
  We finish making love in my bed. He allows me to suck his blood in return. The intense sex sends me crashing over his muscular body. The sex is explosive this time. Christian embraces my lips one last time with his, before I drift off to sleep.
  Chapter 8
  On Sunday morning, Christian currently works on his spreadsheets, while lying in my bed. He notices how groggy I am today, “Are you feeling okay, Jeannie? You have never woke up this tired in a long time.”
  I almost stumble out of bed, but Chris catches me in his arms, “I am okay, Chris. Yesterday was just a very long day, and I haven’t been sleeping well either.”
  He helps me stand up. My human need
s require my full attention. After using the bathroom, I rejoin my bedroom to a pacing fiancé. He worries about me again. I can feel it, “There is nothing to worry about, Chris. I am perfectly fine.”
  His eyes bore into me, “I love you, and care for you deeply. I never want to make you weak in any way.”
  I instantly wrap my arms around his waist to hug him from behind, “I promise you that if this is ever too much, I will tell you. But, I am perfectly fine. I promise that I am okay, and I will take better care of myself.” That seems to please him.
  ~~~***~~~

  The next day, I have a midwife appointment. Everything is where it needs to be. My uterus remains intact, and the blood continues to diffluence through it. Due to doctor’s orders, I take the iron supplements, as she instructs.

  Meropis University has stacks of homework that I missed. Tanya is not in her human form right now, so Ransom is collecting her homework for her. We miss her bubbly personality already. As a group of Princesses, we make up our quizzes and tests. The Enforcers love watching our determination to earn our degrees. I am able to keep up with my homework, while planning a wedding.

  ~~~***~~~
  We spend the last two weeks focusing on our wedding. Rosalie and Willow stay with me to help me pick out my wedding dress.
  We make it to Sean Fierce’s clothing boutique in one piece considering the paparazzi constantly wait for me. Willow will be my maid of honor. I flip through all the endless styles of wedding dresses. Sean brought out even more books. Louie and Sean disappear together. They went in the back to find more samples. I guess they are doing other things besides that. I continue to ignore the loud bangs and moans. Rosalie raises an eyebrow, “Don’t you have fairies that are gay?”
